Hi ladies,

Finally getting a few lucid moments from the crippling neseua so wanted to start a thread for anyone due around this time.

There are a fair few threads knocking around for around the same months so this one is more for women who prefer not to do the whole Facebook thing or join what app groups. Well not quite yet anyway.

Of course anyone is welcome and if joiners decide to link up in those other ways at whatever point then I for one will definitely support it. It's so good to have support across whatever platforms we use as women, we need either other

💪 To the sisterhood

Anyway. My stats are-

Age 33 this past April
We have two children already both girls age 2 and 10
My Partner/fiancee is also 33 and we've been together 11 years,

We were supposed to be having a civil partnership (yes he is a man) last month but it was cancelled due to covid so it's now next year.

Expecting non identical twins the end of November, but good chance I'll get cut open or induced before then.

See how far we get!

I'm 8 weeks and 2

I had a missed miscarriage at my 12 week scan back in October so this pregnancy took me 5 months on from then to conceive.

Enough about me, how is everyone feeling?

The first trimester sucks so hard doesn't it!

Oh and has anyone had their booking in appointments yet?

Hi @ChampooPapi thanks for setting up and sharing. How exciting with twins 🙏👌 blessed.
My name is Caroline but I get called Caz. I live in Aberdeen Scotland and am 9 +1 with my 1st. Had a MMC last year and didn't try again until Feb and got lucky 1st time. It will be our first but me and Ally been married 5 years and together 12 in total.
I had a booking in appointment 2 weeks ago over the phone and my bloods are this Thursday. I booked a private scan at 10 weeks so next Monday and then NHS scan is 15th May. I think my due date is 22nd Novemeber but I am sure it'll change 😬
Exciting times 🌞❤️

Bobbieblu · 20/04/2020 07:43

Hello, Im due about the same time and it would be great to join. Due early Dec with non-identical twins (I’m 7+2). First pregnancy and has taken a while to get here. Booking in appointment isn’t until 11 weeks for me. Nausea is awful!

ChampooPapi · 20/04/2020 08:01

Welcome @Cmacq32 and @Bobbieblu 🤗

Firstly @Cmacq32 congratulations to you and your husband, you guys have got this certainly. After being together that long your relationship is well prepared for sharing a baby together, it is going to be quite honestly one of the best times of your life when you have your little one, it's so much fun too which so many people don't tell you when your pregnant with your first. You must be over to moon after your own loss, it's not easy afterwards to say the least is it?. Are you having the Harmony test at your 10 week scan?

@Bobbieblu amazing your also having non identical twins! 💜
We also will no doubt be due around exactly the same time because I'm assuming we get induced around 8 months. Huge congratulations! If it's any consolation my sickness was so bad and it is slowing getting back now at just past 8 weeks so keep trucking girl you are on the home straight to the promised Land of feeling better. I know the good times never really roll until the second trimester but week 5 till 8 is really pretty grim. I have been superglued to all my soft furnishings, or in bed holding my head under a duvet all day.

Are you having another scan before your 12 week one? Getting through these next few weeks we are going to need this thread, it's a slog to 12 weeks.

Clemmie83 · 20/04/2020 08:37

Hi All!

I'm also due around the same time - 28th Nov, 8+2. It's our first, myself and my partner are both 36, together for 8 years married for 2. We were trying for 15 months and had started the process for fertility treatment so I'm over the moon to have conceived naturally however at the same time I'm terrified of anything going wrong!!

Looking forward to getting to know you all...

RunnerGirl123 · 20/04/2020 08:42

Hi all! Congratulations to you all! I'm Emma, due 3rd December currently 7w4d. I have been trying for 4 years, had 2 miscarriages in 2018 and was due to start next steps with the fertility clinic after surgery in January (was hoping for Clomid) and I was lucky enough to fall pregnant naturally. My anxiety comes and goes, as does my nausea but just taking it one day at a time! Would love to join you all on this journey. How's everyone feeling today?

ChampooPapi · 20/04/2020 09:02

@Clemmie83 welcome 🙌 I know exactly what you mean about thinking something will go wrong, the first trimester absolutely blows! It's not a time with any of my pregnancies I look back fondly on. Wow, 15 months is an incredibly long time to try for, you must have gone through so so much in that time, I can't imagine. So did you get a scan recently? It's a surreal time to be pregnant isn't it!

@RunnerGirl123 hi Emma, huge congratulations 🙌🌈 I just can't imagine what 4 years of trying and then the miscarriages must do to your anxiety's during this first trimester. It must be incredibly difficult for you to keep level headed but by just taking every day at a time and not looking ahead to much, your definitely doing the right thing. The neseua thing is now like worst every other day for me, is that the same for you? I think levels double every 48 hours so makes sense.

Clemmie83 · 20/04/2020 09:09

@ChampooPapi Thanks, it's definitely been a journey trying! No scan yet unfortunately...😔 I was due to have a private one at the weekend however it was cancelled as they've been called on to support the NHS so have rebooked for 5th May. It can't come soon enough, just want to know everything is ok, terrified of a MMC. I completed a self referral form for the midwife at 6 weeks and still not heard anything back about booking appointment/scan etc. They say they'll get back within 10 working days which unfortunately because of Easter is even longer! 🙈

EithneBlue · 20/04/2020 09:14

Hey,

Just popped over from the other thread to mark a place here as I don't currently want to use FB (will look at that again after 12 week scan). I'm 8+5 today (due 25th November) and have my booking in appointment over the phone tomorrow -- just filled out the form they sent which includes family medical and mental health history for both me and my husband... that was pretty terrifying... so many 'yes' boxes ticked. Mine and husband's medical history isn't too bad though (although I'm sure my hypermobility will love the relaxin).
The form also has a 'do you feel anxious/nervous/worried?' question ... I put yes and then wrote "I think this is normal, though..."
Hoping to get a 12 week scan date and some more information tomorrow.
Symptom-wise I'm getting off quite lightly, I think: very thirsty and tired but not much nausea (random gagging though which is odd and slightly inconvenient). Boobs a little sore but not all the time. Bloating like a champ after eating, though: husband says I should time-lapse my belly throughout dinner.

:-)

cupoftea84 · 20/04/2020 09:16

Morning ladies,

I'm 8 weeks today with my second baby.

Very odd time to be pregnant. I imagine for the first timers it'll be more scary. Where I am we get booked in over the phone then bloods done. After that unless there's a problem it's 12 and 20 scans and start seeing a midwife at 28 weeks.

Sounds very basic care compared to my previous pregnancy. I do understand why but I dread to think what's going to be missed. I should be having a GD test but they've stopped them for example. If baby seems big they might test 😕 that's it.

Anyway positive thoughts at least we can get through the nausea without having to commute or be in the office.

ChampooPapi · 20/04/2020 09:18

@Clemmie83 oh God it's torture the waiting, and they really should have your booking in appointment sorted. I would call them today and just say you need to book your first appointment as your over 8 weeks. Just leave a message and I'm sure they'll get back to you within the next few days. Don't wait any longer for it to appear, you'll be supprised how much you can actually bypass and arrange by ringing them directly.

Although funnily enough mine is on Wednesday at 2 and I rang to ask questions about the annomly tests and somehow ended up agreeing to it being moved to 4 pm 🤦.

I had no notes either so I rang and gave them my email and they sent them through about thirty minutes later.

Go for it, you are aloud to ask for these things!

@EithneBlue welcome, I recognize your name from the other thread. If you time laps your belly you absolutely must upload it here somehow 😉. Glad your feeling ok ish, let us know how your booking in goes, I have learnt to not talk about my neurosis or anxiety too much at those appointments over the years otherwise they always seem to cling onto it and think I'm certified insane. When actually I spend most of my time pretty content and plodding through.

Something about those appointments brings out the crazy in you though, it's like they are the police and you immediately feel the guilt fear!

JustFrigginNameChange · 20/04/2020 09:26

Morning! I am due 27/11 with my second. Looks like I'll be going it alone as the father and I just cant see eye to eye. I've had my booking in appointment. Just eagerly awaiting the scan now.

ChampooPapi · 20/04/2020 09:31

@cupoftea84 welcome 🥰

Yes the one on one appointments were fairly sparse with my last pregnancy to be honest, we were in Bristol then (now back in Devon) but this time they are really no existant other then essential scan at 12 and 20 weeks. Have you thought of getting the not/harmony test private? Or your diabetes test? It's certainly not an option for everyone though we can ill afford the test but are sticking it on the credit card. With multiples I really need the reassurence from that test, and the fact it'll come back by my 12 week scan means it'll inform the next steps at an earlier point if there are any red flags.

It is a crazy time, bloody terrifing for some depending on circumstances and especially if your a first time mother. How old is your first may I ask?

OP posts:
ChampooPapi · 20/04/2020 09:32

Welcome @JustFrigginNameChange really sorry to hear that, but we'll be here for you 💪. That scan can't come soon enough!

RunnerGirl123 · 20/04/2020 09:38

@ChampooPapi thank you for your kind words. Looking back 4 years has flown by but at the time it felt such a long time - strange really. I'll have good days, then I'll suddenly be worrying that something will go wrong with this pregnancy. My symptoms aren't horrendous, but they are there so I'm hoping that's a good sign! I have a bit of nausea each day but since days are worse than others!!

My booking in appointment is on friday. I've never made it that far before, so just counting down the days. Then when I get my scan date, I might look at booking a private one for the week before so OH can join me and hopefully we can have a happy scan together. I think it'll also help my nerves for the 12 week scan if I'm going in alone.

cupoftea84 · 20/04/2020 09:40

Champoopapi yes I've just booked a prenatal safe test. It's very like harmony apparently. When I was pregnant before they couldn't do all the tests at 12 weeks, this makes me feel proactive and in control more. Bit expensive but it's important especially given how stretched the NHS is.

I'm hoping the diabetes test might be back on in a few months when I'd be due it.

I keep hoping things will be going back to normal by the time our babies are due.

lionsmum · 20/04/2020 10:10

Hi everyone, hope you don't mind if I join congratulations to everyone on this thread and those expecting their rainbow babies too, very exciting!

@ChampooPapi & @Bobbieblu congratulations to you both on the twins, what fantastic news.

We are expecting our little one at the very end of November/start of December but I will most likely be having a section again so will have an exact date, had a scan yesterday and all looked well confirming 1 pregnancy dating 7 weeks so delighted about that. We lost our son neonatally in August last year so this is all very emotional but lovely at the same time too.

Wishing everyone all the best for the months to come x

Amymone · 20/04/2020 11:23

Hi everyone! Joining because I'm 8+4 so think I'm due around the 26th. I know that's the gestational age because I had an early scan, but not quite sure where that leaves me with benchmarking against the apps etc. Oh well!!
I should be having my booking appointment by phone today, though not sure what time they will call.
Can anyone recommend useful questions to ask? My first baby and feeling a bit clueless!!

Bobbieblu · 20/04/2020 11:53

Congratulations everyone!!

It’s such an exciting but nerve wracking time for us all. I’m trying to stay positive and not go down the route of worrying about disappearing twin syndrome and missed miscarriages etc... I’ve got another early scan in a couple of weeks to check everything is progressing.

I think I’m a few days behind some of you and so really reassuring that nausea might get a bit better soon- I’ve been sleeping as much as I can during the weekends and having occasional rests whilst working from home (I honestly don’t know how people cope when they feel horrendous and have to be in their office). Is anyone else feeling shattered? And is it another thing that hopefully gets a bit better after the first trimester?

Really wishing everyone the best over the coming months!

excitednerves · 20/04/2020 12:22

Hello. I’m 8+5 due 25th November. Booking will be by phone in 2 weeks then scan 2 weeks after. The waiting is driving me crazy, especially with not being able to see anyone or have things to look forward to to break up the wait.

This is my second baby. My first is 9 months old so it’s going to be crazy having two u see 18 months. First baby was premature so kind of expecting and early second one too.

ChampooPapi · 20/04/2020 12:43

@cupoftea84 good for you on booking it, I think it'll alleviate a lot of street as well obviously if at the 12 week scan certain measurements can't be taken due to babies position, which delays things even more. You'll get a scan with the test too I should think 👣

ChampooPapi · 20/04/2020 12:45

@lionsmum absolute huge congratulations 🙌 and we will be here for you every step of the way. I am just so sorry for what you and your partner have been through. We will help you get through these early weeks 💜

OP posts:
ChampooPapi · 20/04/2020 13:46

congratulations and welcome also to @excitednerves and @Amymone 👣✨

@Amymone, sorry I've only just responded. If you haven't had your booking in I'd say the one question is to ask exactly what will happen at your 12 week scan, test wise, also ask whether you will be given the whooping cough vaccine at 20 weeks

OP posts:
ChampooPapi · 20/04/2020 13:49

@Amymone and your definitely not alone and feeling a bit clueless. Currently I think all of us are feeling this way due to the changes happening in antinatal care. Usually with these threads at some point a nurse or midwife who is expecting joins and becomes everyone's guru 🙏😊
