Christmas babies

Hey all, just got my bfp which puts me on course for a Christmas baby! According to my calendar it will be around 27th Dec but we'll get a better idea once we get the 12 week scan. I've already got a handsome 2 year old boy. ♥️Anyone else due à Christmas baby or fancy some pregnancy chat?

Thanks for the welcome! ❤️ It's so nice to be able to hear everyone's news and symptoms, although I know they are making us feel pretty rough at times!! @dixiedo I am experiencing those pains too with movement, I had a really painful one the other day from laughing! Our bodies are doing some amazing work right now!! x

@missoa somebody told me that until somebody tells you otherwise treat the pregnancy as good and normal unless you have any worries you need to talk to your midwife about I'm sure you will be fine. Have you told anybody yet? X

So many new people how exciting. Congratulations to every one of you. Today has been the first day I have slept past 8, Brucey bonus!!

@Katbaby glad your backache is better, bet it's a huge relief.

@missoa coming from one massive worrier, try to relax and enjoy It. I know that's being my new mantra.

@dixiedo yes always getting sharp pains, it's a comfort to know I'm not the only one...making me feel like an old lady.

@rnic1x my symptom was bloating, hot boobs to touch and burping. I took my bfp 11 dpo I was just convinced something was going on. That was over 2 weeks ago now. Longest two weeks of my entire life!!

Hi all, I just got my BFP yesterday after TTC since October. Rough due date is 28 December. It will be our first baby! DH and I live in London and are 30 - but staying with my parents in the Cotswolds during lockdown. It’s a strange time to be pregnant but we didn’t want to stop TTC as we’d been trying for a while. Maybe my mum’s cooking helped!

It makes it harder to keep a secret though - normally I’d have waited to tell people until after the 12 week scan, maybe even my mum, but now I think I’ll have to tell her quite early as we’re all eating together and having rare steaks etc may be a problem! When are you guys planning to tell your families?

@Nic2908 tell me about it feels like this will be the longest 9 months of my life. I found out on 14th and it feels like 6 months ago.

@notalwaysalondoner congratulations lovely, it's my first baby too. How exciting a little Christmas Baba. I'm waiting until 12 weeks for everybody but I'm only in lockdown with my partner. Maybe you should mention it if your having steak etc, if you stop eating things you can't have will they twig? Do you drink much at home? If you do they might catch on with that too x

@Nic2908 I know it is a relief, I've ordered a pregnancy pillow on amazon this morning, hoping I will learn to sleep on my side and also help with back pain, I've still been sleeping on my stomach I cant help it.

Don't feeeeeel pregnant today 😞 I know that's stupid though haha. Just want constant reassurance all the time. If I don't get sent for a scan from midwife Im gonna book my private one for around 17th May I think

Didn’t have any real symptoms except I wasn’t grumpy with DH a week before AF like I normally am and instead of my boobs hurting before AF they maybe felt a bit fuller. Nothing much though. Then on about 16dpo I got brown discharge and was really upset that AF was starting, but then it stopped. I possibly am a bit more sleepy in the evenings and also a bit moodier in the mornings, but nothing much. So happy to have found this group!

What do I need to do except call my doctors on Monday? Not sure how prenatal care will work if I’m not at my normal home address for the next month or two... hopefully they’ll have a solution!

@Katbaby can you even get private scans anymore with lockdown as they are non essential treatment? Might look into it if so!

@notalwaysalondoner hi and welcome! I couldn't bear to keep it from my mum and I don't live with her! Haha don't know how you will manage. Congrats on your December baby😊

@notalwaysalondoner yes our local window to the womb are still doing usual services but just not 4d and not just for gender

They are only doing scans for reassurance and medical purposes

@katbaby I wish we had a window to the womb near me the nearest one is 2 hours away. We will be going there for our early gender scan (if we are allowed) or I have been in touch with a place called lollipop they have told me they are accepting early gender scans but you must have a reassurance scan too, which I am happy to pay for. It's still 2 hours away though... I live an hour away from the motorway so anywhere feels longer! I'm so excited to have my first scan, just hope my partner can come too. Does anybody know of you can video the heartbeat etc if partners can't come in? X

Oh that's so far @Rnic1x where about do you live? Ours is literally 10 minutes up the road, right next to where I'm having my midwife appt actually as my local gp surgery is currently closed so having to go into the town centre instead to their sister surgery

@katbaby I'm from Cumbria, so back of beyond. My Dr is 5 mins away but my midwife appointments are all at the hospital for now and that's round the corner from me. Nearest place for me to get any other sort of scan is Lancaster an hour away but there not offering them atm so Manchester it is! X

I am due 13th of December and have booked a private scan next Wednesday. Partners are allowed yes :). I did have an early scan at 6+3 as I wasn’t sure of my dates but my Husband wasn’t allowed into that one. He drove and waited outside in case it was bad news but all ok. It’s really nerve wracking but the early scan did really help me and they found a heartbeat which was lovely. I didn’t actually ask to film it as I was so overwhelmed but if you don’t ask you don’t get!

@mrsvparker aww great thanks. I'm having a scan 6+5 so hopefully find a heartbeat there. Was yours an internal scan?x

Need somewhere to have a vent this morning! I have felt awful since about Tues/Weds - constant nausea all day and a 24/7 hangover type feeling.

DH has basically used it as an excuse for him to do fuck all around the house. I’ve just spent two hours doing all the washing, tidying the kitchen, putting clothes away - our recycling wasn’t collected this week and it is still on the verge even though he said he brought it in!

He’s literally lying in bed going “oh i was about to come and help you, no need to kick off”.

Permission to actually kill him please?

I think it’s actually really upset me to get confirmation that I do have to force him into tidying and cleaning, and without that he is a lazy fuck.

Morning ladies, I can so relate with the lack of sleep. I struggle to get to sleep and then seem to wake at silly hours. I feel so drained today! Thank god for annual leave! Anyone else started with strange dreams yet? I didn’t have them until second trimester last time but I’ve definitely had a few over the past couple of nights! 🙈

@yahbasic oh I feel like I have your dh living with me. My partner is still in bed? He's off work atm and I am working from home all day everyday and still I have to do housework because in his eyes "it's clean it dosent need doing again" if I want it doing I do it myself. Lockdown has made him lazy. He says because he does the gardens that's ok? Think he must think a magic washing fairy does the washing every other day too! I feel your pain! My partner asked me yesterday what I wanted him to do? Emmmm... EVERYTHING FEEL FREE! I wish they just did things off their own back! You're not alone xx

Good advice @Nic2908 and @Rnic1x ! Yes will relax into it - will be so lovely to do that actually! I've already begun making lists of names and thinking how we'd redecorate the bedroom which would become the nursery. Not told anyone yet @Rnic1x ! Just my husband and I know for now but would really like to tell my two sisters who both have kids

Have you told anyone yet @Rnic1x ? If so when did you do it?

I've got really sore boobs.. headache and nausea still! Oh and don't forget the wind haha.. sorry TMI..Anyone else struggle to eat breakfast?? I know I'm hungry but the thought of food makes me want to gag. I'm managing toast but only by forcing it down.

@missoa no I haven't told anybody apart from partner. I'm so close to my mam sisters and Nana but I'm waiting until 12 weeks to surprise them all. It's pretty easy to hide it in lockdown but the amount of people I'm saying yes to when they say let's have a drink when this is over is unreal they'll all have a shock haha. When are you telling people? I have my name's already, if it's a girl I'm not redecorating I only did it 18 months ago and I love the paper it would be so cute for a girl X

@Rnic1x no it wasn’t an internal scan as they were able to find the baby. It’s literal tiny on the scan picture. Apparently the size of your finger nail! Blew my mind. If you aren’t exactly sure if your dates and we’re early they may have to do an internal but 6 weeks ish you are time 👍

@mrsvparker aww how cute can you post picture? I'm pretty positive on my dates they said I need a scan anyway as I've only had 2 periods since January x

Hey @djmbaker I keep grabbing at my boobs but still no soreness at all. I don't know why that worries me so much Ive read loads of people's stories who didnt get sore boobs til late or didn't get sore boobs at all 😩. Actually worrying at the lack of symptoms. Just have gentle pulling sensation in pelvic area and that's about it.

Oh dear @YahBasic get him told he's gonna have to pull his finger out! That's not on!
