Do people recommend an early scan for reassurance? I’m thinking of booking one for 8 weeks as waiting another 6 weeks for a scan seems too long!

RyanStartedTheFire · 13/04/2020 13:31

mrs I would rate one if you have the money spare and don't mind going into a clinic in the current climate. I think the chance of miscarriage goes down quite a bit after seeing a heartbeat at 8 weeks so I found that really reassuring last time.

LuLaLaLa · 13/04/2020 14:20

Is anyone else cold all the time?! I cannot get warm at all.

Positevibes · 13/04/2020 14:46

@LuLaLaLa I'm exactly the same I don't know why I thought your temperature was meant to go up 🤷🏻‍♀️

LuLaLaLa · 13/04/2020 14:50

@Positevibes snap! I’m just really cold. I was sat outside in the garden with a thick hoodie on and I was so cold I had to come inside. I get cold like this when I’m tired so maybe just that. I’m feeling fine but just exhausted come 8pm. Falling asleep on the sofa

Bassbeh17 · 13/04/2020 15:20

@LuLaLaLa and @Positevibes I think it is linked to tiredness! I was fine this morning then we went for a walk for an hour or so and my husband laughed at me and said I basically waddled my way around the walk 😂 normally we do between 5&10 miles twice a week and I managed 2 miles today and huffed and puffed my way through it!!
When we got home I ate half the kitchen and took a nap 😂😂😂 and now I’m freezing! I’ve made a cup of tea to warm up and just realised I haven’t made a cup of tea in 8 days!!!! I normally drink 3/4 a day!

Positevibes · 13/04/2020 15:32

@Bassbeh17 that sounds like an very good Easter Monday a stroll and a nap ❤️ I was going to lay in bed to get warm but thought I'll only fall asleep 😂

Hatepickinganame · 13/04/2020 15:43

Am i the only ones thats crazy emotional? Ive burst into tears at least a hundred times today. For absolutely no reason i can really figure out 🤣😳 and yes to being cold, turned the heating back up today 😨😨

Bassbeh17 · 13/04/2020 15:44

@Positevibes it has been lovely although I’m dreading how tired I will be back at work tomorrow 😭😭😭
I’ve warmed up now thank goodness but still didn’t enjoy my cuppa 😂🤷🏻‍♀️

Mrsallen17 · 13/04/2020 15:57

I just had a call with my doctor which is great. He has worried me slightly. He said falling so quickly after having my tubes unblocked could lead to an ectopic pregnancy. I’m now worried my pains are worse than “normal” I’d say I’ve had mild/medium cramps for the last two weeks- which can be worse depending on how I’m sitting/lying. Is that normal? I’m 5.5 weeks?

RyanStartedTheFire · 13/04/2020 16:01

hatepickinganame yes, I'm really emotional. Probably my only symptom! Crying over ridiculous things.

2108Ta · 13/04/2020 16:22

Hi all, new to the group! Found out that I was pregnant about 2 weeks ago after a year of trying!! So pleased I cried! 😂 I’ve been lucky enough to only feel sick rather than physically needing to keep running to the bathroom, but super tired and thirsty all the time. To begin with my boobs were incredible sensitive but they seem to have worn down a bit this past week. Quite concerned- is this normal? Does this mean the baby is okay? I haven’t got my first midwifery appointment for another 3 weeks so I’m not sure who to ask. It’s all so uncertain at this time.

2108Ta · 13/04/2020 16:26

I’m so glad I’m not the only one! I’m completely the same today! My sickeness feeling isn’t half as bad and my boobs feel like normal! You’re not alone. I haven’t got my first midwife appointment for another 3 weeks so unsure of where to go for advice.

RyanStartedTheFire · 13/04/2020 16:27

Hi 2108 how far along are you? I think symptoms often subside around 6-8 weeks.

2108Ta · 13/04/2020 16:33

I would be interested in this :)

2108Ta · 13/04/2020 16:37

It’s 6W3days from my last period but I’m positive we conceived 4w2days ago. Which does it go from. Obviously this is our first 🥰

jtc19 · 13/04/2020 16:58

Food aversions? Any one else struggling to eat things they usually love ive completely gone off meat only things I can manage is cheese sandwiches & fruit everything else is just yuck to me at the moment 🥴

everpessimistic · 13/04/2020 16:59

@Mrsallen17 I had an early scan at 6 weeks and feel a bit reassured now that I’ve seen a heartbeat 😌

Mrsallen17 · 13/04/2020 17:03

Thanks everpestimistic

@jtc19 I haven’t gone off anything but I’m craving nothing but smoked salmon and scrambled eggs at the moment. Been very thirsty and my sense of smell is really odd which is putting me off eating much.

MrsB2019x · 13/04/2020 17:06

@jtc19 Not an aversion as such but I usually LOVE cereal and will wolf it down, but I’m not such a fan of it atm and it’s taking me ages to get through a bowl 🤷🏻‍♀️

Positevibes · 13/04/2020 17:08

@jtc19 my other half made a tuna sandwich earlier I usually love tuna but the smell alone put me off 🤢🤢🤢

lionsmum · 13/04/2020 17:22

@MrsB2019x so pleased you have had some good news, long may it continue

@Mrsallen17 if you can I'd recommend, I had one with our first and have one booked for this Sunday with this little one, I don't have the patience to wait until 12 weeks, I think I'd go mad!

@jtc19 I'm with @Positevibes I had a tuna sandwich last week and really enjoyed it but now even the thought of it is turning my stomach, my nausea is so much worse in the last few days, bought ginger tea in a bid to keep it at bay🤢

Hatepickinganame · 13/04/2020 17:24

Glad its not just me @RyanStartedTheFire was starting to think im losing the plot! As for food, ive gone off pizza. I freaking love pizza. Not sure what it is about pizza, potentially the cheese.

Bassbeh17 · 13/04/2020 17:32

So today I’ve eaten cucumber that tasted like chemicals, a pear that tasted like compost and my favourite biscuit just wasn’t right and I no longer get any enjoyment from a cup of tea 🤦🏽‍♀️😂

I normally drink a lot of tea and the two boys I nanny for often comment on my tea/coffee intake so how long I can keep that under cover for I don’t know! Their parents know as I was hoping my bosses would furlough me but no such luck! But I don’t want to tell the boys as the younger one will worry about me leaving and they have enough worries right now!

Hi Ladies

Mind if I join? I'm 8dpo and just got a positive test - in a bit of shock!

I'm still on my baby group from my 2.5 year old daughter which has been amazing.

Is there a Facebook group yet?
