Another new thread for the Nov mums to continue our discussion!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Alice0108 · 30/03/2020 20:12

I'm in East Hampshire. Mine is tomorrow 8+2 and it will be done in person.

Sakura54 · 30/03/2020 20:12

Lol come on guys, the other thread isn’t even full yet!

@Hancock2020 well 1 positive thing about having your mum around is someone to help with the baby? She may not cook, but surely will help you right? It makes life so much easier when there’s more hands, that’s why we will be staying with my parents after the birth!

@Addler that's still fairly early and it can depend on how they scanned you and I would imagine the sensitivity of the equipment. I know it's much easier said that done when all you can do it sit at home and wait but try not to worry!

Hancock2020 · 30/03/2020 20:34

@Sakura54 there are 3 adults living in a 1 bedroom flat 😒

Hancock2020 · 30/03/2020 20:35

@Sakura54 it's all a very long, complicated story

SJC2489 · 30/03/2020 20:41

Hi everyone, I had a viability scan last week (8weeks) and all showing fine atm, it’s a relief after a miscarriage in December. I had my booking appointment over the phone today. Have to go for bloods and urine tomorrow. Midwife told me my scan is booked for 24th April and I will have to go on my own which is upsetting especially as our first baby but I understand why with what’s going on.
Hope everyone is ok and coping well x

somegoodnewsforonce · 30/03/2020 20:43

To those eating beige food and worried. I was so nauseous with my DS that all I could manage for 3 months was toast, potato, plain crisps, biscuits & pasta. No veg, fruit or meat as it made me sick.
DS (now 3.5) was and is a strapping, healthy boy.

Chuckem15 · 30/03/2020 21:04

Hey! Marking place on new thread

TangBloodyFastic · 30/03/2020 21:28

Place marking while I decide what beige food I will be rustling up tomorrow, this food aversion is a whole new phenomenon to me! So weird Confused

Workingmama1 · 30/03/2020 21:31

My booking in appointment is when I'll be 8 weeks but is as our local community clinic which is apparently now a CV testing unit! So I'm pretty sure it wont be happening there.
I had an early scan last week due to a bleed, was told I could have one person with me but no childcare meant inwent in my own, figure I'll probably be doing all scans alone as long as childminders and nurseries are shut.
Tiredness is still overwhelming but my new favourite thing is cheese twist breadsticks, they are amazing and taking the edge off the sickness. Shame I only ordered one pack in my Tesco order....

BabyKnighty1 · 30/03/2020 21:36

I seem to be ok with food just not the smell. Or even sometimes thinking about food makes me feel like I wouldn’t want to eat it ever again. But if it’s in front of me I’m ok. DH has been good, he’s cooking all of the dinners and making lunch which has been super helpful

canueve · 30/03/2020 21:40

@Addler do you have another scan booked or will wait for the NHS one? I thought I was almost 8 weeks hence I went, otherwise I'd have waited.

Addler · 30/03/2020 21:57

@canueve I haven't got one booked yet but I think I will, I'm not sure I could wait another 6/7 weeks to find out if there's anything actually there!

EleanorSaysFork · 30/03/2020 22:11

@HarrietM87 I take azathioprine and adalimumab for ulcerative colitis (but have had prednisolone in the past). It’s an added complexity to pregnancy isn’t it?! Hope you can do your booking appointment over the phone.

Wise0wl · 30/03/2020 22:39

Very glad I’m not alone with the beige food! Thanks so much for the reassurances (especially @somegoodnewsforonce )

Addler · 30/03/2020 23:17

The only possible symptom I've had today is an incredibly itchy left nipple?!

JJxo · 31/03/2020 00:17

@BabyKnighty1 I am exactly like you can’t face the smell or thought of food but still able to eat when it’s put in front of me!

I’m struggling to get to sleep recently but think it’s the nausea!

Ranoutofgoodnames · 31/03/2020 01:57

Hello! Less nausea more boob pain today 👍

Have my booking in appointment this week and haven’t heard it won’t be face time face may be I should ring them

Is anyone else using an app to track progress? I have what to expect when you are expecting but wondered if anyone else had any recommendations? xx

BeMorePacific · 31/03/2020 07:30

@Ranoutofgoodnames I’m using Pregnancy+, I used it last time and liked it.
There used to be a good nhs app (Ready, steady, baby) but that doesn’t seem to be available anymore xx

canueve · 31/03/2020 07:33

I use ovia pregnancy.

anon5555 · 31/03/2020 07:53

Marking place x

Fouryearslater · 31/03/2020 08:45

All the quease this morning 🤢

Those of you with children already, at what point will you tell them? It’s obviously too early now, but at some point I’ll have to stop lifting him (3 year old made of lead!). I figure they need some time to get their heads around it, but if it’s too early then it becomes a bit abstract?

ParisInTheSpringtime · 31/03/2020 08:51

Im using Flo but it doesn’t actually do much for the actual pregnancy

HarrietM87 · 31/03/2020 09:18

I like Pregnancy+ too. I used Ovia fertility to track my cycles so have Ovia pregnancy too but it’s quite American.

NoseringGirl · 31/03/2020 10:17

@Fouryearslater my kids are 6 and 3 and all going well, I'll tell them after the 12 week scan. They already asked if I was pregnant when I told them to be careful of my tummy when they were jumping all over me (it didn't help the nausea) but I think it's just in their minds because a close family friend is currently pregnant. I'm excited to tell them!
