He is adorable and I’m now very excited!!! xx

bluemoon2468 · 10/05/2020 13:04

I don't want to get ready too early, but MIL had all 3 of her babies early - DH was born the earliest at 35 weeks - so she's sort of convinced me that I need to be ready early and not just assume that I'll go to 40 weeks!

blankiesandunicorns · 10/05/2020 13:07

Is anyone expecting boris' speech later to relax rules around having partners at scans? Iv got mine Tuesday and people have asked if I think I will be allowed my husband there, I'm doubtful as don't think even if he does relax the rules maternity services will relax things that quickly. What do others think?

Spark27 · 10/05/2020 13:10

@blankiesandunicorns I'd be very surprised if they relax it this soon.

I'm hoping somethings will start to gradually relax, and we might get to know when/what requirements are needed for these things to relax, but I expect it could take another month or so before more things open up. Hoping to be wrong, but I think they'll be going with caution for a while

blankiesandunicorns · 10/05/2020 13:21

@Spark27 yes I agree, I'm not getting my hopes up but will ring them tomorrow if they don't ring me just to check

BooMamaBear · 10/05/2020 15:06

My DH can't come with me anyway as he will need to look after DD and I'm guessing grandparents still won't be able to come up! Xxx

LostinAusten2 · 10/05/2020 17:06

@Treaclepie19 hey belated hug for the scare yesterday - well done go for getting seen so quickly and hope the rest of the weekend has been more chilled!

And for folk on the work chat - I think I’m going to ask for the whole year off as it’s my first one and I really can’t stand my boss... We haven’t done the maths but I’m really luck with mat pay etc where I work, so think we’ll survive (baby may not be the best dressed but hey ho 😄)

roarfeckingroar · 10/05/2020 17:31

@Aquablue1123 I'm absolutely doing hypnobirthing! Haven't signed up for classes yet but I have a book and an audiobook.

otterbaby · 10/05/2020 21:39

Great night, DH just felt the baby kick for the first time! So sweet 🥰

NWnature · 10/05/2020 21:46

Aww @otterbaby that’s lovely! I can’t blinking wait. Still not sure if I am feeling movement or not and definitely not on the outside of the bump (too much fat!)

@roarfeckingroar I have the Positive Birth company course. It’s good so far!

@Treaclepie19 hope you’ve been chilling out the rest of the weekend.

@LostinAusten2 I also think I’m going to go for the whole year, I can always go back earlier if I change my mind but all of my friends have said it goes by so quickly. I will probably take a little bit less and use holiday and whatnot, potentially use holiday for a four day week on return for a while. It’s so hard to know though, seems totally abstract until they get here to be honest!

Who has scans this week?

Treaclepie19 · 10/05/2020 21:48

Thanks everyone.
The pink has started again so I'm stressing. Why can't it just be easy 😔

OP posts:
LostinAusten2 · 10/05/2020 22:59

Oh no @Treaclepie19 sending another hug - so sorry this is all so stressful - if you can, try to take comfort from yesterday’s check that all’s ok (I know that’s easier said than done) x

Zaalfruit · 10/05/2020 23:14

@Treaclepie19 oh no :( I am so sorry to hear that . Sending you lots of hugs xx and you are in my thoughts. Will you go in again to be seen tonight ?

BooMamaBear · 11/05/2020 01:06

Oh no @Treaclepie19 -sending hugs again are you going back in?
@otterbaby -how far along are you I'm 18w and baby started kicking a week ago me and DH could both feel it from the outside but I need your advice - I know I shouldn't stress but is it just me because she's been quiet all day today and I can't help but worry -she usually moves a bit every day but when she doesn't I'm convinced something is wrong -I'm ok now coz she decided (after I've been laid down since 8pm) she'd kick at 12.30am but I've got loads more weeks to wait til she's supposed to move everyday - I'm driving myself crazy us it just me do I just need to chill?!!
Back ache is keeping me up right now! Xx

Treaclepie19 · 11/05/2020 07:18

I just decided to go to bed and see how itqq was this morning. Thankfully it didn't develop much over night. They said to ring if it got worse so seemed a bit pointless.

Still not sure if I have a uti or not (I have a history of feeling like i do and it being nothing) so will try and chase up the results today. 😴

OP posts:
Quiffy · 11/05/2020 07:45

@Treaclepie19 I hope you get the results ASAP. How are you feeling? Get lots of cuddles from your fam today and lots of rest. Just a little so could be just a little left over or down to an infection ❤️

Does anyone have scans today?

I think I felt movement at the weekend. On Saturday night I had the feeling of my stomach flipping (like when you go over the hill in the car) twice in a row. I had the same yesterday lunch then what could have been like a butterfly feeling over last evening that was super tickily.

blankiesandunicorns · 11/05/2020 07:45

@Treaclepie19 i hope you managed to get some sleep. There is a temptation to rush up the hospital when something happens like that, I know I did, but if you can keep a level head then it's best to wait and see. It sounds like you're dealing with it really well and I'm sure it's nothing. Don't be afraid to call them if you need to for reassurance though

Spark27 · 11/05/2020 08:38

Sorry it happened again @treaclepie19. Hopefully it's just a slight irritation and you get the results back soon xx

otterbaby · 11/05/2020 08:48

@BooMamaBear I'm 19 weeks today. I've felt her off and on for about a week too. There have been 1 or 2 days where I've felt nothing at all. I asked my sonographer on Thursday and she said it's normal not to have a pattern yet. And at the scan she was bopping around in there but I felt nothing!! I think they're still so tiny it just depends if they're at the front or the back 🙂

Aw @Treaclepie19 what a pain! Glad there was no more overnight now. Agree with other posters, hopefully it's just a bit of leftover irritation ❤️

Glitterbug86 · 11/05/2020 09:03

Aw sorry to read this @Treaclepie19 but hopefully it was just a little bit leftover from the first time. Glad it didn't worsen overnight. You sound like you're being very level headed about it but I know it must be very stressful. Did you have an internal exam? Just wondering could it be cervical ectropion? Hope you are taking it easy x

Indigogirl88 · 11/05/2020 09:05

Morning ladies,

@Treaclepie19 hope you're ok sending big hugs today Flowers

I thought I had some movements last night again but cant be sure, I tend to feel something after I've ate so I think its just that.

I woke up 3 times in the night with nightmares, one about saving children in a locked theatre! Everytime I woke up I swear I felt movements, but I think I'm just a bit fat as well so might just be feeling nothing!

I'm struggling to motivate this morning due to restless nights sleep, and need to get food. I'm worried about the potential return to work as well. That as well as telling work I'm pregnant and working out leave, I'd love a year as well if we can afford it. I'm like you @LostinAusten2 if the baby isn't in next every day I'm not going to worry about it. I'm in primark most days anyway Grin

Treaclepie19 · 11/05/2020 09:10

Thank you all ❤
I'm trying to be sensible about it because I know that if the worst happens they can't do anything to prevent it and they've already checked me and baby over. If the blood gets worse I'll ring but until then I'm just monitoring it.
They did do an internal exam and swabs and they reckon its just irritation.

Its draining though. Im managing okay because DH had booked today off anyway but he's back to working tomorrow so I'll probably feel a bit more overwhelmed.
Hoping the results will be back today or tomorrow. I'm going to ring and ask.

BntTowers · 11/05/2020 09:27

@Treaclepie19 I hope you get your results quickly. Take it easy and we are all thinking about you.

@Indigogirl88 I had bad dreams last night as well. I woke DH up because I was swatting a swarm of bees away from me (swatting him), then early this morning it was arms in defense of a starving lion attack... They are so videos to be making me move about like that.

BooMamaBear · 11/05/2020 09:53

@Treaclepie19 -I hope you get your results soon and it all settles down
@Quiffy -definitely sounds like movement!!
@otterbaby -I know you're right- I guess I'll feel better after my scan but it's not til a week tomorrow! Last time I got this far was with my first and I had an anterior placenta so I didn't feel movement as early and she did move everyday from 20 weeks then -it's just this time I have a posterior placenta and she she does usually move where I can feel it at least once a day so I worry when I don't fell any movement or a kick even though I know they don't have pattern yet! Xx

Spark27 · 11/05/2020 11:05

I've got my whooping cough jab in a bit. Arggghh, nervous after the comments. Although dont remember it being uncomfortable last time, but I've blocked a lot out. Warned DH of all your messages about it hurting for days to buy myself some lazy time though, ha!

Also picking up my MATB form this afternoon. I dont see the mw again til 28w and work need it by 25w so I thought i might as well get on it. Surprised they're being so quick though.

I'm taking the year. Planning on this being my last pregnancy so want to make the most of it and the time off. But hoping I can go back on paper around the 10 month mark and then use up leave (I only work 3 days a week). Means I'll save 1 lot of nursery fees for a few months and I'll only have 1 month of no pay/SMP. My work is really good and I get 6 months full pay, so making the most of that too
