Crikey @DressingGown87, you've done ever so well at 32. That's a very sensible position to be in and you should be very proud of yourself. You're completely right, you don't need a toxic person like him around, this certainly wouldn't help your MH. I rarely drop a c-bomb, but he deserves one! He's a c, there, I said it. I'm so angry at what he said to you! There's a special place in hell for people like him, I'm sure of that!

@Knotemma I so wish I could cut mine! I desperately need it thinned down for the summer, I already feel like a boiled egg on warmer days and wearing it up all day gives me headaches. I could probably live with my roots or do them myself, but if my hair cutting skills are similar to my grass cutting skills then I'm not going anywhere near the scissors...

I think I'll tell my hairdresser what's happening when they reopen, maybe she'd agree to come to my house or see me after hours for a quick cut. I know this might be good few weeks, if not months away!

Re eyebrows, mine are now invisible, I top them up with a bit of very light brown eye shadow 😁 I also can't remember last time I had my nails done, I normally wear gelish, but of course not at the moment. Still trying to look after myself and look half-decent best I can, it's helping my MH. I can live without all the glamour, but I do miss my beautician and hairdresser!

bee222 · 16/04/2020 11:28

Can I join in?
I’m pregnant after 3 miscarriages (2 missed miscarriages at 11 weeks last year)
I’m currently 5 weeks.

lionsmum · 16/04/2020 11:31

Everyone's bump pictures are so lovely💖 can't wait to hopefully get to that stage in this pregnant (and beyond). I'm 7+1 today and have a private scan arranged for Sunday which I organised a little while ago but I got a phone call from the foetal medicine department yesterday saying they want to scan me early next Friday too so I guess that's good! Think they will be looking after me this pregnancy as they did with my son (albeit only for 2 weeks with my son as he was subsequently delivered early).

@Dressinggown87 my goodness, what a story you have, I felt myself welling up reading that too. You are amazingly strong for being able to go through this, and for putting yourself and your baby first! What a lovely thing for that old lady to say, so unaware of your circumstances too. Sending you lots of love!

@MrsMGE I'm also feeling the emotions too, I'm yet so properly cry but I have felt myself welling up at a lot of things. Particularly the NHS advert which has keep your head up by Ben Howard playing in the background, I feel especially connected to that song at the moment. The Boris Johnston one made me laugh though!

lionsmum · 16/04/2020 11:32

Hello & gentle congratulations to all those have joined recently too☺️

MrsMGE · 16/04/2020 11:37

@lionsmum That Ben Howard's song always makes me emotional too! Also Never Give Up by Sia, apt considering your username 😊 Lovely lyrics for us now.

Avocuddles · 16/04/2020 12:12

@DressingGown87 your story made me feel very emotional - you are one tough woman and I'm so glad that old lady's words helped you to feel a little better after such an awful experience. It sounds like you are clearly better off without the father in your life (@AnxiousLady1 summed it up perfectly!), and well set up to deal with things. Hopefully we can help with the MH side of things at a very lonely time.
On the note of grooming, I'm probably at least 50% grey and my roots are awful. I was due to have my hair done the weekend after lockdown, I've now got three months of regrowth going on (would usually have it done around every 6 weeks) but hey at least no one is seeing us up close! I will definitely be going to the hairdresser once they're up and running again.

@MrsMGE you're not the only one who cried at Captain Tom - it's so nice to have a lovely positive news story at the moment.....

@Shefflin124 welcome! Your symptoms sound very similar to what I experienced in the first trimester and I'm over 16 weeks now. Mine probably peaked around 8 weeks and then started to ease off a bit, but I never had major morning sickness, just a bit of nausea when I had an empty stomach - I guess in retrospect I should count myself lucky compared to the experience of others such as @Doughnut100 and @Knotemma!
It's natural to feel anxious / lacking in confidence, I was a wreck for the first 12 weeks after two previous losses, and although I'm a bit more relaxed now I don't think the anxiety will probably ever completely disappear. This is a really supportive group (and hopefully one with lots of positive success stories gestating as we speak!) so hopefully we will be able to give you some reassurance that your feelings are perfectly normal.

@SammiLou2312 18 weeks already - almost half way!

@bee222 welcome, and sorry to hear about your losses. There are several others here at a similar stage and lots of us to talk to about the rollercoaster of emotions you must be experiencing now. Hope you are well and hopefully your rainbow baby is on the way!

AnxiousLady1 · 16/04/2020 12:12

@lionsmum I keep crying at that advert too!!! I also cried watching an episode of Friends (seen a million times). Cried when an couldn't work out what to wear one morning (no clean laundry). And cried unloading the dishwasher when a plate fell out. Didn't break. But I cried nonetheless

Whiffle77 · 16/04/2020 12:13

Oh @DressingGown87 what a truly awful person he sounds, I can't believe he would say something like that to you that's disgusting! You should be really proud of yourself with how you have handled it. It will all be worthwhile I'm sure 💞 you can always talk on here, I know that's not the same as in real life but hopefully it's some comfort!

My hair is awful! Really needs a trim but I get highlights too, and was due to get them done the day after lockdown so am in dire need already! I've bought some crazy semi perm hair dye tho denim going to do that as I've always wanted to do it but my job would go ape shit. So i thought why not whilst wfh?! Plus also helps with the bad roots!!

Hi @bee222 and welcome xx

@lionsmum pleased to hear that you are being well looked after. I have a private scan a week on Sunday and am counting down the days now.

I'm also very emotional and keep welling up at nothing, which is completely not like me. Also seem to have gone from sleeping like a log for 9 hours a night to barely sleeping at all which is very annoying.

MrsMGE · 16/04/2020 12:33

@Whiffle77 I recommend Bleach London, I've tried them already 😁

@AnxiousLady1 Welcome to the Criers Club, your dishwasher story was emotional 😂

Shefflin124 · 16/04/2020 12:36

wow thank you all for your kind reassuring words, @Doughnut100 you're right I'm probably trying to hold onto some sort of control, I just have to let that go.

@DressingGown87sounds like you've been through so much, I'm wishing every happiness with your little one. And that's so reassuring that you didn't have too many symptoms either.

@SammiLou2312 congratulations on your 18 weeks! And thanks for the sticking bean vibes!

What a lovey supportive thread. I'm going to just hope for the best for my scan net week and stop over analysing everything and stay away from google Confused

Thanks so much ladies x

Lori86 · 16/04/2020 12:45

@Whiffle77 brought my attention to this thread & I hope you don't mind if I very tentatively join as it seems like such a supportive place. I actually miscarried 4 weeks ago today, I had 3 negative tests, 1 on the morning of mc, one the day after in hospital & one a week later.
I decided to postpone ttc due to coronavirus but fate must have had other ideas as I did 3 tests yesterday which were all positive (2 more today which were also pos). I had had the same symptoms as last time & just felt pg. I also have an absolutely amazing 18 month old boy.
I'm very scared that the same thing will happen again, I'm only tentatively joining as I'm not even sure how far along I am. I'm fairly sure I ovd 2 weeks after the mc so assume I'm 4 weeks gone. Which is bittersweet. Have any of you fell pregnant so soon after mc? I haven't even had af yet.
All of your bump pictures are just amazing, congratulations to you all. I really hope you all have the most fabulous pregnancies x

DressingGown87 · 16/04/2020 12:45

Thank you all for your kind words. Found this thread such a great support, for my MH and loneliness. Find myself going crazy in the house alone! I say to myself everyday there are some horrible people out there, but there is a lot more who are nice.

I was starting to resemble the look of a badger! With ombré blonde, with dark top and a full on grey stripe at the roots! 😂

AnxiousLady1 · 16/04/2020 12:48

@MrsMGE My DH has been tip toeing around me for weeks. I am a proud member of the Criers Club. I think its a good way to vent and I'll happily blame the hormones. Lockdown is driving us crazy as it is!Smile

MrsMGE · 16/04/2020 12:50

@Lori86 This is my 3rd pregnancy, after the first MMC it took me 8 months to get pg, miscarried again very early on and much like you had a negative test straight away. I fell pg 3 weeks later (my current pregnancy), completely unexpectedly tbh! So I didn't have AF before either. As long as you've had the negative test before, there's nothing to worry about 😊 Congratulations xx

MysteriousSheep · 16/04/2020 12:52

Totally relate to the crying! Was sitting in antenatal clinic waiting area today (for ages...) and they had smooth radio on, found myself welling up to Whitney Houston!
Appointment went well and had a quick scan too, where got to see the heartbeat again so that was lovely.

MrsMGE · 16/04/2020 12:53

PS @Lori86 You may want to check weekly with Clearblue Digital How Many Weeks - there is a slight chance they might be wrong, but will give you some idea re how far along you are and if you want to check progression they might be of help too. I'll be doing them every week and a half, they're currently on offer on Amazon 😊

Lori86 · 16/04/2020 12:55

@mrsmge I'm sorry for your losses. That's lovely though that you had a positive outcome. How far along are you? May I ask how they dated your pg? Do they count your mc like its af? If that's the case my due date would be Christmas eve 😊 which sounds lovely but I'm terrified to get ahead of myself.

Lori86 · 16/04/2020 12:57

@mrsmge oh good tip, I'm going to look on amazon now 😊

MrsMGE · 16/04/2020 12:57

@Lori86 Yes it would be. Counting from that, I am 5 weeks 2 days today and due on 20/12, so very close to you! However, I normally ovulate later in the cycle, so I wouldn't be surprised if it was actually bang on at Christmas 😊

Lori86 · 16/04/2020 13:07

@mrsmge it's crazy we both mc so close together & find ourselves pg now. Fingers crossed for us both. I hope the rest of your pregnancy goes really well xx

MrsMGE · 16/04/2020 13:12

Thanks @Lori86, same to you! I'm in good spirits, it feels like an unexpected bonus especially now when the world is a different place. Every day is a gift.

@AnxiousLady1 I totally agree! Also @MysteriousSheep I think Whitney has got to be a strong contender for the Criers Club anthem! We'll end up with our own list of NOW This is what I call the Criers Club Anthems 😂

AnxiousLady1 · 16/04/2020 13:19

@MrsMGE that is a brilliant idea!! 😂😂😂 Now that's what I call Criers Club 😂😂😂😂

MysteriousSheep · 16/04/2020 13:28

@MrsMGE 😂😭😂😭 !!! Love a good melodramatic ballad - smooth radio definitely has its place. Although honestly, I’ve found tears come for no reason at all and frequently, it’s quite ridiculous but also kinda nice.

MrsMGE · 16/04/2020 13:32

@AnxiousLady1 @MysteriousSheep I'm on a slippery slope now, ladies, you've inspired me to listen to the song that always gets me and for some reason it's Bonfire Heart by James Blunt. Pass on the tissues, here is my strong contender 😂😭

Shefliesonherownwings · 16/04/2020 14:00

I'm so glad I'm not the only one desperate for a haircut! Just before lockdown I'd decided to go for a drastic revamp. Chop it all off to chin level and dye it rose gold. Was planning to get it booked in for this month but obv couldn't. My hairdresser isn't operating at the moment.

Also my eyebrows are definitely taking on a frieda kahlo look. I normally get them waxed and tinted every 2-3 weeks and it's been 2 months now. Good thing we aren't going out much!
