Soo after lunch today my nausea totally subsided after wearing these bands for hours, managed to clean the whole house empty the bins and have 2 ham sandwiches with sweet chilli crisps ANDDDDD enjoy it!
Have felt sooo happy!
Went on a longer walk tonight and turned sickly again, hubby had to run home and fetch the car as I physically couldn't walk anymore but my mum sent us my favourite spag bol round and it's fixed me up again!

My mum also said the turning sickly on walks happened to her a lot when she was pregnant with me so that's reassured me 😊

Feeling okay tonight apart from my wrists feel so bruised from wearing these bands since my eyes opened at half 6 this morning but scared to take them off🤣 going to bed on a full stomach tonight so hoping that makes for an easier morning tomorrow 🤞🤞🤞

Good luck tomorrow @PocoyoandEllie and @Elmlee!!!

Of course you can join, welcome @Emma989! It's a busy one this thread! We will be on thread 3 before we know it!

dixiedo · 11/05/2020 21:57

@Katbaby yay to the bands ! X

PocoyoandEllie · 11/05/2020 22:38

I can’t even open my fridge or go in the kitchen if its been opened without heaving! I am so against the fridge its untrue 😂

Elmlee · 11/05/2020 22:49

@PocoyoandEllie I know the feeling I'm so up and down myself. They fridge can be an issue 🤦🏻‍♀️

Where abouts are you from?

PocoyoandEllie · 11/05/2020 22:59

@Elmlee I am from Warrington I don’t know whether you will have ever heard of it? Inbetween Manchester and Liverpool

Rnic1x · 12/05/2020 06:30

@PocoyoandEllie I love the way you say you don't know if people will have heard of it, we say the exact thing. I'm from Barrow in Cumbria nobody ever knows where I live I normally end up saying about 2 hours away from Manchester 😂

Good luck today and @Elmlee xx

december2020 · 12/05/2020 07:29

@Rnic1x I know right, really hope I don't bottle it again today and can finally tell them!! My symptoms don't feel so strong today so I'm hoping that's just normal.

Is anyone else fluctuating between omg this is so exciting and omg what have we done?
I'm starting to wonder how on earth will I juggle this with a full time job and a 1.5h commute to London each way and no family from either side or close friends in the area we live in. Thank god I have about 1.5years to figure that bit out.

Good luck on the scans today! 😍

Rnic1x · 12/05/2020 07:32

@december2020 yes I feel a bit like symptoms come and go, I presume it's normal? Ohh I'm sure everything will be fine, god I wish I worked in London absolutely love it there compared to my small little town anyway, you will manage. Are you going to work full time after baby? Xx

december2020 · 12/05/2020 08:29

@Rnic1x I hope so! I think I'll definitely be a lot more confident if we ever have a second baby after going through this roller coaster once!
Good question: I haven't really decided yet on what hours and if it would be full time or flexi. I was also considering maybe changing role to something that isn't as high pressure with lots of overtime to hopefully have a bit better work life balance so I don't totally miss out on the family and parenting side. Thank god I have 1.5 years to get my thoughts together and make a decision 😂 how are you feeling today? I've finally ordered some sickness bands just in case 😅 hopefully it'll stop the queasiness that seems to come and go!

calipoppy · 12/05/2020 08:33

@katbaby sooo happy for you that you managed to get a break from the nausea, being able to eat something normal feels unreal at the moment doesn't it!

@pocoyoandellie I'm so with you on the fridge. Even writing the word makes me queasy haha. I've made DH clean it out twice but think I have to accept I just need to steer clear for a while!

I had my worst day so far yesterday, laid in the dark all day with a migraine and feeling so rough ☹️ I ended up telling my boss and he has been SO supportive I couldn't believe it! He told me to just take the whole week off to rest and that the news has put a big smile on his face ❤️ I don't know if it's the relief but I feel so much better today just knowing I can have a chilled day with no guilt about work. Feel so thankful for him reacting like that!

Rnic1x · 12/05/2020 08:33

@december2020 I'm feeling ok, have a bit of a headache but that's about it. I'm worrying about my achy legs last night 🤦🏻‍♀️ they are fine now but I don't know why they were achy. I tripped up some grass (only landed on my knee and hand not belly) so it might have just been that. I'm shattered and I've only been up 3 hours I could just go back to bed 😂 hope your feeling ok xx

calipoppy · 12/05/2020 08:42

@rnic1x I haven't had the achey legs but I remember reading somewhere that it's a common symptom, I think it's something to do with our blood flow changing!

Rnic1x · 12/05/2020 08:44

@calipoppy ohh that's good then thanks x

ElectricTonight · 12/05/2020 08:47

@PocoyoandEllie I am glad I'm not the only one who can't go near the fridge, just went to get the milk out and 🤢🤢🤢trying so hard to not be sick!

@Rnic1x Achey legs are common, especially when the weather is warmer makes you feel like your veins are going to pop 🙈

Hope everyone is ok x

ElectricTonight · 12/05/2020 08:58

Are anyone else's teeth bleeding or can you taste blood when you wake up? I'm not sure if it's my gums or if I'm clenching my teeth at night , don't want them to fall out especially as the dentist isn't open Blush

Benilyn · 12/05/2020 09:04

@ElectricTonight I've not had teeth bleeding but I have noticed that I'm clenching my teeth a lot. I keep having to try to think about relaxing them

Elmlee · 12/05/2020 09:05

@pocoyoandellie I know where Warrington is! I live on the Wirral, so near Liverpool and Chester really. Not a million miles away!

@Rnic1x haha small world, I lived in barrow for a short while my first boyfriend was from barrow. Nobody has any idea lol 😂

Slept good, woke up desperate for a wee and drink. Might try and get a couple more hours. (Means less of a wait for my scan 😛).

Let's see how the nausea is today, still so anxious 😥

Rnic1x · 12/05/2020 09:08

@Elmlee what a small world, no people really have no idea it's easier to just say near Manchester 😂 you'll be fine try not to worry x

Katbaby · 12/05/2020 09:12

Morning everyone ☺️
So going to bed on a full stomach has definitely took the edge of the morning nausea I have borked once but no where near how it was yesterday morning on an empty stomach.

Good luck for scans today can't wait to see pics 🤞🤞🤞

Bands back on the second my eyes opened though haha I think I'm scared to not wear them now!!

I know Cumbria! Just across the pennines ☺️ I'm teesside (North East) xx

djmbaker · 12/05/2020 09:41

@december2020 I have waves of feeling excited and then really scared. It may sound really sad, but I love my relationship, we are so happy together, I'm worried that will change. I think it's mainly down to one of my clients saying to me after I mentioned how happy we are together "make sure you don't have kids then as it will change" and I've never really forgotten. Side note - her marriage is on its arse because they are both incredibly selfish.. nothing to do with the children! But.. it does stick when people say shit like that. 🤷🏻‍♀️

@PocoyoandEllie I know Warrington as well!! I live near Nantwich??

@Elmlee good luck with your scan 🙏🏻💕

Good luck with the scans! , im not sure how to feel today, last night had another 2 hrs of left side camping, and had another pin prick of red blood. bit wary about how today will go, im 8 weeks day 5.

calipoppy · 12/05/2020 10:26

@calpolatdawn so sorry you've got this to worry about, have you tried contacting your local EPU? I have found mine to be so helpful and when I had pains earlier on in this pregnancy they got me in same day for a scan x

djmbaker · 12/05/2020 10:36

@calpolatdawn I'd definitely ring your doc at least. Mine was amazing when I had pain the other week and she got me a scan at EPU the same day. xx

notalwaysalondoner · 12/05/2020 10:56

@december2020 I feel exactly the same! Even though we TTC for seven months I still shift between being super excited and happy and being quite nervous about how our lives will change. I also live in London and work in a very high pressure management consulting job (12-14 hour days very normal) - it’s very difficult to weigh up whether to go part time (but I’d still be working very long hours 4 days a week), move to a different company (but not sure with a massive recession that will be easy) or stop altogether (what I’d planned when I was younger but now I’ve realised more the financial implications and also how vulnerable you are if anything goes wrong in your marriage).

@djmbaker I feel exactly the same - DH and I are so so happy and I’m scared that a baby will make us so tired and exhausted and distracted that we turn around in 5-10 years time and can’t remember how to be a couple. But I guess it’s a risk everyone takes and there are lots of couples that are just as happy after they have children. I’ve been meaning to start a thread actually on advice from people about this - you see so many threads where men in particular become so useless after a baby arrives and start to think that the woman should do all the childcare and the housework forever after and I’d love to hear people’s thoughts on how to avoid this! DH is great and we have a very even split of chores currently but I can see how easy it would be on maternity leave to slip into very gendered roles...

notalwaysalondoner · 12/05/2020 11:00

Are you guys planning to do shared parental leave at all? Even though I’d rather not “share” it, I think it’s one way to ensure DH fully appreciates the work of looking after a baby alone - I’m thinking of doing 11 months myself then the final month DH can take it. He’ll only get two weeks paternity leave and maybe a couple of weeks unpaid leave at the beginning, but I think it’s super important for men to have time doing the childcare alone rather than always when the woman is there.
