Argh ranty post alert!

Dp has decided to take some time off this week and go off to places, which is so annoying as I'm saving my annual leave (had I known I'd have booked a day as well!) To sort his head out. Well I'm sorry, does my head not need clearing arent I done with lock down?!?! Now I'll be stuck in working, with a fuzzy head and nowhere to go unless I walk argh!

Treaclepie19 · 11/05/2020 11:47

@Spark27 try not to worry. Its only meant to be as bad as mine was in 1/4 people.
When I had it last time it only ached a bit and then went away. Hope it goes okay.

@Indigogirl88 - I feel you !! I’m
Not speaking to dh still. Where is he going and why didn’t he tell you !

@Treaclepie19 I hope they give your results quick - with a uti in my doctors they normally tell you straight away .

2 more sleep till my scan - I’m so nervous been eating so much to keep my nerves at bay - been thinking the worst I looked at stats for people with under active thyroid and full term - not promising at all . Especially with everything going on , they have provided me with very little care and support . Just praying there is a healthy baby in me - told dh if it doesn’t happen I don’t want to try again I don’t think I could handle it .

Treaclepie19 · 11/05/2020 11:52

@zaalfruit it's because the normal dip test wasn't showing as a definite and ive already had antibiotics so they've sent it to be checked thoroughly to see if it is an infection and if so what antibiotics it needs.
I'm frustrated as I had this all the way through with my 4yo. Thought I'd escaped it.
Having a bit of a low day today so hopefully I'll snap out of it.

@Zaalfruit hes decided to game all day (and night by all accounts) argh!

I hope your scan goes ok, I'm the same and just trying to keep myself occupied for a week or so. To be fair I'm kind of glad I going on my own now, I'll be chilled and I can worry on my own for a bit. Perhaps it'll be my "me time". He wont be walking in this weather!

@Treacle81 nice to put a face to a name on the fb group. I hope you're taking it easy today

Glitterbug86 · 11/05/2020 11:58

Hi @zaalfruit - are those stats not based on people with untreated under active thyroid? Or is it for people on replacement medication?

I could be wrong but I think baby only really relies on your thyroid hormones in the earlier part, and begin to produce their own some time around 16 weeks.

I read your post interest (and worry!) as I also have underactive thyroid. I used to take T3 only (meaning my FT4 would be virtually 0) but decided to switch to T4 when we wanted to start trying for a baby (as it's the conventional medicine). I managed to get pregnant less than a week later though and this was a worry of mine .. that the T4 wouldn't have had the time to build up very much when I became pregnant.

What dose are you on and when did you last have a blood test? And do you know what the result was?

Spark27 · 11/05/2020 12:06

I'm keen for the fb group, but only use mumsnet on the app on my phone. Can I send a dm through this or do I need to go to the proper site to do it (worried I wont be able to remember my password and lock myself out forever, ha)

Indigogirl88 · 11/05/2020 12:28

@Spark27 I thought that but they send you a link to your email address and you should be able to get in

Treaclepie19 · 11/05/2020 12:52

Ooh I'm not sure. I just use the site on my phone browser so have no clue 🙈

Thanks @Indigogirl88

Hi girls! Hope you are all good. A few of us are 19 wks today and I’ve scan on 19th can’t wait!!! Partner is removing his beard today, head was shaved a few weeks ago, tbh it badly needed sorted but complete removal 😵!! If it’s anything like his head tho will grow back v fast! Aww so exciting hearing the first little movements and I can’t wait for partner to feel them! I had zero energy yest and slept loads but feel like a different person today and managed boxercise at 8am!! xx

DollyDaph10 · 11/05/2020 13:54

I’m 19 weeks now and can’t wait to feel movements!

Buzz22 · 11/05/2020 16:10

@Treaclepie19 the pink could quite possibly be from having an internal exam. I know when I had had some bleeding before and they checked the cervix it always irritated it and caused a bit more to happen before it settled down. I really hope you get your results soon and can relax.

I'm not quite 19 weeks yet and still haven't felt anything I can distinguish as baby movement. I have a cervical scan on friday so I'll get a sneak peek of baby then. Then it's only a week after that till my 20 week scan. Cant come soon enough!

I still have a crazy amount of energy. Did another 30 minute HIIT workout today. I'm not sure what's come over me in all honesty!

DollyDaph10 · 11/05/2020 16:15

@Treaclepie19 Hope you’re ok!

@Buzz22 you go girl! I’m the complete opposite and sapped of energy after too many toilet breaks in the middle of the night, my bladder is definitely feeling the weight of baby!

Zaalfruit · 11/05/2020 16:49

I’m so confused they changed my scan date from the 13th to the 14th I hope they don’t cancel.

@Glitterbug86. I’m on 100 of Levothyroxine- but they told me not to to try and get pregnant as my levels aren’t stable at all - ( it hurts so much when they say things like that ) but We didn’t except myself to fall pregnant we just kinda lost hope So when it happened I Couldn’t believe it . But recently been feeling so tired and my feet have been so cold these are my normal indication that somethings not right . When I had my last tests 3 weeks ago there was no changes on medication and my next blood test isn’t for another 3 weeks .

So exciting to hear positive news for flutters and kicks - living vicariously through everyone :)

BooMamaBear · 11/05/2020 17:07

Im18w and 1day my scan is 19th too!! This one's been kicking from this time last week She kicked for DH too that day then kicked for DD Wednesday! Xx

LexiM · 11/05/2020 18:19

@Treaclepie19 thinking of you. Hope you get the results back soon.

@Spark27 6 months full pay is so good, I would take a year too in that case. I think I’m going to take 6 months then use holiday to do some shorter weeks and see how I go. My work can be flexible in terms of working and office and home which helps.

Hope your scan goes well @Zaalfruit. Sorry your husband is still being a pain, arghh!!

I am definitely having movement feelings now, they’ve increased over the last couple of days and I can tell what they are. My bump has also very much popped the last day or so, I’m conscious of it now rather than just noticing it when I looked in the mirror. I was awake early this morning as was feeling ligament pain, but I went to bed so early so still got a decent amount of sleep. I just can’t stay awake late now!

@Indigogirl88 ah sounds crazy for your husband to take time off like that. I’m the same as you and keen to save it. I don’t see the point in taking it at the moment as I’m hoping things will improve for later in the year.

Glitterbug86 · 11/05/2020 19:53

@zaalfruit that's annoying they changed your date, even if only by 1 day.

Do you get copies of your blood test results? And were you having hypo symptoms when your last test was done? I know the normal reference range for TSH is tightened in pregnancy, just wondered where yours sat. Maybe you should speak to your dr if you're feeling hypo though?

Try not to worry about it too much - I think the negative statistics are more so associated with overt hypothyroidism, not with people who are on replacement hormones. I think many studies are on animals rather than humans too.. Try to remember how common underactive thyroid is and how many people that means have gone on to have healthy babies

otterbaby · 11/05/2020 21:12

Is everyone still taking their pre-natals? I stopped a few days ago because things were getting a bit..backed up if you know what I mean Blush I feel loads better for it but need to ring my midwife to see if I need to continue them anyway! Apparently they usually include things that can cause constipation!

Treacle81 · 11/05/2020 21:26

@otterbaby If you have Pregnacare max or something similar, they contain more iron - terribly constipated me but my mw gave me 3 tubs of right start think they are called and told me to take them right through xx

LexiM · 11/05/2020 21:35

@otterbaby I was taking just vitamin D which my midwife said was fine as I had heard you can get problems like that or the pregnancy pills make sickness worse so never took them from the start just vitamin D and originally folic acid. I presumed bloods etc would confirm if I needed anything more. The last week I’ve started taking a pregnancy supplement though simply because I wasn’t able to find vitamin D only anywhere, everyone has brought it because of Corona. I can’t say I’ve noticed any side effects but maybe it’s too soon.

Spark27 · 11/05/2020 21:35

@otterbaby, I stopped at about 15w when they ran out, but when I went for my scan at 19w the sonographer said 'you're still taking folic acid aren't you?' So I've bought some more. Just folic acid and vitamin D though. I've heard some of the pregnancy multivitamins can really back you up or make you feel sick.

otterbaby · 11/05/2020 21:47

Thanks ladies, very helpful! I'll give her a ring anyway to see what she says but I do have some plain folic acid knocking about so might just be vitamin d I need to add in. X

Treaclepie19 · 11/05/2020 22:10

Im just taking folic acid and vitamin d too.

Zaalfruit · 11/05/2020 22:47

@otterbaby I struggle with taking the pregnane care and the max . My midwife said just take the cheap one from
Boots . She said first 12/13 weeks the most beneficial but continue taking it until after the baby is born as you need it .

@Glitterbug86 my doctors are so disappointing they don’t call up about the blood test results someone from reception does she will just say looks fine or you need dosage up or down and if you ask for full blood reports they never give it . Just super vague and annoying .

Quiffy · 12/05/2020 08:07

I'm taking aspirin and the Healthy Start vitamins they gave me - think it's vit c, d and folic acid.

@Indigogirl88 @Zaalfruit have your dhs apologised yet? Not very nice behaviour at all!

Anyone got tips for sleep? I keep waking up with cramp in my legs and shooting pains in my side. The pillow I have is a massive U-shaped one and I cant get comfy with it either.
