Me too! All being well, I'll be due 26th December! :) All a bit overwhelmed at the moment! I spent all day yesterday researching everything but trying to hold off getting too carried away in case it's tempting fate! Easier said than done though! Have you contacted your doctor yet?

VWLolabunny9119 · 20/04/2020 14:44

Hi @millsy2019, no I haven't yet. I thought I might leave it till week 5. Not sure if that's the right thing to do or not but I'm a bit worried about going to the doctor at this time but I know it's something I can't avoid forever. Do you feel any differently? I'm soo tired but not sure if it's the effect of isolating at home.
I had a chemical pregnancy back in February. I was only 4 weeks and 3 days so I feel nervous of it happening again.

Hi 👋🏻 can I join? Congratulations! I got my BFP today after 9 months of trying. Think I'm still in shock! I'm 34 and my husband is 39 and this is our first pregnancy. With the dates of my LMP, I am 4 weeks with a due date of 27th December. I have spoken to the GP today as I need a higher dosage of Folic Acid due to high BMI (have been trying to lose weight). Apparently I can self-refer to midwife team from 6 weeks. Here's hoping we all have a healthy 9 months! 💗💗💗💗

millsy2019 · 20/04/2020 15:43

I contacted the GP today so am waiting for a callback from the midwife. I wasn’t sure if it’s too early but I just felt like I needed to do something! I’m still in shock too so even just speaking to a midwife will ground me a little bit! So far my boobs are a bit sore and I feel constantly bloated. That started quite a while before I got a positive test though. How about you guys?

Congratulations to you both. Smile

VWLolabunny9119 · 20/04/2020 16:47

Congratulations @Wearenotyourkind! My breasts feel full and quite sore already too. I also feel a bit bloated and....tmi constipated. Feel like I need to wee more as well.

Thank you 🥰 yes to the bloating!

Whitey5 · 21/04/2020 11:46

Hello everyone :) Hope it's ok to join.
I've just had my first BFP - first baby at 33 and trying not to get too excited!! Due date says December 29th, perhaps a 2021er!
I've just tried contacting my GP but they're closed and only operating an urgent telephone triage service due to Covid. Might try again next week. Is this ok do you think?
Congratulations everyone else :)

Wearenotyourkind · 21/04/2020 15:41

Hi @Whitey5 welcome and congratulations! I only spoke to a GP yesterday when I got my BFP as I knew I'd need a prescription for higher dosage of folic acid. Aside from that, I have to self-refer to midwife team but can't do that until at least 6 weeks.

CiCiClementine · 22/04/2020 13:55

Hi everyone, congratulations to you all.
I had a positive result last weekend after 9 months of trying 🥰 this will be my second child and being pregnant and having a two year old is very different to first time round!
Our Doc surgery is closed at the moment (obvs) but on their website is a number to call for the midwife which I did yesterday.
I’d Suggest you make contact with your midwife soon as they are under pressure at the moment and better to give them lots of time to get you a 12 week scan appointment etc. Sometimes you have to chase! Probably differs countrywide but in my area, the blood tests happen at the 12 week scan. Everything else beforehand is over the phone currently. Partners are also not able to attend 12 week scan which is a shame but most important thing is the scan takes place. And of course, things may be more relaxed by mid June when the scan is due.
Good luck and best wishes to you all!
X

Wearenotyourkind · 22/04/2020 14:37

Congratulations! @CiCiClementine we were also trying for 9 months 💗

YahBasic · 22/04/2020 14:42

Have joined a couple of these threads so far! I’m 6+4 and due around 17th.

Today is the first day I’ve felt really ill, very nauseous and retching. Doesn’t help that work is v stressful at the mo, and all I want to do is lie down!

I’ve been contacted by the midwife after self referring & need to get my booking in appointment scheduled when I’m 8-10 weeks.

Don’t think we will do a pre 12 week scan but def think we will do the NIPT.

It’s our first and only the second cycle, so still seems unreal. We are waiting until after the scan to tell people in case of MMC.

Whitey5 · 22/04/2020 16:40

Thank you @CiCiClementine that’s really helpful and congratulations! Two sounds like a handful but super exciting.
I’ve been round the houses a bit but managed to speak to the community midwife in the end. I just need to make an appointment in a couple of weeks time for an 8-10 week booking appointment! Eeeek Smile

CiCiClementine · 22/04/2020 19:10

Yes they can be really difficult to get hold of sometimes and so busy!
Glad you have spoken to someone. Makes it all the more real! X

keepcalmcarrylife · 26/04/2020 15:39

Hope you don't mind me joining. I'm 6+2 due 18th December with my first! As a healthcare professional feeling very anxious about working and getting through first trimester, also keeping it private. Having a private early scan next week.

Whitey5 · 26/04/2020 17:38

Hi @keepcalmcarrylife ! Nice to hear from you. I totally understand your anxiety. I also work in healthcare and care for Covid and non-Covid patients. I’ve actually told my boss (although I never normally would have this early) as it pregnancy puts you into the ‘vulnerable’ category. Mostly because there’s so little evidence as to how the virus affects women and unborn babies. I was also feeling mega anxious and was being given Covid patients to look after so regularly. It’s definitely taken the weight off my mind and now only work with non Covid patients. My boss was really understanding and discreet so I’d say that’s something to consider. Good luck! Smile

Hello, I'm due on 28th December calculating from 1st day of last period, but I have irregular cycles so could be a few days off. I did 4 tests (all strongly positive) before I allowed myself to get excited, I don't have any symptoms yet except the missed period so I'm terrified it's not going to work out. Tomorrow morning I am going to do another test and ten ring my GPS to see what to do next. Is it normal to obsess of all the ways it might not work out? I think I might be an anxious pessimist Confused

Clackers89 · 26/04/2020 21:58

Hi ladies,
Hope you don't mind me joining the feed. I'm a 1st time mum to be and due around the 13th December. Congratulations to you all Smile
Was hoping for some advice or if anyone has suffered the same symptoms. I woke up this morning and went for a wee, when I wiped I had brown discharge/blood. I called 111 and they got an out of hours GP to call me. She went through a list of symptoms and said they would like me to go in for a scan but can't see me until Wednesday. I'm an absolute mess. Scared and extremely worried of the worst. I've been on Google which I know is the worst thing I could have done but my symptoms are trying up with an eptopic pregnancy or even miscarrage. Just wondering if anyone has suffered any unusual pains or blood since finding out they were pregnant? Would be great to hear from you all xxx

Clackers89 · 26/04/2020 22:01

Hi @Allusernamesaretakenbutthisone I was the same as you! I took 3 tests and wanted to do another. They say you can have a wrong negative but it's highly unlikely to get a wrong positive so I would be happy as from your tests you've done it sounds like you are deffo pregnant! How exciting! x

Whitey5 · 27/04/2020 01:46

Hi @Allusernamesaretakenbutthisone
How much are you bleeding? Enough to fill pads or just spotting? I think a lot of women have some form of light bleeding during early pregnancy, but this isn’t necessarily a sign of miscarriage or ectopic if it is light. I’d would be out of my mind with worry too, but hope this helps. Fingers crossed for you x

Clackers89 · 27/04/2020 05:44

Hi @Allusernamesaretakenbutthisone thanks for your reply Smile
It is literally just spotting at the moment. I've had quite bad tummy pain too but not sure if that could also be stress related.
Feel really nervous and worried but so glad the hospital have got me in for a scan... Just wish I didn't have to wait until Wednesday to be seen. Feel like I'm going out of my mind already with worry and it's only been a day! Xx

CiCiClementine · 27/04/2020 07:24

I’ve read you can have spotting in early pregnancy and tummy pain as starts to implant. Hope it is all ok for you. Try not to worry x

Clackers89 · 27/04/2020 07:59

Thank you. It's just sure a worrying time isn't it and think at the moment too having to self isolate is really taking it's toll! Lots of time to sit round and think... Too much time in fact!! I think I'm around 7 weeks now. So hopefully it's nothing to worry about xxx

keepcalmcarrylife · 27/04/2020 10:11

@whitey5 thanks for the response! Luckily at the moment I've managed to avoid suspected COVIDs but if I'm faced with it I'll have to speak up. Sadly, from friend's experiences, once you tell work confidentiality isn't upheld and it's everyone's business. It will be so nice to reach 12 weeks and have a bit of relief and reassurance! Grin

VWLolabunny9119 · 28/04/2020 08:55

Hi @Clackers89. Fingers crossed everything goes ok for you. If it's just a small amount of spotting there's a good chance you'll be ok. I had a miscarriage at 5 weeks in February. It did start with spotting but then quite quickly was like a heavy period. I got pregnant again 2 cycles later which is great but also makes it hard to get too excited for a 2nd time.
Sending you lots of well wishes! XFlowers

Thanks so much for your reply @VWLolabunny9119 Flowers
I haven't had any more bleeding/spotting since Sunday morning so I'm hoping that's a positive sign.
My anxiety levels are through the roof and it's hard to think of anything other than the worse.
How are you feeling? Have you contacted the doctors yet? Xx
