@DollyDaph10 I really want to do another scan but they are all shut around here . Maybe call up the scanning place to see what measures are in place around covid 19?

When I did my private scan they said I had to wear a mask and use hand gel .

I see so many good offers come through but I just can’t stomach myself to get it until the 20 scan just have this stupid fear over me.

The positive birth company looks good just added them on Instagram .

babymama09 · 05/05/2020 18:46

@Treaclepie19 thank you hun, I am really glad I joined this group. I understand that completely. Like I said before we are in a 3 bed it's in a lovely area and we are trying to make it liverable for the six soon to be seven of us. My three boys share the master room at the min and my daughter has the box room ideally, she would share with baby when baby gets bigger and my oldest would in turn have her room but that would mean us moving into the front room which is desperate need to decorating again, but to be fair the whole house could be doing with it and unfortunately it just doesn't seem possible to do because of this lock down. X

Treaclepie19 · 05/05/2020 18:52

@Babymama09 It's frustrating isn't it. I want to get things done while I'm still able to but its not looking likely. I've said if we can't get things in then I'll just order some wall stickers for now and redecorate properly once things are better.
Don't want my 4yo to feel pushed out though!
We wanted to move house later this year or get an extension but I doubt that will happen either. Though might be best with a newborn 😂

I am done with today. Think I hit my peak 'pissed off with lockdown' mood. Been super emotional all day, feeling like I could cry at the drop of a hat. Actually full out bawled twice. DD bought me her teddy bear for a cuddle and DH has been amazing (if a little scared at the crazy, hormonal woman!) Told DH that I had the emotional breaking point of a year old piece of shortbread Grin

Hoping an early night will put me in a more positive mood for tomorrow x

babymama09 · 05/05/2020 20:07

@Spark27big 🤗🤗🤗 To you and I understand the emotional wave your on I have felt like it off and on for weeks. I had a memory card full of videos from when my oldest two were young and I couldn't stop crying. Keep in touch hun xx

AutumnBabyWinterMummy · 05/05/2020 20:10

@Spark27 I have felt completely the same today. Just nothing has cheered me up. Sometimes I think all you can do is get an early night and start again tomorrow! Hope you feel better in the morn. I just hope I get a good sleep as it seems one night I don't then the next I do x

LexiM · 05/05/2020 20:44

@Spark27 sorry you’re having a rubbish day, that was me yesterday... totally agree that an early night is the best thing to do. Hope tomorrow is a better day ❤️

@babymama09 just to echo everyone else on talking about how you feel including your angels... it sounds like you’ve got your hands full trying to organise the rooms and decorating. Now I’ve gone back to work everything has come to a standstill. I have zero energy after work, can just about cook dinner.

I’m also following the positive birth company. When I mentioned it to my husband he just mocks the whole breathing side of things and says “if you think it won’t hurt you are being stupid”... helpful as ever and I never said it wouldn’t hurt!! I think once he watches the video he will come around to understanding some of the benefits. I think it’s good to understand the process your body goes through and I see no harm in trying the breathing techniques and having a positive outlook. I did threaten to get a new birthing partner haha!

DollyDaph10 · 05/05/2020 21:19

@babymama09 Haven’t found out gender yet. Was considering going for private scan tomorrow to find out but DH really wasn’t keen (it was meant to be a surprise but thank goodness I told him ahead of it!) @Zaalfruit
Sounds trivial, but DH has realised our food delivery is arriving at same time as scan is booked so we have added conflict on cancelling a food delivery to go for a scan DH doesn’t think is needed. I think he would prefer I wait for the 20 week scan at the hospital as in his mind that’s much safer, and he said he would sacrifice not being able to be there if it means not putting us at extra risk. It’s a tough one.

DollyDaph10 · 05/05/2020 21:24

@Spark27 Sorry to hear you’ve had a hard day. It’s a really tough time to be pregnant, whether it’s your first and missing out on the things you looked forwards to experiencing or if it’s your 2nd, 3rd, 4th etc and you know in extra detail what things you and your partner are missing out on right now. It’s really hard being isolated from family and friends and not having partners at appointments. Birthing feels an extra scary concept. But just remember, day by day you are getting closer to meeting your baby. And life won’t always be this uncertain or difficult. It’s completely reasonable and expected to be feeling emotional, especially with all the hormones we have whizzing around us. I hope you feel a little brighter tomorrow, but if not get those worries and feelings out, sometimes just knowing others can listen helps xx

babymama09 · 05/05/2020 22:00

@LexiM thank you again for such kind words, it's so nice to be able to mention the girls and not have a strange reaction. As for your husband there is a TV series I have been glued to on BBC one called life and birth tell him to watch it and he will understand you, my dh watched a couple of episodes of one born every minute and he knows that it hurts like hell but so rewarding after wards I keep reminding him he has to wear the theatre stuff as my mum has always been in the room and he wants to be ib the room for this one which I cannot wait for. @DollyDaph10 have you got any guesses or feelings to what you might be having? I honestly cannot wait to find out, my three boys want a boy and my little girl wants a girl, I have tried to explain that you don't get to pick, at first she wanted me to have both and had to explain there's only one lol xx

Zaalfruit · 05/05/2020 22:17

@DollyDaph10 so hard for anyone else to understand what we are feeling . I’m obsessed looking at baby bumps and flutters feeling on google and YouTube . In essence driving myself mad - when is your 20 week appointment?

So sorry to hear some are having bad days . I have had a headache for the last few days and HR are not responding to me about maternity and holiday pay and the days I can carry over .

Decorating is such a chore at the moment can’t go shops, can’t see colours or no one is delivering . I wanted the bathroom redone make it more child friendly currently we just have a shower unit - but I wanted a bath fitted in not sure if that will happen now :/

@babymama09 you can always express your self here and talk about your angels . They are never forgotten and are a part of you x I grew up with my sisters in one room 3 of us we loved it we would argue and scream but 10 mins later best friends and my brother used to be so jealous . I am kinda sad that I won’t be having a few kids as I planned - it was so hard ttc.

DollyDaph10 · 05/05/2020 22:46

@babymama09 So initially DH thought boy and I kept imagining a little boy and was having strong ‘it’s a boy’ thoughts, but the past few weeks I keep thinking more and more of a little girl! When I was looking at baby clothes online I found myself drawn to all the baby girl ones. So I’m team girl and hubby is team boy. DH and I will be thrilled either way!
@Zaalfruit I’m the same way but still nothing! Weighed myself earlier and I’ve actually lost a pound rather than gaining, but trying not to fall into a anxiety spiral over it. I’d feel so reassured to feel some movements as my midwife didn’t listen for heartbeat at my appt so I haven’t heard it in 6 weeks! My 20 week scan is in 2 weeks! I’m still back and forth on going for private scan tomorrow :/ x

babymama09 · 05/05/2020 23:36

@Zaalfruit that is the same as my boys, my little girl actually chooses to camp out In their room just to feel included sometimes. She is "the boss" even if she is the youngest. Awww hun I am sure it will happen again for you, honestly when I was 18 I was told I might neve have kids and I am here with pregnancy 9 N baby number 7. My oldest keeps saying he wants his own space and I cannot see a way around it unless we give up our room. I don't think we have had the master room since living here 5 years ago.
@Dollydaph10, its hard isn't it when you don't know, I will be honest and I do not want to jinx anything I get really scared to say but I am probably leaning more to team pink and I say this because we mc last May and my pattern has always been boy then girl. I say I don't want to jinx it as six years ago I said the same about my lil boys pregnancy and was completely wrong so I am not dead set on it but my instincts are leaning more that way if that makes sense. I keep telling myself that everything will be fine and either way I just want a healthy baby like all of you on here.

6 weeks is a long time not to hear your baby hun, I would personally not be a le to resist but to go tomorrow. I don't think I could stand waiting the extra two weeks, I am finding it hard waiting for 7 days. Keep us informed though be great to know what you chose and we are all here if you want to talk.

Both of you thank you for your support it has meant so much to me to be able to talk without feeling like I am changing the happy mood. I feel comfortable opening up to you all.

Have you noticed there is so much more for girls than boys though? I mean when I was able to buy my daughter the first lot of pink things in asda I looked like a mad woman smiling and jumping around. X

BooMamaBear · 06/05/2020 07:03

4 kicks this morning to let me know she awake! I just want her kick all day but she's really quite in the day do I only if I sh lily feel her kicking in the morning and at night! I can feel them from the outside too so she must be kicking pretty hard! I remember with DD tho it was much later when I could feel her I wouldn't get up til I felt her kick and wouldn't go to sleep til she kicked either!!

BooMamaBear · 06/05/2020 07:04

Sent too early - Meant i only usually feel her kick in the morning or at bed time! I get a funny feeling in my tummy when she's moving! Xx

blankiesandunicorns · 06/05/2020 07:31

Hi everyone thanks for the new thread @Treaclepie19 !

Congrats on all the scans! Mine is Tuesday and I am counting the days! Can't wait to find out the sex and to hopefully get the reassurance as the last scan seems a life time ago and desperate to know everything's ok!

Hope everyone has a good day, sorry to see some people have been struggling. Iv had days like that too and it seems like they will never end but everyday is different 🧡

BooMamaBear · 06/05/2020 08:13

@blankiesandunicorns -not long to wait for you!! Mines the week after yours and still seems ages away I'll be 19w+2 so not quite 20 weeks!
I feel really nervous - with DD I didn't even know it was a anomaly scan so I wasn't worried where as I know it is now so I feel nervous!!
I know a posterior placenta means you can feel the baby earlier but does know if it can cause any problems? I've always had anterior until this time? Xx

blankiesandunicorns · 06/05/2020 08:17

@BooMamaBear I don't know much about placentas to be honest I don't even know what I had last time or what mine is this time! I will ask at my scan I'm curious now! It feels like it's taken ages to come around I have a daughter and a step daughter who ask everyday when it is! ☺️

BooMamaBear · 06/05/2020 08:23

@blankiesandunicorns -I know I'm getting so impatient coz I have CVS at 11 weeks (though I turned out to be 12+2 at the scan) it feels ages ago since I last saw her!
That's also why I know where my placenta is coz it can make CVS more difficult when it's at the back as the needle has to get to the back -they managed to do it ok though and that's why I can feel baby already as it's not cushioned by the placenta!! Xx

Zaalfruit · 06/05/2020 08:49

Scan countdowns !!! Ahh can’t wait for 20 week scan and then after the next set of worries 🤣

@BooMamaBear no idea about placentas either - before I got pregnant I was so naive I just thought you got pregnant took a test had a scan and everything else was just cooking the baby for 9 months .

Indigogirl88 · 06/05/2020 09:12

@babymama09 we want at least 3 or 4!

I've had some strange "contraction" type pains twice last night and once this morning, I think they might be Braxton hicks. Googled it, and they can start from 16w who knew!

Dp wants me to find out the gender but I know he'll be disappointed for a girl (argh!) So I might find out and then wind him up lol

As for the decorating I am trying to persuade do to do odd jobs over the bank holiday and then we can focus on baby after the 20w scan, mines on the 21st and sooooo that sounds like a plan right!?

bluemoon2468 · 06/05/2020 09:29

@Indigogirl88 I've definitely started getting braxton hicks this week as well. I can feel my uterus tightening up slightly alongside period pain type feelings. Having to breathe through them! Good opportunity to practise my hypnobirthing deep breaths though!

Spark27 · 06/05/2020 09:43

Scan day, arrrgggghhhhhh! Crazy how nervous I am compared to last time. I think it was a case of ignorance being bliss before. DH and DD are coming with and sitting in the car. It will be the 1st time DD has been out in the car for about 7 weeks. I think shes most excited about that and looking out of the window!

MrsD1990 · 06/05/2020 10:17

Sending love to you @spark27! Can't believe the day has come around already!! ♥️♥️

@dollydaph10 sending love to you whatever you decide to do! Your husband sounds like mine, I keep mentioning a private scan to check everything is ok but he is adamant we need to wait for the NHS one to limit potential exposure to the virus.

I think I felt very tiny kicks last night! I hope they were the baby, it was a completely new feeling, not gas or anything. Just had my hand on my tummy and felt the very little kicks. Got my husband to put his hand on my tummy and he felt it too! I would say they felt like tiny tiny kicks and not flutters but my husband says he thought they felt like flutters. I guess I was feeling it in my tummy and outside my tummy so felt like more to me. It was lovely ♥️♥️

Glitterbug86 · 06/05/2020 10:23

@Spark27 awh good luck and enjoy, how exciting 😀

@BooMamaBear At my 12 week scan I was told posterior or anterior placenta were both fine, was just something to bear in mind that you might not feel kicks until later with anterior. I think if the placenta is at the bottom, over the cervix opening, they keep more of an eye on that.

Have my first midwife clinic app today (18 weeks). First appointment since my 12 week one so had been counting down the days but now I'm all nervous 🤦🏻‍♀️ I think I wind myself up! Feel like my breast soreness is nearly gone this morn and I keep poking at myself trying to feel soreness. I think (hope) I just need to get out of my own head.
