Yes, I feel v unattractive at the minute and what is certainly not helping is this horrid rash I seem to get after I shower. It’s red, raised and scaly at parts and just awful looking. Need to try get to Boots for a cream, maybe my moisturiser is too perfumes for now xx

Ooh can I join? I'm due 4th October.
This is my first baby so finding it all a bit bewildering.

BntTowers · 20/04/2020 10:42

@Treacle81 I would try and get something unscented for now. I have sensitive skin normally and best to go for something natural or unscented. Cocoa butter might held, Lush do one called dream cream which is good, but sold out (just tried to get some for myself).

Quiffy · 20/04/2020 11:06

@Indigogirl88 a pamper day sounds like a great idea. Treat yourself and hopefully it makes you feel better

HerondaleDucks · 20/04/2020 11:12

@quiffy it's been a little up and down, had a big bleed at 11 weeks with clotting which was super scary. But had an emergency scan and the baby was fine.
When I had the first antenatal appointment at 13 weeks everything was fine.
It really sucks with everything going on, I had to do it alone and my husband wasn't allowed to come to any of my appointments.
But got to keep everyone safe!
I also had heart surgery as a baby and never had any issues with my heart since. But since I've been pregnant I am now high risk and they are monitoring my heart. So that's also been a bit scary.

How about you? How is everyone else finding pregnancy whilst having to isolate?

Quiffy · 20/04/2020 11:25

@herondaleducks Your bleed sounds very scary - so glad everything is okay. It's so hard with all these appointments and having to go alone :( fingers crossed everything stays okay with your heart.

Not too bad here, I don't mind staying in as a WFH anyway. Miss my family so much though. Sickness has been kicking my butt, but hopefully it eases soon. Scary time to be pregnant though! It's weird to think that we might have to do 'first' things with a second child at this rate.

Spark27 · 20/04/2020 11:36

I LOVE the name Ottilie too. I suggested it to DH and he said he wasnt sure and it sounded weird. What is wrong with these men?! Hes not coming up with any suggestions though, just seems to be waiting on me.

I had a terrible nights sleep too. I fell asleep around midnight and then was awake between 0230 and 0430.

Feeling really fed up and stir crazy at the moment. I want to feel like I'm doing stuff and achieving things, but I'm not (apart from keeping us all alive!) And DD is starting to get fed up with it all, which is affecting her behaviour. Urgh, it just feels never ending at the mo

BntTowers · 20/04/2020 11:37

@HerondaleDucks welcome!
Your bleed sounds scary, it's hard going to scans and appointments alone isn't it? Hopefully they will start letting partners be involved a bit more soon. With mine it feels like he knows I'm pregnant, but doesn't really relate it to an actual baby growing as he hasn't been part of the scans or anything yet, which is frustrating.
At least they are keeping a close eye on you to just make sure that everything is going smoothly still.

I'm missing seeing people, even just going to the shops, DH has been doing all of that to reduce risk.
At the weekend I was getting very frustrated at not being able to go out and choose anything for baby yet, online research isn't cutting it for me!
WFH has also been strange and incredibly frustrating.

HerondaleDucks · 20/04/2020 11:48

@Quiffy @bntTowers
Thanks both!
I completely know what you mean, my husband is the same. He gets upset that he takes me to appointments and then has to sit in the car and wait.

I'm also working from home, which was a nightmare at the beginning because I couldn't get comfortable sat at the table, so I'm having to sit on my bed because it's the only place that doesn't give me raging back ache.
@Quiffy sorry to hear about your morning sickness. I stopped having mine at 12 weeks. But then I have a serious hair growth situation and am seriously concerned my baby will meet me in october with a full grown lady beard.
My skin has been really dry and spotty too which was not normal for me.

Has anyone else been having completely bonkers dreams too??

roarfeckingroar · 20/04/2020 11:57

@Quiffy @Spark27 I know!! Ottilie is a gorgeous name. None of the men I know seem to get it. I'm fond of DP and all but I'm strongly considering shipping him off when the time comes for a second just to get to use it.

Indigogirl88 · 20/04/2020 12:41

Welcome @HerondaleDucks you've come to the right place I'm due 6th so pretty close and I'm a FTM.

I'm having a totally bonkers dreams every night

@Spark27 feeling totally fed up as well, have no mojo today so looking at storage ideas on pinterest

Aquablue1123 · 20/04/2020 13:11

@Quiffy so I used the app but basically can only hear gassy bubble sounds haha. Apparently it does work but after 20+ weeks, I doubt it though. I actually may consider buying a proper heart monitor, I think the expense will be worth it if I can relax slightly.

@Treaclepie19 me too, such a bad sleep last night due to the night nose bleeds again.

@HerondaleDucks welcome 😊, this group is great to have a chat and gain/offer advice. I'm due the 7th and also FTM.

Quiffy · 20/04/2020 13:35

@HerondaleDucks nooo! I was moaning about a hairy stomach but a beard is crazy! Hope it doesnt get that bad for you

@roarfeckingroar My DH was against my fav first name but he's come round now. The middle name is now the issue, still got 5 months to wear him down, so you've got time too. Boys are silly, they just need a kick in the right direction ;)

@Aquablue1123 Some people seem to be very good at finding it, it would be reassuring - but then there's the worry you don't. Hopefully movements kick in soon too

My DH just did a big WTF at my lunch and decided I was definitely pregnant. Not too weird, just cocktail sausages, chive cheese on digestives and some pickled beetroot. Cheese, beetroots and meat are my food loves at the moment - although I'm sure beetroot might be a mistake if I'm sick hehe.

HerondaleDucks · 20/04/2020 13:39

I still resemble a woman at the moment so we're good.
I had a huge thing for eggs at the beginning. It seems to have calmed down a bit now.

Now I've hit the 16 weeks mark I'm getting excited to feel the fluttering thing that should be happening soon. Knowing me... when I comes I'll probably mistake it for a need for a poo or something lol

LexiM · 20/04/2020 14:35

@herondaleducks welcome to the group. I’m also a FTM and find this group so helpful. I have the weirdest dreams at the moment too, never had lots of dreams either but I do now.

I’ve also had problems sleeping but not sure why as generally feeling better and not as sick most days.

Now I promised myself I wouldn’t really buy anything until the 20 week scan but saw this the other week and couldn’t resist plus got the free muslin. I’ve always loved birds and as a child I had loads of chickens and ducks, my Mum has a small farm and still does. It’s so cute and soft.

Haha @Quiffy your lunch does sound odd but I keep saying to my husband “well if you can’t do X when pregnant when can you” as he watched me eating a crunchie in the bath last week 😄 At the moment I’m more into snacking than full meals.

Early Oct babies part 3!
BntTowers · 20/04/2020 15:06

@LexiM they are really cute. I've seen a little fleece body suit on The White Company site that is like a little bear and I'm so tempted to just order it.

roarfeckingroar · 20/04/2020 16:16

@HerondaleDucks I've been so gassy for weeks that I'm certain I'll miss or mistake the first movements!!

@quiffy sage advice and your lunch sounds ideal. I cannot get enough tomatoes at the moment, ideally with mustard. I'm having a caprese salad and a crepe egg for dinner.

@LexiM my dreams are nuts, I'm sleeping well b it they're so intense I wake up wanting a nap Grin

HerondaleDucks · 20/04/2020 16:33

@roarfeckingroar hear hear... I think there should be a pregnancy fart club!

roarfeckingroar · 20/04/2020 17:00

@HerondaleDucks I'm afraid I would be founder, life president and CEO. It's SO bad. DP just looks at me in horror and sometimes rates them now.

blankiesandunicorns · 20/04/2020 17:18

Welcome @HerondaleDucks sounds like you've had a scary time but hopefully things will be easier for you now. I had a bleed at 9 weeks and was terrified, I never had that with my first either so didn't understand why and never found out! Sometimes these things just happen I suppose.

@LexiM where are they from their gorgeous 😍

Indigogirl88 · 20/04/2020 20:04

@LexiM love it! I've put a bunch of things in my amazon basket ready for pay day hehe

LostinAusten2 · 20/04/2020 20:19

Belated welcome from me too @HerondaleDucks - lovely to have the chat here, and yep I’m FTM as well and due 13 October.

I’m still feeling a bit dodgy (my nose has been incredible - I can smell /everything/ - this doesn’t ease up I’ve got an epic career ahead in the perfume industry... 😄).

And snap - weird dreams, dysfunctional digestion in every way - just counting down to the 20-wk scan and then going to retail therapy myself through to October 😊

And @LexiM - the duck outfit is epic 🥰

HerondaleDucks · 20/04/2020 20:24

Thanks for the lovely welcome everyone.
Also what is the nub theory?

blankiesandunicorns · 20/04/2020 20:44

@HerondaleDucks something to do with using something on the scan to guess the sex of the baby but I could be wrong and I'm sure someone else will come along be able to explain it properly for you ☺️

NWnature · 20/04/2020 21:43

Hi @herondaleducks ! Welcome!

So many FTMs here I hadn’t realised- so nice to be amongst you all. Daffodil

Thanks all for the cream tips (sorry am terrible at @ people on my phone). I have bio oil and also some Weleda oil which is nice. Will keep using those when I remember.

I really hope my bump starts hardening up soon, I am just one giant squidge at the moment.
