@Spark27 keep us informed with how you get on hun and @Dollydaph10 what ever you decide in will be right for you and DH keep us updated.

My scan is Tuesday too and it cannot come soon enough, I am really anxious now as haven't felt baby properly in ages little bits here and there but not enough to settle me.
Wish I had a carry round scan machine 24/7 then I wouldn't feel this anxious.any one have any tips on getting baby moving??, xx

Treaclepie19 · 06/05/2020 10:28

Hope all goes well today @Spark27!

@babymama09 no idea if this is true or not but I read somewhere that if you shine a bright light on your belly it can make them move as they don't love the light.

Didn't work for me but I likely have anterior placenta and have not felt any movement yet. Might be worth a try!

BntTowers · 06/05/2020 10:38

@babymama09 I have had any movement yet, but I find whenever I go out for a walk or do a little exercise my bump pops out a bit more, so I'm hoping that will wake the baby and get some kicks at some point. I also heard fizzy drinks but can't remember where I read that so I'm not sure.

Zaalfruit · 06/05/2020 10:40

@Indigogirl88 my husbands the same - he wants a boy getting on my nerves . I know he would love the baby the same but it annoys me that he has a preference .

Good luck to everyone that has scans , please let us know if it’s team boy or girl !!

BooMamaBear · 06/05/2020 10:42

Good luck for your scan @Spark27 let us know how it goes!
@Glitterbug86 -thanks I've just always had an anterior placenta before! It's high up I know about the low down problem coz my SIL had that with my Nephew and it didn't move so she had to have an elective c-section!! Xxx

HerondaleDucks · 06/05/2020 11:10

@Spark27 good luck for your scan, look forward to hearing how it goes!

babymama09 · 06/05/2020 11:13

Light shining didn't work, I have tried drinking cold water as I read that helps unless baby is moving and I just can't feel it as strong. I thought I felt a kick yesterday but they are so light compared to beforw that I am not to sure it was. I feel stupid because this is my 7th baby I should remember how this works but honestly I feel like a newbi at this. 😕😕😔😲😲😳

Spark27 · 06/05/2020 12:27

Thank you for the messages ladies. All good with the scan. Baby looking fine, all limbs and major organs present and correct. Sonographer happy with all the measurements and baby was moving around a lot. Placenta is fundal (at the top) and slightly to the front. So could explain why the movements have felt like a lava lamp. But it's high, so no exit issues.
Took her ages to check all 4 chambers of the heart due to babies movement. Needed a lot of pushing so stomach might feel a bit uncomfortable later. And it was agony for my full bladder.

And we are confirmed Team Pink! Yay. Nub Techs and my reading from the 12w scan was right.

Let the online shopping commence!

Zaalfruit · 06/05/2020 12:29

@babymama09 please don’t stress - I have tried everything aswell . I’m super anxious too. I have heard every baby is different probably cosy in you ! So please don’t stress x when is your next scan?

babymama09 · 06/05/2020 12:39

@Spark27 yay 🙌🙌🤲for team pink I am so glad everything went well for you and the shopping can begin -(that is the fun bit)
@Zaalfruit, thank you for the support hun my next scan is on Tuesday, I haven't heard anything off the midwife yet Nd she is supposed to contact me at some stage. I know I shouldn't stress and I am trying hard not to, I gave up smoking a few weeks ago and recently I failed and started to smoke off and on again. I just wish there was a machine we could all have at home to check babies ourselves for our own peace of mind. I know you can buy the one from argos to hear the heartbeat but I would love to be able to watch baby... 🤗🤗🤗🤗 To you though when is your next scan? Xx

MrsD1990 · 06/05/2020 12:40

Yay so happy for you @Spark27!!! Amazing news. Congratulations on your little girl!

Treaclepie19 · 06/05/2020 12:45

Glad all is well @Spark27 and a girl, how lovely 😊

Zaalfruit · 06/05/2020 12:50

@Spark27 Team girl - start shopping now ahh congratulations sooo exciting !!! And glad everything is all good !! Another one for team baby girl .

@babymama09 mines next Wednesday !! Counting down the days now . Ahh I would
Love to get the heart machine but I read a scary story and completely put of by it . Plus I think I would go bat sh11111t crazy if I couldnt hear a beat . Not long to go till Tuesday lots of positive thoughts . Why don’t you give the midwife a ring and let her know how you are feeling - mine don’t pick up so it’s no hope .

CouscousEvaporator · 06/05/2020 12:52

Yaaaay for team pink @Spark27 🥳

babymama09 · 06/05/2020 12:58

@Zaalfruit the number is always busy, haven't tried her mobile as she advised me not to contact her that way unless an emergency. My anxiety wouldn't be an emergency, I will try and message her on it again in a bit, and I agree I downloaded an epp on my which is supposed to allow you to hear heartbeat and its not great and doesn't help you when you already feel anxious. Yours isn't long either,, keep positive with me... Thanks for the support thou hun xx

Glitterbug86 · 06/05/2020 13:18

@Spark27 congrats! 💗

@babymama09 how far along are you now? I thinks it's really normal and common not to feel baby yet though. I haven't either.

I had my midwife app and heard a nice clear heartbeat - phew. I don't know why I get myself so worried before apps! Looking forward to my 20 week scan on the 22nd now 😀

LexiM · 06/05/2020 13:25

Ah congrats @Spark27 how exciting to find out.

@Indigogirl88 and @Zaalfruit funnily enough my husband wants a girl! I know he won’t mind when it comes round if it’s a boy though. I have also had those pains, didn’t realise it was braxton hicks already!

@Glitterbug86 so exciting hearing the heartbeat isn’t it!

I have no idea whether I’ve felt movement or not, when I’m lying still I’m sure theres something but I’m not confident enough to say it’s movement. As soon as I eat anything now my tummy gets so big and tight... god help me later on 😂

babymama09 · 06/05/2020 13:39

About 16 weeks @Glitterbug86 there abouts any way according to my several apps on says I am nearly 17 weeks but that is a week out based on the scan. I think I may have had a little kick then on my left side but it felt a bit high up. I should know all of this, why do I feel like such a novice??!!
How is everyone feeling today? Xx

Glitterbug86 · 06/05/2020 14:00

@babymama09 oh that is still very early for flutters? Please try not to worry (I know easier said than done) ❤️

babymama09 · 06/05/2020 14:14

@Glitterbug86 your right it is still early on I think I just expect to feel more after having so many children. I make myself worse by causing my own anxiety to rise xx

DollyDaph10 · 06/05/2020 14:27

Hi all! I decided to go for the private scan in the end. Baby looked good! I was so relieved when I heard the heartbeat! I have a posterior placenta that’s on my cervix so they said if it doesn’t move that will be a c-section and possibly early labour....now I’m a bag of nerves till my NHS appt in 2 weeks where hopefully I will get more clarity. I’m praying it’s moved by then so I can stop all my stressing!! We are team blue!! DH is over the moon!! He couldn’t make the scan as had to work, so I picked out a blue teddy bear with baby’s heartbeat recorded. I got gone just as he was leaving for work & he was SO pleased! First grandson for both our families :)
Congrats on the baby girl @Spark27
Ps I’m still not feeling movements, so I hope this might reassure others that haven’t felt kicks xx

BooMamaBear · 06/05/2020 14:28

@Spark27 -yay team pink like me!! Glad all looked well!!
@babymama09 -try not to stress this is my second baby (where I've got past 13w) I only started to feel her Monday night at 17+1 didn't really feel anything I was sure of before then and my placenta is at the back so if your placenta is at the front then a lot of movements are cushioned by it so it may take a bit longer! Coz of how small the baby is I understand I am only feeling the harder kicks and that's without anything cushioning it! Xx

Indigogirl88 · 06/05/2020 14:28

Lovely news about all of the scans ladies @Spark27

I dont know why but I've felt incredibly vulnerable today, I've suddenly realised that I'm not going to be working come the end of the year, we have 2 houses, though one is on the market, and I'll be totally reliant on dp, we arent married and its suddenly dawned on me. I'm sure it's just normal and hormones but its hit me today. I hope I'm not the only one Sad

Can't wait to feel proper kicks!

HerondaleDucks · 06/05/2020 14:45

Just had an hour long video consultation with the PIMs team nurse about health and nutrition. I feel thoroughly chastised and ashamed of myself right now.
