@Quiffy no hes not apologised yet, probably because I havent guilt tripped him enough!
I'm getting hip pain even with the pillow so ive put a thinner pillow between my legs which helps a bit and I use the bigger pillow for my back. I'm also loving my wedge pillow

19 weeks today! I think I'm going to tell my employer this week....wish me luck!

Lucylou37 · 12/05/2020 08:29

@Quiffy I feel your pain! I used to suffer from sciatica and it's flared up over the past few weeks, especially during the night! The pain starts in my lower back and goes all the way down my bum and leg! I'm not sure if your's Is the same but I found a great YouTube video by an American lady who does yoga especially for sciatica! Even if you don't have it, it's a great twenty minutes to stretch out the back and legs! I'll see if I can find the link xxx

bluemoon2468 · 12/05/2020 08:29

I'm still taking the full Boots pregnancy 2 part vitamin including the DHA (omega) capsule. Definitely experiencing the backed up issues, but feel too guilty to the baby to not take it!

HerondaleDucks · 12/05/2020 09:15

@Treaclepie19 so sorry to hear about your stressful time. I hope you are ok!

In the last 3 days I have developed a kicker, it feels like being poked.
I've been playing music and reading to the bump. Seems to really enjoy classical, so keeping that up.

After all that stuff with the PIMS nurse I've been eating super healthy and going for lots of walks. Getting so so sick of lockdown now.

I've been taking pregnacare religiously, it has 2 capsules to take. I also take sertraline so I feel guilty enough about needing to rely on that that I always make sure to take the vitamins.

MrsD1990 · 12/05/2020 09:47

@quiffy I need these tips too - another rubbish night's sleep for me and I feel so tired, don't know how I'll do any work today!

Quiffy · 12/05/2020 10:01

@mrsd1990 me either - I've done very little so far and it's nearly 10am. Not helped by the fact it's my first day back after a holiday. Decided "fudge it" and had an iced coffee to help.

@Lucylou37 I'll definitely give it a try. I have a chronic pain thing and tried yoga before to no avail but I do feel like I need a good stretch.

@Indigogirl88 Get that guilt trip on, it's well deserved. Especially when you'll be working, not fair at all. I'll try with a normal pillow between my legs tonight. Good luck with work!

@HerondaleDucks classical music! Now I feel bad as I've been listening to emo music and binge-watching murder shows oops...

It's a lovely day here and I really want to go for a walk, but I have the fear of leaving the house. Especially since there's always lots of people walking where we live. Starting to consider doing laps of my living room to burn some calories as I'm ravenous all the time.

Zaalfruit · 12/05/2020 10:02

Good morning - dh apologised yesterday evening but then played on his psp till 3am- ish today and was shining his phone light - which annoyed me so much I told him get out Because now you have woken me up and I need to go bathroom . I was so annoyed. I’m not speaking again he tried to be nice and say he will do the wash load but I’m not having it .

@bluemoon2468 that’s how I felt guilty but I do forget to take the pills now and then .

I’m so annoyed that they moved my scan to Thursday - I just want to see if baby is alright and healthy . (I’m 19 weeks completed today )

Treaclepie19 · 12/05/2020 10:03

@Quiffy 😂 enough music here too and not much appropriate for a baby. They can't understand anyway 😁

Zaalfruit · 12/05/2020 10:05

@quiffy I’m been watching vampire movies throughout pregnancy 😂🤣 and lots of horror and murder mystery .

@HerondaleDucks omgosh you are reading to the bump and playing classical music - my dh has been telling stupid jokes to the bump 😂 I need to wise up !

I’m a back sleeper and I try to sleep on my side but I just revert To my back - I feel slight pressure on my spine tried to do stretches but felt more pain.

Treaclepie19 · 12/05/2020 10:34

Enough?! I meant emo 😂

Baby and I have been living on repeats of Location, Location, Location and Big Bang, or CBeebies. If I didn't have DD here I would be watching crime dramas all day.

My achievements for the morning have been booking to get my garden wheelie bin cleaned. I opened it this morning and nearly vommed. And I think I've decided on my maternity leave. I'm going to take 10 months as maternity and then the other 2 months as leave. I'll mull it over for a few weeks before I submit my forms.

I seem to go through waves when it comes to sleeping. A few terrible nights with constant waking and needing to wee, and then a few nights of it being ok. I've got a huge U shaped pillow and it's working for me at the moment. Think I've worked out the angling of my shoulders so they dont ache too much.

Sorry some of you are having problems with DH's. Maybe it's their way of rebelling and showing that they can do what they want (phah, we all know we're in charge) before the babies arrive?

BooMamaBear · 12/05/2020 11:10

I love crime dramas but yeah usually end up watching Frozen 2 or My little pony!! Have been watching some pregnancy programs only when I'm awake at night coz they're not suitable for DD and DH hates them!!
I'm just taking vit D now -my muscle condition affects my swallowing so the multi vitamins are too big I was taking folic acid til week 17 then my Mw said I can stop taking that just continue vit D!
My midwife said all my bloods came back fine and my iron levels are fine too do don't need supplements thankfully- ferrous sulphate always blocks me up!
My DD asked a while ago how the baby got in my tummy -mummy and daddy and a little bit of magic satisfied her but since I've had had 'how does the baby come out'!! She's only 4 thought I'd have a bit longer -so I explained sometimes the DRs take the baby out of the mummies tummy - so she said but 'how did I come out' -I had to tell her mummies have a magic way fur babies to come out I don't want to lie to her but need to preserve her innocence -I think it is pretty magic anyway!! Xx

Treacle81 · 12/05/2020 11:37

I’m loving serial killer podcasts at night (oops)!!! 😵🤣xx

HerondaleDucks · 12/05/2020 12:01

Looks like you're going to have investigative detectors with all this exposure to crime and serial killers 😂😂

Indigogirl88 · 12/05/2020 12:21

I need to decide on leave as well... just not come to any conclusions yet

Zaalfruit · 12/05/2020 13:34

I really want to take a year off !! But financially that won’t be viable my work only pays for the first 11 weeks then it’s the govt pay and I don’t feel like I have saved enough to take a year off . Just feels a shame to go back to work during the summer holidays .

@BooMamaBear love your explanation to your dd.

@Spark27mg dh way of making it up is here is my debit and credit card go wild that’s what he said . I said okay fine buying myself a green Rolex with the Amex . Enjoy the repayments

Indigogirl88 · 12/05/2020 13:56

Hi ladies, I know this is a bit out there, but has anyone come across the placenta prevention thing whereby they preserve the placenta in tablet form and you can take them after the birth, for aiding recovery, hormones and breastmilk?

I've started doing some research, but if anyones interested let me know and I'll share some links. Dp on the other hand thinks it's the most disgusting thing in the world

LexiM · 12/05/2020 14:25

@Quiffy have total sympathy with you about sleeping. I was wake at 4am this morning as I was uncomfortable, then needed a wee then my brain woke up and that was it! I have the u shaped pillow and use it with the u at the end of the bed and put the long length between my thighs/knees depending on what’s more comfortable. I’ve suddenly become ultra aware of my bump at night, it’s just there now which I know sounds so stupid.

@Zaalfruit oh dear your husband really doesn’t get the hint. Is he playing on the PS/ phone in the same room as you’re trying to sleep?! Hope things went well with your employer.

@indigogirl88 I’ve heard of the placenta capsules but it’s definitely not for me, I couldn’t be bothered with having to think about boxing it up and sending it off etc. Although ive heard it’s straight forward. I have nothing against someone else doing it but I’m happy for the hospital to dispose of mine!

bluemoon2468 · 12/05/2020 14:35

@Indigogirl88 I don't find it disgusting (in the pill form, wouldn't be grilling and eating it haha) but seems like a bit of an expensive gimmick to me 😕 I've seen a lot of anecdotes about the benefits but no real scientific evidence...

Indigogirl88 · 12/05/2020 14:41

@bluemoon2468 I know right at £200 might as well just take additional iron tablets or steak, anyone? Haha

Zaalfruit · 12/05/2020 14:51

For the placenta we can donate it right for stem cell research right ? I wanted to do that ... however not sure how to .

I couldn’t stomach eating it -

I have emailed Hr about questions in regards to maternity leave and pay and sent chaser emails they have not responded to me .

bluemoon2468 · 12/05/2020 17:52

@Zaalfruit I looked into cord blood donation but they only collect it from certain hospitals and mine wasn't on the list 😔 Plus it's incompatible with delayed cord clamping which I definitely want.

LexiM · 12/05/2020 18:01

Yes I’d read that the baby needs the nutrients in the cord and you can only donate if you don’t prolong the clamping of the cord.

BooMamaBear · 12/05/2020 18:44

They don't collect it from my hospital I wanted donate it for research purposes as it contains stem cells they might be able to find out some more about my genetic condition! Xx

babymama09 · 12/05/2020 18:49

Afternoon ladies sorry not messaged been trying to catch up on everybody's posts.

I had my scan today 16 weeks baby is fine and a wriggle worm kept putting the cord in between its legs. They have told me they are 90% sure they know what sex it is but I will let you know when I know for certain. I am absolutely made up there is no hydrops present and baby is very health. Has anyone else had a scan today or have one coming up? Can now start my shopping is everybody okay?
