Loving all the names, definitely some there I would have loved by DH was like no!!

@HerondaleDucks so lovely to hear how excited your DSD is for the baby, bet it will be so special for her.

@Aquablue1123 I’m still having diet fizzy drinks, not tonnes though - I cant cope anyway with too much fizz now I get too full. I’ve got some alcohol free fruit cider for the weekend, hope it’s good!!

@otterbaby congrats on your girl! 💕💕

I saw my colleague today for the first time in seven weeks (not working closely) and first time sees seen the bump. It was so nice to see someone else and have a chat!
Sadly after work I got some bad news that following my dad’s scan they’ve confirmed his tumour has grown back. They are starting on some different chemo and he seems positive but understandably his partner is devastated. There isn’t anything you can say to make it better either. Cancer is just a bitch. I’ve had my little cry now I’m going back to being positive for him because that’s all we can do.

DollyDaph10 · 07/05/2020 20:44

@LexiM So sorry to hear that. My mum has battled cancer previously and it’s so tough watching a parent go through treatment. I really feel for you all. Your baby news is going to give so much happiness and comfort in a really tough time xx

Indigogirl88 · 07/05/2020 20:46

@BntTowers loving those names

Loving fanta too!

Just catching up x

Indigogirl88 · 07/05/2020 20:47

@LexiM oh no, sorry to hear that sending lots of hugs Flowers

BntTowers · 07/05/2020 20:50

@LexiM sorry to hear your news about your dad.

Spark27 · 07/05/2020 20:50

So sorry to hear your news @LexiM. I hope the new treatment helps Flowers

SkyBlue20 · 07/05/2020 20:59

Sending love, @LexiM 💕

BooMamaBear · 07/05/2020 20:59

@LexiM -so sorry to hear about your Dad! Xx

LexiM · 07/05/2020 21:09

Thanks everyone. He’s definitely determined to meet the baby, always wants to know my latest news when we speak!

Does anyone have any “plans” for the long weekend? I know hardly going to be anything mega exciting!

DollyDaph10 · 07/05/2020 21:15

@LexiM Please keep us updated if you feel able to share. I will be thinking of you and your Dad.

DH and I were thinking of doing our ‘baby announcement’ pictures in the back garden tomorrow. He hates having his picture taken so the fact he has agreed and even suggested it is amazing! And then an afternoon tea on Sunday. Do you have any plans?

BooMamaBear · 07/05/2020 21:28

Sound good @DollyDaph10
I know I'm being stupid but I now that feeling the baby kick at 17w is lovely but also fricking scary coz she's just kicked now but apartness from a bit of movement she hadn't t kicked since yesterday morning which I know isn't long but I have been panicking all day!! I read online they don't kick everyday at 17w and you don't need to worry til 24ish weeks but it still totally freaks me out if she doesn't kick when I lay down coz she always has done since the first time on a Monday! Xxx

DollyDaph10 · 07/05/2020 21:32

I’m 18 weeks almost 19 and I haven’t felt baby kick at all (tho I saw on my scan he was moving around) so maybe you can’t feel every kick yet? I’m not sure x

HerondaleDucks · 07/05/2020 21:49

@LexiM so sorry to hear about your Dad. Fingers crossed and hoping for the best Flowers

Quiffy · 07/05/2020 21:54

@LexiM so sorry about your dad, thinking of you all and hope the new treatment helps x

BooMamaBear · 07/05/2020 21:55

Yes the internet said I can only feel the hard kicks on the outside but I didn't feel any inside either!! My placenta is posterior this time which is why I can feel her easier and it's just that she usually hard kicks me when ever I laid down - DH and DD have felt her kick too - I wanted to check I wasn't imaging it! Xx

HerondaleDucks · 07/05/2020 22:02

I've felt movement all day. Its been really uncomfortable at times

DollyDaph10 · 07/05/2020 22:05

@BooMamaBear I promise I haven’t felt any internal or external movements either. I hope this reassures you. When I googled it said it’s completely normal for this stage and they don’t recommend counting kicks at the moment as it’s so variable. Hopefully we both get some movements we can feel tomorrow! Xx

Treaclepie19 · 07/05/2020 22:07

@LexiM I'm so sorry to hear that Flowers

Anyone else still suffering with their whooping cough jab?
Its been 3 days now so I figured it would be gone. When I asked the midwife the other day she said it was common but eesh. Its red, lumpy and sore.

OP posts:
BooMamaBear · 07/05/2020 22:12

I'm dreading my jab I was gonna book it after my scan as I'm not quite 20w at my scan xx

DollyDaph10 · 07/05/2020 22:22

I’m having my jab after the next scan. My flu jab made my arm incredibly sore for around 3 weeks. I’ve never had a reaction to an injection before x

BooMamaBear · 07/05/2020 22:28

I've been fine with most jabs i don't remember my whooping cough jab being bad last time! The only one I had a bad reaction to was the pneumococcal jab my whole arm swelled up and I felt really sick and tired for a few days -thankfully you only ever have to have that once! Xx

Treaclepie19 · 07/05/2020 22:40

I've never had a reaction to a jab either. I even had this same one with my 4yo and it was fine, just achey.
I guess it just depends on the day. It did bleed a bit after as well. Maybe I was extra tense or something.

Just caught up again - loving all the names .

@LexiM hope you are alright and so sorry to hear that - deffo try your best to stay positive it’s the best thing . ( I know easy said than done)

Just 5 more days till my scan - I can’t wait anymore - having no bump and not feeling kicks is the most concerning thing . Just trying to play it cool and make up excuses just hoping to seeing a healthy baby don’t even care if they don’t mention the gender just a healthy baby . I don’t know if I have the mental health to cope other wise .

LexiM · 08/05/2020 06:55

Thanks again everyone xx feeling better today after some good sleep.

@zaalfruit - glad you don’t have to wait long for your scan now, hopefully it will be reassuring for you. I have been counting down every few days, I’m like “it’s so many weeks and half now” 😂

Really not looking forward to the whooping cough vaccine now! Just something that has to be done.

@DollyDaph10 it’s so lovely to share your news and the weather is perfect for a garden photo, glad DH is on board, always makes your life easier doesn’t it! 😄

Quiffy · 08/05/2020 07:55

@DollyDaph10 have fun with your garden announcement. That sounds super cute.

@Treaclepie19 ouch hope it eases up soon. Looking forward to that one 😅

@Zaalfruit getting close now! Especially to put your mind at ease. I don't have movements yet but I did see someone share a video of her baby doing somersaults and Bruce Lee kicks at her 20w scan and she's felt nothing either.

@LexiM our plans are nursery building and moving bits around house. I'm going to be painting a bookcase this morning and dh is dismantling our old spare bed today 😅 what's your weekend plans?
