I've got mine on wednesday. Excited and nervous. Keen to see baby again and check everything is ok. Really hoping to find out the sex

LexiM · 03/05/2020 21:01

Hope tomorrow goes well for you @Treaclepie19 and for you on Wednesday @spark27 - I feel like I’m living through all your lives this month hearing about your scans and trying to be patient.

I’m going back to work tomorrow after being furloughed for 6 weeks, part of me cannot wait because I’m keen to use my brain again and do something different but I have a feeling I am going to be tired as I’ve been living the luxurious life getting out of bed at 9am most days and relaxing when I like. I cannot seem to go to sleep early. That being said it won’t be crazy busy and I will be the only one in the office so there’s no pressure.

Did you everyone have a good weekend? I’ve done some chores today then mostly relaxed, my lower back/side is feeling sore today so I’ve tried not to overdo it. We had a sensible chat about names for the first time ever today and I feel like maybe we could actually come to a decision on a name we would both be happy to go with soon! 😂

CouscousEvaporator · 03/05/2020 22:05

Ahhh how come all your scans are this week, mines not for another 2.5 weeks ☹️ Jealous!!

@LexiM had a lovely chilled weekend! Went for some long walks! The name chat is exciting 🥰

NWnature · 03/05/2020 22:29

Good luck all having scans this week!!! Mines not til 22nd.

I’m not sure I’ve felt anything yet. Sometimes weird twinges mostly on the right side but who knows! Can’t wait for the scan to check everything is ok in there.

Is there anything in particular we should be doing at the moment? I’m doing the occasional workout but still haven’t started any pregnancy yoga / Pilates. Try to do kegels when I remember (not enough!) and not sure if I’m even doing them right.

Also has anyone looked at prams / buggies? My friend has bought a bugaboo and a YouTuber I follow had a cybex so those are the only two I know so far! We live in London so want something suitable here where the car seat clips straight in and out initially. Then we might need another for running/ walks on the Heath. Feel totally clueless!

Zaalfruit · 03/05/2020 22:37

@roarfeckingroar your Dh sounds like mine - he is comparing everything . He told me so much about travel system wheels and boot car spaces . I thought I was in a lecture 🤪

bluemoon2468 · 03/05/2020 22:38

@NWnature after doing quite a lot of research I've decided to get the Silver Cross Wayfarer travel system 😊

babymama09 · 03/05/2020 23:01

Hi ladies,

Has anyone got any tricks for back pain at all? Sorry but it's hurting like hell to sit, stand and lie down 😔😔

I am also one who suffers badly with ibs then I'm okay again and then it comes back it drives me mad, I drink loads of water and it doesn't always help.
Someone mentioned headaches I am with you on that I haven't touched a drop since finding out I was pregnant and wake up feeling really crappy.
I still haven't told my parents either, but I don't have family who make themselves exactly involved it's just me, my dh and my kids only two friends know.

Been a surprisingly quiet weekend hard to say when I have four kids but it has, had to stop doing my garden though coz of the weather which is typical.
Not bought nothing for baby yet, have a moses basket, travel cot and female clothes from my daughter but I don't even know sex of this one yet.

Hope ur all okay and those who have a scan good luck with it I cannot wait for mine 9 days encounting so hope they will tell me if its a boy or girl so I can prepare.

HerondaleDucks · 04/05/2020 07:54

@babymama09 deep heat and paracetamol both safe to use but they only do so much I'm afraid.

Spark27 · 04/05/2020 08:01

Good luck for today @Treaclepie19
So excited for you. Flowers

@Couscousevaporator my 12w scan moved my dates up a bit so I'm actually due 27 Sept (but wanted to stay in this group). So when I go for my scan I'll be 19w 4d. We were due to be on holiday next week (sad it's now obvs cancelled) so they wanted to get it in before in case baby wasnt playing ball and they needed to rescan me afterwards

BntTowers · 04/05/2020 08:23

@Spark27 we were supposed to be going on holiday on Saturday, I'm sad we are missing it, but I'm also glad we aren't stuck out in the US at the moment because of it!
MIL keeps asking us if we will book anything else before the baby gets here, we just keep saying that there's a global pandemic on so probably not... She is obsessed with going on holiday, they go aboard a least 3 times a year and go out in their trailer tent several other times. She doesn't seem to understand that this isn't a normal time to be pregnant and that actually we are almost half way through it so there's not going to be much time left (can you tell the DH talked to her last night and I was getting frustrated?).

How is everyone feeling this morning? At the moment I'm feeling ok, will see how that changes when I log onto my work computer. Try to have a soak in the bath for your back ache @babymama09 also like others have said paracetamol is ok to take when it gets too much.

Spark27 · 04/05/2020 08:35

@BntTower, I'm with you. I would love to be able to get a little holiday in, esp as it will be our last with just DD and shes of an age that she can enjoy it now, but cant really see it happening. If it does it will probably just be a few days in the UK, but I dont want to be going anywhere post Aug.

My mums really beginning to annoying me, going on about when the lockdown will be lifted. I get it's difficult for her not being able to see grandchildren, but she has no money/house/health worries so I'm getting annoyed with her constantly getting angry about it every day.

DD decided she wasn't going to go to sleep until 2230 last night, and then woke us up at 0500 as I'm a bit of a zombie. Esp as we had a late night fitting in a lot of Star Wars ready for today and the new one

Quiffy · 04/05/2020 08:41

@Treacle81 the nausea is horrific, hope you're feeling a bit better today.

@roarfeckingroar ach that's a pain. I couldn't not know when the other did. Where's his curiosity!

@Treaclepie19 enjoy your scan today ❤️❤️❤️

@LexiM good luck with work today, hope its not too tiring. Excited you're getting there with names!

@NWnature started to look, there's loads though! I really like the look of the Ickle Bubba stomp v4 in midnight bronze, but not looked in depth at the reviews. The Infababy ones seem to have a lot of awards without costing loads too.

@BntTowers that's frustrating on MIL, especially when we have absolutely no idea when we can or will.

18 weeks today! Feels like I just wrote 17... A week gone in a flash

Quiffy · 04/05/2020 08:43

@Spark27 haooy Star Wars day! Hope you can squeeze a little rest in at some point today.

CouscousEvaporator · 04/05/2020 09:12

@Spark27 ohh that makes sense about the holiday. I’m due 1st October and will be 21.5 weeks at my scan. Seems like ages away.

Happy Star Wars day all 🙂

BntTowers · 04/05/2020 09:36

I've had two snotty work emails already today. I've only told my immediate team I'm pregnant, I feel a little weird telling other people and I think even if I tell this person they still won't let up with being so demanding. I'm ignoring them for now. I feel like I need to learn some breathing techniques because they really get me worked up.

I feel like every week is going so slowly at the moment, I think it's just the monotony of every day being the same.

Buzz22 · 04/05/2020 09:56

Good luck for any scans today! Looking forward to more photos and seeing how many team 💕 or 💙 we have in this group!
Feeling impatient for my 20 week scan on the 22nd after having no success on the gender front at the private scan.

@NWnature I have so much energy the past few weeks, I have been doing pregnancy HIIT workouts on youtube and pilates...non pregnancy but avoiding any core work mainly legs and bum. I usually do yoga but I'm suffering from a shoulder injury and everytime I attempt yoga it aggravates it. So I'm currently holding off on that.
But I do have a good video I used earlier on and plan to again. Its pregnancy yoga for the pelvic floor

Was slightly concerned by the amount of energy I have but midwife said it's not a bad thing. Maybe being stuck at home isnt helping. Tried to have a rest day yesterday and ended up doing a 3 hour dog walking in the rain!

Glitterbug86 · 04/05/2020 10:09

@Treaclepie19 good luck for your scan today and enjoy ❤️

@Buzz22 my 20 week scan is also on the 22nd, feels ages away but hopefully it comes around fast!

Treacle81 · 04/05/2020 10:17

Morning girls!
@Quiffy Thanks, I know you’ve the same! starting to think I’ll forever feel sick now! 😔

@Treaclepie19 soo exciting, good luck!!!!
@roarfeckingroar that made me laugh so much, obv not telling him 🤣🤣🤣
@babymama09 I find Pilates and yoga great for back pain and trying to stay as mobile as possible xx

Treacle81 · 04/05/2020 10:19

@babymama09 I suffer with back pain since epidural with son and I do cat cow pose every morning and night 😊 xx

Treacle81 · 04/05/2020 10:20

Anyone noticing hair thinning? My hair is fine but recently think it’s thinner than normal 😒xx

NWnature · 04/05/2020 10:35

@Buzz22 our scan is the same day!

Amazing thanks for that video will give it a go this evening. Had been considering buying the Elvie pelvic floor trainer but it gets quite mixed reviews.

That’s brill you have loads of energy! Shows you are well rested and keeping moving is only a good thing from everything I’ve read!

Glitterbug86 · 04/05/2020 10:46

@NWnature that makes 3 of us so 😀

CouscousEvaporator · 04/05/2020 10:59

Ooh thanks @Buzz22 I’ve been meaning to look into pelvic floor exercise!

My mum felt the baby kick this morning. ❤️Feel so overwhelmed with it all.

CouscousEvaporator · 04/05/2020 11:00

Ooh and @Treaclepie19 enjoy your scan 🥰
