How are you feeling if so? How far along are you?

I’m due 12th August, 21 weeks 1 day today, first baby and I’m having a boy!

I’ve felt a bit overwhelmed with this whole pandemic and the unknown of whether it’s going to be better by then! Fingers crossed for the best.

I also really want to start buying things but feel bad for shopping online given the current scenario, I just don’t want to leave it all til last minute and be really unprepared.

Would love to hear from you all Flowers

Ahh name chat! My favourite is Madeleine, hubby’s is Emilia. I think Madeleine Emilia sounds nice but don’t like them as much the other way round!

Not finding I’m getting full particularly but I have found that bending over is starting to get a bit tricky! Like picking stuff up off the floor and putting on shoes. Blush

Lolxx · 07/05/2020 21:29

We have a couple names but we probably won’t be set on one until he’s here! I’m quite superstitious so don’t want to jinx anything.
My appetite is wanting to eat everything but unable to fit it in my stomach so I’m going around eating half of everything haha!

cannotmakemymindup · 07/05/2020 21:30

Hahaha @mable88 yes quite literally cannot bend! My daughter keeps asking me to help her with stuff and I just can't. She has to wait for her dad to get home frim work or just really try hard herself.

StephD2020 · 07/05/2020 21:32

Oh I have most definitely not lost my appetite! Trying my best to not eat myself out of house and home! Having to be quite strict on the food front as I've already gained 3 stone and trying to slow down the gain.... 😱

Defo getting fuller quicker @sel2223 and starting to consider splitting my evening meal into a two part affair 🤣

Lovely names ladies! We are still a little up in the air about it. I know what I like but dh takes AGES to make a decision so we might have come to some sort of agreement in about 11 weeks time...... 🙄 x

Nfblues · 07/05/2020 22:11

Very impressed with those of you eating well, I’ve been unable to control myself and have essentially eaten everything I possibly can once the morning sickness eased off. Currently I’m in the stage of thinking about what snack to have next whilst I’m having a snack Blush Have definitely not lost my appetite haha

@StephD2020 @Bert2020 super jealous of you both! We were due our valuation the day lockdown happened and it’s been on hold ever since. The sellers are living there currently so a valuation can’t be done until they ease on the lockdown. Fingers crossed the housing market slowly gets reopened soon!

Awww loving all the names! We’re keeping ours top secret too but i guess MN doesn’t count. We’ve gone for Liyana for our little girl, it means soft spoken and tenderness 🥰 I was secretly a little glad when we were told it was a girl as we couldn’t come up with even one boys name! I find girls names a lot easier

squashie34 · 07/05/2020 23:39

Gorgeous names ladies I love them all! ❤️ and I know what some of you mean about waiting to see if the name suits them.. we have decided on the name but if she comes out and we think hell no she looks nothing like a Luna we will change it as no one knows it anyway, although I'll need to buy a new changing mat as I couldn't resist one with her name on 🙄 totally agree boy names are so much harder than girls.. we ended up using a baby name app like tinder to both swipe through boys names on our phones and see what ones we matched 🙈😆 responsible parenting at its finest!

JMill13 · 07/05/2020 23:48

Ooh some lovely names ladies. We have 2 girls names and 2 boys names picked out so will have a little wiggle room once baby is born and we find out if it's a he or she. We struggled so much coming up with boys names. So many nice boys names out there but other half having been a boy once upon a time knows too many boys/men that were/are dicks so a lot of names instantly got vetoed. Think we both did that a bit actually.

I get super full when eating now too, tough going when you're starving and then 3 bites in your struggling. I think at least part of my issue with losing my appetite is the heartburn situation. I was veggie before getting pregnant and craved chicken so much at the start so have just been eating meat in whatever capacity since then but I've fully gone back of it and finding myself leaning back toward veggie food again which is nice.

Today's walk really brought me down to reality. The waddling has officially started, had to keep stopping cause it honestly felt like someone was stretching my belly up like an elastic band only managed 30 minutes before giving up and coming home.

squashie34 · 08/05/2020 00:09

@JMill13 how many weeks are you now? Loving that the waddle has come out, a walk just seems like a mammoth effort right when everything stretches! Also it's crazy that you're veggie but your body craved chicken! Pregnancy is so strange isn't it 😆

JMill13 · 08/05/2020 00:18

@squashie34 25 weeks tomorrow. Or well I guess today being that it's after midnight. How far along are you? The stretch pains are woeful. Other half got a kick out of it though cause he's used to him not being able to keep up with me not the other way round (I'm a super fast walker and can't stand going slow and now here we are 😂🙈)

I know, all my cravings at the start were for food and drinks that my boyfriend loved which was all I wanted all the time. Pregnancy really is weird. How does it make some people crave what their partners eat? Or some people not get cravings at all? My friend said while she was pregnant she didn't get any cravings but her husband got all the cravings instead.

Nfblues · 08/05/2020 00:33

@JMill13 similarly my husband got nausea at the beginning of my pregnancy, I was the one vomiting 6+ times a day and he had the bloody cheek to tell me he felt ill! I was not impressed lool

@squashie34 oooh can I ask where you got the changing mat from? I can’t seem to find one I like although there are a few that are okay on Etsy. I’m very fussy and spending a lot of time saving things I like for the nursery that we don’t have space for until we move house Blush

Which reminds me, someone asked me where I was looking at baby bonnets and baby sunglasses. The insta page is baby_snuggle if anyone else also has the unnecessary urge to put cute floral sunglasses on their baby!

squashie34 · 08/05/2020 06:30

@JMill13 @Nfblues haha I've actually heard of that before, where the husband gets 'morning sickness' in sympathy for their wife, but thought it was something definitely made up by a man.. they wouldn't be able to hack feeling like that for 12 weeks straight 😆

The changing mats are from a place called Mamashackbaby and they also have a website too- they do changing mats and Muslins and I just love all of their pictures of nurseries 😩 id not given a bonnet a thought but definitely going to be needed in summer isn't it- I'll check them out now! And unnecessary sunglasses? Absolutely want those 🤭

Beth804 · 08/05/2020 07:53

Ah @JMill13 I'm 25 weeks today too! Definitely got a waddle on!
We are really struggling with boys names, and we need 2 😩 Well, 4 if we're doing middle names! I feel like I've looked at every boys name in the world, so think we'll just have to pick from our little 'maybe' list!

Oldestchild90s · 08/05/2020 08:27

I'm finding things really difficult now, i found this out yesterday when i went for a walk. Waddling along 👀 in the heat, when i got back to the house i thought i was going to collapse. I don't think pregnancy life is for me really 😂 actually the thing is i was due a knee operation too so that had to be cancelled and postponed until next year which has been hard to take.

I love the changing mats, might have to invest myself!

26 weeks tomorrow! Is anyone enjoying their bump? Enjoying the actual pregnancy?

squashie34 · 08/05/2020 08:51

I'm 27 weeks on Sunday and I feel so bad to saying it as I know I'm so lucky to be having a Baby and she's desperately wanted, but I hate being pregnant 😖 I really am struggling with having no control over my body and how it's changing and growing. I know it's a miracle how your body works to grow a human and I can't wait to hold her in my arms, but the actual pregnancy bit I have hated, including the crazy hormones and having no control over how they've affected my anxiety too. Im a constant ball of worry! I don't think I ever really got that 'honeymoon' period in the second trimester, maybe a couple of weeks but that's it 😆 and I feel like there's this huge thing made about mums to be 'glowing' in their pregnancy like you see on social media. My reality is my clothes don't fit so I'm wearing my partners shorts and tshirts, I make very loud noises when trying to get off the sofa and I'm aching everywhere 😂

squashie34 · 08/05/2020 08:53

Oh but I do adore lying there feeling the kicks and wriggles when she's having a moment in there. That's something special I'll always remember that no one else has got to have with her ❤️

Oldestchild90s · 08/05/2020 09:08

I'm 100% with you there, seeing her during the scans, hearing the heartbeat, feeling the kicks, everything is just amazing! But my clothes don't fit, i have lumps and bumps everywhere, my boobs have literally exploded 😂 i never had the glowing lovely feeling others seem to experience.

Rolling off the sofa like a beached whale while shouting 'aaaargh' 🐳

squashie34 · 08/05/2020 09:24

Here's to all the beached whales.. roll on 8/10 weeks time when bumps are huge, there's a heatwave and we are sticking our swollen feet in buckets of ice cold water whilst wearing a smock 🤣 🐳

StephD2020 · 08/05/2020 09:28

Oh ladies, I am soooo with you there! I'm 28 weeks on Sunday and I am done with being pregnant already! Not that I've had a terrible ride, quite the opposite (in fact I'd say it has been easy peasy) as I've had no morning sickness or any symptoms at all really. But now the stretching when going for a walk is just too much - still managing a good 5 miles a few times a week but it is such an effort. Plus the weight gain is wild, I do a lot of Olympic lifting at the gym with my trainer and as I've had to tone all that down both with being preggo and corona, my weight has just ballooned. 😱😱😱😱

I literally cannot wait to get her out so I can get my body back!

Anyone suffering with breathlessness? I'm struggling so badly in the mornings after my breakfast, just cannot seem to get comfortable 😭

StephD2020 · 08/05/2020 09:36

Oh on the changing mat front, I've ordered this one:

www.preciouslittleone.com/product-information/87/34574/clair-de-lune-changing-mat-(dimple-white)/

The website has loads though so have a look if you're struggling to find one as they are super reasonable price wise too x

Lolxx · 08/05/2020 09:42

@StephD2020 I’ve had terrible breathlessness for the last few weeks, I’m mostly at night! It had got so bad one night I was paranoid I had coronavirus haha!!

I’m also 25 weeks today! Can’t believe how quick it’s starting to go in. I’m with everyone on the stretching pains! I have to go for a bath every night as the pains in my abs muscles is just too much Sad

Lolxx · 08/05/2020 09:44

I’m 24 weeks today even! Sorry I gave myself an extra week there haha!! Blush

Oldestchild90s · 08/05/2020 09:53

@StephD2020 wowee weightlifting, nice! Same sort of thing with me, was doing regular training and i was in great shape up until just before christmas i started feeling iffy then i found out i was pregnant.. since then i've not been back to the gym and put on about 2 stone ☹️ quite excited for the challenge of getting back to 'normal' afterwards though!!

I only seem to have breathlessness when i've eaten or had something to drink, it's a horrible feeling actually.

Does anyone think the days go by slowly but the weeks go by quickly?

heroineinahalfshell · 08/05/2020 09:54

@Oldestchild90s I hate to be that person, but I'm 26 weeks tomorrow and absolutely loving being pregnant. Tbf it's been a really easy pregnancy so far (knock on wood), but I just love the bump, I feel great and am only craving healthy food and enjoying daily walks with DH (I was v unhealthy pre-pregnancy), and I love it now that I can feel her flip around.

We've decided on Caroline, but still debating a middle name. I'd like to use a family name, so potentially Caroline Sylvia after DH's nan, but DH is campaigning for Caroline Jessica (no family connection, he just likes Jessica, i'm not so sold). We're keeping it a secret too, and my mum is so miffed about it!

squashie34 · 08/05/2020 09:56

@StephD2020 I've just realised I'm
28 weeks on Sunday not 27 😂 so we must be due the same date - 2nd August? I know what you mean about the weight gain, I did a lot of CrossFit before being pregnant and in early pregnancy, when I wasn't throwing up (oly lifts included!) but now bump is in the way I cant use a barbell really, only dumbbells and to be honest they've been used to hold the door open for the last 3 weeks 🙄 I can just about manage a walk! I think that's what's hard after being used to being in the gym 5x per week. And yes to the breathlessness!

squashie34 · 08/05/2020 09:58

@heroineinahalfshell can you spill your secrets on how you feel so good?! I'm jealous! 🤩
