Aww thank you @Marshmallow1102 🥰
Realised I've posted it upside down as well 😅😅

Kel3288 · 07/05/2020 15:02

@ew1990 my due date is the same as yours 😊 I’m also totally new to this and came across Christmas babies thread wondering if this counted.

Hope you gals don’t mind me stopping by? Great to read questions/thoughts and general status of how people are feeling which mimic my own! X

Rnic1x · 07/05/2020 15:05

@december2020 awww I'm so pleased for you. My scan is Monday I can't wait x

@Katbaby did you get a scan sorted? X

Elmlee · 07/05/2020 15:18

Hey ladies, hope your all well?
Feeling anxious today, mainly with the whole work situation. I'm on furlough which has been a god send with my nausea.
The whole thing on Sunday and the announcement is stressing me out. I didn't want to have to tell work about my pregnancy but I think I may have to if I have to go back. I have 3 appointments over the next 5 weeks.
What's everybody else feeling?
My nausea is still up and down. Main thing is I'm exhausted waking up at odd times. But I'm sooooo bloated I feel so huge. I'm a big girl anyway but I feel like a balloon lol 😂 help!

ew1990 · 07/05/2020 15:20

@kel3288 aww congratulations. Well that's just going off my last period will know for definite at 12 week scan.

Natt99 · 07/05/2020 15:22

Aww congrats @december2020 glad all is well x

Rnic1x · 07/05/2020 15:26

@Elmlee have you tried travel sickness bands? I've had them on all day and haven't felt sick once... I've felt sick every day for nearly 2 weeks these are a god send! What do you do as a job? Will you have to tell them what your appointments are for or can you just ask for leave? X

Katbaby · 07/05/2020 15:41

Sooo, got to my appointment

Turns out it had been booked wrong from the receptionist which is just not what I needed. However the midwife was lovely and offered to do my bloods and other things while I was there so that when I do have my phone booking appointment I wouldnt need to go back again so not a completely wasted trip. My booking in is now 24th.
She's took my word for how far along I am and won't send me for an early scan and now I'm really second guessing my dates! If I had my first positive on 17th April and a 2-3 weeks on 23rd April, and my 3+ 29th(last Wednesday) I've guessed now that I'm approx 6+2/3 now.. Would people be in general agreement with that?

She's really made me second guess myself

Got no period to work off so it's hard

@Rnic1x no NHS early one so gonna book a private one tonight for about 9/10 days time.

@december2020 congrats on your scan!!

Elmlee · 07/05/2020 15:42

@Rnic1x I work in optics, I fit and adjust glasses, pre test etc. So it's fairly close work.
When I spoke to the midwife last week she did mention avoiding unnecessary contact. So might ring her and get advise first. She what she suggests.
I don't think I could palm off 2 appointments without reason.

@december2020 massive congratulations your scan picture is adorable. How far did they say you are? Xx

Kel3288 · 07/05/2020 15:44

@ew1990 congrats to you too 😊 exactly the same based on period maths. I’ve got my first scan on the 2nd June so will find out then. How about you? Is this your first? X

ChristmasEve2020 · 07/05/2020 15:46

@december2020 congrats! How far along are you? Having super anxiety for mine next week too!

Jasminex1 · 07/05/2020 15:56

@december2020 congrats! I'm glad all is going well ☺️

@Katbaby thats so rubbish! The last thing you need when you've spent all that time building up to it.

I've just had my letter through for my 12 week scan 😁 super nervous but excited! Over a month so wait though, it seems forever!! Thinking of booking an early scan as dp can't come to the hospital. Has anyone ever used Ultrasound Direct?

Snapper81 · 07/05/2020 16:12

@Jasminex1 I used ultrasound direct. Went there 2 days ago. It was really professional and they were wearing PPE. I'd recommend. I dont know if it's the same everywhere, but I liked that they had a big screen up for me to see too. Again, other places might be different but I used window to the womb with my last pregnancy and i couldnt see anything as the only screen was the one the sonographer was using.

Jasminex1 · 07/05/2020 16:18

@Snapper81 that's really helpful thank you! Were you allowed a partner with you?

djmbaker · 07/05/2020 16:20

@Katbaby your dates for tests are the exact same as mine and at the scan on Monday they said that I am 6 - 6 1/2 weeks, they couldn't say to be precise but said I'll find out more when I have another scan in 2 weeks time.

notalwaysalondoner · 07/05/2020 16:22

I just got my letter through for my scan too @Jasminex1 - 15th June. Guess we’ll drive down to London for the day if we need to if we’re still staying with my parents!

@Katbaby sounds similar to me - I got 2-3 weeks on 29 April and 3 weeks on 6 May and I know pretty sure from OPKs that I’m 6+3. So you may be a few days ahead of me as your test dates were a bit sooner - but then there will be some natural variation. I wouldn’t worry, you’ll find out at 12 weeks either way.

djmbaker · 07/05/2020 16:24

@Elmlee I'm really anxious about Sunday's announcement, Im a mobile beauty therapist and I really don't want to go back to visiting people's houses, carrying all my heavy bags etc, never mind the increased risk of going into many peoples homes. I am having a beauty hut built as we speak and they said it's looking about another 4/6 weeks so I am secretly hoping Boris doesn't allow beauty and hair to return to work for a while 😩😩 AND in 6 weeks I'll be 12 weeks so hopefully I'll be feeling better too.. The worry of him saying I can return to work ASAP is sky high.. I just have a sense of dread right now. 😩😩

Jasminex1 · 07/05/2020 16:27

@notalwaysalondoner how exciting! Oh gosh do you have far to travel back? Are you having your bloods etc done at the scan?x

notalwaysalondoner · 07/05/2020 16:35

@Jasminex1 we’re about 3 hours away! I’ve already checked I can have my booking in locally if required but it will be a bit of a pain transferring the notes etc so I need to call the London hospital as I think the best plan would be if they could do the booking in by phone (it’s definitely in person according to the letter) then just do the bloods and urine at the scan. If this isn’t possible we’ll need to make a decision about whether to drive up just for booking in or to go local but then later having to sort out the switch.

I’ve also, perhaps foolishly, booked a local private early scan for the same date as my original London booking in date on 23 May so I’ll need to move that appointment either way!

Elmlee · 07/05/2020 16:37

@djmbaker I have sent you a private message. Xx

notalwaysalondoner · 07/05/2020 16:38

To be honest for the Sunday announcement I’m more worried about what my DH will want to do than about work - I’m sure I’ll be WFH for at least a few more weeks. But I’m extremely happy staying with my parents - we get a huge room each for wfh, they have a beautiful big garden, lovely views, it’s great to spend time with my granny and sister who are also staying. But DH will want to go and see friends as soon as we’re allowed and while I’d like to see them I don’t really want to have to wfh for many more weeks in our little London flat.

Carabu1 · 07/05/2020 16:38

@December2020 ahhh that's so lovely! Congratulations!

I have an early reassurance scan on Tuesday (I think I'll be about 6.5-7 weeks then). Feeling so impatient, I feel like time is going backwards! No spotting or cramps to speak off, or indeed any other symptoms really, but have been VERY tired the last few days (like, napping at 5pm and could sleep for 12 hours tired...but that could just be the lockdown lethargy!)

Rnic1x · 07/05/2020 16:39

@Elmlee yeah maybe speak then you don't want to be at risk going back in :( x

@Katbaby ohh god what a nightmare, I'm surprised they can take people's word for it if they have no last period? My sister didn't get a positive test until she was 6 weeks so you could be later on? At least if you book private you'll know. X

Katbaby · 07/05/2020 16:54

Thanks everyone who gave me their dates!

It got me quite upset that it felt like I was just left to my own guesswork, you guys have reassured me that I might be in the right ballpark.

@Rnic1x I know I couldn't believe it. I bet its to do with covid carry on and trying to see people minimally. I have booked a private one for Tuesday 19th so at least that's a good date to look forward to.

@djmbaker yes I remember we did our weeks ones on the same day! So I should be just over 8 weeks when I go for my private one which I can't wait for. They confirmed over the phone hubby can come too which I'm really glad about!

Nic2908 · 07/05/2020 17:04

@december2020 beautiful scan how exciting. I am loving all these scans getting me excited for mine (a week today).
@katbaby at least you have had bloods done friend and if she was concerned she would have sent you. Our phone booking in appt is 24th too, we can go through it together
