Hey all, just got my bfp which puts me on course for a Christmas baby! According to my calendar it will be around 27th Dec but we'll get a better idea once we get the 12 week scan. I've already got a handsome 2 year old boy. ♥️Anyone else due à Christmas baby or fancy some pregnancy chat?

Yes had lots of cramping today, I’m 4+2. Very bloated and lots of wind (sorry) it’s normal at this stage but I have been the same, I think we are all in the worry boat at the minute

GeeHO98 · 23/04/2020 00:30

Yes it's normal, I'm 5+3 I get light period like aches on and off every now and then. Pretty sure I had them with my first pregnancy too

Smiling89 · 23/04/2020 03:38

Hi!
Congratulations everyone!
I found out Tuesday Shock - according to the pregnancy calculator I'm due 22nd December. The only thing I've noticed so far is cramps, like bad period cramps - which is why I'm up at 3am. They seem to be worse late evening and during the night, but I've read that's normal. Maybe that I'm less distracted at night and focusing on it more.

Calling the doctors tomorrow!

ArjaD · 23/04/2020 05:51

@Liquoriceallsortscandysticks welcome! I'm 36 too, it's terrifying huh😳 this is my second though. Was 33 when I was pregnant with my first, 34 when I delivered... And was already classed as a mature mum by the hospital then.. So this time I guess I'm geriatric 🙄🙄

Hi all! Got my BFP last night, online due date calendar says 31/12. Am a bit nervous to get too excited after previous MMC - also can't believe it happened first time! Would be DC3 for me, have two DDs aged 4 and 2. Hi everyone!

december2020 · 23/04/2020 06:36

Morning lovely ladies! Just been catching up on this thread!!
Congrats on all the new BFPs!

And what a lovely reaction from your mom @Katbaby 💖

Today I feel quite ok. Woke up at stupid o'clock full of energy and apart from the heavy boobs and occasional twinge, no symptoms. Not sure if I should be happy or worried 🧐! This waiting is awful! I have my early scan in 2 weeks so hopefully some reassurance then.

How is everyone doing?

Bethan91 · 23/04/2020 07:18

So after watching the news it's made me go into complete panic mode... They said social distancing is a must until they get this under control which I get, but also said no vaccination until 2021? I'm starting to think we won't be out of lockdown until then at this rate... I know I have until Christmas to sort baby things but I've just had a check all newborn baby grows sold out on a lot of sites 😓 what if it gets no better 🙈 god I hope this is over soon, the stress is driving me insane..
anybody else constantly overthink and think the worst like me ?xxx

ArjaD · 23/04/2020 07:29

Up since 5.30am with a toddler who had nightmares 😴😴 how are those of you with young kids already holding up? X

@Bethan91 I'm also hating this uncertainty. Not sure whether hubby will be able to be there for the scans or birth etc, maybe it would have been best to wait a bit but I'm not getting younger. I guess we just have to go with the flow and hope for the best, but I hate the not knowing!

Welcome to the new bfps 😊🤞
God I hope we are out of the lockdown soon I don't know how I would be if we were stuck in it til then, surely they can't keep us locked down for close to a year though we would all go insane?!
On a positive note though being off work during lockdown a) helps keep it a secret and b) let's me rest much more when I'm tired.

Guess it's not the same for you with little ones though! I may as well enjoy the child free moments I have left 🤣

Bethan91 · 23/04/2020 08:16

@ArjaD I know it's worrying me so much especially with it being my first. I do know a lot of midwife's which is making it slightly easier. I'm just thinking were going to be like this for months. I honestly didn't think I would get pregnant so soon, we were "trying" but only our first month. I just wish they would tell us roughly an idea when we could start getting back into life... I need a good baby shop 🙈

ArjaD · 23/04/2020 08:17

@Katbaby yeah enjoy it as much as you can because you'll neeeeeever have peace again 😂😂😂 especial going to the toilet hahahaha. My toddler is very much at the stage of pointing out mummy doesn't have a winky 😂😂😂

Bethan91 · 23/04/2020 08:18

@Katbaby I know I just don't think the government think we're getting any better.
I work from home anyway so I'm not feeling much difference in that sense.
I'm exhausted too though, I've been waking up so much during the night, I don't sleep well at the best of times.

Congratulations too you, when are you due? Xx

Katbaby · 23/04/2020 08:19

@Bethan91 I want to go baby shopping already, maybe the lockdown for a little while will help me not to buy anything before the 12 weeks but Id be quite happy for lockdown to end by June 🤞🤞🤞 then baby shop til I drop!

Katbaby · 23/04/2020 08:20

@Bethan91 not sure I think probably around chirstmas eve ish.. I havent had a period since coming off the pill in December so its anyones guess. I've got a week's indicator test coming today to try

@ArjaD omg haha mama doesn't have a winky that's so funny 🤣🤣

djmbaker · 23/04/2020 08:32

I'd happily stay in lockdown until I'm 12 weeks 😂 it's funny when my friends message saying how much they are hating it and I'm now loving it but I can't say why.
Feel quite lucky that the start of my pregnancy is now and all I can do is relax, take time to eat well and try to stay calm.
I'm dreading going back to work!!
I'm trying to avoid looking at anything baby related but it's really difficult.

I've got a digital test that arrived yesterday, so I'm going to try that and see what it says 😍

Katbaby · 23/04/2020 08:41

Ooo @djmbaker let us know what it says on your digi test! Not sure what time mine is getting delivered. How long you holding your pee for before you test?

I agree about the first 12 weeks like, this lockdown means we just have to focus on looking after ourselves but I'm desperate for it to be lifted after the 12 weeks so I can enjoy all the lovely things about being pregnant the shopping the dressing up the bump etc

Nic2908 · 23/04/2020 08:44

Get posting your digital results ladies.

The way that I look at it, they cant keep the nhs focused on coronovirus forever, there are other illnesses sadly that are continuing to take people every day, cancer for example, operations. So even if social distancing stays for a while, they have to go back to running an NHS that is 'hot' sooner rather than later.which hopefully means over the next few months scans and births etc should go back to normal. The obstetric and Gynea council (I think that's what it is called) will not allow mothers to go through this on their own for any longer than what they have too. That's my thoughts anyway?

EmmaDobs92 · 23/04/2020 08:58

@ArjaD haha my eldest boy is going through that at the minute too and he laughs when I said girls don't have willies now he thinks all girls are weird because of it lol!

I took a digi last night 🙈 you would think when you get that first test you would be settled but no lol I have moved up to 2-3 weeks thankfully 😅
How are all you ladies today? More homeschooling today ... this is where wine definitely came in handy in the evenings because it usually ends in a huffy 5 year old an my pulling my hair out 😂 x

djmbaker · 23/04/2020 09:11

@Katbaby well I got up at 6am for a huge wee so I've been holding it in since 😂 as I forgot to do it and I also don't want to do it when my OH is home as he will shout that I've bought more tests haha.

I'll go in a bit I think and try. Not sure why but I feel nervous??
I agree, I'm up for lockdown to be lifted after 12 weeks.. I want to go shopping too but I also want a baby shower, does anyone else? I've been to that many I want my own 😂

Natt99 · 23/04/2020 09:13

Welcome to newbies! Looking forward to seeing the digi tests too 😊 the lockdown definitely has it perks if you're lucky enough to WFH, especially if you get morning sickness. Agree with @Nic2908 something's got to give eventually. I think everything will re open in a few months but just with more precautions like distance between people, no touching, constant hand washing etc supermarkets will stay as they are now with the new measures. How weird would it be though if it continued for another year and our babies only saw us and our partners 😬 I was thinking of that film room!! Don't think it will get to that point but I am an optimist 😂

Katbaby · 23/04/2020 09:14

I hope so @Nic2908 I've read 2 very conflicting articles today! One said 'greece expecting to welcome brits by July' and the other says 'social distancing expected to last unt the end of the year' 😩😩

They might as well just release one universal one that says 'NO ONE KNOWS WHAT IS GOING ON'

at least it would be honest

Katbaby · 23/04/2020 09:15

Did you have a digital one @Natt99?

Bethan91 · 23/04/2020 09:15

@djmbaker yes me too, I'm happy for 12 weeks but anything longer I'll hate. I want a baby shower but I'm also worrying now venues might not be open for me to have it where I wanted it :( might be a winter garden party at mine 😂 xx

Katbaby · 23/04/2020 09:19

@djmbaker I always feel nervous doing a test too.

Let us know how it goes!

I'd love a baby shower too! Went to my friends in Feb and it was lovely
