Hi ladies,

Finally getting a few lucid moments from the crippling neseua so wanted to start a thread for anyone due around this time.

There are a fair few threads knocking around for around the same months so this one is more for women who prefer not to do the whole Facebook thing or join what app groups. Well not quite yet anyway.

Of course anyone is welcome and if joiners decide to link up in those other ways at whatever point then I for one will definitely support it. It's so good to have support across whatever platforms we use as women, we need either other

💪 To the sisterhood

Anyway. My stats are-

Age 33 this past April
We have two children already both girls age 2 and 10
My Partner/fiancee is also 33 and we've been together 11 years,

We were supposed to be having a civil partnership (yes he is a man) last month but it was cancelled due to covid so it's now next year.

Expecting non identical twins the end of November, but good chance I'll get cut open or induced before then.

See how far we get!

I'm 8 weeks and 2

I had a missed miscarriage at my 12 week scan back in October so this pregnancy took me 5 months on from then to conceive.

Enough about me, how is everyone feeling?

The first trimester sucks so hard doesn't it!

@lionsmum they are the pits arnt they, I just actually passed out in the children's tent in the garden because my frontal lobe pain had reached some kind of peak. I just lay down in there and went into some surreal dream world.

Back on the sofa now, another day another dollar (or another snooze more like!).

A scan tomorrow 😊, how exciting and utterly terrifying! You have to report back here by the evening or we are all going to worry, tomorrow can't come soon enough 🙏

@JustFrigginNameChange that's great, really probably is for the best, what do you do? You can be vague! That's a good date for your 12 week scan too, it's good to see them all coming in now. I had my booking in over the phone yesterday and I have to ring Torbay hospital tomorrow to book my own scan , so self referring, pretty happy about that as there's enough limbo currently floating around

I have my booking this weekend and hope not to have to wait too much longer for a scan. My appt is face to face and I’m really looking forward to talking to a midwife in person, I hope it will calm me a little and will probably make it seem more real!

JustFrigginNameChange · 23/04/2020 17:49

@ChampooPapi I work in the control room for the ambulance service :) i really like my job and would hate for this pregnancy to jeopardise it. Congrats about your scan too! Do you know the date of it? It's a shame we can't bring another person in with us (thats the policy at my hospital)

JustFrigginNameChange · 23/04/2020 17:51

@ChampooPapi ignore that, I've just reread your post and you are calling them tomorrow :) I'm getting ahead of myself!

ChampooPapi · 23/04/2020 18:49

@JustFrigginNameChange your job is awesome! So yes I concur on you wanting to get a bit further into things before notifying them, especially as your coping well. Obviously if you get hit with any really strong symptoms though you are completely in your rights to let them know and take time you need, but I understand your position is so important and you want to keep working. I am supposed to be doing a nursing degree and was actually going to an open day in Exeter in May. As it'll be full time it's obvious now on the back burner until these twins are in pre school, I think as long as I'm under 40 by the time I qualify then it's ok right? 🤔 I'm 33 so I think I'll just about make it.

There will be no more children after these two that is a certain, I really hope they are both doing ok in there. I've been certainly been feeling the symptoms all today, I've been absolutely wiped out and just felt awful again. It better be a good sign of baby's thriving, I will definitely be in tears again when I see there tow heartbeats at the next scan.

*two heartbeats

OP posts:
ChampooPapi · 23/04/2020 18:50

And why doesn't my phone have a magic scanning devise so I can see there little hearts!

OP posts:
ChampooPapi · 23/04/2020 18:51

Probably wouldn't be good to be honest, the constant checking, the inability to locate them.... But I would very much like to just receive some kind of text each week, Friday for instance, saying 'your baby is fine' 😆

RunnerGirl123 · 23/04/2020 18:56

@Clemmie83 I'm the same. Totally gone off liquids, the thought of them make me nauseous and feel iffy after I drink anything especially water / squash. It's worse in the morning, and I find eating something helps a bit.

RestorationInsanity · 23/04/2020 19:42

@Clemmie83 haven't had that but maybe try eating watery foods if you can face it and are worried you're not getting enough liquid or feeling dehydrated, grapes, watermelon, salad, ice lollies.

RestorationInsanity · 23/04/2020 19:44

@ChampooPapi I would definitely subscribe to those texts. Better than the today your baby is the size of "insert random object".

Just went for a half hour walk and I'm wiped out. Felt ok today, not much appetite, but ok, but I get so exhausted and out of breath just walking and I'm used to doing loads of exercise. Was planning to go for a tentative run tomorrow (been two nervous since I found out) but I'm not sure I've got it in me!

CSR4 · 23/04/2020 20:02

Hi everyone. I’m also due end Nov - I’ve had a very early miscarriage previously (over a year ago now) and I am now 9 weeks pregnant today - had a scan at just over 7 weeks and saw a little heartbeat! I can’t help but feel anxious by how good I’ve felt...if that makes sense! I am trying to be grateful and don’t get me wrong I have moments when I’ve felt pretty bad but sometimes the lack of symptoms makes me anxious! Just keep reminding myself that I’ve seen the ‘baby’ already and all seemed well then ... but 12 weeks scan can’t come quick enough! I wonder if anyone else has felt like this?!

Jasminex1 · 23/04/2020 20:07

@clemmie83 I just saw your posts earlier today about not having your booking appt yet. I hope you don't mind me asking but have you spoken to anyone yet, gp or midwife? I'm not quite as far along but I feel like I want to speak to someone about little things like what vitamins to take etc but I just keep being told that the midwife will call me in a few weeks x

peachypetite · 23/04/2020 20:11

@Jasminex1 the nhs website is full of useful info. www.nhs.uk/conditions/pregnancy-and-baby/vitamins-minerals-supplements-pregnant/

RestorationInsanity · 23/04/2020 20:17

@CSR4 congratulations and sorry to hear about your previous loss. Actually I'm a bit similar, I haven't actually been sick, my nausea is manageable if I eat much smaller amounts more often, and the only thing I've found I can't eat so far is tinned tuna which just tasted like licking a tin can! My boobs are very sore and I have other low level symptoms (napping in the day being one!), but certainly not the horrendous experience some people have. I think there is no normal, I woke up the other morning panicking as I didn't feel sick and my boobs seemed less painful. But symptoms returned the following day, and some new ones! I know nothing really reassures, but you're not alone.

Clemmie83 · 23/04/2020 20:30

@Jasminex1 Yeah I'm in the same situation, I called my doctor initially but was told given the current situation just to self refer to the midwife so I haven't actually spoken to anyone yet...There's lots of info online though so I feel fairly clued up!

Jasminex1 · 24/04/2020 08:15

@Clemmie83 I don't seem to be able to self refer in my area, the doctors did fill out the form with me on the phone and said it would be sent on so I guess they do it for you here.

@peachypetite I'm worried that I'm not taking the right vitamins, I started folic acid as soon as I found out I was pregnant but not sure what else to take! Vitamin D seems to be another one but says only to take 10mcg, and I can only find higher dosages to buy online!

Clemmie83 · 24/04/2020 08:19

@Jasminex1 You're best off just taking a pregnancy multivitamin, there's lots of different ones on the market, at least then you know you're getting everything you need! Smile

Jasminex1 · 24/04/2020 08:33

@Clemmie83 that's a good idea, do you have any recommendations?😊

Clemmie83 · 24/04/2020 08:38

@Jasminex1 I've been taking Pregnacare plus and buying them on Amazon.

Jasminex1 · 24/04/2020 08:39

@Clemmie83 thank you!x

ChampooPapi · 24/04/2020 08:42

@Jasminex1 pregnacare can sometimes not agree with everyone so another good alternative is this

OP posts:
ChampooPapi · 24/04/2020 08:45

And you get 120 capsules for that price 👍

It's the best and most affordable natural alternative to pregnacare which doesn't make me feel sick
