Is anyone else getting big already? I'm 15 weeks and showing well, this is my second baby. Wondering whether anyone else is finding the same? I'm not huge but a proper pronounced bump which people seem surprised about

Treaclepie19 · 12/04/2020 08:58

@blankiesandunicorns yep! The past few days I've really noticed that there's a real bump shape going on. I'm bigger anyway so doubt anyone would notice. Not that I'm seeing anyone 😂

Quiffy · 12/04/2020 09:04

@Spark27 that deserves all the smug. I hope you got to enjoy it to the max when he got up.

@LexiM thank you! I was sick again yesterday, it had been getting better but now bad again. Hopefully the last surge before I feel better!

@Mum2Bump welcome!! It's such an exciting time 😍

@Zaalfruit I didnt last long without them. Need that little caffeine kick and the bubbly taste 😋

@Indigogirl88 really bad with spots right now. I like the witch Hazel stick for drying them out in the places I can reach. Anyone know about how to get your back?

@couscousevaporator ooooh that's so good, hope it's the glow hitting 😻😻

@blankiesandunicorns same as @treaclepie19 there's a nice rounded bump but I think people would think it's cake. Least we're all inside having secret Kylie Jenner babies 😹

Hormones are high today. I got excited cause it's egg day and I have lots of eggs - plus egg shaped chocolate tastes amazing and I always kill my diet at easter. Then I remembered I hate chocolate now and cried. Over chocolate. Like a psycho.

Indigogirl88 · 12/04/2020 09:13

Thanks for the skin tips ladies, I'm going to add a small amount off tea tree to my usual cleanser and I'll report back!

No not found a sling yet but it's a rainy day search for me. Going to try and enjoy the weather for now like @CouscousEvaporator says living for the now!

Bump is well and truly there but I just feel fat right now haha. Bring on the easter cake!

LexiM · 12/04/2020 09:17

@Indigogirl88 my skin has been odd. My face was really good at first, now it’s dry and I’ve got spots on my back which I haven’t had for years. My hair does get less greasy so I guess that’s something! I don’t feel any “glow” yet!

@quiffy hope your sickness continues to ease again. Mine did exactly the same, I’m currently in a good week but don’t take it for granted. It’s so tough and the chocolate thing was definitely me a couple of weeks ago! Save it and you will be so happy when you like it again 😄

Spark27 · 12/04/2020 10:49

I made the most of the smug, and had a 90min nap yesterday. I dont feel like I have the 'glow' yet, but not sure if its down to the fact that I'm just vegging out all day. My hair seems ok, and my skin is so much better than it was. Nails seems to be growing quickly, but then I'm cutting them back cos of the virus.

I'm not sure on the bump. I seemed to have one a few weeks ago but feel like its turned back to being wobbly. I have a very low down hard lump that could be baby. Not sure if that's the same as last time, or if it feels lower as muscles aren't as good? Also, anybody else feeling pressure down there? If I stand for a long time I feel pressure in between my legs. Not sure if its cos it's my 2nd so muscles aren't as tight, or cos I was cut last time? Making sure I do a lot of pelvic floor exercises

Treacle81 · 13/04/2020 08:09

Morning girls! That’s me 15 weeks today and defo noticing nausea is calming (well in morning). Hopefully be able to start back my morning gym sessions ASAP 🙌🏻. Only been managing an hour walk up to now. Hope you are all well xx

@Treacle81 snap on the 15 weeks!

@LexiM ahhh I’m really hoping it’s soon. I read 16 weeks in the average so 🤞🤞 I’ve told DH that if he touches my eggs he loses a finger so I’ll have them for when I feel better 😁

@Spark27 not had that myself but sounds uncomfortable. Hope it gets better soon

blankiesandunicorns · 13/04/2020 08:50

@treacle81 you have had it bad having nausea until now, poor you! Hopefully you can enjoy it now.

Treaclepie19 · 13/04/2020 09:02

Glad to hear that @Treacle81!!
I thought mine was going too but I've been heaving all morning again 😔 Only 14+5 so maybe it'll disappear.

Treacle81 · 13/04/2020 11:00

Thanks girls! Yeah @Treaclepie19 🤞🏼xx

@Treacle81 snap, 15weeks today and I'm slightly sick on an evening around 9pm but its eased a lot. I managed a yoga session yesterday and I'm so happy!

I'm getting a bit worried though as a lot of people arent having their 16 week appointments, I've still not had a call from my midwife so I'll leave it till Thursday then chase them up again. Being a first time mum I definitely want to see or even have a chat with my midwife on the phone. I was told at booking that I'm meant to be consultant led but not had a call about that either so I assume they dont need me to be consultant led, but nobody's told me anything! Cant wait till this is all over and we can go to some sense of normality again

BntTowers · 14/04/2020 09:34

Morning, I hope everyone had a good Easter weekend.
@Indigogirl88 I got told my 16 week one will be over the phone, by booking in one was on the phone as well. Give them a call and chase them. I know they are busy but it is a bit concerning to be a first time mum and feel like you aren't getting all the information because it's easy to miss things over the phone. I had to pick up a couple of prescriptions a few weeks ago and I hadn't been told that you are exempt from paying when pregnant, but because I don't have my exemption card I had to pay. Wasn't too happy about paying nearly £20 for folic acid and aspirin!

At work we've just had an email round saying some of us will the furloughed and will find out who by noon today, so I'm waiting to see if I'm included in that or not...

Zaalfruit · 14/04/2020 09:48

Good morning everyone ,

Hope everyone had a great few days off !

Spend the last 4 days tidying every part of our home! Over two years I’m not sure how we accumulated so much junk.

I have an appointment on Thursday for my 16 weeks but I’m going to call up tomorrow to double check that they have my correct number for the over the phone appointment.

@Indigogirl88 I was told I will be consultant led - however they haven’t provided an appointment, I do feel that my healthcare have placed a lot of us on a back burner and forgotten how hard it was to get pregnant for some of us. I really want normality back !!

CouscousEvaporator · 14/04/2020 10:12

Hi all, I’ve been informed my 16 week and 24 week appointment will happen by phone, and that my urine and blood pressure check will happen at my 20 week scan x

Hope you’ve all had a lovely long weekend

Treacle81 · 14/04/2020 10:21

Morning girls! Yea I called them last wk as hadn’t heard anything and they just did my ‘16 wk’ over the phone. It was just to tell me results of blood tests and screening done at the hospital and to book in for next one after 20 wk scan which is 24 weeks, where they will listen to heartbeat and do another blood/urine test. So defo give them a call xx

OP posts:
CouscousEvaporator · 14/04/2020 10:27

This is what’s worrying me, 16 week by phone I get, but to not do my 24 week one? I was under the impression they would measure me and use a Doppler, but I won’t get that until at least 28 weeks!

Lucylou37 · 14/04/2020 11:05

Hi all I have an appointment next week, at a local GP surgery for my 16 week appointment! I haven't heard anything else, so assuming it's still going ahead! Still not received a letter with my screening test results, and it was nearly three weeks ago! Anyone else is the same position? Trying not to overthink xxxx

Treaclepie19 · 14/04/2020 11:17

@Lucylou37 id ring them and ask, my doctors surgery isn't even unlocking the door unless there is an appointment that can't be done over the phone.

I'm speaking to my midwife tomorrow for my 16 week appointment (I'll be 15 weeks). 20 week scan is at 17+5 to give us chance to check the babies heart properly and still book in an amnio if we want to.

BntTowers · 14/04/2020 11:43

I would give them a call, last time I only found out it was a telephone appointment a couple of days before, but that was when everything was changing quickly.

@Lucylou37 I'm not sure if it's the same everywhere (probably not) but at my screening last week they said I'll get a call next week if something isn't right and a letter 2-3 weeks after if everything is ok explaining what the results are. So hopefully due to no call and the letter maybe just taking longer than usual through the postal system you are all good. Did they give a timeline for you when you had your screening?

Lucylou37 · 14/04/2020 11:49

@BntTowers my midwife team are so hard to get hold of! You call all the numbers and they either are engaged or just ring out! It's really frustrating as you feel a bit alone! I just spoke to the clinic directly and they said they think the appointments are still happening! At my scan they said it will take three weeks, so i guess i need to be patient until Thursday! Hope you're well and you're having a good second trimesterSmile counting the weeks to twenty weeks scan xxxx

Treacle81 · 14/04/2020 11:49

@Lucylou37 yea I think you’ll be given results at appt, I was told on phone call. If it was anything concerning you’d of had call within 3 days of scan I’m sure xx

OP posts:
Treacle81 · 14/04/2020 11:52

@CouscousEvaporator haven’t you been given 24 wk appt? I was given date for mine during that call for my 16th wk. Mine is 11th June when I’ll be just under 24 wks xx

OP posts:
BntTowers · 14/04/2020 12:05

@Lucylou37 that's so frustrating, I haven't tried to get hold of them yet as I only got my green notes with their numbers on Thursday, I'm sure you'll get your results soon. I'm sure they will get mentioned at your appointment anyway.

I told a couple of people on my team at work today so it's nice to start telling people. I'm ok, still bad headaches and dizziness, only occasionally feeling sick at the moment.

CouscousEvaporator · 14/04/2020 12:10

@Treacle81 not yet - I haven’t had my 16 week yet. It was just a phone call to let me know the plan of action, which I appreciate. I find out next week.

Just frustrating knowing I’ll be third trimester before I see my midwife!
