@FilthyforFirth I went on a full bladder but ended up having an internal one, so I went to the toilet there. Better go full as well ;)

toastwillsavetheday · 13/04/2020 21:16

@Hancock2020 - I'm sorry you've had to go through all this. I hope you have an easier time ahead with your pregnancy. I'm glad everything is fine after your scan.Smile

excitednerves · 14/04/2020 03:36

So sorry for everyone struggling with bleeds & pain. Pregnancy is already such a worrying time, plus COVID19, and now not even being able to get a scan to know if everything’s ok or not. It just feels cruel.

Keeping everything crossed that we all get through this. Xxx

LozEliza · 14/04/2020 08:42

Sorry to hear some are having such bad experiences with scans etc it really is awful.

Congrats to those who've had positive scans.

I'm 10 weeks today and starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel with morning sickness. Although I have literally just thrown up, the past couple of days I haven't been experiencing all day nausea and that overwhelming feeling off balance, which means I can have moments of 'normal'. My sense of smell seems to have died down so I can eat more. I usually physically throw up in the evening but I think I got a bit cocky this morning and tried to do too much before I'd eaten.

My app does say the placenta will start to take over now so fingers crossed the symptoms will start to ease now 🤞🏼. Also the midwife said on my booking appt that I will most likely now have a few good days then maybe a bad day then a few good days again.

Hope everyone else who has been suffering feels better soon. Just desperate to get my scan date now!

Rainbowafterthestorm · 14/04/2020 08:56

Hi @LozEliza, I was ten weeks yesterday so I think we are due similar days. Although I’m not 100% sure of my dates as I had a v.early miscarriage in Jan, so I never really had a last period as such. I had a scan at the epau the other week and apparently my dates may change but just by the odd day.

I’ve been quite lucky, I’ve never actually been sick. I just feel sick after every meal. I get tummy ache every sort of 3 hrs which subsides when I eat and then after I eat I get waves of nausea. But these are seeming to be less and less this week. I’ve had a couple of fainting episodes though, which scaredthe OH a lot. I told the midwife and it’s apparently normal. I’m just glad I’m not a work as I would have been trundled off to a n e by the first aiders every time it happened.

I’m glad it’s not just me that’s not had a scan date letter yet. I was beginning to worry that I’d be forgotten in all of this chaos. :)

anon5555 · 14/04/2020 09:43

Thoughts with everyone having a difficult time, so sorry

SqidgeBum · 14/04/2020 10:10

@Hancock2020 I am so happy for you! Great news!

@LozEliza I have been the same as you. I am 10+3 and my MS had been easing for a few days and then coming back (but nothing like 6/7 weeks) since 8 weeks. I am currently on day 2 of feeling sick again, after 4 days of feeling almost normal. It's getting easier. Just when I feel normal and worry, I get hit with MS again. It's a bit of a rollercoaster.

ParisInTheSpringtime · 14/04/2020 10:50

Hi all. I’ve just been for my Harmony test at the Kensington Wing (the private bit of C&W Hospital). It was all very easy, felt very safe and was done quickly and efficiently. Would recommend for London peeps looking to have the test. Now we bite our nails for a week waiting for the result...

ParisInTheSpringtime · 14/04/2020 10:51

Also, has anyone else had round ligament pain starting? I’m pretty sure that’s what I’m feeling. But I thought it came on a bit later (I’m 10+3).

burntpinky · 14/04/2020 11:31

@Parisinthespringtime - yes, fit a few weeks now - has started v early!

Anyone else a blubbering wreck at the minute? Crying eyes out all the time

ParisInTheSpringtime · 14/04/2020 11:43

Thanks @burntpinky. When it started I thought it was something sinister, as it feels odd. I guess as a first timer my ligaments haven’t needed to stretch before, so maybe that’s why I’m feeling it quite early.

AnxiousLady1 · 14/04/2020 12:06

@Rainbowafterthestorm I didn't receive my letter either (10+4 today), so I called my midwife and she checked this for me. Called me back within 5 minuts and confirmed my blood test and scan appointments are both booked in next week. So I'm glad I checked. It's just another little hurdle to make it to. Smile

@ParisInTheSpringtime I have had this too!

Sakura54 · 14/04/2020 12:14

Aw @Hancock2020 that’s lovely!

Soon we will all have our dating scans and can compare notes! So apparently my hospital website says that partners are not allowed to anything, but they will give free scan pics. Better than paying a fiver for flimsy pics like last time I guess. Also when it’s time to go home, partners have to wait on the ground floor!

I really hope by the time we have our babies, partners will be allowed to stay with us. I don’t fancy being on my own. Last time I stayed in hospital for a few days and DH slept in the chair lol and looked after DS while I slept most of the time...when we left, I had DH plus my brother carrying bags, baby and pushing me in a wheelchair so.... Confused

@ParisInTheSpringtime I think the ligament pain has started with me (10+2). I was suffering last week but thought it was digestive (trapped) as it even hurt lower abdomen and hip to pee but that's disappeared now and the achy hip bit is still there. Fun times!

Nausea and sickness have heavily subsided over the last week or so until I woke with a banging headache and nausea today. Gutted.

FilthyforFirth · 14/04/2020 12:51

I have my scan in a few hours, feeling very anxious though am very sick and sore boobs still so hoping those are good signs.

Not sure I will manage a full bladder but thanks @canueve. Got a horrible conference call I need to lead at 1. Am hoping and praying I am not sick during it. Wish me luck ladies...

ParisInTheSpringtime · 14/04/2020 12:56

Good luck with both scan and call @FilthyforFirth

seventhrow · 14/04/2020 13:27

Hello everyone - glad to read that many people’s MS is subsiding and @parisinthespringtime glad you found somewhere for the Harmony scan. Fingers crossed for those having pains and bleeds.

I’ll be 10 weeks tomorrow and the 12 week scan seems ages away. I keep getting worried that something’s wrong because my MS was worst at 5-7 weeks and now is manageable, I’ve only put on 1lb (if that! 1lb can fluctuate either way, and when I lie down and have an empty stomach I can feel a slight bump but it’s distinctly on the right hand side. Could very well be to do with my insides all rearranging themselves. But it makes me worry that actually I’m ectopic, it’s a bump in the wrong place and it’s going to blow at any moment. Unfortunately I can most feel it at 4am after peeing which isn’t great as then I spend 2 hours worrying rather than sleeping. Sigh. It’s probably fine I guess.

burntpinky · 14/04/2020 13:44

@FilthyforFirth good luck with scan

Pcosandpregnant · 14/04/2020 13:50

Does anyone else get uncomfortable sitting down? I’m 8 weeks today and I have to sit with my legs out in front of me otherwise I get mild cramps and heaviness “down there” as soon as I move it completely goes.

SqidgeBum · 14/04/2020 14:00

@seventhrow that a sounds very normal! We shouldn't gain any baby weight in the first trimester (I have actually lost 4lbs from puking), and the bump being on one side is normal. Baby will be sitting on one side (for me, my babies sit on the left side of my abdomen). I have a pretty solid bump now, so much that I am starting to get to the point that I cant lie with my left side of the my abdomen under me. I have to bend my leg a bit. Also, MS easing down is happening for a lot of us. It can be worrying, but it's very normal. If you had an ectopic, you would be most likely having pain by now, so please try not to worry about that. But you sound exactly normal to me!

Pink15 · 14/04/2020 14:16

@seventhrow my morning sickness also seemed to be worse weeks 5-7 and now not as bad but equally not sure if it's just that I've learnt ways now to cope and manage it?

seventhrow · 14/04/2020 14:17

@SqidgeBum thank you so much! During the day I'm sure it's all fine, just residual doubts, but feeling the bump being in a strange place in the wee hours just wiggs me out - I'm exhausted enough as it is! Yes I did think it would be a bit late for an ectopic and I've been lucky not to have any bleeding or bad cramping. Phew!!!, thank you!

Pippop21 · 14/04/2020 14:21

Cant keep up with u lot! When did thread 3 start?! Loool

seventhrow · 14/04/2020 14:22

@pink15 for me it was exacerbated at 5-7 weeks due to jet lag from a work trip plus a cold. My body just completely freaked out.

It makes sense that we'd learn ways to cope... I've got better at planning snacks - and expecting to need one - whereas normally I'm a 3 square meals girl. Plus also paying attention to what my body wants and eating intuitively seems to help. Can't seem to shake the habit of making a cup of tea and being unable to drink it though... husband refuses to make me one now....

ParisInTheSpringtime · 14/04/2020 14:25

@seventhrow I haven’t put any weight on (in fact have lost a little bit) and I don’t even have the excuse of having morning sickness. I am eating like a pig, so am not too worried, and also taking pregnacare max to cover anything not coming from food.
