@Pink15, they never rang me! I rang them up and the receptionist said they might be a bit behind with their appointments and to just wait. I’m at work so have my phone on loud but I have heard nothing at all. Going to ring them up on my dinner break and see if they can either talk today or reschedule it. Not very good at all! There has been no more blood though so I’m just going to keep an eye on that and hopefully get to speak to a midwife at some point today. Thanks for asking.

Pink15 · 26/05/2020 15:16

@CoBell that's frustrating!! Yeah maybe just try them again later x

wannabebump · 26/05/2020 15:38

@CoBell did you get through to them?x

Oatmilk1 · 26/05/2020 15:58

@CoBell

I was told that phone appointments in my trust are not at a specific time. They allocate the calls to midwives on the mornings and they will call at their leisure. Which frankly I find frustrating!

FudgeFlies · 26/05/2020 15:59

Hi all, I’ve only just got my combined screening results - I was told results would be given to me at 16 week appointment next week but I went in today for a consultant appointment and asked for the results. I got 1:2540 for Trisomy 21 and 1:18251 for trisomy 13 + 18. When I’ve read the letter states, I have a low PAPP-A 0.33mom. My beta-hcg was 0.7m. Is the beta-hcg low too? They didn’t really discuss that these results mean, just said my risk was low. What will this mean for me now? I haven’t heard anything from the midwife, will I be okay to wait to discuss the results next week or should I be calling them now to discuss. Sorry, worrying over here! X

SqidgeBum · 26/05/2020 16:03

I think if they arent calling you for more screenings you are fine @FudgeFlies. If you are really worried maybe ask if the midwife can call you but I think they make contact if they are concerned.

Hancock2020 · 26/05/2020 16:24

Has anyone switched care providers half way through their pregnancy before? If all goes well with our mortgage illbe moving from south Warwickshire to north Warwickshire so will be at a different hospital etc but am not sure whether to maintain the hospital I've already been allocated to here as I'll be about 20 ish weeks by then

Pink15 · 26/05/2020 16:27

@Hancock2020 I don't have any experience swapping but my gut feeling would be wait until after your 20 week scan as that's important and don't want to miss that! Could always swap after that ?

Hancock2020 · 26/05/2020 16:32

True, I dont think it would be until after then anyway , not sure how long mortgages etc take after acceptance but cant see it being before 20 weeks

HarrietM87 · 26/05/2020 16:33

@Hancock2020 my friend moved hospitals at about 30 weeks because they moved house and it was straightforward. I agree with @Pink15 though, I’d wait until post 20 week scan if you can just so you don’t slip through the net on that one.

Hancock2020 · 26/05/2020 16:35

This trust ive got now isn't great so far, my midwife takes days to reply to me about anything, there was no contact about 12 week scan, I've had to contact the midwife about my 16 week appointment which is on 9th of june, its booked in, but they failed to tell me, but told the midwife. Jusy feel a bit dangled out there right now, I'm sure lots of us are though

HarrietM87 · 26/05/2020 16:38

@FudgeFlies average is around 1 but low hcg has no impact on anything. With my son my hcg was 0.25 - I think that was the reason I had no morning sickness! This time round it’s 0.8 so still below average. I asked my private dr (consultant) about it in my first pregnancy and he said it’s just random and varies woman to woman.

Low PappA is more concerning I think as it’s produced by the placenta so it can indicate issues with that which can affect the baby’s growth. From what I understand the majority are totally fine but they usually offer extra growth scans later in pregnancy. You should definitely ask your midwife and consultant about this but it can wait until your next appt - it’s not an urgent thing, more something they’ll look at at your 20 week scan and after i think.

⭐️ TMI Awkward nipple related post ⭐️

Sooo... How can I put this. 😬😅

My nipples have never been that sensitive at all and midway through the first trimester I had sharply painful nipples for a few weeks but it went away. All good you’re thinking.

Since about 12wks they’ve gotten increasingly sensitive but not in a bad way 🙈 It’s now at the point that my clothes moving makes them stick out five miles 🤣 And if anything brushes them? Instant mega turn on. I can be carrying some shopping to the house and my mind slides off into the gutter as my nipples trigger the horn. It’s so intense they get touched and I am planning how to sneak off upstairs for a cheeky one 🤣🤣

Yet I have no particular desire to actually have sex lol... WTF is this all about? Do most people get this and I was just oblivious as a FTM?

CoBell · 26/05/2020 17:25

@wannabebump, @Pink15, @oatmilk1 very frustrating indeed! Ive not been able to speak to them today but they have rescheduled a call for Thursday so only a couple of days to wait. Smile

littlegem84 · 26/05/2020 17:56

@FlashesOfRage I'm with you! I'm snuggling raisins 24/7 and my mind is in the gutter but it's too bloody hot and I can't be arsed to actually do it so flying solo May be the best option 😂

littlegem84 · 26/05/2020 17:56

smuggling 😂😂😂

Rolly123 · 26/05/2020 18:33

@CoBell have you told anyone about the bleeding yet? All my books say to phone the early pregnancy unit or 111 if you experience any bleeding at all just to be sure.

I had some bleeding on Saturday and got booked in for a scan on Monday and all was fine but good to have the reassurance. I asked the lady if it was ok to leave it I had the same again and it was only a little bit, but she said always phone just to check.

CoBell · 26/05/2020 20:24

@Rolly123, no I haven’t I was going to mention it on my telephone appointment today but that phone call didn’t happen so I haven’t actually spoken to anyone about it. I’ve kept my eye on it and it has only been the one time this morning where there was a slight smear of blood on the tissue which just freaked me out a bit. Did you notice blood throughout the day when you were bleeding or was yours a one off too? I agree it’s better to get checked and I think I will ring to get checked if I have any more at all. Thank you.Smile

littlegem84 · 26/05/2020 20:45

Has anyone got experience of a dull ache on one side? I'm experiencing it on my right side (if I'm looking down at my tummy). It's uncomfortable but not unbearable and I don't know whether I've pulled a muscle or if it's just growing pains. I don't remember if I had some TB I got similar with DS.

FudgeFlies · 26/05/2020 22:17

@HarrietM87 @SqidgeBum thank you! I ended up calling the midwife and she said I’d need some extra scans. X

HarrietM87 · 26/05/2020 22:26

That’s good @FudgeFlies. My aunt had it in her last pregnancy and got extra scans. They thought her baby would be small for dates based on the scans and induced her on her due date, and he was a perfectly respectable 7.5lbs!

Rolly123 · 26/05/2020 22:52

@CoBell mine was only a little bit but on three occasions after I went to the toilet. Nothing on my panty liner or anything. Was so relieved it wasn't anything to worry about in the end, but I'd let them know anyway. They might be quite happy to do nothing, but best to ask! Smile

anon5555 · 27/05/2020 08:20

@CoBell try not to worry - I've had 3 occasions of very heavy bleeding, and I still have a sub chronic haemorrhage (meaning bleeding still weeks later). My last check was last Sunday and baby was doing well. They said to come into hospital if red blood again, but other than that I can wait until my 20 week scan (a number of weeks away). You could also call your early pregnancy unit if you are worried, and go to A&E in an emergency where it is heavy bleeding. Best of luck xxx

wannabebump · 27/05/2020 09:16

@CoBell how are you today?x

CoBell · 27/05/2020 09:49

@anon5555, thank you :) I’ve not bled again since yesterday so I am just going to keep an eye on it. I have my 16 week telephone appointment tomorrow so I will mention it to the midwife the. but I imagine they will say just to keep an eye on it and to get back in touch if it continues or becomes heavier. It’s just hard not to worry isn’t it! I’m glad everything is ok with you Grin

@wannabebump, I’m doing alright today thank you, how’s everything going with you? Smile
