Hey all, just got my bfp which puts me on course for a Christmas baby! According to my calendar it will be around 27th Dec but we'll get a better idea once we get the 12 week scan. I've already got a handsome 2 year old boy. ♥️Anyone else due à Christmas baby or fancy some pregnancy chat?

Ok so I rang EPU the woman was lovely. Said it might be the constipation and straining that has caused it and to go to the chemist to get something. And to keep and eye if any more loss and pain. But she said that it could just be normal. Fx.

Nic2908 · 23/04/2020 12:46

Thanks guys. Husbands and work and no one else knows family wise.

Katbaby · 23/04/2020 12:58

I'm keeping everything crossed for you @Nic2908 🤞🤞🤞

Welcome @HollySmith29 can't give any guidance yet as behind you! I'm waiting on boobs to start yet, got slightly tender nipples but nothing major bar that!

Wearenotyourkind · 23/04/2020 13:00

Hope you're okay @Nic2908 I got my BFP on Monday and am 4+4. I've had a little bit of spotting/blood streaked mucus most days since then. I just had some earlier after having a bowel movement - apologies for TMI, ladies. As others have said, it can be normal for early on. This is my first pregnancy too, so I'm relying on the internet to tell what is and isn't normal! Sending love 💗

djmbaker · 23/04/2020 13:24

@Nic2908 hope your ok, like everyone says.. spotting is totally normal. Try and stay calm. 💕

I've rescheduled my scan to the 17th May so I should be almost 9 weeks then.
Feels like it's years away!!!

Welcome @HollySmith29!! I can't believe how many of us are here all due around Christmas. It's going to be a busy festive period for us!!

princessgingy · 23/04/2020 13:35

Reading this is making me want to do a digi rest because I’m still fretting about the lack of symptoms (I should be 5 weeks today) but I keep telling myself I did 5 tests and all were positive and became less faint each time. Monday’s line was nearly as dark as the control line. Do you all think I’m right that I don’t need to do another?
How is everyone feeling today? What do you have planned? I’ve had a lazy morning but I need to clean the bathroom soon and get some computer jobs done.
Like others I’m sort of glad for lockdown atm. I’m rubbish at keeping secrets and think I’d end up letting something slip at work. I’m really worried about it carrying on long term though. I can’t imagine not having my parents bond with their first grandchild.

Katbaby · 23/04/2020 13:43

Hey @princessgingy I'm feeling okay just rather tired today. Don't worry about symptoms they say some don't kick in until 6-9 weeks. My sister in law didn't know she was pregnant with her 1st until she was 16 weeks 😳 and she's had 5 healthy babies.

On a side note, what's peoples opinions on sitting in the sun? We are having some beautiful days but I'm nervous to be in the garden too long

I was thinking of booking a scan for the 17th too! @djmbaker I reckon I'd be 8ish weeks then

princessgingy · 23/04/2020 14:00

@Katbaby I think it should be fine as long as you don’t overheat but it’s not that hot yet. The nhs website mentions taking vitamin d if it’s winter and you’re pregnant because of not getting enough which says to me that a bit of sun is actually encouraged. I’m pretty pale and burn easily so I’m just sitting out for a little bit at a time.

Katbaby · 23/04/2020 14:09

@princessgingy ahh that's good then. Its pretty warm in my back garden but it's gone a bit hazy now so not full sun which is better I think, bit of me time and a book while I try to forget how much I need a pee as amazon says my sticks will be here in the next hour and a half haha so I'm holding it 😂

Katbaby · 23/04/2020 14:38

As expected, I guess I am anywhere from 4+4 to 5, will do one in about 4 days as they were a 2 pack and it says on the leaflet that over 5 weeks you should get 3+

All dependant on urine strength etc

Christmas babies
Chutney92 · 23/04/2020 14:48

Hi ladies! Not 100% sure if I am having a Christmas baby but the little peanut will definitely be here in January, as I got my BFP today! Still wanted to join and support if that's okay Grin Flowers

This is my first pregnancy ever and I am 1-2 weeks along according to Clear Blue's digital test x

ArjaD · 23/04/2020 15:01

@Chutney92 welcome and congratssass! My toddler was born early Jan, so I'll be having the two quite close together in birthdays! Is it your first?

OP posts:
Chutney92 · 23/04/2020 15:05

@ArjaD Thank you and yes, it's my first! I am so nervous, excited and have absolutely no clue what I am doing Blush Grin

Aww, that's nice for them though! I do love winter babies x

princessgingy · 23/04/2020 15:16

@Chutney92 welcome and congrats! I was an early January baby and, weirdly, according to nhs website, this little one is due the same day I was due so mommy and baby are going to have close together birthdays, maybe even the same one 😮 Its my first pregnancy too. I’m feeling a bit anxious at the moment and just desperately waiting to get to my first scan so I know everything is ok.

Chutney92 · 23/04/2020 15:22

@princessgingy Thank you and congratulations to you too!

Haha, awww. January is going to be a super special month for you then Grin That's really sweet! I am so pleased for you and I am on the same boat about being anxious/nervous about the first appointment/baby scan.

Have then given you one yet? I called my GP today and they have to refer me. How far along are you? And have you told anyone yet? Shock

djmbaker · 23/04/2020 15:33

@Katbaby woo! Your similar to me then. Hard to know isn't it when we don't know when we actually ovulated but hey.. it's better than knowing nothing.
My midwife said I'm probably about 6 weeks? She said go with that for now and you'll find out more at your scan.
Can't believe how many there are of us in here now.
I'm bloody glad you know, not being able to speak to friends and family about it is hard work!!! It's all I can think about right now so I need to let it out 😂

princessgingy · 23/04/2020 15:38

@Chutney92 no I haven’t got a date yet. I phoned the GP secretary and they have me a direct line to make my booking appointment. They took my details and said an appointment would be sent in the post so I’m waiting on that atm. We’ve told immediate family, so parents and siblings, because we’re really close. No one else though. I think I’m 5 weeks today. I hope we both get appointments soon.

Hi everyone

I am 35 tomorrow. I left my husband in October after 11 years together. We had been trying for children for a long time but I had all kinds of problems with my periods and I didn't think I could ever have children. I met someone else in November 2019 and after 5 months together on Tuesday this week I've found out I am pregnant. I'm 6 weeks pregnant, last period was 10 march. My partner is very upset and really doesn't want me to go ahead with this pregnancy. He wants me but not a child and me. He already has one son with an ex partner who he is very close to. My heart is broken. I never expected this to be me I always thought I would never be a mum and now I'm pregnant. I have been in touch with an abortion clinic and I have a call back on tuesday. I feel so alone. I can't see my partner due to covid but I'm not sure I even want to see him again. I dont know what to do.

Katbaby · 23/04/2020 16:01

@djmbaker to be honest I'm just glad it said 2-3 rather than 1-2 just must mean my hormones are progressing in the right way as its been nearly a week since my first BFP!

Welcome to the thread @Chutney92 it's a busy one girls!

I honestly am loving this chat I check it so many times in a day 🤣

Katbaby · 23/04/2020 16:07

@binnsy1985 omg thats such a sad story.
Does part of you want to keep your baby?
I don't think it's fair for your partner to make the decision for you. It's such a big decision my heart breaks for you

Chutney92 · 23/04/2020 16:10

@binnay1985 Sorry you are going through this alone but the right partner would not want you to make such a sacrifice!

Babies are a blessing and a sign from the universe that it wants you to be a mom, IMO. Whatever you do, we’ll support you x

djmbaker · 23/04/2020 16:20

@binnsy1985 oh my goodness, my heart aches for you. That is so so sad.
Nobody should ever ask that of someone, especially with your story and someone you care for.
How are you feeling?? Probably a stupid question.
Bless you for coming on here and telling this group.
Like @Chutney92 said, we will all support you.
This group is a blessing for us all! 💕

binnsy1985 · 23/04/2020 16:33

Thank you for responding. I just wanted to tell someone. A part of me really wants this but I feel like I would be very selfish bringing his child in to the world when he doesn't want it. It's a situation I never thought I'd be in.

Keepingcomfy · 23/04/2020 16:42

Hi everyone!

We got the BFP last Friday (17th). Baby is due on 15/12 so I'm just over 6 weeks. I was doing ok with sore breasts and a bit cramping but today has been pretty rubbish. I woke up just feeling generally unwell. Very heavy and headachey, and cold.
This is my first baby and I feel super aware of every little ache or pain that I feel. Having a lazy day and hope to feel a bit better tomorrow

Bethan91 · 23/04/2020 16:58

@binnsy1985 aww bless you, I can't even imagine how your feeling. No man who loves you should ever make you make this decision. Do whatever you want to do, if that means bringing your little miracle into the world alone, I'm sure you will be just fine and give it all the love it ever needs. If a baby is what you've wanted all your life, you need to think about yourself and what to want too xxx
