How are you feeling if so? How far along are you?

I’m due 12th August, 21 weeks 1 day today, first baby and I’m having a boy!

I’ve felt a bit overwhelmed with this whole pandemic and the unknown of whether it’s going to be better by then! Fingers crossed for the best.

I also really want to start buying things but feel bad for shopping online given the current scenario, I just don’t want to leave it all til last minute and be really unprepared.

Would love to hear from you all Flowers

We had the doughtnut time DIY kit last week - we loved it!

Newmama29 · 14/05/2020 21:08

@mable88 you’ve hit the nail on the head! August definitely can’t come quick enough, I’m just hoping there’s less restrictions so that my little one can be surrounded by family

cannotmakemymindup · 14/05/2020 21:13

@Bert2020 Yes a new thing. If you live in London they're doing their actual doughnuts for delivery as well but if not their kits are delivered all over the country.
(Wish I was on commission with them for how many I've recommended or purchased them as gifts) Grin

cannotmakemymindup · 14/05/2020 21:14

Oh sweet @2020Aug such fun!!

squashie34 · 14/05/2020 23:19

Totally hear you ladies about just counting down the days and feeling a little bit like nothing else is really happening.. I feel like my days are just revolved around trips to the hospital and going from upstairs working in the day to downstairs sitting on the sofa at night 😕 I don't think it helps your mind keep busy or stop you thinking/worry about little one and movements etc either as there's no difference in your days. I literally count down to the Sunday where I can chalk another week onto how many weeks I am 😆 even getting deliveries and eating aren't giving me the pleasure they once were.

However, may I make a suggestion that if anyone needs any ultimate car crash tv to get themselves totally engrossed in its 90 day fiancé on TLC.. I'm hooked 🙈

mable88 · 15/05/2020 12:46

So today’s random question - can baby kicking make it into your dreams?? I’ve had a few dreams this week where I have felt a kick bit as part of the dream, I wasn’t woken up by her kicking me though. So was that baby kicking me while I slept? Or just my brain sorting it’s thoughts out for the day? Interesting thought! Anyone else had this?

kaxxz · 15/05/2020 13:25

@mable88 I've experienced that before, I'm guessing we spend all day focussing on baby movements etc that it even comes up in our sleep? Lol

Oldestchild90s · 15/05/2020 13:49

@mable88 i can see where you are coming from, i keep having more nightmares about not feeling the baby as much as i should.. babies on the mind 24/7 drives you crazy haha 🤔

StephD2020 · 15/05/2020 14:54

Not me @mable88 I'm just over here dreaming about holding a pillow over DH's face to stop the snoring 🤬😱 x

squashie34 · 15/05/2020 15:22

@StephD2020 🤣🤣🤣

squashie34 · 15/05/2020 15:23

@mable88 I wonder this, I wake up thinking did I feel her in the night or did I dream I felt her? Then I lie as still as possible until I get a good morning kick or nudge and I relax and go ahhh then roll over and go back to sleep.. that happened at 5:00am this morning. I'm getting borderline psychotic I'm sure 👀🤣

kersh33 · 15/05/2020 15:28

@StephD2020 could I be really cheeky and ask you to send me your babythings list too?

With the lockdown I just haven't bought a single thing and struggling to get myself organised - not helped by the fact that we are stuck in a tiny one bedroom flat we were supposed to be moving out of but got stymied by lockdown! 😔

mable88 · 15/05/2020 15:28

I’m pleased to hear the dream kick thing is not just me 🤣

Just been emailed the plans and timetable for school potentially reopening by my head - I’m not on the timetable. So that’s me definitely done with school until some time next year... I wasn’t expecting to be called in but it’s still a very weird thought and also part of me is so frustrated I can’t be in and pulling my weight with everyone, as that is very much what my school is all about. But obviously I’m massively relieve that little lady and I will be tucked up safely at home together until she arrives. Confused

Oldestchild90s · 15/05/2020 16:14

First day in ages my little pipsqueak is kicking like a mad one 😍 so someone mentioned home birthing before, my friend has decided she's having a c section and is booked in for 3 weeks time.. has anyone else thought about that? Is a planned c section through choice the new thing?

cannotmakemymindup · 15/05/2020 17:10

@Oldestchild90s I actually have the option of a C-section this time, as I had one for my first birth. However I am hoping to have a VBAC as I have a 75% of it being successful.
Mainly because C-section was absolutely fine for me, not traumatic or anything just a very cosy baby not wanting to be born yet, the recovery took awhile and I would love to be home faster this time and hopefully quicker recovery. I think planned C-sections are always a little easier than emergency ones mind because you haven't laboured in addition to having an operation.

However I will do whatever is the best for baby at the end of day, so whatever happens I'll be happy.

@StephD2020 this is amazing thank you so much!! Where did you get a cot mobile? I’ve been looking everywhere online & can’t see any 😔

StephD2020 · 15/05/2020 17:43

So I found this website called preciouslittleone.com who have been great. I've picked a range called Clair de Lune and I actually think if you order direct from them you can get 10% off at the moment too. I got the mobile and the white dimple range for blanket, hooded towels, changing mat and toppers because they were so lovely as well as the mobile x

2020Aug · 15/05/2020 19:03

Thanks @StephD2020 that is an amazing list. I've struggled to find waterproof protector for the next to me crib, have you managed to find any?

JMill13 · 15/05/2020 19:41

Baby kicking dreams have been real this week. Have woke up a few times wondering if I've actually felt it and its woken me or I've just been dreaming.

@stephD2020 oh wow, what an amazing list. I've taken a screenshot for now, so I can sit tomorrow and make a proper list out of it.

Thought I'd come on a give you all a bit of a laugh. Last night I made myself a cup of tea. Tea bag in mug, poured water in and stood staring at my mug for 3 minutes genuinely wondering why my tea was black and not white. Like I was completely dumbfounded for 3 whole minutes until I realised I hadn't put milk in 😂
Anyone else doing crazy dumb things?

2020Aug · 15/05/2020 19:52

Haha @JMill13, I poured orange juice into my DH cup of tea instead of milk this morning so you are definitely not alone doing silly things 😂

Newmama29 · 15/05/2020 20:49

@JMill13 I’m loving having “baby brain” as an excuse for all the daft things I do on a daily basis! I could be ditzy beforehand so now it’s just a nice excuse 😂

StephD2020 · 15/05/2020 20:52

@2020Aug I bought these ones

www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B07FGKS4JW?psc=1&ref=ppxpopmobbasin_title

I have no idea how good they are but seemed ok and at £5.99 I was prepared to take the risk 🤞🏻

@JMill13 I'm doing loads of dopey things! I keep dropping things and being clumsier than normal and I keep starting things and then forgetting what it was that I was doing in the first place. Baby brain has defo landed over here! 🤣

Well I've just spoken to a private midwife about a home birth. She was so lovely and I'm pretty much set on wanting to book her right now. DH really not keen - how do I convince him?! X

Luna321 · 15/05/2020 21:14

@Oldestchild90s I don't know for sure but from what I have been told you have to have a very good reason to want a c section, unless you're going private I guess.

I am sooo clumsy when pregnant. So far today I've dropped a punnet of strawberries all over the floor not once but twice! Last time with my boy in one day I dropped my (new 🙈) iPhone on the floor and the screen smashed, I dropped a personalised mug and broke it and i spilt tomato soup on the floor of the staff room. Probably best I do stay at home this time 🤣

@cannotmakemymindup I'm also hoping to go for a vbac this time. I had a section last time due to undiagnosed breech and I'm so worried it might happen again 😬

JMill13 · 15/05/2020 22:51

😂 Loving the baby brain stories. Other half doesn't believe me that it's a real thing, so this makes me feel better.

Prob doesn't help that in my normal non preggo life I am one of the most clumsy people around.

@luna321 Hahaha this genuinely sounds like my daily life pre-pregnancy 😂 there appears to be a clumsy gene in my family as all of us on dad's side are as bad as each other.
