@Needallthesleep I don’t have any relevant experience as a soon to be FTM but I, too, am terrified of the change. I like my life!

What I will say is that it’s really easy to stress about the things that seem big but in reality turn out to be small - whatever happens on the day there will be a solution for DD’s childcare somehow. And we are all here to hang out through the sleepless nights. I also hope they don’t last for too long! Surely if it was that terrible nobody would have more than one child...?! Xx

calimommy · 11/10/2020 04:39

@Needallthesleep everything will be fine! I always have that moment of thinking "OMG what have we done??" and after my second I wept a few pathetic tears thinking I was neglecting my first because it had been 4 days since I had bathed him (my husband had been doing it) 😂🙄 but it's all hormones and passes. I can't remember how I was after the third, it's a blur 😜.
You will be a duck to water x

professorastrocat · 11/10/2020 19:41

Hope you're feeling alright for tomorrow @Needallthesleep. I'm suddenly feeling similar, my waters broke this morning with nothing happening since. And suddenly feel very low rather than positive and excited. It's really weird!! And not productive to labour starting obviously.

Who knows what will happen tomorrow (or during the night...), but obviously hospital has a policy for starting labour once waters are gone 😱😱

Thanks all for the reassuring words. I think the anticipation is the worst part.

Oh wow @professorastrocat that’s so exciting! Will be thinking of you. By tomorrow there could be two more babies on this thread!

Wise0wl · 11/10/2020 22:28

Huge luck @Needallthesleep and @professorastrocat - keep us posted!

Needallthesleep · 12/10/2020 21:06

Hi, hope you don’t mind if I don’t share names or photos, but our DD was born at midday today, by ELCS, weighing 7lbs 8oz. Everything went well (I was an absolute baby about the spinal block) and she’s currently asleep on me.

I’m definitely less spritely than after the birth of my first DD, but feeling a lot more confident which is nice. I’ve got an overnight stay in hospital to look forward to (urgh) then all going well, home tomorrow.

Wise0wl · 12/10/2020 21:54

Huge congratulations @Needallthesleep!!! Delighted for you and that DD2 has arrived safely. I hope your night in hospital goes well and fingers crossed for a swift return home tomorrow! Xx

Hatepickinganame · 12/10/2020 23:32

@Needallthesleep ah huge congratulations! Glad all went well ❤

@professorastrocat any news? Hope everything is ok ☺

Talcott2007 · 13/10/2020 11:21

Congratulations @needallthesleep! Hope that you are home already and able to take it easy enjoying all the snuggles with your little one!

calimommy · 13/10/2020 15:51

Oh congratulations @Needallthesleep !! How lovely xxx

Talcott2007 · 13/10/2020 20:25

Had my final scans and meetings with the consultants this afternoon and my last appointment with the midwife is happening tomorrow before the big day next Wednesday (unless I pop on my own 1st before hand) Everything still looking as good as possible with her heart and she is frankly humongous for 37w - they think she has gone up to 7lbs11oz so we are looking at over 8lbs by next week.

I can't remember who was asking about expressing colostrum earlier in the thread - photo of my efforts so far - ive been doing it every other day for the last week and managed to get a full 1ml yesterday! Grin

@Needallthesleep yay congratulations! Hope you are well x

DPSawMyUsername · 13/10/2020 22:15

@Needallthesleep CONGRATULATIONS!

My November only group on another site has been having these babies come thick and fast, all fine too. Makes me just wish the next couple of weeks away, I'm so done!

36 week appt with midwife today (36+5). Her measurement has him just falling off the chart so growth and presentation scan tomorrow as he fancies being breech right now too 🤦🏻‍♀️
Has anybody had their babies turned? I knew there was a common procedure but looking through it today it's a hell of a lot longer than I thought!

Needallthesleep · 13/10/2020 22:31

@Talcott2007 that’s an amazing colostrum effort. At 2am last night I was so grateful to the midwife who gave my baby some of the colostrum that I expressed, and the baby slept for 4 hours after that (of course I didn’t though, I lay awake worrying!).

DPSawMyUsername · 15/10/2020 08:51

So he decided to be head down for the scan do no spin needed 🙌🏻
Apparently weighs in at 6lb 3oz which is just under the average but consistent with his curve.

What are them lips and that pout please?? 👀😂

Hi everyone. Just to update that baby girl (name still tbc) was born on Tuesday morning weighting 6lb 10oz. We're both doing well and back home yesterday. 😍

Wise0wl · 15/10/2020 09:38

@professorastrocat congratulations!!! So glad she’s here safely and you’re both doing well.

@DPSawMyUsername lovely scan pic, and great news baby is the right way round!

DPSawMyUsername · 15/10/2020 09:41

@professorastrocat CONGRATULATIONS!! Hope you're all well xx

professorastrocat · 15/10/2020 09:42

@Needallthesleep many congratulations! 🥰 I hope you're settled back home ok and baby is doing well.

Glad everything is going well @Talcott2007 and all set for next week. I tried expressing a little but didn't get hardly anything so didn't take anything with me (though I was naively not expecting her arrival at 38+4 necessarily). So what you've got there is awesome.

@DPSawMyUsername that is a good pout! I'm glad the growth scan went well and that he's now head down. There's some great yoga videos on YouTube for helping keep baby in position...similar to spinningbabies.

Hatepickinganame · 15/10/2020 09:56

@professorastrocat oh congratulations! Glad to hear your home and settled.

@DPSawMyUsername thats a lovely pic, how many weeks are you now? The midwife on monday said baby is definitely not transverse anymore but she cant tell if shes now gone breech, theres too much fluid apparently. I have another scan on tuesday so fingers crossed she's head down!! Im 32 weeks so if she isnt head down ill be panicking!

Needallthesleep · 15/10/2020 10:08

@professorastrocat huggeeee congratulations!! So happy for you guys.

calimommy · 15/10/2020 14:56

@professorastrocat oh fabulous!! Xxx

whatsthecraic91 · 15/10/2020 16:01

@professorastrocat congratulations!!! Can't believe all the babies are coming now! xx

Hatepickinganame · 20/10/2020 11:49

How is everyone? I have my 32 week scan today, hoping the stubborn little one is now head down and not breech. Hope youre all well and babies are doing good!

professorastrocat · 20/10/2020 12:28

All the best for the scan, enjoy seeing baby and fingers crossed for a head down baby! @Hatepickinganame

All good here, had a rough night last night but were nearly back up to birth weight so she's doing well. Can't believe she's a week old already!

@Talcott2007 how you feeling about tomorrow? Exciting!!
