Hey all, just got my bfp which puts me on course for a Christmas baby! According to my calendar it will be around 27th Dec but we'll get a better idea once we get the 12 week scan. I've already got a handsome 2 year old boy. ♥️Anyone else due à Christmas baby or fancy some pregnancy chat?

@Natt99 haha I love that chart. Well according to that I'm having a girl... how freaky would it be if it was true??? 🙈

Katbaby · 24/04/2020 11:06

@djmbaker thanks back is still sore but not as bad as yesterday, but think the trapped wind was making it worse last night. Got up and done a bit of cleaning this morning wanting to keep moving as it seems to help. How are you feeling?

@Natt99 I love that chart would be mad if it were true, we would be having a boy!

Trying to keep positive, hubby is getting really excited and I am letting myself get excited too because why not! 😁

I also love this thread like a little support group!

Natt99 · 24/04/2020 11:08

@djmbaker 50/50 chance 🤣😂 I like how if you're 30 you only have 4 chances of having a boy 🤔 maybe the ladies who already have kids could do it and let us know if it's true x

Tbug · 24/04/2020 11:20

I have a boy and girl name 😍 not going to find out though, fancy a surprise! And my best friend/midwife said people push better when they don't know 🙈

djmbaker · 24/04/2020 11:30

@Katbaby I'm ok, I felt good yesterday.. today I feel nauseous and lightheaded again so I'm just being lazy 🤷🏻‍♀️
My tummy is really bubbly today as well.

DontStandSoClose · 24/04/2020 11:49

@Natt99 your chart guessed one of my children's sex correct, so yeah 50/50 😆! I've never found out the sex with my 2 children, I think it's nicer to have a surprise really, even if you are on another planet when you find out at the birth!

We only had a girls name the first time and luckily it was a girl, second child we didn't have any names, it took us 4 days to agree on something!! My husband is quite picky for ridiculous reasons. We agree that we only use traditional names but it's still hard work. No doubt we'll have a no name for a few days again 😆.

Katbaby · 24/04/2020 11:51

@Tbug we think we have a boy and a girls name, couple of options for a girl but pretty set for a boy, but I will have to find out! So impatient I'll have to know.

@djmbaker the only light headedness I seem to be getting is when I stand up from being seated a bit too quickly. I felt shattered yesterday and had a lazy day so I don't blame you! Baby says rest so rest 😊

Keepingcomfy · 24/04/2020 12:18

@djmbaker After feeling so awful yesterday, today I feel absolutely fine! It's so bizarre … is this what it's like? Obviously, I don't want to feel ill, but in some way at least it validates the pregnancy. I've got this silly paranoia that it's all in my head …

I'm sure these are normal responses, especially for a new mum

december2020 · 24/04/2020 12:54

My husband realised today my boobs have grown 😂😂 does anyone have any good recommendations of where to get good bras when you can't get fitted in a store at the moment? I only have one bra left that fits me well and gives enough support without being uncomfortable. Better get some anti stretch mark stuff pronto!

Love the chart, by that we'd be having a boy, would love that!

@Bethan91 feeling quite good at the moment. A bit tired here and there but no nausea. I'm waiting for it to hit! I'm the same! Working from home so it's been quite nice to hide away at home without having to make up excuses not to go to the pub after work or the yawning 😂 though wondering what shock the company may have from when we started working from home all slim and coming back with a potential bump 😂 xx

Keepingcomfy · 24/04/2020 13:03

Does anyone else just feel so scared? My partner and I are absolutely over the moon and really excited. But there's a big part of me that feels so anxious, and convinced something is going to go wrong.

I don't want to bring the tone of the thread down at all, and like I say I am delighted. We haven't told anyone yet though, so I can't voice these worries to anyone and I know he doesn't like it if I mention anything sad.

I just want to wake up and the first 12 weeks to be over!

Nic2908 · 24/04/2020 13:04

@Natt99 love that chart, says a girl... although I'm 100% convinced that as my husband is one of 7 boys I'm going to have a boy.

GeeHO98 · 24/04/2020 13:26

Has anyone else had dizzyness? Last night I got really dizzy about 5 times and had to grab something to steady myself. Been eating and drinking regularly and been up and about in the day. Wondering if anyone knows anything to help calm it down? I had it on and off again in the week before I found out till now

Rnic1x · 24/04/2020 13:33

@december2020 I'm wearing sports bras atm they are the comfest I've found.

@Keepingcomfy yes me :( as much as I am so happy I always think the worst of Everything so I'm worrying lots, I feel until somebody tells me otherwise or until I can tell otherwise I'm trying to convince myself everything is fine xx

princessgingy · 24/04/2020 13:36

@Keepingcomfy that’s how I’m feeling today. Full of anxiety that I will have a miscarriage. I have no reason to suspect I will it’s just it’s my first pregnancy so I don’t know how equipped my body is to pregnancy. I’m 29, a healthy weight and don’t smoke and rarely drink. So I’m trying to keep reassuring myself. I’ve read that whilst 12 weeks gets you out of the danger zone, even after 6 your risk reduce drastically so I just need to get through another week. Why is time going so slowly?

Is anyone in an area where you go direct to maternity to book your booking appointment? I was given the direct line and contacted them on Tuesday. No letter with booking appointment yet. I know it’s really soon after but I’m impatient. How long after phoning did you get an appointment through?

Chutney92 · 24/04/2020 13:39

Congratulations to all the new lovely ladies on this thread! Just out of curiosity, has anyone been contacted by a midwife yet for an appointment? I am getting impatient but I know it's early.

Also, anyone with stomach and uterus cramps? They make me worry as it's my first baby and I have no idea what this means! Hmm

Jasminex1 · 24/04/2020 13:40

@Keepingcomfy yes the exact same too! Just feel like in want the next few weeks to be over so that I can have a scan and check that everything is ok. I feel like I might be doing something wrong and also had never really heard of a missed miscarriage before Mumsnet so feeling suuuuper anxious that something might happen and I won't even know!

Jasminex1 · 24/04/2020 13:42

@Chutney92 it's my first too and having awful cramps, so you're not alone! Its like a dull ache/period pain most of the time but I've been woken up in the night a few times just by the sudden intensity of it!

Rnic1x · 24/04/2020 13:43

@princessgingy I was told to self refer online though maternity unit I had a call from midwife 3 days later and booked in with 3 weeks. My first scan and appointment is 5th may x

Katbaby · 24/04/2020 13:44

@princessgingy @keepingcomfy @Rnic1x I'm exactly the same I have a lot of worries whenever I feel a twinge or anything, I'm 27 first baby healthy weight been taking prenatal vits since early Dec and now straight onto pregnancy vits, don't smoke drink occasional but haven't had a drink since before I found out.

I guess we can only look after it as best we can, and try and stay positive and rational

Katbaby · 24/04/2020 13:45

I rang my gp and they booked me straight in with midwife at the doctors surgery but it's not until 7th May

december2020 · 24/04/2020 13:47

@Rnic1x yes that's all I'm wearing now as well! Just need more and I don't think they stock the ones I have anymore! I find it so hard to find the right size, especially if my boobs are now growing even more 😆

Rnic1x · 24/04/2020 13:51

@Katbaby yes that's exactly like me I started taking them in December before I had my coil taken out and take pregnancy vitamins every day. I'm 26 and very healthy. I haven't had a drink since Christmas day so I hope I'll be fine. It's just a worry isn't it.

@december2020 I have a few from Primark which are really comfy I bought them years ago but never wore them until recently. I have a few Calvin Klein ones too but I don't feel like they give any support 😔 I'm sticking to Nike or Adidas they seem to be the best. I didn't think they'd grow this much so quick I've gone up a bra size already in 5 weeks xx

Katbaby · 24/04/2020 14:04

Oh wow no drinks since Christmas day that's impressive @Rnic1x

We went to Thailand straight after Christmas so although we were technically trying we were also drinking every day. I've been enjoying casual drinks during lockdown but I had a feeling about a week before my bfp that I was gonna be pregnant so didnt have anymore.

What are people doing to keep fit? I'm really nervous to do too much

showmethegin · 24/04/2020 14:08

Hi all, I mentioned to someone else earlier on the thread that I've been doing daily guided meditation on the headspace app, they have a specific pregnancy course and it has really helped me so far with managing my anxiety. Its helped to keep me positive and relaxed (as relaxed as it is possible to be Grin).

Maybe worth a try for those feeling a bit worried Thanks

Rnic1x · 24/04/2020 14:12

@Katbaby it's been hard but I said until I was pregnant I was off the drink, its harder now my partner's having a few cans in the garden and I'm sat there with my decaf tea haha. Tbh I'm not I feel lockdown is making me an absolute pig, all I want to do is eat... Anybody else finding they are eating loads during lockdown? I go for a daily walk every day but I'm working 10 hours everyday too so finding it hard to do work outs when I'm so tried after work xx
