Carrying on our discussion and hopefully having less of the nausea, morning sickness and sore boobs as the thread progresses!

Hey everyone! I’ve just turned 6 weeks and I’m in that stage of still being totally delighted, but the extreme tiredness and constant nausea and bloating (eating eases the nausea but I can only have a tiny amount otherwise I feel so full the nausea comes back) are making me a bit less thrilled and a bit more overwhelmed!

I’m currently working part time and finding even that very difficult. Hoping this is normal? Boobs are big and sore to touch but not too bad.

I’m still cautiously optimistic about the low risks of coronavirus causing issues, which is still the guidance from RCOG despite our being added to the vulnerable groups list. I’ve got a few pregnant friends and family members who are a bit further ahead of me and there has been lots of chat about staying safe, but I haven’t really been able to open up about it to anyone except my DH because we’re waiting a bit longer to tell people!

Hope you guys are all doing well; happy human-growing!

TangBloodyFastic · 17/03/2020 15:44

@bumble88 yes it's my first too ☺️

What supplements are people taking? Only talking folic acid at the moment.

canueve · 17/03/2020 15:44

all of you saying no symptoms makes me wonder, I have constant pain, most of the time barely there, sometimes more like a cramp, but I am always feeling something in my tummy.

I am currently waiting for a private clinic call back to book the scan for next week when I'll be 8 weeks and hopefully, everything will be ok .

ParisInTheSpringtime · 17/03/2020 15:58

@TangBloodyFastic I’m taking the pregnacare conception (we conceived so bloomin’ quickly I’d not even started the packet 🙄) and have pregnacare max for when that runs out. They are quite expensive but I am lazy and didn’t want to work out what else to take.

WildflowerPetals · 17/03/2020 16:03

@canueve I had light cramping a lot of the time between 4-6 weeks but I read that it can be a good thing as it’s just your uterus expanding. I still get it a bit now at just over 7 weeks but I’m trying not to worry about it 😊

ACatCalledLola · 17/03/2020 16:06

@TangBloodyFastic I’m taking the Waitrose own brand pregnancy supplements. They don’t make me feel sick like the pregnacare ones do. Cheaper too! Also extra prescription folic acid.

TangBloodyFastic · 17/03/2020 16:08

@ACatCalledLola we don't have a Waitrose near us

@ParisInTheSpringtime I'll order the pregnacare max and swap onto them. At least it's an all in one tablet so keeps it simple Smile

canueve · 17/03/2020 16:10

@WildflowerPetals
Same here, trying not to worry. I'm 6+4 but trying to be as relaxed as possible until my scan.

Pink15 · 17/03/2020 16:21

@TangBloodyFastic I'm taking folic acid and vitamin D the midwife actually rang me today to arrange booking and she just recommended these 2 - you can get them in a combined tablet :)

uisage · 17/03/2020 16:29

@TangBloodyFastic I'm just taking folic acid. The nhs just recommends taking folic acid and vit d: www.nhs.uk/news/pregnancy-and-child/pregnancy-supplements-dont-help-just-take-vit-d-and-folic-acid/ . I'll maybe see if I can find some folic acid and vit d combined, I know the midwife will give me some if I ever get to see her.

@canueve I have no symptoms yet. Last time they hit me at 6 weeks, I'm 6+1 and starting to get nervous. My private scan's been cancelled Sad.

I got told off by my boss for not coming into the office, so I threw the pregnancy bombshell at him. I also sent an email to HR. There's a lady in the office that's 14 weeks pregnant, she came out with 'I'm working from home for 12 weeks because I'm pregnant' on the morning call, but I can't make the same announcement. I'm just going to hope that no one questions my absence. It's going to kill me.

ParisInTheSpringtime · 17/03/2020 16:44

@TangBloodyFastic it’s actually three tablets a day Confused there are two vitamin, and one for oils. But I’m going to persevere with them as they don’t make me feel sick. They do need to be taken on a full stomach though.

LouLouP7 · 17/03/2020 16:54

Hi ladies,

Can I join please? I should be around 6 weeks today but I'm totally burying my head in the sand! I had a miscarriage on the 1st Feb and so got pregnant again without having a period in between but I'm completely petrified that things are going to go wrong again. Add corona virus to the mix too and it's a pretty scary time at the moment.

@littlegem84 I would love to join your Facebook group but I think I'll wait a little bit longer before doing so. I joined one for my last pregnancy and it was so heartbreaking having to leave when I miscarried. I don't think I could go through that again so soon!

Lovely to find a thread with ladies that are all at a similar stage 😊 x

AnxiousLady1 · 17/03/2020 17:00

@TangBloodyFastic and @ParisInTheSpringtime - I'm also taking Pregnacare Max. I was taking Seven Seas conceptions ones and then moved on to these when I got my BFP. I must say, trying to remember them is a task in itself. I keep them on the table to remember to take them with dinner, and I still managed to forget last night.

@canueve I've had more cramping on this one (than I did on last pregnancy). Like frequent mild period pain that comes and goes, and I just put it down to uterus expanding as others have said.

I booked in a private scan for Friday of next week. Hopefully it doesn't get cancelled.

TangBloodyFastic · 17/03/2020 17:01

So just found these and ordered them. 1 tablet is more appealing than 3!!
they're coming tomorrow ☺️

Sorry to hear about your mc @LouLouP7 burying your head in the sand may help you keep stress free? Seems to be working for me! Living in complete denial

Fearne18 · 17/03/2020 17:19

@anon5555 @AnxiousLady1 thank you so much. These threads are so helpful and useful. Im glad I have joined.

AnxiousLady1 · 17/03/2020 17:20

@TangBloodyFastic I took their conception range and was happy with them (might even say they worked Wink). I would have moved on to the Pregnancy range, but I had a lot of Pregnacare leftover from my MMC last year so I moved on to that instead.

@inahaze Thanks for adding the BBC Radio link. Just listened.

canueve · 17/03/2020 17:28

@uisage urgh! i hope mine doesn't get cancelled. i'm lucky I have 3 places near me I can book in case one goes wrong.

I hope your boss is understanding, I already work from home most days and agreed 1x a week from the office but I don't think I'll go next week, just waiting to see the news. I haven't told my boss yet, will try to wait as much as I can, she is usually abroad which makes things much easier for me.

canueve · 17/03/2020 17:31

@AnxiousLady1 thank you, it's my first after a long time trying so I am just all over the place.

I leave a water bottle by my nightstand and take pregnacare every morning, it's the first thing I see. If I put it anywhere else i'll forget too!

Niffler2019 · 17/03/2020 19:30

Hi ladies can I join? I got a bfp last week, I think I'm 4-5 weeks. I'm already stressed about not feeling any different except for a bit of bloating & slightly tender boobs. When I was pregnant with my dd I felt weird & went off loads of food before I found out. Then as soon as I got a bfp I was sick as a dog & had to go into hospital & be put on a drip. Don't know if it's just not kicked in yet (think I was about 6 weeks when I found out last time) or whether it's a bad sign. Add coronavirus to the mix & i'm a nervous wreck!!

SqidgeBum · 17/03/2020 19:31

Hi everyone! I was on thread one but have been quite busy with work so dropped off.

I am now 6+3. My MS was pretty bad last week and into the weekend, but is easing. I am still knackered and my boobs are still a bit sore, but the MS is definitely not as bad. Should I be worried? I felt horrendously sick on DC1 (but I was toilet training a puppy at the time, and working FT). I am a little worried my hcg is falling or that the decreased MS is a sign of MMC. Anyone find MS on DC2 better than DC1?

Herewegoagain56 · 17/03/2020 19:39

Hello I’ve just found out I’m expecting too so would love to join in. So far my only symptom is some light stomach cramping every now and then but I’m sure the morning sickness will come soon 😮!

ACatCalledLola · 17/03/2020 20:06

@SqidgeBum my sickness was awful with dd1. I was working full time and I felt hideous for 20 weeks. It was relentless. Dd2 was a breeze in comparison. Sickness was on and off and not so bad. Dh keeps reminding me that I spent a lot of time convinced things were going wrong because I felt ok. I think the difference was not working/commuting into London so I wasn’t so exhausted. I was absolutely sure that she would be a boy too because my symptoms were so different. This pregnancy is more similar to dd2’s but different again. I know I can’t tell you to stop worrying but really every pregnancy is different.

FireflyGirl · 17/03/2020 20:20

@SqidgeBum probably doesn't help, but with my MMC last year I had terrible morning sickness, so having MS, or not having it, isn't a reliable indicator.

MMC is actually pretty rare. I think the statistics on here are skewed, because (IMHO) people who have had a MC are more likely to seek out these threads, and other people who have experienced the same.

SqidgeBum · 17/03/2020 20:32

@FireflyGirl & @ACatCalledLola thanks so much for the reassurance. Its good to know it isnt always a bad thing. I think I expected this to be the exact same as my last pregnancy, but you are right, each one is different. I have now convinced myself its a boy too! Hopefully time will tell.
