@Staci1 welcome to the group! I find it so useful chatting here.

@esmerelda1988 I know what you mean, ours is currently 3 hours in the evening post natal ward. I don’t really get what the difference is in 3 hour visit Vs staying for longer, if you come onto the ward there’s a risk as soon as you walk in.

How’s everyones days been? I have done nothing today, my husband even brought me breakfast in bed, unheard of on a week day. Every day I hope it’s my last morning sickness day!!

Indigogirl88 · 02/04/2020 19:07

@Treacle81 that's great I went on and ordered it Grin

otterbaby · 02/04/2020 19:08

I've been feeling really crap the past two days - just can't bring myself to do anything! I really miss being at work, I never thought I'd say it 😢 chatting with friends over the phone just isn't the same as human interaction on a daily basis.

MsSian93 · 03/04/2020 09:23

I ended up sending off to Nub techs and they came back with 95% certainty of a boy. It’s funny as I’ve felt it was a boy right from early on and everyone else was saying girl. I think we will end up finding out. Money is going to be even tighter now I’ve been furloughed so will help that we can buy clothes second hand

BntTowers · 03/04/2020 09:37

I feel so consumed by absolute tiredness today. I am struggling to keep my eyes open. I think there will be frequent nap breaks today.

@MsSian93 sorry to hear that, are you covered by the 80% government scheme? We are going to try and buy as much as possible second hand.

Cherir20 · 03/04/2020 10:19

Hey guys,

Thought I would jump on this thread. So nice to see your scan photos etc congratulations to you all Smile ! So nice reading your stories.

I have my scan next week and am petrified! My symptoms have gone down so much has anyone else had this ? Worrying me like mad! Xx

Quiffy · 03/04/2020 10:23

@otterbaby how you feeling today?

@MsSian93 sorry about the furlough :( second hand is great though, most of the stuff is so well kept it's practically new anyway. Same as @bnttowers we're trying to get as much as possible as don't want to spend a fortune.

@LexiM Feel you on the hoping for last sickness day. I brushed my teeth too hard this morning and ended up being sick at 630 :(

I took yesterday off, it was wonderful. I read a whole book (working through the Sookie Stackhouse Mysteries atm) and totally rested as was feeling rubbish. Back to work today though boo.

I'm also trying to convonce DH that he has to get me a push present. As, tbh, I thought pregnancy was all about my hair being thick, skin clear and eating McDonalds. So, far it's puke, feeling pukey and a hairy belly. That deserves a little present at the end (on top of the baby natch)

Quiffy · 03/04/2020 10:24

@Cherir20 Welcome! A few people on here have had that - think it's due to placenta taking over and taking the burden of the hormones? Something like that, try not to worry too much :) (I say that having been terrified at mine - it's hard but it's worth it)

LexiM · 03/04/2020 10:36

@Cherir20 welcome and try not to worry everyone is different. Mine reduced and then came back when I naively said I no longer had morning sickness. Hope you enjoy your scan.

@quiffy sorry you are being sick again today, it’s so horrible Isn’t it. I am also yet to see many benefits in terms of my appearance!! I had a day of nothing yesterday and have written a small list of chores to get done today. I’ve broken them down into smaller parts so even if I get a bit done I don’t feel like I’ve done nothing.

@BntTowers hope you manage to get those naps in today, you’ve really gotta do what your body wants at the moment haven’t you!

@MsSian93 sorry to hear you’ve been furloughed. We will also be getting lots of second hand things as you can get good quality things that have barely been used, particularly the type of things babies only use for 6 months. I keep saying I’m having a boy, DH says girl... I do wonder if I just said boy because he said girl! 😂

@otterbaby hope you are feeling better today. I really miss social interaction too, I’ve started thinking about how long I’ve been inside for which isn’t good. Because I’ve been feeling rubbish I haven’t really been outside either, I’ve said to my husband I need to start going on a little walk each day now so I’m not still all day.

Quiffy · 03/04/2020 10:45

@LexiM A list is actually an amazing idea. I keep looking at all the mess and things that need to be done and feeling overwhelmed. But a list broken into further little tasks is much more manageable. Good luck today! I fully believe doing even a little task atm is a major accomplishment so don't tire yourself out too much

Zaalfruit · 03/04/2020 11:50

Hiya everyone work has been so mad - i don’t understand why some don’t know how to use their laptops, but any ways.

I have so much to catch up it’s been two days since I came here.

@Cherir20 my symptoms have reduced a lot over the last week no sickness I’m trying to enjoy it and just chill. My husbands been telling me to be more laid back about it _ he said you are taking your vitamins , you are drinking water and eating food . Everything is in the hands of the universe, I’m trying to be chilled about losing my symptoms . It’s hard thou not to google everything and scare myself - even my water bloat is gone .

@Quiffy been telling my husband the last few years he has to give me a Rolex as a push present - his response from China town 🤣🤣🤣.

My husbands a huge Liverpool fan and he wants to dress the baby on the way home in a Liverpool kit - makes me cringe so much !

He sent me this pic saying let’s buy this pram - 🤮🤢

Early Oct babies part 3!
Zaalfruit · 03/04/2020 11:54

@MsSian93 sorry to hear you ah e been furloughed, I’m worried about it too. My husbands also been asked to think about taking voluntary redundancy . It’s hard for us to save as well because the mortgage and bills take up a large bit of our income plus my DH helps his parents and siblings financially. I don’t want to tell him to scale back - I need him to do on his own, I don’t want him to resent me for it .

Quiffy · 03/04/2020 12:09

@Zaalfruit He's told me he'll buy me a Ps5... He wants a PS5. I feel like I should be allowed a niceish sewing machine as I only have a baby one atm. Will need to wear him down... Love the China Town comment hehe

I have bought a football baby outfit but it's for the American football team we both support and the baby's grandad supports another AF team and I said I;m fine with a hat or something for them. For some reason I think it's less cringe? Even though that makes so sense. I couldnt be doing with any of the big UK teams - I think it's because there is such a big Rangers vs Celtic rivalry here and it gets really violent, with kids being brought up to hate the other side's fans. So, I'd never have them in something like that. Plus I hate soccor haha.

No way to that pram, compromise with the Liverpool suit but for something else rather than the way home.

LexiM · 03/04/2020 12:18

@quiffy I definitely think it makes it more manageable and I am probably getting more done than if I put big tasks like whole rooms. I’ve got 4 tasks ticked off so far today. I am so easily pleased!!

@Zaalfruit I swear partners just say these things to wind us up! I remember when my sisters partner dressed my niece in a football kit and my Mum was looking after her, she waited until he drove off and changed her 🤣 Luckily my husband doesn’t really like football so I won’t have that issue. Just encourage him to get a small size and then it won’t last very long 😜

Treacle81 · 03/04/2020 12:42

Morning girls and welcome newcomers 💁‍♀️ I’m back to being as tired as I was a few weeks ago if not even more so and still constantly nauseous- just pray for the day it goes!!! xx

OP posts:
Indigogirl88 · 03/04/2020 14:47

Snap @Treacle81 my nausea seems to be starting at like 8pm till 10pm it's so strange! I'm super tired but then having restless nights sleep. This blooming pregnancy pillow better work!

bluemoon2468 · 03/04/2020 16:54

Got my screening results back - low risk, yay 🎉 But does anyone know what 'age related risk at term' means? Is that the average risk for someone my age?

Mine says:
DS - age related risk 1 in 1134, individual risk

Zaalfruit · 03/04/2020 17:46

@Quiffy a ps5 lol I can imagine my DH saying that , sewing machine sounds good . I am going to see if he can arrange a holiday , I have always wanted to go Cyprus - maybe leave the baby at my parents .

@Indigogirl88 I get night nausea, and it causes so much disturbed sleep.

@LexiM you are so lucky your husband isn’t a football fan - mine is a proper football mad - everyday after work he watched football not even the team he supports and all he does is reads twitter about football news . On our honeymoon we went to some silly sports bar just so he could watch football. To top it off he has a football on him a lot of the time .

Spark27 · 03/04/2020 18:39

So pleased my DH isn't into football at all. He also knows he cant have a PS or anything like that (his decision) as he would spend ALL his time on it. But I think that's how he spent his 20's and early 30's so he seems to be over it. He would watch films all the time, but I just fall asleep.

I got an eternity ring after I had my DD. I really wanted one so told DH it was a tradition. He has no idea about stuff like that. Not sure what to angle towards this time......maybe some nice earrings. If it's another girl I can guilt him into it by saying I can leave them to the girls in an inheritance.

BntTowers · 03/04/2020 19:45

I've been enjoying our Friday nights in over the last few weeks. The band we had at our wedding have been doing social distancing gigs on Facebook. We've also been enjoying the taskmaster hometasking clips on twitter and Jimmy Carr is going a Little Quiz of the lockdown every day. Has anyone been keeping their eyes out for things like that?

HungryPanda92 · 03/04/2020 21:44

Congrats to everyone who's had scans since I was last here.
@treaclepie19 so glad for you with that nice, low NT measurement. Hope you didn't give yourself too much of a hard time with the cleaning after.

You've all got me thinking about names now and I'm at a bit of a loss because my OHs surname is rubbish hahaha. We're not married but mine is worse so I guess I'll have to go with his. Maybe I'll wait till I know the sex so at least its only one gender to think about.

Treaclepie19 · 03/04/2020 22:09

Thanks so much @HungryPanda92 Smile
I did okay actually, I did come back and shower but the worry didn't linger.
I'm still quite wary of the bag I took with me but that's okay.

I'm so pleased with our NT but still so wary about not having the amnio. We really don't want to if not necessary but they can't tell us it's all fine without it. Its tricky.

HungryPanda92 · 03/04/2020 22:31

@treaclepie19 it's like the worry never ends even when you get good news. Last time round I had no chromosomal issues just physical but still can't stop worrying about my blood test results coming back. I'm trying my best to just enjoy it but can't help but be anxious.
