@Treaclepie19 I have the supplies that I can make one, which is lucky. Suppose we have a while to wait to see what the guidelines say over the next few weeks. Who knew we'd have such worries during pregnancy!

Treaclepie19 · 13/05/2020 10:13

@Quiffy crazy isn't it?

If it helps I've seen lots of of patients wearing masks when I've been to the hospiral for scans. You won't look out of place.

I managed to sleep til later this morning but still not as late as I would have liked thanks to our annoyingly vocal cat that likes to sit on you and purring loudly early in the morning. It’s hard to be mad as it’s quite sweet really.

@otterbaby I also work for an event and I’m back off furlough for a bit sorting everything since we cancelled but expect I may go back on. I agree about saving money on petrol!

@Indigogirl88 I would say my skin is clearer than it used to be but certainly not glowing and at times dry. I’m still waiting for that radiant look 😂

@Quiffy I totally agree about doing something not on your phone before bed, makes all the difference to me too. Hope the pillow is the reason you slept better.

Ah @BntTowers I didn’t realise we had the same due date, glad it’s not just me! Your husband must be so disciplined to work in silence all day long. Do you ever chat whilst working? I can’t keep quiet for that long hehe.

@Lucylou37 thanks for sharing the video I’m going to have a look.

LexiM · 13/05/2020 10:22

On the mask front I didn’t realise the guidance was to wear one generally I thought it was in shops etc if social distancing is hard. I was made to wear one in the doctors and hated it, I overheated quickly but totally get it’s important if they can reduce the risk. I can see governments comments about people using them incorrectly though as I’ve seen lots without the top pinched tight to the nose.

Treaclepie19 · 13/05/2020 10:30

It does say in shops and transport but for some reason I figured hospitals would be one you needed to. I'll ring closer to the time and ask though.

OP posts:
Treaclepie19 · 13/05/2020 10:31

(I'd definitely rather not wear one) and completely agree about them being pointless for most. They were mainly being fiddled with when I last went.

Good morning girls, just had a quick catch up on your posts, @Indigogirl88 I don't have spots as such one or two have randomly appeared but I have very itchy skin, my back, legs, arms tummy all soooo itchy at the moment but this happened in all my pregnancies.

@Quiffy they provide masks at the ultra sound. They have a box there ready for those who don't have masks, so please don't worry you will get one.
Can't believe I have to wait three weeks for another scan. Those of you who have one coming up sooner it will fly by to the date. I haven't been able to tell the kids what they think baby is as dh wants to be sure first and doesn't know yet so it's still a guessing game for my lot but I am feeling soooo happy with predicted sex and there was 2 ppl who said it I don't think they could be wrong do you??

How is everyone??

BooMamaBear · 13/05/2020 10:42

My 20w scan is Tuesday it's taking aaaaaages!!
I already I'm having a girl but just want to know everything is ok -she's moving so I'm hoping all is well!
I'm craving twix bars keep sending DH out to buy me multipacks!! I don't totally eat much chocolate coz I find it too sweet so can't eat much and have to be in the mood!!
Gonna wait til 24weejs before i buy anything like I did with DD - got sleepsuits and vests from DD but will buy some new stuff too! X

BooMamaBear · 13/05/2020 10:44

Congrats on scans @babymama09 and @blankiesandunicorns -glad all is well xx

Quiffy · 13/05/2020 10:56

I think it's more in Scotland, the FM said to wear in places where social distancing is hard, which I guess would be hospital. It was really hard with the corridors last time. I don't want to wear one nor do I not want to wear one - it's very hard! At least I have some hand santitiser now and my appointment has been changed to a hospital that is only for maternity patients.

@babymama09 think there's a good chance if two said. Very exciting, hopefully the 3 weeks won't drag!

I'm already flagging at work, been at it since 8 and just want to have a nap and ignore all work. When does the energy kick in?!

BntTowers · 13/05/2020 10:59

@LexiM I think there might be someone due on the 16th too, I'm sorry but I can't remember who so there's a little group of us mid month.
The silence drives me insane, I get a dirty look when I even yawn. I'm thinking or ordering a desk for the dining room so I can get away from it. Going to do a big IKEA order soon anyway to get some drawers and a wardrobe for the nursery.

I hadn't even thought about masks at scans. I know my stepdads dad was in hospital a few weeks ago and when he was picked up they gave stepdad and him a mask to wear in the car home.

Indigogirl88 · 13/05/2020 11:27

@Quiffy I'm flagging massively today already im trying not to drink more than one coffee a day but struggling

I've not thought about masks either so better prepare for the scan next week

The skincare I ordered was from facetheory as they are organic and you can select the ingredients to put in, and I swotted up for a couple of days on what was safe during pregnancy

Treacle81 · 13/05/2020 11:30

Hi girls! Got 4 days intensive training for work so just catching up whilst in a break. Congrats @blankiesandunicorns and @BooMamaBear on your girls 💕 think that’s team pink in front by 2 if not mistaken. @babymama09 I had rubbish sleep last night, up at 2, 4 then 6 with v itchy legs. I know can be linked with liver probs (which I’ve had) so just need to keep an eye on it but yea hoping it’s just the pregnancy related reason! My spotty skin seems to be clearing too @Quiffy but also v dry, adding an oil to my night cream. I will be wearing a mask at scan n Tues, none of the nurses were wearing them at my 12 wk one, wondering if might be different xx

Aquablue1123 · 13/05/2020 11:41

Hi girls,

I've been catching up on the thread.

I'm so tired today even though I had a solid 8 hours of sleep (according to my watch). Crazy dreams though ... so random.

I'm really anxious and a bit fed up today, it's the dreaded fear of the up and coming scan next Tuesday; I will be 20 weeks. I'm excited on one hand but terrified on the other. I haven't felt any flutters over the past two days so I'm worrying.

@Indigogirl88 haha I think the glow is a myth too, my face has cleared up though. Do you know what I've also noticed not sure if it's just me but I hair doesn't get greasy anymore, I'm amazed!

Does anyone have any recommendations for prenatal pilate workouts that are easy to follow?

Congrats on the gender reveals :-) more girls in the group 🥰

Xx

Aquablue1123 · 13/05/2020 11:50

I forgot to share this. My cousin sent me this, it's a Chinese gender prediction table. Mine was true which was funny and I tested a few friends ... just a bit of fun if you need a distraction from work. Haha

So it's the month you conceived and the exact age you were when you conceived. Would be interesting to see if it's worked for you guys too 😬👏🏼

@Aquablue1123 wrong for me! Says I'm having a girl!

Spark27 · 13/05/2020 12:54

@Aquablue1123, wrong for me. Says I should be having a boy.

I had a good nights sleep i think, but the dreams are still crazy. Still feel knackered too. I find it so difficult to get up in the am. Fortunately DH is happy to get up with DD.

My skin was terrible in the 1st tri but seems to be a lot better now. I wouldnt say I glow, but I'm not sure if the lack of make up, staying in and stress of Covid is adding to this. I've been using Centraben the last few weeks and it helped clear up the spots. I also get really itchy in the evenings. Back, sides, legs. Having to smother myself in moisturiser, which I suppose can only be a good thing.

It's also looking unlikely that I'll get back to the office before maternity leave starts. My work is still working on keeping me out til the 12th June. Then the RCOG says we shouldn't be in once we hit the 3rd tri. That only gives me a 3 week window in the middle. I might get in for a day to try and get admin sorted but who know, it all depends on nursery.

I will definitely be sending DD back to nursery when it opens though. I think it will be so important for her development, and my sanity

MrsD1990 · 13/05/2020 13:00

@Aquablue1123 the table says I'll be having a girl!! We don't know yet and not sure if we're going to keep it a surprise or not.

My scan is on Monday. I'm a bit scared of the journey there - we're in London so I have to get a bus there and they look super crowded. I hope the nurses are wearing masks at my scan - I was paranoid about Covid after my last scan because the sonographer obviously can't keep their distance from anyone and they see so many people. If we both wear masks it at least lessens the chance of someone giving the virus to the other.

On skin, a few weeks ago my skin was great, right now it's quite spotty. A lot more than usual. Just letting it run its course and doing my normal skin care, hopefully it calms down!!

I don't seem to have felt as many movements as everyone else. Pretty worried - this scan can't come soon enough! Hope little bean is ok.

Treaclepie19 · 13/05/2020 13:04

@MrsD1990 do you know where your placenta is? Mine is anterior and it makes such a difference. I'm starting to think im feeling baby now and then but I'm 19 weeks and not confident.

@Spark27 I'm knackered too. My DH brought DS downstairs this morning and I fell asleep instead of getting ready 🙈

As for schools we've decided that if things happen as suggested we won't send him back. Not because of the virus but because he struggles with school anyway without the measures they're putting in place. He wouldn't cope with being in a different classroom/different teacher/less of his friends. So any of the benefits are going to be ruined by the negatives making him not want to go.
I'll reassess nearer the time because I reslly do want him to be able to go back and do his transition to reception.

Aquablue1123 · 13/05/2020 13:05

@Spark27 @bluemoon2468 hahah oh well that solves it ... it's rubbish 🤷🏼‍♀️🤣.

@MrsD1990 ah would be interesting to see however by the looks of it, it's just a myth. 🤣

Oh well, I do love wasting a bit of time when I'm supposed to be hard at work. Where is my motivation ... come back please?!?

I'm now sat at my desk googling good food recipes for tea! Crispy beef it is 😬

MrsD1990 · 13/05/2020 13:40

@Treaclepie19 no idea where my placenta is, I'll have to ask on Monday!

@Aquablue1123 I'm with you on that, I'm struggling with work today!! Over half way through the day though!

LexiM · 13/05/2020 13:59

@BntTowers ah you must be tolerant, I would have told my husband to put up with me by now haha! I’m struggling to order what I want on Ikea, their stock is so slow at coming back in. Think I’ve got more chance of the stores re-opening now!

I’ve just come home from the office as have a conference call in a bit and don’t have the technology there!.. now all I want to do is eat. I barely eat anything at work.

I presume if the hospital want masks to be worn to scans they will provide them.

Good luck to everyone having scans in the next week, hope you can enjoy it once there.

Treacle81 · 13/05/2020 15:13

Girls, quick q before I go for food shop. Really craving coleslaw, hearing mixed reports. Any of you being eating shop bought? Been ok? Getting fed up with salad dressings but can’t eat it plain xx

bluemoon2468 · 13/05/2020 15:14

@Treaclepie19 I've been eating it regularly! Didn't even consider that it might be a problem!

otterbaby · 13/05/2020 15:30

@Treacle81 I've been avoiding cold 'pre-prepared' foods just because of the listeria concern...but tbh that's probably just me being overly cautious.
