Hope so @ElectricTonight but even 12 weeks feels so long away!

@YahBasic yeah I have my midwife appt tomorrow so will mention it to her. Its only been the last 4/5 days but its been so debilitating

Nic2908 · 06/05/2020 10:19

Morning ladies.

I'm going to start needing a pen and paper to make sure I reply to everyone its moving fast again.

@Katbaby although I didnt make myself sick the few occasions a have been sick I felt instantly better afterwards?? I know that's not the case though for everyone. What about the travel sickness bands that someone mentioned??

Before I was a brew queen, now the thought of a cup if tea makes me want to vomit. On my night one of the girls said "why are you drinking brews any more" 🙈 I am one who has been asked every week for the last 7 years when am I having a baby, so it wont be long until people are guessing I think.

How many weeks is everyone now?

YahBasic · 06/05/2020 10:26

Haha I was thinking that @Nic2908, gonna need a spreadsheet to keep up with peoples due dates and scan dates Grin

I’m 8+4 today, got my booking in appointment next week at 9+5, but hoping then it means I’ve not got a big wait until my first scan. We’ve decided against an early scan but might go for the NIPT testing, still deciding.

Rnic1x · 06/05/2020 10:52

@december2020 thank you ❤️

I'm 7 weeks tomorrow xx

djmbaker · 06/05/2020 10:52

@Katbaby I felt just like you yesterday (and today) I cried as I feel so bad, I can't shake my nausea at all. I just feel like crap. The thought of food makes me want to 🤢 so I'm trying to eat plain boring food as often as I can. I thought it was "morning" sickness.. I'm getting this from the second I wake up to the minute I go to bed.. that's "all day" sickness 😩 I've told my midwife and she gave me some anti sickness bands, I've had them on but I haven't had any benefit yet.. if this continues ill ring my doctor and see what they can prescribe.. I can't manage another 6 weeks like this in the hope it stops at 12..

Rich tea biscuits are good? Just to nibble on. I have them by the bed in the morning.

Yesterday I managed French fries for my lunch.. I feel guilty as I know I should be eating well but I just can't. 😩😩😩

I've read on another thread that flat full fat coke.. ice lollies.. salty crisps and Robinson's fruit juices (there was loads more I can't remember) can help with nausea

OP posts:
Elmlee · 06/05/2020 11:29

I can really relate to the nausea. I actually felt semi normal yesterday which was lovely. Today though is bad. I was awake at 6am I ate a rich tea biscuit and fell back asleep.
Need to go food shopping today. My sickness is definitely worse when I'm hungry.
I feel guilty about my diet too, yesterday I was that hungry all I could be bothered doing was an oven pizza to tea. I left all my garlic bread I cooked.
I'm living on fizzy water, the odd sip of Pepsi Max, rich tea biscuits, ginger biscuits. I had a battered fish sandwich the other evening that was delicious!
I really fancy a ham sandwich with soft white bread and butter. Might have to put some good ham on my list.
Hope you all have a good day xx

calipoppy · 06/05/2020 11:30

Hi everyone, mind if I join?

I'm 8+1 with my first baby and have been taking so much comfort reading this thread the past couple of weeks and seeing other people with similar symptoms! I was holding off joining as I had a miscarriage at the start of March and have been so scared it would happen again, but I ended up having an early scan on Friday after I had a lot of pain on my right and saw a heartbeat ❤️ so feeling a little bit more confident now!

@nic2908 just like you I have totally gone off tea/all hot drinks! All I can drink at the moment is fizzy water with a tonne of ice!

Also been having nausea all day long that only goes while I'm eating, but my husband got my some bands this morning and for me they have been an actual miracle, I felt so much better instantly! @djmbaker do you definitely have yours in the right place? I had mine too high up at first and they only worked when I read the instructions and moved them down a bit?

Snapper81 · 06/05/2020 12:13

Oh ladies I'm the same. I'm just lying down in bed all day, every day because I feel so sick.
I've ordered some wristbands too. The only prob with them is even looking at them makes me nauseous. I had terrible car sickness when I was young and the association sets me off. Actually heaving as I'm typing just thinking about them! Might well be a waste of money.

With my daughter, I ended up on medication cos my nausea was so bad. Think I'll discuss it when I have my booking in appointment. Anyone else considering medication?

Katbaby · 06/05/2020 12:13

Well I have managed to move and clean my kitchen, gonna drop some cake off at my SIL.

I cried again when the dog brought mud in from outside. Think the water works are fully on now!

@djmbaker yes Jordan got me some plain tortilla chips and they seem to be helping! Hope you feel better soon 😙

Elmlee · 06/05/2020 12:23

@Katbaby god don't mention the water works. If I see anything slightly emotional or loving I cry.
I watched letters to Juliet yesterday and cried 3 times.
Then I cried at new tricks 😔

Looking back before I found out a week today they were some first symptoms for me. I cried and stupid things 🙈

PocoyoandEllie · 06/05/2020 12:31

I have been sick twice this morning already, once after wiping my 5 year olds bum 🤢 I really don’t remember feeling this ill with him but I do know I felt more human after 14 weeks, I feel like that is forever away.

I have been thinking of @Marshmallow1102 hope you are ok x

djmbaker · 06/05/2020 13:27

I'm sorry for you all feeling and being sick!! I honestly wish there was a magic potion .. my midwife has said I should consider anti sickness medication as I feel sick all day.. but i just worry about taking things?? Anyone else considering it?

I've not got any full fat coke until my tesco shop comes tonight but I've got a Diet Coke and I'm sipping my way through that.. and don't even get me started on ham.. we have a packet of ham in the fridge and the thought of it is enough to make me never want to open the fridge again! I had to skip through an insta story before as she was eating pasta with ham in 🤢🤢🤢🤢 what a weird thing to go off??? I loved it last week!!

Anyone else gone off anything?

@calipoppy ive moved the bands slightly, they still don't seem to be helping much. We shall see 🤷🏻‍♀️ I'm keeping the faith!

I’m literally managing to work and shower. No housework, cooking, cleaning etc.

DH has stepped up and is doing everything, and I’ve lowered my standards and just pretending it isn’t as messy as it is! There’s just no way that I have the energy to do anything more.

I’m taking the idea of just eating whatever I can in the first trimester and then when the sickness goes (hopefully!), I can get back to eating healthier. My diet is so carby and sugary atm, I just feel so sluggish. But nothing else is helping - the idea of meat makes me want to vom!

Marshmallow1102 · 06/05/2020 13:48

Hi @PocoyoandEllie, I'm still here, just being quiet! (I'm not very good in big group chats!) I've been watching/reading multiple times a day with no idea what to say to join in!!

My bleeding stopped Sunday evening, so only two days of spotting in the end and was only red for a really short time! EPU said they aren't worried at all! My private scan is on Friday, so I'm just keeping everything crossed that everything will be OK when I go in!!

I've just been feeling tired/achy as ever! My anti-sickness meds are doing a reasonably good job of making me feel more normal, I'm able to eat now at least even if my appetite still isn't amazing!!

PocoyoandEllie · 06/05/2020 13:57

Ahhh glad to hear @marshmallow1102! Hope all goes well Friday, I am the same with big chats but have been reading!

I am the same with cleaning, normally a clean freak and I am massively struggling!

calipoppy · 06/05/2020 14:06

@djmbaker oh no! Keeping my fingers crossed they start to work for you soon!

Yes I've gone off SO much food and what I can stomach eating seems to change so fast! At the moment I'm mainly eating sour cream Pringles and pasta haha. After my visions of having the best diet ever during pregnancy have gone completely out the window 😂

I find that I literally only stop feeling sick while I'm eating and then for about 10 minutes after which means I eat basically non stop all day haha. Anyone else finding that?

Katbaby · 06/05/2020 15:06

So my nausea seems to have subsided a bit since this morning and I'm trying to eat little and often. Just sat in the garden reading and just seriously enjoyed a green pepper chopped up and dipped in Hummus! Freshest thing I've ate since the nausea started days ago.

Can't remember who said it on here the other day that they were enjoying fresh salad and things but that's who got me the idea of that so thank you!

I'm exhausted from my broken sleep but definitely feeling the best I've felt since the weekend 🤞🤞

djmbaker · 06/05/2020 15:20

@calipoppy yep that's me.. I'm fine when I eat.. but immediately before and shortly after I'm nauseous again. 🤦🏻‍♀️

I managed avocado on toast with a boiled egg today.. I'm now in the garden munching salted crisps! I'm worried I haven't been drinking enough! Because I've felt so shit I think my water intake has slowed down too so I'm just trying to make the effort today 😩

Anyone's partner/husband not understanding? Jordan is amazing but he is already a little bit moany about how slow and tired I am.. he said last night "how long is this going to last"
🤦🏻‍♀️ it's only been about a week .. bless him.. I blame his mum, she's one of these "I never suffer.. I never have sickness.. I'm always fine.. when I was pregnant your dad would never have known" etc etc 😴

OP posts:
Snapper81 · 06/05/2020 15:31

@Marshmallow1102 do you mind me asking what anti sickness meds you're on?
I took zofran (ondasteron) with my daughter and they were great. I'm really considering asking to go on them again because I'm just a nauseous mess at the moment. Only 6+3 so I know I potentially have a lot more time to go before it gets better naturally. It was 16 weeks with my daughter...I cant go on like this another 10 weeks!!

Marshmallow1102 · 06/05/2020 16:04

@Snapper81 I'm on cyclizine, instructions say 3 a day, but I'm actually only needing one first thing in the morning and that's enough to keep me going!

There's no way I could have kept up work whilst as nauseous as I was, and was worried about judgement from colleagues if I took sick leave "just for morning sickness"!

ElectricTonight · 06/05/2020 16:59

Sorry to hear of all the nausea and sickness 😖 I've had a ham sandwich today, I usually hate ham but all of a sudden gone the other way! I've completely gone off of chips even though last week I had about three portions! I made some pancakes today so had a nibble on those. It seems I go between being starving to feeling sick it's a never ending cycle.

I'd defo recommend taking anti sickness tablets if all else fails as it's not nice feeling so unwell every day. I've ordered my folic acid tablets better late than never, gone for just the folic acid this time as I had to stop taking the pregnacare in my last pregnancies because it was them that made me feel so rough!

Hope you all have a lovely evening and manage to eat some dinner xx

dixiedo · 06/05/2020 18:58

Interesting about the pregnacare tablets. I've been taking the seven seas one and I'm not very well. I've managed to eat more today.

I've lost 8lb in three weeks now I'm not too worried as I had gained weight at beginning of lockdown so that may have come off from just not eating junky food anyway.

We walked to the beach before and I was sick in a dog poop bag 🙃

Is anyone anxious at all? X

Rnic1x · 06/05/2020 19:19

@dixiedo I'm feeling anxious today. I've been wearing sickness bands all afternoon and I haven't felt sick since but now I'm worrying it's gone away something might be wrong I can't bloody win 😂 hopefully my scan appointment comes though soon, I'll feel better then x

dixiedo · 06/05/2020 19:33

Aww that's rubbish.
I feel anxious too. I don't know what about though 🤷🏻‍♀️

Another question....

Is anybody feeling like it may be twins ???? X
