Thank you @Fouryearslater. I was on it last time but it caused horrendous constipation. I am going straight to suppositries this time.

I am really hoping it helps with nausea. It has a bit today but I dont know why, I feel it could be psychological rather than real after being bed bound for 2 days!

Sorry to hear you arent doing good. How much did you get?

Spoons1987 · 04/05/2020 20:58

Great to see the lovely scan photos Smile. Hope you all sleep a lot more peacefully tonight!

@filthyforfirth (it won’t let me tag?!) sorry to hear you’re feeling so rubbish. Hopefully the ondansetron will work some magic. I’ve been floored with exhaustion more than nausea recently. I’ve never known anything like it, I feel like I’ve been sedated. Things should start getting easier soon...I’ve also got my scan on 22nd and it feels an age away!

60sPony · 04/05/2020 21:00

@Tonicandgin I wore a mask to hospital last week and it was totally normal- everyone in the waiting room had one on and all clinical staff. Would recommend if you have one to wear...

FilthyforFirth · 04/05/2020 21:04

How far gone will you be @Spoons1987? I am annoyed that I will be 13+1. I did ask for a sooner one but was told that as long as it's by 13+6 it's fine.

Spoons1987 · 04/05/2020 21:26

@filthyforfirth I think I’ll be about 12+5. It is a shame having to wait even longer, but then it’s less days spent anxious on the other side waiting to feel movements?! Trying to see a silver lining! I keep checking our nearest private clinic for any cancellations but no chance. I’m feeling quite reassured by the fact I still feel absolutely shocking though.

Pink15 · 04/05/2020 21:39

@Spoons1987 I'm the same the exhaustion has been the worst symptom - the sedation way of describing it is perfect haha

SqidgeBum · 04/05/2020 21:49

I am feeling the exhaustion whenever I do anything. I climb the stairs and I am puffing. We went for a walk today and I was wrecked after 10 minutes. DH keeps saying its because I 'havent moved much in the past 6 weeks'. He doesnt seem to see the correlation between not wanting to walk and the puffing. It doesnt help that my next door neighbour is 30 weeks pregnant and is (somehow) doing 12000 steps a day while also WFH, managing the house and her 4 year old. I look like such a lazy bum.

Spoons1987 · 04/05/2020 22:12

Yes, I’m also a sedated mess after every walk and any uphill path is quickly dodged! It’s hard not to compare to how other people manage pregnancy, but it really is so different for everyone. I had a lovely labour last time so I figure the first trimester and later SPD is my payment. Obviously it doesn’t work like that, but it has helped me stop feeling so down on how my body copes at this stage.

Going to chase my iron levels this week just to be sure it can’t be fixed. Fingers crossed May brings some energy!

SqidgeBum · 05/05/2020 07:54

This is the issue with me. I am a terrible pregnant person. I have horrendous MS, I ache from week 12 (my hips are already hurting at week 14), I spend most of my time exhausted, I can barely move in the third trimester, and then I am rewarded with the labour and birth from hell (last time it was 52 hours, all pain relief made me sick so I just stopped, and it ended in episiotomy and ventouse). And for some reason, I am doing it again 😨 I think DH looks at me and thinks 'she must be faking it. Nobody else is this bad'.

Pumpkin108 · 05/05/2020 09:04

Does anyone else have their scan today? Mine's this morning and I'm sooo nervous... I just don't feel pregnant so convinced myself there's nothing there even though we had an early scan at 6 weeks

Natopp · 05/05/2020 09:17

Good luck with scans today, I'm on Thursday! So so excited/desperate for it to be done😂

Natopp · 05/05/2020 09:19

@FilthyforFirth I will be (by my calcs) 13 weeks for my scan on Thursday. Would have rather had it earlier especially as I've seen a few people in mumsnet have had their dates moved forward about 6+ days.

FilthyforFirth · 05/05/2020 09:25

Yes that is my concern as well @natopp. I am actually being scanned by my epu on Thursday as I have a bad pain, so it will be interesting to see where I measure. I will be 11 weeks exactly according to my dates.

HarrietM87 · 05/05/2020 09:27

Just had my scan today - all well! Was moved even further ahead - 13+4 now (private scan said 13+3, I’m 12+6 by LMP), so official due date is 6 November - anyone else? The baby wouldn’t get in the right position for the measurements so I had a really long scan in the end - it was lovely.

MrsR87 · 05/05/2020 09:29

@Tonicandgin

I did not wear a mask last week for my scan. I was in the waiting room in total for about 40 mins and so saw quite a few people milling around in that time and three were wearing masks. I don’t know for other hospitals but at mine, the maternity bit has it’s own entrance if you park in the right car park and to get to the antenatal bit you walk through corridors that lead to other maternity services like the birth ward. In the 4-5 mins walk I had the only people I saw were staff or other mothers to be leaving the ward...it was strangely quiet. I didn’t feel in danger from not wearing a mask but if you feel that you need to wear one, other people will be doing so too!

HarrietM87 · 05/05/2020 09:38

I don’t actually have a mask so not wearing one (in the hospital now). The staff are wearing them but no other patients as far as I can see. If I’d had one I would probably have worn it though! I’ve got a scarf to wrap round my face 🤣

Happymama24 · 05/05/2020 10:17

I had my scan last week and the hospital check your temperature before your allowed to enter outside in a marquee and also give you a mask to use. Very few people in there but all staff and patients had masks on

Becca65 · 05/05/2020 10:35

@MrsR87 let's hope it's a good date! A few of us now!

Becca65 · 05/05/2020 10:41

@Pumpkin108 good luck today. You're exactly like me - I couldn't get my head round that I was pregnant and believe it despite a 6 wk scan, and was literally panicked that there would be nothing on the scan and them say ... Err, are you sure?? I was so stressed in the scan that I didn't really take anything in and now still can't fully believe it!

tgwjslo · 05/05/2020 10:56

Hi everyone! These threads move so quick :)
I was wondering whether people are announcing their pregnancy after their 12 weeks scan or after receiving their NT results?

SqidgeBum · 05/05/2020 11:04

We announced after the scan.

HarrietM87 · 05/05/2020 11:07

I would have waited until I got my screening results, but since I’ve got my harmony results back we are telling people today now I’ve had my scan. My friend had a low risk scan but then her bloods gave her a 1 in 10 downs risk. Baby turned out to be perfectly healthy but she had a horrible wait before finding that out and everyone was congratulating her in the meantime. Obvs depends how you’d feel about that/who you’re planning to tell etc. The risks are tiny.

wannabebump · 05/05/2020 11:37

We told our parents after the scan was low risk yesterday because the NT combined results are taking 3 weeks to come back just now.x

eleanorsos · 05/05/2020 11:41

Congrats on the scan @HarrietM87 and good luck @pumpkin108!

I didn't wear a mask at the scan either but some people did have them (and most of the staff of course) so don't think anyone would mind either way.

We've just started telling everyone today and it's so lovely to finally have a bit of extra moral support when you've been keeping it to yourself for weeks! Work being really supportive too which is a huge relief as I only started there last month!!

SqidgeBum · 05/05/2020 11:41

I figure there is always a risk of things going wrong no matter how far in you are. I know people who have had downs babies, who have had complications detected at 20 weeks, who have lost babies at 30 weeks +. I am not trying to scare anyone, but there will never be a time where you are 100% sure all is ok. For me personally, if I found out my child had downs, then I have a child with downs. Its still my child. If things go wrong, then my family will know anyway. Its nothing to be ashamed of. We waited til 12 weeks, we had a low risk scan, and yes, we could have waited til after the tests came back before telling people, but then you are just waiting for the 20 weeks anomaly scan, and you could wait forever. For me, what will happen will happen.
