Hey all, just got my bfp which puts me on course for a Christmas baby! According to my calendar it will be around 27th Dec but we'll get a better idea once we get the 12 week scan. I've already got a handsome 2 year old boy. ♥️Anyone else due à Christmas baby or fancy some pregnancy chat?

My husband is the same! Wanting to keep it secret until we're a bit later down the line and it's "safer".
Omg me too with the nursery!! I'm tempted to start a proper Pinterest board to really kick it into overdrive 😂 what have you been thinking?

Tbug · 24/04/2020 08:28

I did one more test just cos and look how dark the pregnant line is 😍😍😍😍🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰

It's quite weird it being our 3rd, there isn't actually anything we need, at all! We have a boy and a girl already and I kept everything, we didn't find out the sex either time too so lots of our newborn clothes are gender neutral. I think the only things we are going to buy is a next to me and a new chair to sit in.

I didn't buy anything at all until pretty far on the first time, you don't actually need that much before the baby arrives. I upset my mother in law at about 12 weeks when I told her to stop buying things, I obviously didn't mean to upset her but I felt like she was getting out of hand. I was a bit funny about getting everything before you have a baby to use it. It was fun wandering mothercare and John Lewis baby section deciding what to buy, I remember that excitement well!

I'm trying to have a think what our most useful/useless baby items were to help first timers... I'll have a think. You can spend so much money on unnecessary things that are barely used!

@Tbug me too! This is last Friday when we found out compared to today 🥰

Well, we live in a tiny cottage on loads of land.. the plan was to always extend.. build a new house etc but we haven't got round to that. So the nursery will be in what is currently our walk in wardrobe (sounds posh.. it really isn't) so we are going to have to literally transform this tiny room at some point 🙈 I've been looking on Pinterest for ideas on tiny nurseries 😂 i has a builder round last year when I was pregnant to look and he said it would be an easy job so I'm holding onto that 😂😂

djmbaker · 24/04/2020 08:42

@Jasminex1 @Tbug yay congratulations!! They are really strong lines 🥳

Lori86 · 24/04/2020 08:49

@Tbug I did another this morning too but now I'm promising myself no more. Here's mine this morning vs 4 days ago. I'm so happy because they never got this dark in my lady pregnancy.

My testing has been unnecessary but its so addictive - the last one that did the weeks was yesterday. Tempted to do my last frer 🤞 haha. The digital weeks one came in a pack of 2 so I might do it in a week to see it go up to 3+.

I'm not gonna buy anything yet as tempting as it is- we only decorated our spare room end of last year just to a neutral gray style as it was the last room of the house to decorate so it's lovely and gray with a dark laminate floor so it is just ready to fill with lovely baby furniture and I want a rocking feeding chair as well

@jasminex1 that's such good progression too 😊

Bethan91 · 24/04/2020 08:58

@december2020 aww how lovely isn't it exciting. I'm feeling fine up to now thank you how are you? Tbh I'm not finding it too bad, I work from home anyway so that sense is no different for me. It's easier to hide too, I'm not having to make up reasons not to go out etc. How are you finding it? X

Bethan91 · 24/04/2020 09:01

@djmbaker aww I'm sure they will understand. My hairdresser announced she's 12 weeks yesterday, I'm good friends with her so I felt it was only right to congratulate her on how happy I was but also tell her I had no idea what I was going to do from October when she leaves... I don't trust anybody else to do my hair and she won't be back before I have baby... I'm blonde now always have been I might have to go a little darker, I don't want bad roots on my baby pictures over Christmas haha! Xx

Bethan91 · 24/04/2020 09:03

@DontStandSoClose oh yes please let me know. This is my first so I'm eager to know what I really don't need to buy and won't use. Congratulations x

Jasminex1 · 24/04/2020 09:31

@Lori86 thank you! I'm not going to do any more now, this mornings will be 3 in total but the darker line has made me feel a little more at ease ☺️

djmbaker · 24/04/2020 09:41

@Katbaby look at all those!! It's funny how many we do isn't it. I've got one more digi test which I'll save for next week.

How's your back?? I've heard those cushions are amazing!! Someone I follow on insta has said they are the best, even her partner bought one 😂

I'm cautious to buy anything like you say, got to be patient I think. I feel really nauseous today so I'm back in bed 🤢 my father in law has just showed up so I'm hiding away so he doesn't see me 🤦🏻‍♀️ he said to me last week before I even did a test "I think your pregnant" 🙈🙈

djmbaker · 24/04/2020 09:43

@Bethan91 ohh I know my clients will understand, they just won't like the fact I'm due Christmas week 🙈🙈 I've known my clients for 12 years so I hope, they will all stick around. I'm having a salon built at home so that will hopefully enable me to return to work quicker but more gradual.
Haha you can't have roots on your new baby pics!! She might have to do you a quick root retouch beforehand xx

Bethan91 · 24/04/2020 09:53

@djmbaker I've just been speaking to her and she said she'll be back after 2 weeks so hopefully she can get it done, if not she'll come to my house and do it, as long as I'm not in full blown labour I'll cope with that haha xx

Nic2908 · 24/04/2020 10:11

I had the worst sleep ever last night. Was hotter than the sun, sweating, burping, sore boobs, pain in stomach. Literally I'm so grumpy today as so tired. Just grateful for symptoms I guess

I've been looking at things online but not bought anything. Trying to refrain from buying.

Who is going to find out what they are having??

Katiek1986 · 24/04/2020 10:19

Just found out yesterday I'm pregnant - first baby. Due date seems to be between 19-21st December! Freaked out and ran to A and E because of pain and sickness. I had no idea the pain could be so bad but they did a scan and hey presto there was the little bean. We weren't really trying just letting nature run its course as Im 33! Delighted! The sickness is kicking my ass - anyone have any pointers? I'm completely clueless Confused and feeling very sore. Even just reading a few posts here has made me feel better xx

Rnic1x · 24/04/2020 10:25

@Nic2908 I'm going to find out at 15 weeks I'm far to inpatient to wait x

djmbaker · 24/04/2020 10:37

@Nic2908 I was SO hot last night. I'm always cold but last night I was baking.. 😓
We are going to find out what we are having, we only want one child so we are going to do everything you possibly can. 🙏🏻
Anyone else going to find out?

djmbaker · 24/04/2020 10:38

@Katiek1986 heyyy congratulations!! We are the same age. I'm 33.. this is my first. It's crazy how your body reacts isn't it?? We all have had slightly different symptoms on here.
I've not been sick just nauseous and lightheaded mainly. Have you been sick?? Poor you if so!! That's got to be miserable 🤢

showmethegin · 24/04/2020 10:42

@lori86

Feel really excited but massively nervous because of what happened last time. I feel different this time though, hard to explain; more positive? I've been using the pregnancy meditations on headspace and they have definitely helped to keep me calm. It took us 18 months to catch first time, was definitely a surprise to catch again so quickly!

I had a laparoscopy at the end of January and they didn't find anything but I feel like they must have done something as I've caught both months after! Hope this is the one that sticks.

Katiek1986 · 24/04/2020 10:45

@djmbaker Eeek! Scary but exciting too! The past week Ive had intense cramping. This morning and yesterday I did throw up but my tummy was empty. Owe! Ginger and lemon tea helped a bit. Hopefully it's just for the first trimester.. I also couldnt sleep but I'd say thats just because I only found out. Im about 5 1/2 weeks! How far are you? I'll be on here all the time asking questions..ive no idea what Im doing BlushSmile

Natt99 · 24/04/2020 10:47

Definitely going to find out! Struggling to find girls names I like anyway so will be good to get more notice. Just for fun I found these charts where it predicts what you're having based on your age and month conceived 🤣 according to this it's a boy!

djmbaker · 24/04/2020 10:57

@Katiek1986 yeh I'm about the same 5 and a half weeks. My midwife is unsure as I have quite irregular periods so she thinks it's 5 and a half.. I'll find out more at my early scan in 3 weeks I guess. This group has been a blessing for me in just this first week so I am sure it will be for you, it's amazing to be able to compare and chat about how we are all feeling!

@showmethegin I can 💯 relate to you there, I had a miscarriage last year and I would definitely say I am feeling so much more positive about this one. I can't explain it really but I feel like it's meant to be?? That probably sounds ridiculous!
My last pregnancy I was constantly thinking negative, I remember reading about MMC's and it just never left my head, so it was almost expected when they said that's what I'd had.
