Mine disappeared before this time and all was fine :)

WildflowerPetals · 22/04/2020 14:59

Unfortunately it’s bad news for me. My scan showed baby is around 6 weeks instead of 12 with no heartbeat. CRL was 5mm and it has to be >7mm to be a definite MC so I have to go back next Wednesday for another scan to be sure baby’s not growing - I’m not getting my hopes up though and know it’s almost definitely a MMC. I’m devastated.

So sorry @WildflowerPetals. I have had 2mmcs - please feel free to pm me if you want to discuss the options for management etc. It sucks so much but things will get better.

I’m so sorry @WildflowerPetals

ACatCalledLola · 22/04/2020 15:33

@Snee9 from memory they take a few measurements to check so I doubt they would have got it very wrong. I’m no expert but it looks lovely the baby’s moved around a bit and one picture is closer and lighter. I don’t think it’s likely to be anything other than that.

ParisInTheSpringtime · 22/04/2020 15:38

@WildflowerPetals so sorry.

Natopp · 22/04/2020 15:45

I've had confirmation that I'll be made redundant middle of August, earliest I can take mat leave is around 23rd so it hasn't worked out too badly. I'm a full-time nanny and my employers won't need me to come back to work, now would I plan to, so redundancy made most sense which I understand completely. Plus by the time August comes round I'll probably be exhausted and won't want to run around after people's kids anymore. I'll be 29 weeks which seems very early. Has anyone with kids taken mat leave that early before? Not sure what I'm going to do with myself!

HarrietM87 · 22/04/2020 15:51

Are they able to do that @Natopp and will you still get statutory maternity pay?

I worked up to 38+4 last time and I was exhausted. I was then 2 weeks overdue which meant I did have a good break before the baby was born, but I’ll definitely go earlier this time. If I were you (assuming you’re not stressed about money) I’d enjoy your last child free time and relax!

burntpinky · 22/04/2020 15:54

@WildflowerPetals so so sorry to hear your news and sending lots of love x

Hancock2020 · 22/04/2020 15:55

@WildflowerPetals I'm so sorry

Natopp · 22/04/2020 15:57

Apparently I will still get SMP, so the 6 weeks at 90% followed by 33 weeks of standard government pay which I think is like 150 quid p/w? . Woo -haha. We will be OK for money by the time I stop working so I'm not too stressed.

From what I can tell they can legally do that and it meets the right timelines in order for me to still qualify for SMP. I need to do a bit more research and call citizens advice (I think they're the best people to speak to) but my boss is a lawyer so I'm kind of hoping she knows what she's talking about.

Yes when you put it like that I shouldn't complain about extra free time to myself. I may just read all the books I never get chance to read & do far too much online shopping Grin

burntpinky · 22/04/2020 15:59

@BuffaloCauliflower yay! So glad it went well for you
