I have also bought nothing! Eeek! Also really doubt our house renovations will be done in time so we will be stuck in our tiny flat for the start so no point ordering proper nursery stuff yet. I really really hope we get our planning permission sorted next week so no more delays on the building work. Total nightmare. I will need a list as totally clueless as to what I actually need right at the beginning.

I’ve been having weird feelings in my stomach the last couple of days sort of twinges but nothing that I would describe as flutters or kicking. Who knows what’s happening! The 22 May cannot come soon enough I’m so nervous.

Feeling mega chunky and little exercise motivation however skin is a bit better and been craving veg again wohoooo ! Had a salad last night so hoping the salt/ junk obsession is easing a bit.
I’ve also received my Elvie pelvic floor trainer as they were having 25% off, will see how I get on!

@LexiM so sorry to hear about your Dad. Sending vibes.

Hope everyone else is ok and making the most (that we can) of bank hol sunshine.

BooMamaBear · 09/05/2020 14:51

I'm not buying anything til 24 weeks we have some bits from DD!! I can my heartbeat on the outside of my tummy at the moment so the vessels must be near the front -seeing the odd movement coz I've just come in from sitting in the sun - it so hit!!

BooMamaBear · 09/05/2020 14:52

*hot not hit

otterbaby · 09/05/2020 15:38

@BntTowers yeah, that fb group is a much different vibe to our thread Confused I don't see the point in packing a hospital bag yet when I'm still wearing my comfy leggings and using my phone charger and whatnot! Suppose I could start stocking up on nappies but it's just going to sit in the house for 5 months!

LexiM · 09/05/2020 17:13

Thanks @NWnature.

@BntTowers I haven’t got tonnes either, just started the last couple of weeks getting one or two things with the supermarket shop like vests or wipes. We have a cot at my mums but she got that as it was such a bargain. Unless something is too good to say no to I’m in no rush. Plus until we finish decorating I don’t really have anywhere to store lots of stuff without moving it from room to room. We need to paint the nursery and find space for my clothes currently in there plus get a wardrobe/drawers for the baby to put anything we buy in!

I’m also on that group and it amazes me how much stuff some people already have, some more than I will probably buy before the baby gets here! 😂 I guess for people who know the sex of the baby it’s easier to be tempted. I don’t know yet plus I would be more tempted if we could go to shops and look at things but as we can’t I’m not so easily persuaded when it’s only online 😄

I’ve had a productive day, finished the skirting in the main bathroom and moved onto the en-suite. Just stopped now for a rest. DH is really struggling today, he has depression but he’s just getting so anxious about the restrictions and how things are going to be but then equally he’s annoyed at our neighbours who are doing what the hell they want! Will be interested to see what changes will be coming in tomorrow, surely there must be something even if it’s small otherwise what’s the point in having a special Sunday briefing!

Spark27 · 09/05/2020 17:21

I'm intrigued by this group. I might need to get on it just to see Grin
I'll probably do what I did last time, which is pick up things a bit at a time now I've had my 20w scan. So a bag of nappies in a shopping order, or a box of wipes, etc. Just to spread the cost out. And formula, cos that can be expensive. And even if I do bf again I'm only probably going to do it for about 3 months or so (after that I just wanted my body back last time). I am fortunate that I have loads from my DD though

I've been watching a few of the tuppance and crumble star wraps on Ebay and the auctions finished today. Got a small one for £8.10 and a medium for £6.70 (inc postage). Both used, but bargains as they are about £24 new. Very pleased with that. They're something I didn't have last time, but they look so useful. Esp as I'll be having to take baby out all the time, even when its freezing, to get DD to nursery and etc.

Indigogirl88 · 09/05/2020 17:45

@NWnature ooh keep us posted about the pelvic floor thingy I'm suffering with my leakage and its proper getting me down event hough im doing exercises!

@Spark27 I'm going to have a look at wraps so thanks for the tips on brands

If it makes anyone feel better:-
Re decorating...done nothing dont even have a nursery at the moment due to lockdown

Re buying stuff...not bought anything, waiting for scan on the 21st then I'll buy odd bits here and there. I've even given up researching prams till I can test some out

Re dtd... we've been once or twice a week but I feel a bit wobbly but dp doesn't seem to mind, hes enjoying the big boobs!

Re steak....in the fridge for tomorrow soooo excited. Weve got curry tonight but it's a bit spicey!

Re movement...not much here but I think I'm getting the snakey feeling

AutumnBabyWinterMummy · 09/05/2020 17:48

Just catching up on all these messages!

I'm also intrigued by the Facebook group, can I please join? X

otterbaby · 09/05/2020 19:16

@Spark27 @AutumnBabyWinterMummy it's called "UK babies due in and around October 2020" you just request to join the group 🙂 at least I think that's the one we're all on about!

Has anyone emailed their work with maternity leave notice yet? Currently drafting an email but not sure what exactly needs to be said aside from proposed dates...

LexiM · 09/05/2020 19:29

@otterbaby I haven’t because I still don’t know how long I’m taking off. On top of that I work for a tiny company, it’s basically just me most the time so I really need to chat to my boss about how it’s all going to work.

I’m finding it hard to decide how much time to take because who knows if you’ve never had a baby before! Financially I cannot afford to take too long and equally my work will struggle to get cover because no month is the same in my job so it’s hard to train someone up but equally I want to make sure I take enough time to not feel I’ve been stupid!

Treaclepie19 · 09/05/2020 19:32

Is there anyone on here that isn't in the mumsnet October babies Facebook group who wants to be?

Ugh I'm tired. Our 4yo is not sleeping well at the moment and has spent the day being grizzly and hyper 🤪

OP posts:
BooMamaBear · 09/05/2020 19:48

@Treaclepie19 I feel you pain bedtime is sometimes taking two hours to get my 4 yr old to sleep! She misses school and her friends and pre-school used to tire her out so even tho I do love spending time with her as does her daddy (he now only has a 4 day working week)and we try and do stuff to tire her out-walking, dancing etc I think she needs to go back to school soon! Xx

DollyDaph10 · 09/05/2020 19:48

Delaying the work email! My husbands work have asked him to come back to the US and I’m not ready for the work convo just yet. I love my job and will be gutted to leave. Because of this we also won’t be having a nursery, as will do one once we move, so anything we buy will have to fit in our bedroom where baby will be for first few months.
The other chat sounds interesting! Is it worth joining?

AutumnBabyWinterMummy · 09/05/2020 19:48

@Treaclepie19 yes please I'd like to join, is it the same one as @otterbaby mentioned below? X

Treaclepie19 · 09/05/2020 19:55

Glad its not just us @BooMamaBear but sorry you're having it too. Its driving us nuts 🙈

@AutumnBabyWinterMummy nope its a different one. If you private message me your email address I'll get someone to add you Smile

Quiffy · 09/05/2020 20:22

The big October Facebook group mentioned above is closed for new members so I don't think anyone can join now. The group @Treaclepie19 can get you in is great, nice and small so you can get to know people :)

BntTowers · 09/05/2020 21:00

Thanks , it's made me feel better knowing not everyone has got everything. We are waiting until out wedding anniversary at the beginning of August and hoping we will be able to get some things in stores by then, if not we will order online as hopefully there will still be plenty of time for it to arrive.

I have lots of round ligament pain today, I also got stung/ bitten by something on my nipple today! I was outraged, how rude! Can kinda laugh at it now, but wasn't happy about it at the time! Lucky I have some Aloe Vera gel which has helped sooth it.

BooMamaBear · 09/05/2020 21:19

I've laid down loads today to see if baby would move and she hadn't moved that much as soon as I get in bed she's not stopped moving and kicking she always waits til I'm In bed at night! I'm 18w tomorrow!! Xx

bluemoon2468 · 09/05/2020 21:20

Yep very, very reduced DTD here too 🙈 have only just got over constant nausea, feeling unattractive and very worried about the baby which is probably stupid but it means I'm on edge and can't enjoy it. I also feel just a bit weird that the baby is right there, and especially because I felt it move the other day during and it really grossed me out. I have no idea how people do it when they're heavily pregnant and the baby is visibly moving!

BooMamaBear · 09/05/2020 21:44

I think it would gross me out too we've not DTD since I started feeling baby kick (last Monday) but before that we DTD a few times when we're in the mood! He's loving the bigger boobs thing so it's easy to get him in the mood if I am! I feel a bit fat but it's all round the front and does come out under my ribs so i do look pregnant rather than just fat!! Xx

Zaalfruit · 09/05/2020 22:52

I have to give my work minimum of 15 Weeks notice to get paid Mat leave . After my 20 week appointment I think I will work it out and email the form . My work place you just fill in a form and submit it and the form is from a portal we have. Dtd the feed once the bump is huge is just so unappealing to me. My boobs have grown huge- I feel like they are too lumps that block me 🤪.

@bluemoon2468 one of
My friends told me she dtd the day before giving birth all I could think was didn't your belly get in the way and wasn’t your baby kicking you - it becomes a party of three.

DollyDaph10 · 09/05/2020 23:55

I can’t decide when I would like to start maternity leave, I’m going to have a think about it over the next week.

Indigogirl88 · 09/05/2020 23:57

Im the same re dtd but dp doesn't seem to mind I had to tell him I felt the belly wobble a bit so cant really do some positions but he was fine and so him being relaxed made me feel relaxed

@Treaclepie19 I'll message you the the group x

Treaclepie19 · 10/05/2020 02:14

Eesh 😴
At half 10 I had some bright red blood so had to go into the hospital for checks. Heard babys heartbeat and they've sent a urine sample off and some swabs. They think its just cervical irritation so hopefully it'll go off. 😴😴😴

Aquablue1123 · 10/05/2020 02:42

@Treaclepie19 oh no, I bet that was a shock, glad you got to see your baby and hear the heartbeat at least. I hope you're ok, let us know how you are getting on? Xx
