Welcome @AutumnBabyWinterMummy Smile

@BooMamaBear I've got an anterior placenta again so explains why I'm not sure I'm feeling baby. How exciting for you❤

Thanks for all the support today everyone, I'm feeling much better this evening.
Except for worrying that I might have hurt where I had my injection earlier by showering so soon after 🙈 Ah well.

Sorry to hear about your Dads @LexiM and @Buzz22
I was getting flutters but I also forgot that funny feeling you get when you're baby moves I knew instantly that it was her coz it doesn't feel like anything else - before I'd get twitches and stuff snd i wasn't sure but this feels so different!! Xx

Spark27 · 04/05/2020 22:59

Congratulations @AutumnBabyWinterMummy. How have you found the pregnancy so far?

Treaclepie19 · 05/05/2020 06:39

@otterbaby how is your arm today? Mine is so sore 🙈 Also gone a bit red where I had it done.

Hello @AutumnBabyWinterMummy welcome to the thread!

Ouch! Not looking forward to the whooping cough vaccine. It is notoriously painful. The reason being it also contains a tetanus booster. Tetanus is a toxin that suppresses muscle activity so the vaccine gives you a seriously achy arm. Anyone that's not had it yet...choose your suffering arm wisely like the ladies have already said. In the right arm will be good to force you to sleep on your left side. But if you need to use you right hand a lot in the following days it maybe best to get it in the left.
I hope it eases up for you all soon.

Still waiting for baby movement here but I'm not sure what I'm supposed to be feeling! My private scan told me I had an anterior placenta so I assume I should feel it sooner rather than later.

I really want a way to keep a tally of the boys 💙 and girls 💕 we are expecting. I think the baby boys are outnumbering the baby girls at the moment.

Buzz22 · 05/05/2020 07:55

*posterior placenta not anterior!

Quiffy · 05/05/2020 08:11

@Treaclepie19 I’m so sorry for your scan experience, seems so unfair that you need to wait another 4 weeks

Quiffy · 05/05/2020 08:11

*jealous even.

BntTowers · 05/05/2020 08:52

Welcome to our new comers.

I get the jealous/ worry feeling too. Yesterday I felt like what little bump I had disappeared so was in a rubbish mood all day. Today I remembered that on Sunday it seemed to pop out whist walking as I've had a dance around and ran up and down the stairs a few times and it's back again. I think baby was just sitting towards my back yesterday and hiding.

How is everyone this morning?

AutumnBabyWinterMummy · 05/05/2020 09:50

@Spark27 Thank you! I found out quite late on that I was pregnant around 8 weeks, it was a bit of a shock as hadn’t been trying (were going to wait until next year) but a happy surprise. So I only tested because I felt dreadful, but not the type of dreadful I’d ever felt before and I knew something wasn’t right! Now I’m in 2nd tri feel myself fully again which I’m loving but just in the last 3 days I seem to have what I’m guessing is round ligament pain? Does anyone else have this? I also think maybe feeling so well because I’ve been furloughed, so lots of time to rest! What’s everyone’s else’s job situation at the moment are you working or off? I am anxious for when the day comes that I will need to go back to work.

BooMamaBear · 05/05/2020 10:07

Welcome to the new ladies!!
I've always had an anterior placenta but this time it's posterior and it's not my first pregnancy which is why I think i could feel her at only 17+1 -she's off again now moving around!! Xx

Treaclepie19 · 05/05/2020 10:16

Thanks @Quiffy
I'm feeling much better today. I think we're going to tell our 4yo this weekend and then I'm excited to update my blog as well. I started a blog after we lost our little boy last time and its all about him obviously but I'm going to change it a little to be about our family and talk about pregnancy after loss. I've not shared much on there while I've been pregnant because I haven't known how to talk about what I'm feeling without mentioning this baby.
So yeah, feeling more positive 😊

  • And I think @Treacle81 you said you were back with the nausea, and somehow I’ve managed to keep it going too... only 17 weeks today but still badger like 🙄

CouscousEvaporator · 05/05/2020 10:31

Welcome any new joiners 🙂

@LexiM and @Buzz22 I’m very sorry to hear what your dads went through xx

@otterbaby thanks for the whooping cough tip, not looking forward to that!!

Definitely thinking boys outnumber girls on this thread. I think ours is a girl, DH thinks boy.

Treacle81 · 05/05/2020 10:55

Hi all, just checking in to say congrats on all the scans, it's so lovely that you're all now finding out the sex! Have been keeping up and glad to hear you're all alright for the most part. Don't want to comment much and bring the mood down but just wanted to say hello and congrats 💕 xx

otterbaby · 05/05/2020 11:25

@Treaclepie19 still knacks, basically showered one handed this morning haha. Mine seems a little swollen as well, but no redness. What a treat!

@Buzz22 if you do decide to keep a tally, I'm team girl 💕

I've been feeling some movements for the past week or so. They seem to happen early morning or when I'm just crashed on the couch. My pregnancy app told me they're only awake for about 6 hours a day at the 18 week gestation so try not to worry ladies, they're probably awake when you're asleep at 2am!

otterbaby · 05/05/2020 11:26

@SkyBlue20 lovely to hear from you, hope you're doing alright. How are you feeling? X

Treaclepie19 · 05/05/2020 11:28

@otterbaby it's no fun is it?
Mine is quite red. Maybe showering so quickly after did actually affect it 🙈

Treaclepie19 · 05/05/2020 11:29

@SkyBlue20 hope you're doing okay Flowers
Never feel you can't talk to us x

Thanks ladies, I'm ok - it's been a long process that involved every type of treatment available and took over five weeks thanks to COVID-19 meaning a lot of processes are delayed but I had an MVA on Fri just gone so hopefully it's now all sorted, just a waiting game now to do another test (and actually hope it's negative!) and then wait for my TOTM, then we'll start TTC again as soon as we can :-) It's been bumpy but I think I'm over the worst of it now.
I really am so thrilled that you're all doing ok, I really like hearing about healthy pregnancies as it's kind of that reassurance that they're more common than what I went through - that whooping cough jab does not sound fun though!
Sorry to hear all of your appointments are still all over the place due to COVID-19 though, I hope maternity care will be one of the things they ease up on sooner rather than later, it's no fun not having your partner with you for you or them!
xx

BooMamaBear · 05/05/2020 11:44

Some of the best muslin cloths I got with DD were Sainsbury's ones - I got some from mother Mothercare but with the amount of time you have to wash m they didn't last very well and turned quite rough whereas the Sainsbury's Tu ones were cheaper and better! Xx

Zaalfruit · 05/05/2020 12:54

Ooh hiya ladies . I missed so much over the last few days - nice to hear about all the genders .

Feeling a bit low still about no bump and flutters just waiting not very patiently for my 20 week scan.

@SkyBlue20 so nice to hear from you and your update . Please don’t feel that you can’t express yourself here - wishing you all the best x

Loving all the tips and where to purchase things - the moment I have my 20 week scan I want to purchase everything you have all mentioned . I really want to go to antenatal classes and learn how to be prepared for baby . Husband and I have no clue on how to look after baby .

Anyone else getting random feelings of nausea? I thought by week 18 it doesn’t happen anymore .

LexiM · 05/05/2020 13:01

Thanks for all the recommendations, I find it so useful.

Definitely feeling better today after an early night, doesn’t sleep make all the difference. I’m trying to be better with screen breaks and drinking water today, so far no headache!

@SkyBlue20 lovely to hear from you and I’m glad you’re ok, I have my fingers crossed for you xx

Part of me is glad I’ve read your comments on the whooping cough injection, and part of me isn’t. They are the kind of needles I hate, I hadn’t thought much of it before now. I’m going to try booking mine for 24 weeks on the same day I see the midwife.

I’ve got a little maternity package coming tomorrow from New Look - really impressed with the speed considering I ordered over the weekend. I have had to get some jeans, mine feel fine in the morning but by the afternoon they are digging in on my bump.

This morning before I left for work a parcel arrived and my friend had sent me a basket of goodies like fudge, sparkling elderflower and crackers. Glad I’m up to eating again now, it was just such a lovely surprise!

bluemoon2468 · 05/05/2020 13:08

For those of you who have mentioned antenatal classes, we have just finished watching the Positive Birth Company's digital hypnobirthing pack, and have started their postpartum pack which covers topics like birth recovery, sleeping, feeding, mental health etc. I can't recommend both courses highly enough - I am now a total hypnobirthing convert and can't wait for my birth, and the postpartum pack is especially useful at the moment with reduced antenatal support 😊
