Hope everything goes well for your now @SkyBlue20!
NCT classes are really useful I had no clue about anything before DD it teaches you about what hormones appear when and like the impact of oxytocin and adrenaline-whet your contractions will feel like, how to breast feed, how to bath your baby etc I think they're doing them online at the minute -I felt a lot more confident after those classes as did my DH!
Just remember you don't know how to be a parent til you are one tho!

BntTowers · 05/05/2020 13:24

@SkyBlue20 its good to hear from you and that you are feeling better. I hope you get your good news soon x

@Zaalfruit I'm just the same, just got in from a quick walk and I feel a bit sick and dizzy. DH was walking too fast for me to keep up.

@LexiM that sounds like a lovely surprise ☺️

@bluemoon2468 I think I'm going to order mine soon, I've been following them on Instagram for a while.

I have a telephone appointment with the midwife today. She couldn't wait to be off the phone. She did say all blood tests have come back as normal and I'm already booked in for my 25 week appointment (I had no idea) I didn't get chance to ask any of the questions I wanted. She did say the 25 week appointment will have to be just me again, that doesn't give me much hope that DH will be allowed at the 20 week scan. I am hoping as it's not until the end of May things will have relaxed a bit by then...

DollyDaph10 · 05/05/2020 14:00

Just quickly read to catch up so sorry if I missed anyone else saying the same thing, but @Zaalfruit I’m in the exact same position re; lack of bump and no movements. I even managed to book in a private scan for tomorrow. My husband has now said he doesn’t think it’s a good idea due to coronavirus risk and he knows I want to go as I’m anxious, but feels like I need to wait a few more weeks for the essential snakily scan. I’ve paid the deposit only, but now I’m really confused on whether to go or not :/

DollyDaph10 · 05/05/2020 14:01

Oh my goodness anomaly got changed to snakily!! Sorry! No idea why that happened 🙈

DollyDaph10 · 05/05/2020 14:06

@SkyBlue20 Keeping everything crossed for you now lovely.

I’m loving reading up on everyone’s classes. I’m really keen to do the hypnobirthing course! X

babymama09 · 05/05/2020 14:07

Good afternoon ladies 👋👋👋, a very big welcome to those who have joined us and congratulations on your pregnancies. I haven't managed to catch up on everyone's posts but from what I read @LexiM and @Buzz22 it sounds like you and you families have been though an awful lot and I do hope you are both okay, big 🤗🤗🤗To you both.

I was tidying my daughters room the other week and she found Muslim cloths which were still brand new from when I had her. She's only five and said "mummy is this for the baby?" I said it was and she has hidden them in the first Christmas stocking we got after losing my first daughter (her big sis) ready for baby. She keeps hunting in her wardrobebow saying can this be for baby?
I don't even know the sex yet but don't have the heart to tell her no...

How is every one feeling today? Any more scans? I have mine in 7 days and god it can't come soon enough my anxiety is rocketing because I am not feeling baby move as much as I would like.

If I have missed anything I am so sorry but hope everyone is okay and doing well... Xxx

Indigogirl88 · 05/05/2020 14:11

@SkyBlue20 lovely to hear from you and sending big hugs xxx

@Treaclepie19 can you send a link for your blog? X

I'm feeling huge today, though I'm glad I have a few things that fit. And waiting for my delivery too. I've also had a lot of cramping.

Does anyone know whether they would have told me at the 12w scan the location of the placenta or is it the 20w? I think mines on the outside as i cant feel much!

Spark27 · 05/05/2020 14:24

@Skyblue20, lovely to hear from you. Sorry to hear the process has taken a while. Sending lots of love and positivity for the future. Xx

@Indigogirl88, I asked at the 12w scan and she said it seemed to be high (I commented on whether it might block the exit, ha), I cant remember if she said front or back, but as I cant remember I'm guessing it's at the back. I dont think they note it down until the 20w scan as it can move. If it seems low early on it can rise due to everything growing. I know if they think its low at the 20w scan they get you back in after 30w for scans to see if its moved up.

Indigogirl88 · 05/05/2020 14:25

On the scans thing, we are meant to be keeping it a secret but dp said he doesn't mind me finding out on my own....I might do and keep it to myself lol that's so mean though! He only wants to know if its team blue! So might have to be team yellow

Spark27 · 05/05/2020 14:28

@Zaalfruit I had the nausea revisit me at 18w. I remember thinking 'whhhhhyyyyy'. It was usually in the pm and lasted a few hours. Seemed to go after a week, but I'm now being revisited with headaches.

I didn't start feeling anything until I was 18w (it's my 2nd pregnancy). I was worried as I expected to earlier. Now (19w 3d) it's still very on and off. Nothing big, just some tapping and lava lamp feelings. I was getting worried and expected more. I'm sure everything it fine and baby is just chilled xx

CouscousEvaporator · 05/05/2020 14:42

@Indigogirl88 i asked at my 12 week and she said they only look at placenta location at 20w. I thought mine was anterior but I am not convinced now as I’m feeling movements on the outside so that will mean it’s not anterior, right??

I’ve also done the positive birth company pack. It was so useful for breathing techniques etc but some of what she says is not backed up by Cochrane reviews (particularly about tearing 😦) so I just took bits from it that were more suited to me. I am so fussy haha.
They have got a really good hour long post partum video on YouTube. That was soooo helpful.

I really really love the positive birth book by Milli Hill. It has a really nice visual birth plan in it.

@SkyBlue20 it is lovely to hear from you and I hope things continue to get on the right tracks for you xx

Treaclepie19 · 05/05/2020 14:54

@Indigogirl88 www.facebook.com/lifewithoutjesse/ here is my blog Smile

They didn't tell me about placenta position at my 12 week scan but did at my one yesterday. It's anterior which explains lack of movement.

Hi all- been absent for a few weeks but everything is alright. Had an 18 week midwife app today and heard baby's HB which was 135 😊 Scan in two weeks and consultant app too. Anyone else here needing Anti D? Hope everyone is doing well and staying healthy x

NWnature · 05/05/2020 15:12

Hey guys! I’ve downloaded the Positive Birth co course too. I like it so far. I’ve also got the Milli Hill book and my mum sent me the Clemmie Hooper one. Out of the three I like Siobhan’s tone the best personally and I think the relaxation stuff will be helpful, it’s definitely made me feel more confident and positive.

I think I am maybe having some feelings- can’t be sure though! Definitely can’t feel them from the outside.

@DollyDaph10 are you going to go? I had a look at our private place we went for our 8 week one and they have some appointments on Friday but I can’t decide whether to book or not! So difficult to decide what the best thing is.

babymama09 · 05/05/2020 15:41

Hi @CharlieBalf glad all is okay, @Dollydaph10 keep us posted with how you are and whether or not you decide to go, wish mine was this week quite tempted to ring and ask for mine to be brought forward I am sure that when they scan me I am going to closer to 17 weeks than 16 but I get so confused by it all my apps say two different things completely lol.

Anyone else started buying for their little ones... I want to start but can't until I get past a stage where I know baby is completely okay hydrops occurred last time between 12 and 20 weeks which is why they are supposed to scan me more. My youngest in 09 was diagnose at 16 weeks. 😕😕😕 I know I have had two healthy kids since my hyrdopic ones but it doesn't stop me thinking and getting anxious.

Sorry when I mention my angels I feel like I bring the mood down don't mean to...
Hope all is okay with everyone x

BntTowers · 05/05/2020 15:50

@babymama09 anyone mentioning angel babies does not bring the mood down. You need to remember them and it's good to talk about them.
Keep with the positive mindset and know they are looking our for your current little one.

I just saw a bargain for a next to me crib on a FB selling site, tried to contact her but she had taken the post down so quickly! It's a shame as I had even quickly convinced DH that it's a good deal even though we are waiting until 20 weeks to buy things...

CharlieBalf · 05/05/2020 15:55

@babymama09 we've got the basics, infact the pram and car seat arrived today so have had fun putting it all together and testing it in the garden 😂 Holding off on clothes/monitors/nursery decor untill after 20 weeks. We seem to have a dozen books already though!

DollyDaph10 · 05/05/2020 16:44

Still undecided on the scan! I’ve talked myself in and then back out of it over and over. Part of me wants the reassurance that all is ok, I have so much fear leading up to the 20 week anomaly scan. Part of me wonders if I will worry a lot after about coronavirus exposure. It’s such a tough call!
@babymama09 I’ve bought a onesie and a blanket, as saw them in the sale and couldn’t resist. I completely understand you’re reservations as I feel the same with wanting the reassurance now. Please feel free to speak about your angel babies! If you need to, don’t be scared to call the hospital and ask for your scan to be brought forwards x

babymama09 · 05/05/2020 17:34

@BritTowers and @DollyDaph10 thank you so much for your kind words. One of the reasons I still have anxiety is because of their loss and being pregnant always brings back that anxiety in full force if you get what I mean. My girls should have been 13 and 11 this year both in high school with their brothers or near enough. Not a day goes by where I don't think what if.

I have looked at the next to me crib and I love the idea that it's safe enough to be open next to you when baby needs you. There are some fantastic deals on that precious little ones website where it comes with crib, pram, car seat, bouncer, sling or holder and a swing. I get codes all the time through bounty and it's sooooo annoying when you know that you cannot grab a bargain when you see it. I have mentioned before I don't need the car seat as I have two already from my younger children no idea why I hung on to them but glad I did now!!
If anyone has younger children the icandy lime pram looks fab as it has the buggy board built into it.

Is anyone planning a c sec or are you all doing it naturally? I was basically told I am having a section which means baby should be here at 38 weeks, I am 16 weeks now. Seems like so long away but my youngest son is 7 in Sept and it looks like baby will born 2 weeks after his birthday which would be great.

@CharlieBalf I cannot wait to be able to do that, my daughter is going to love it every time I look at prams she's asking me to buy one then goes and gets her doll and pram and pretends to walk it round stating its what I have to do 😁

Because we live in a 3 bed and the small room is literally a box and our room is the 2nd bedroom I am considering buying a sofa bed for downstairs and giving this one up for the kids my boys are in the master room but my oldest is 14 and sick of sharing.
Is anyone else having to reconsider moving stuff round or decorating? We have to buy carpet for stairs N 2nd room I have been here 5 years and it's still not fully decorated now I am trying to get all of it done before this one arrives xx

MrsD1990 · 05/05/2020 18:03

@babymama09 we are hopefully moving before the baby comes - we live in a tiny one bed now so moving to a two bed. Still not 100% sure it'll happen because of all that's going on but either way I can't wait to start nesting!

Really good to hear all the good reviews of the positive birth company. I'm planning to sign up after the 20 week scan. I'm not fully convinced by everything they say but sounds like a good idea to have breathing techniques and feel in control etc.

Feeling more positive this week. Me and husband took the week of because we were working really long days lately and needed the head space. It's been really good for me mentally. Still counting down to the 20 week scan and birth though!!

DollyDaph10 · 05/05/2020 18:20

@babymama09
Of course, please feel free to talk about your babies here. You need an outlet for talking about worries you may have, as well as remembering your sweet angel babies.
This will be my first baby, so planning a natural birth unless advised otherwise. That deal looks incredible!

babymama09 · 05/05/2020 18:24

@MrsD1990, I am exactly the same. I want to get everything sorted prior to baby being here but I cannot order carpet because of current circumstances and cannot get paint because no where is delivering. I might try again at looking for paint as some of the DIY stores have reopened round here but whether they will deliver is another story.

I personally haven't heard of this course that your all talking about and don't suppose I will need it as having a c sec. But it's good you have all found something which is helping you.

I did used to make jewellery and had a blog on it and I also created a blog about my angels. Stopped doing both a while ago I broke my glasses and haven't replaced them yet. I am also on Instagram with my jewellery under Michelle royalz jewelery. I idd ifnd it so comforting doing it I might even try and get back into it when I can replace the glasses that it 😁😁

babymama09 · 05/05/2020 18:28

@DollyDaph10 doesn't it just I have so many different apps offering so many deals yet their expiry dates are too soon for me to do yet but I am sure more will come up. I have been trying to convince dh to let me do it early but he as well as me has reservations.

Thank you again, i was asked by my midwife if this was my 5th baby and had to explain I have had six children but have the four surviving. Not everyone knows what to say to me when I say that so being able to talk ion here to all of you really helps me.

Do you know what your having yet? I have been glued to one born every minute on all 4 it happens every time I am pregnant. X

Treaclepie19 · 05/05/2020 18:32

@babymama09 never feel you can't talk about your babies ❤

We're having to redecorate the spare room and have new carpet so our 4yo can move rooms.
No clue how that will happen during lockdown mind.
