Oh god my Nana bless her has just dropped me and dp 2 T bone steaks off (she dosent know I'm pregnant) my absolute fave normally but it's made me cry knowing I have to eat it well done 😭 I'm a full on rare girl... Rare steak is the thing I'll miss the most even over alcohol

djmbaker · 05/05/2020 13:16

@Rnic1x I am so with you!!! I love my steak rare. 😭

Rnic1x · 05/05/2020 13:18

@djmbaker I cried when she left dp was like what's happened I said holding the steak I won't even like it 😂😂😂 he's getting used to me crying over nothing 🙈 I'm just hoping with some garlic mushroom sauce it won't taste to bad well done 😭

CooperLooper · 05/05/2020 13:22

Hey @wearenotyourkind 😊 yeah spotting seems really common so try not to worry. Which I know is easier said than done cos all we're doing at the minute is worrying! I'm glad you've got your midwife appointment booked, mine was useful for asking daft questions and getting general reassurance.

Symptom wise I've had pretty intense nausea from about 6 weeks onwards, no sickness yet luckily but the nausea is draining. Can't wait for it to fade off. Also my boobs are absolutely enormous and so painful, so I'm spending this afternoon researching maternity bras! 😅 ankle is doing fine too, still another 2-4 weeks until I can have my boot removed but it's getting there! X

Katbaby · 05/05/2020 13:29

@Rnic1x I also eat my steak rare so I won't be eating any steak til after cos the thought of it well done breaks my heart 🤣

@Ssammy so happy for your good news on your scan!

Rnic1x · 05/05/2020 13:31

@katbaby I know I wouldn't have bought it myself but she's got it from the butcher's and I know dp will love it 🙈 I won't be buying any until it's over x

Elmlee · 05/05/2020 14:11

I have my steak blue. Having a well done one the other day was very odd. It was very tender and well seasoned so it was ok.

T bones though 🤤🤤🤤🤤

Ssammy · 05/05/2020 14:14

Thanks everyone, when you haven't told anyone its amazing how supportive everyone on here is and how much it helps!

@Rnic1x I feel your pain, I'm a rare steak girl too and cooking it well done is upsetting but hopefully with the sauce it will be ok. I had a similar thing, my parents phoned to ask if I wanted their lay-z spa the other day as I've always wanted one, I obviously had to turn it down and I feel so ungrateful, they seemed a bit confused as they knew I wanted one

Rnic1x · 05/05/2020 14:17

@Elmlee yeah I'm thinking I'll smother it in sauce and it should be ok 🤦🏻‍♀️
@ssammy ohh god I wish we could go in them pregnant we have a few spa days coming up later on in the year I'll be bored while everyone enjoys it 😂

Snapper81 · 05/05/2020 14:40

Hey everyone, I've got a heartbeat too! Star
It was very scary because I had to have 3 different scans to find baby let alone the heartbeat. Ended up transvaginal, and there it was!
I thought I was 7 weeks but turns out I'm 6+2 so my little bean was very small!
Everything looks healthy and I'm SO relieved.

@Ssammy, I'm so glad yours went well too! That wait while they look around is awful, isnt it. I burst into tears when she eventually found the heartbeat.

ceebee21 · 05/05/2020 14:44

Afternoon all, havent been speaking much on here!

Had spotting last week for a few days... only brown and when I wiped... has since disappeared..

Managed to get an early scan next week with the EPU due to previous losses... fingers crossed for that!

I am starting to feel nauseous each day now, but not actually being sick!

x

ChristmasEve2020 · 05/05/2020 14:46

I was hoping someone could answer this for me. When you do your own heart rate, should you be able to see an increase? Or is it just when you have a scan they can measure both of yours? My heart rate is pretty much the same and I’m 7 weeks. It’s starting to worry me.

djmbaker · 05/05/2020 14:55

@Snapper81 aww bless you, congratulations!! The wait for them to say all Is ok is torture isn't it??? I cried too! Literally burst into tears when she said "yep there is your little baby" 😭😭😭
Your about the same as me, I'm 6 +4 they think, makes it feel so real when you can see it there inside your tummy doesn't it?? 💕

Natt99 · 05/05/2020 16:22

Another rare steak fan 😫 I will really miss it along with red wine. So glad you guys got heart beats and all is looking well!
@Rnic1x do you think maybe it might be worth reaching out to that girl you saw and asking her not to say anything? If she had any decency she shouldn't but at least if she does you've got evidence you asked her not too and can call her out on it. Assume she was there for similar reasons?
Our doctors receptionists are the worst, when I was in there recently they were discussing a sex injury that an OAP got 😟 funny but very unprofesh!!!!

Rnic1x · 05/05/2020 16:29

@Natt99 I said that to dp but he said just to leave it... I doubt she's pregnant it was a bit odd she had to fill a form in which nobody else did was in a room for few minutes then came out not entirely sure what she was in for tbh. I'm going to leave it and if anybody says anything we will know it's come from her xx

Natt99 · 05/05/2020 16:42

@Rnic1x yeah that's true, I'd definitely call her out if people become aware and you haven't told anyone. Sounds very odd.
On the day I found out I accidentally sent a due date calculation to a friends group chat rather than my husband 😫 I quickly deleted it and no one has said anything but it'll be funny when we do announce it and they'll be like "we know!!!"

Rnic1x · 05/05/2020 16:48

@Natt99 she's recently just split up from her partner and already has 2 kids so I don't think she'll have another one... Oh god, I keep all my pregnancy related pics in a locked folder now I nearly sent my mam a test pic instead of dp 🙈

Natt99 · 05/05/2020 16:58

@Rnic1x ah ok. 😂 what are we like?! Good shout, I should really do that too! Also need to be careful if I take and screenshots on Facebook and insta as all my adverts are baby related now 🙈

ew1990 · 05/05/2020 17:32

Just caught up ladies. So Nice to see all the little beans. I had two early scans at EPAU last pregnancy for bleeding and I'm really tempted to pay for one this time.

Sorry to everyone experiencing sickness and nausea. It's awful 😩

Elmlee · 05/05/2020 18:37

@Natt99 my Instagram and Facebook adverts are all prams, scans and nursery furniture!!!

Can't wait until our scan week today, so nervous. Only person who knows is my husbands parents as we were supposed to nip over for a glass of wine for my MIL birthday and I didn't want to make up an excuse. Apparently I'll be 7+4 but can't wait to see on a scan and get a more accurate date.

As for everyone else I'm going to try and wait until 12 weeks unless I have to mention it. The midwife I spoke to last week said I should avoid unnecessary human contact. But if I have to go back to work I don't think I'll be able to avoid it xx

december2020 · 05/05/2020 18:56

Such lovely thread catching up to do this evening! 😍

Aaaaah amazing for the scans and heartbeats!!! I'm so happy!!! Was it a really magical moment? I'm getting such scanxiety for mine, just in case it's bad news and it's the 4th time people have tried to book a meeting during my scan slot!

I'm also a rare steak girl through and through! Basically everything I love I can't have anymore! No rare steak or tartar, no raw seafood and sushi, no ceviche, no stinky cheeses, no booze. I'm going to lose so much weight if I don't end up eating my weight in carbs and preggo friendly cheeses!

Also really been craving Scandinavian candy lately (my home) so I've basically bulk ordered a tonne of sweets and chocolate 🤤 so my healthy diet is going great 👍

Is anyone else getting waves of nausea rather than a constant or a specific time of day? They just come and suddenly I feel so 🤢 and a little unsure on how bad I'm going to feel (no vom yet).

december2020 · 05/05/2020 18:58

@Elmlee haha yes!! My last social media ad was baby gap Star Wars collection 😂 can't be showing anyone my feeds anymore!

goldflakepaint · 05/05/2020 20:01

Hi everyone, can I join? After two years ttc, a mild male factor infertility diagnosis and our fertility clinic referral on hold due to COVID-19, it ended up happening 'the old-fashioned way'. We feel very grateful that one of dp's hammerhead sperm finally got in there! Smile Still feel like I am part of the infertility community though as that experience stays with you no matter what.

I'm 6 weeks today and due 29th December going on NHS due date calculator. Although when I was getting booking in scan appointment, I was told that they have estimated date of 2nd Jan as they are going on an average 28 day cycle. I have always had shorter periods and have been tracking ov for some time so pretty sure I am right but having an private early dating scan on 27th May so hopefully they can confirm. I'm pretty sure I'll be 9 weeks then and 10 weeks when I have my booking appointment on the 2nd of June. Which feels quite late but I'm told I'll be in a few days later for blood tests anyway. All very new to us- when you spend so long getting pregnant, you often don't think much about how you'll feel when you actually get there. Pregnancy was starting to feel like a mythic state of being Grin I am feeling quite anxious at times as this is our first pregnancy and very early days (also I am not the most relaxed person) but also feel incredibly grateful that we have got to this point and trying to enjoy the excitement and anticipation of it all!

Wonderful to hear about people's scans today.

Carabu1 · 05/05/2020 20:38

@goldflakepaint congratulations! I feel exactly the same - I know everything you could want about how to get pregnant, but the day I got a bfp I realised I had no idea what would happen next! I also think in my case infertility etc has made me more anxious about all the risks that I thought I’d be. It’s not helping I’m 5+5 and feel totally fine - no sore boobs, nothing. Just taking comfort in fact I got a cb3+ today so there must be something going on in there....!

Bumble84 · 05/05/2020 20:52

@goldflakepaint I can relate to the entirety of your post, right down to a short cycle. Me and my OH were also ttc 2 years and I am convinced I’m further on that what the official predictors say but I’m taking that as a positive. We have put it down to being distracted by Coronavirus and didn’t pay much attention to ttc in our brains and bam it worked 😁 so happy as we were also facing the prospect of an even longer wait for IVF given the lockdown and were actually starting to think that it just maybe wasn’t meant to be for us. I’m still in a state of shock!
