Hey all, just got my bfp which puts me on course for a Christmas baby! According to my calendar it will be around 27th Dec but we'll get a better idea once we get the 12 week scan. I've already got a handsome 2 year old boy. ♥️Anyone else due à Christmas baby or fancy some pregnancy chat?

@Katbaby my tests have arrived .. number 4 and it told me I was pregnant haha.. I did it straight away even though I didn't need a wee 😂 the pregnant line came straight away nice and strong!! There wasn't even enough to get the control line to be strong but yay.. pregnant line is still thick and bright pink 🥳
Do I stop testing now 😂

@McClue I filled in the self referral when I was 5+4 and then got a text message a week later.

They are still seeing people face to face but are running reduced clinics so they can clean in between each patient. My appointment is 2 weeks on Thursday when I will be 9+5.

McClue · 27/04/2020 17:34

@YahBasic ah that’s really helpful to know thank you. Maybe I’m just too early for them as well, hopefully this week I’ll hear back!

Rnic1x · 27/04/2020 17:35

Hope everyone's had a good day. I seemed to have bypassed the nausea full on today but I have cramps, haven't really had them up to now seem to be lowish down and like mild period pains Sad worrying myself that something is wrong although I know it's totally normal... I just cant help it Confused x

Keepingcomfy · 27/04/2020 18:00

@smiling89 Thanks, that's really helpful! I've already had my bloods taken (last Wed), so I'm going to anticipate it being an over the phone appointment. I'm making my peace with the fact that there will be lots of things that don't happen as they should because of lockdown, etc.

I'm not telling my mum and dad until my mw appointment so just desperate on the next week passing!

notalwaysalondoner · 27/04/2020 18:13

I self referred to a London hospital today and got my booking appointment the same afternoon! 23 May!

Only issue is we’re at my parents 3 hours away and not sure if we’ll still be here. My GP says I can temporarily register with a local GP and they will be able to refer me to a local midwife (this county doesn’t do self referrals annoyingly, would be way easier) - so hard to know without knowing how long lockdown will last and how difficult/ disruptive it will be to switch midwife units later on... what would you guys do? Make the journey or go local?

notalwaysalondoner · 27/04/2020 18:14

Also the letter says nothing about partners joining either way - would be nice to have clarity. I know they don’t normally join but if DH has driven me 3 hours to be there...

Rnic1x · 27/04/2020 18:16

@notalwaysalondoner if I was you I'd temp go to another go and see what they say, it saves driving so long and they'll have all your records online anyway, I'm sure all midwife's will be the same they prob won't even know your not from the area x

notalwaysalondoner · 27/04/2020 18:19

Just phoned the local birth centre and they said I could self refer nearer the time if I need to - glad I went old school and picked up the phone!

Katbaby · 27/04/2020 18:38

Haa @djmbaker I would say yes stop testing but id be a hypocrite since I still have 2 left that I plan on doing 🤣🤣.
I would also be tempted to go local @notalwaysalondoner it's a long way to drive especially since DH probably won't be able to go with you.
@Rnic1x it's too easy to stress isnt it, we just have to trust our bodies know what they are doing 🤞🤞

Rnic1x · 27/04/2020 18:45

@katbaby yeah it really is, I'm trying to not think of the worst but it's hard! The cramps aren't even really bad just noticeable so I feel them hopefully it's just growing, how you feeling today? Boobs any bigger? X

leannewithadash · 27/04/2020 18:45

@djmbaker it's so difficult isn't it? Hopefully you'll get the home salon up and running and you'll be able to get some normality before the baby is here.

I'm a letting agent and spend 50% of my time on peoples homes conducting valuations etc. I'm hoping to be able to pass that on to a colleague and just be office based.

Hope everyone's had a nice day. I've been out walking in the woods and fields with my old Bassett hound Smile

What is everyone else doing to pass the time with these long days x

leannewithadash · 27/04/2020 18:53

@Keepingcomfy I'm exactly the same as you. 7 weeks tomorrow only symptom is sore boobs and last Thursday I felt sick all afternoon. So strange 😬

Katbaby · 27/04/2020 18:53

@Rnic1x it's just everything making room down there, I've had odd cramps and pulling sensations since the start, but I know what you mean you overthink everything don't you I have nothing but time to think about it too.

Yeah I'm okay just feeling like a hungover feeling, bit queasy and soo soo tired. Hmm boobs haven't really changed but I had a couple of shooting pain sensations down them this morning so it could maybe be starting. Nice to have a day off the nausea I bet?!

Keepingcomfy · 27/04/2020 18:58

@leannewithadash Aw so we're at the same stage! That's so cool 😊 I feel very tired, but I can't remember if I was tired anyway. We found out on 17th and it's like I can't remember anything from before then 🤣

Rnic1x · 27/04/2020 19:01

@Katbaby yes it really is, I don't know if it's anything to do with the ginger nuts I ate the minute I got up, but I'll be doing that again tomorrow. I'm shattered I can't wait to get into bed tonight I hope I sleep better x

binnsy1985 · 27/04/2020 19:16

I'm going to be 7 week tomorrow. I feel so heavy today and suffering really bad cramps. Is this normal?

penguin423 · 27/04/2020 19:28

Went to bed to read after work this afternoon because I felt quite tired...felt awful and nauseous after 5 minutes at around 4.15 so thought I would close my eyes for a little while and then got woken up nearly 7.....oops! Sleeping will not be fun tonight!!!

Katbaby · 27/04/2020 19:49

@Rnic1x I've been nibbling on ginger nuts when I've had a wave of nausea and they are good!

Hope you are feeling less crampy and shattered tomorrow x

Emah25 · 27/04/2020 20:13

Hi @Rnic1x thank you! My two are 5 and 3.

Is it your first baby? Oh, I hope things will settle for you! I don't think it helps that we are all in lockdown! Xx

mrshxoxo · 27/04/2020 21:04

I’ve looked in my local area for private scans and the only one place that is doing it is limiting it to 1 person eg the person that is getting scanned. I don’t know whether to book one just to put my mind at rest
