I’ve been awake on and off throughout the night, have no idea why either. Brain seems to be in overdrive.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who hasnt told work I'm planning to tell them towards the end of may shortly after my 20w scan for many reasons. Unless I'm back to work before then because I'm obviously showing now. I'm quite short with a lower back curve which has made my belly pop. Back pain is pretty hard so going to ask the midwife about that.

After a couple of confusing calls with he hospital yesterday I finally have a midwife call today so looking forward to getting some answers now.

By the way H&M look good and cheap for baby clothes. We arent finding out the sex soooo I'll be going out shortly after baby is born, which gives us longer to save. Not that we're saving much at the moment....its all going on food!? 😂

I felt a strange flutter last night, hoping that may be the start, if I'm offered a heartbeat check I am definitely going to take it, first time mum I need all the reassurance I can get!

@Quiffy how did you get a video ? I love that both of you have different feelings that’s the same as me and my DH.

@Indigogirl88 I was meant to have my midwife appointment today - however randomly they called me yesterday and just went through my bloods . They aren’t taking any face to face so I couldn’t even hear the heart beat . I’m scared to tell work until my 20 week appointment. There’s always a little what if in the back of my mind ...

I really can’t wait to feel flutters and kicks . I am a carbon copy of my mum and she said she didn’t look pregnant till about 6 months and that we were all very small . I’m not showing that much during the day - but by the end of the day my breasts feel really heavy and full and belly just looks bloated .

@zaalfruit the sonographer let me take a little video at the end for my DH to see. I don't think a lot of places allow it though. Oooh I'm not sure from your photo, I kind of want to guess boy but I'm not sure why!

It's fun that we both have a DH thinking different - it will be exciting to see if it's us or our husbands that will be right!

All good today at the 16w mw appt. Baby still in there and hb galloping away at about 160.
So pleased for the reassurance. I dont see her again until 28w now, but she empathised any issues or if I want to see them more just to ask as they are keen to do whatever we want.

My best friend is having her 20 week scan today, can’t wait to hear what she’s having!

@Quiffy was nice they let you take a video, ours had a strict no policy which was a shame for my husband.

@LexiM it's so hard when different areas are allowing or not allowing certain things. I saw that Russel Wilson (NFL QB) was in the news for 'only' being allowed to Facetime for his partner's scan. It made it sound like this was awful, but most places here are refusing Facetime and only a few places allowing video at the end. So really, he got a lot more than most men atm.

@Zaalfruit I've booked a private scan for this weekend. It's been nearly 4 weeks since my last scan and still 3 weeks to go until my anomaly scan. Also feeling a bit paranoid as I'm nearly at the same gestation as I was in my last pregnancy when I lost my daughter. So a bit of reassurance would be good.

I would love a private scan to make up for DH missing the 20w scan. Unfortunately we cant get one as we cant take DD with us and obvs cant leave her with someone else.

But I know I'm really lucky to have had the 16w appt, and I've only got 3w to wait for the anomaly scan.

So good to hear from you @SkyBlue20, hope today goes ok ❤️. Yeah it’s frustrating that it’s all different wherever you are. I’ve got 5 weeks to wait now, it’s a long time! Would be so reassuring to hear HB between times xx

Hi, I'm due in October but will more likely be a Sept birth as never gone full term before. Have had six children 3 c sec 3 natural, two of my children were born still due to hydrops. I had a miscarriage last May and I am currently 12/13 weeks gone now. So nervous as have scan tomorrow and am just on pins. Congrats to you all and your scans are lovely. I had one a 6 weeks and like I say have another for tomorrow, then will be scanned every other week until I give birth. Not decided if I want to chance a natural as my last natural was my baby girl who died during birth. Nice to meet you all.

Oooh @Zaalfruit, I cannot fully decide but I think girl!

That's me all booked in for medical management on Sat morning for the initial tablets and then back Monday for the rest of them and will be admitted in to the hospital for the day then, which is a bit of a relief - not ideal that husband will likely not be allowed in though. It's my birthday late next week so just hoping I'm feeling better by then - not that I have any exciting plans apart from sit on my couch and drink wine 😂

Anyway, don't want to bring the thread down! How's everyone doing today? I'm attempting to get some work done but it's not going very well, I mainly just want to be sitting in the garden, it looks lovely out there (albeit very windy!)

Mine was a call today and I got really upset as dp was saying I was being a bit precious as I wanted to have a heartbeat check. She was good though and answered all my questions but I don't feel massively reassured, I may book another private scan as well

I'm not top bad today other than that on a sickness level but craving an ice lolly

@SkyBlue20 Glad you’ve got some dates/a confirmed appointment for it and I really hope that you feel better for your birthday. ❤️ I feel for anybody with a birthday now, you will definitely have to have an extra birthday later!

I’ve had a productive day today, sorted out bits in my bedroom and had a hoover, it was long overdue! My bedside draws were just full of rubbish that doesn’t need to live in there. The poor house has been neglected recently.
My friend is having a girl and she is thrilled, she already has a little boy. Makes me so excited for her but also to get to our scan now to find out!! She said I can have all her boy ish baby clothes if we have a boy. 😂

@babymama09 welcome to the group. I don’t really have any advice but would go with your gut feeling and advice from the hospital. Glad they are monitoring you closely. Hope your scan goes well tomorrow.

@Indigogirl88 I think everyone is allowed to feel how they want about maternity care at the moment and your feelings are valid. My husband says it’s not hard for me because I still get to see the baby on scans and he doesn’t but I do still wish he could come and feel sad for him.

@LexiM Definitely planning another birthday - we had a really fancy meal booked next weekend for it (that we had to book four months in advance!) but obviously that's been cancelled so will definitely reschedule and re-celebrate then. It's my friend's 30th on Monday, I really feel for her, she had so many lovely plans!
Sounds like a productive day, good work! My house is in desperate need of a clean, it too has been quite neglected.

And I’m just a wine-gum-eating machine these days. Know a few folk on furlough and so jealous - working full time at home is not parfait just now when there are so many Cpt America movies I could be watching 🤩

@SkyBlue20 glad you have your appointments now. You've had to do a lot of waiting, which I can't imagine helps a lot with trying to process the loss, but nearly there now.. ❤️ Hope all goes ok at your apps. And that you still manage to have a nice birthday. The fancy meal will be enjoyed all the more when you do finally get to have it, no doubt!

@Glitterbug86 The person doing my scan was so moody - I felt so uncomfortable the picture provided was so pants I just meekly accepted it . He didn’t offer me if I wanted to pay for more pics . Deffo want to book another scan - but need a lift from my husband and he is being so annoying about it .

@otterbaby I feel like my 12 scan was so long ago and I have 5 weeks till my next scan seems soooo far away ! Yay for booking your scan .

@babymama09 Welcome - have you spoken to the midwifes in terms of options , pro and cons but yes deffo go with what you feel is best . It’s my first time so I can’t give you much. But best of luck sending you lots of positive vibes .
