Carrying on our discussion and hopefully having less of the nausea, morning sickness and sore boobs as the thread progresses!

@Pink15 that's a really good point and there's not much we can do about the situation so it's good to find the positives!

Congratulations and welcome to the newcomers!

MoreGinPlease2020 · 17/03/2020 13:09

@littlegem84 I'd be up for joining the FB group after my scan next Friday. Thank you for setting one up! Like others, I joined one last time and then had to sadly leave it but I was in touch with one lady up until recently so even then it brought me comfort.

Emelene · 17/03/2020 13:10

I've had to tell work today and I've been sent to work from home where I can. I'm a psychiatrist so can ring people to talk but a lot of my assessment is done on body language etc.

However my husband works in a school with more than 600 children... so surely he will get it and give it to me? Argh so confusing.

inahaze · 17/03/2020 13:33

@Bumble88 with my last pregnancy 5 years ago (I have a 4 year old), I didn't get any morning sickness until 6 weeks then it hit me like a steam train. Dreading it this time.

yeh @60sPony i feel the timing is totally surreal, but this is so fast changing and fast paced, who know where we will be at in 4 weeks time.. Hopefully some normality.

inahaze · 17/03/2020 13:35

hi @Emelene think i recognise your name from the conception talk threads! im a breastfeeding counsellor and we have shut all our face to face groups, we have set up on zoom instead which is working really well

TangBloodyFastic · 17/03/2020 13:51

I can't seem to make it sink it that I'm actually pregnant. I don't feel pregnant and can't seem to make myself understand that it's really happening to me! I feel completely blasé which I feel odd about, is this just me or have others felt this way?

LynseyLou1982 · 17/03/2020 13:54

I'm working from home for the foreseeable now I think or at least the next few weeks. I've also brought my private scan forward to Monday from the 6th April.

LynseyLou1982 · 17/03/2020 13:57

@littlegem84 I'll join the Facebook group

Emelene · 17/03/2020 14:06

Hi @inahaze - it's nice when we recognise names isn't it! :)

So glad this board is friendly and moving fast to keep each other company in these early weeks!

EssentialHummus · 17/03/2020 14:06

@littlegem84 how best to get hold of you re Facebook?

inahaze · 17/03/2020 14:13

@tangbloodyfastic i felt this way last time until i was actually in labour hahahahahahhahaha

@Emelene when is your due date?

can someone remind me about when we are supposed to do the booking in thing with the midwife please?

ACatCalledLola · 17/03/2020 14:14

@EssentialHummus there’s a link a page or so back. Or I’m on it if you want to pm me your email

6+3 today and I’m finally starting to feel quite sick. All I’ve done today is play with kinetic sand and do some drawing with dd. Absolutely no idea how I cope with the sickness if they close schools and I have two children full time.

littlegem84 · 17/03/2020 14:14

I’m here: www.facebook.com/gemma.howe.12
If you add me, I’ll invite you to the group. Facebook is being slow at updating my contacts to add to the group so it might take a few hours once I’ve accepted you but I think I’ve got everyone who has requested it so far 😀

burntpinky · 17/03/2020 14:20

@FlashesOfRage GP gave me the same. I didn’t realise they were heavy duty.

I took first one yesterday arvo and then about 4 hours later had awful stomach cramps and diarrhoea. Was sweating too. Didn’t take any more and was ok overnight. Took one around 730 this morning and fingers crossed, seem ok. Just knackered.

Going to try to only take when really need to but have read it’s best not to leave unto you really need to!

Just hoping I’ve not caused it to stop developing by taking it and that that’s why I now feel ok!

Sakura54 · 17/03/2020 14:26

@TangBloodyFastic well I certainly feel pregnant aka I feel like crap lol but emotionally, I feel nothing. it’s just too early and we all know how common MC is...I’m just taking each day as it comes and hoping these torturous months will go quick. What I am scared of, I have to admit, is late MC/stillbirth, which is rare but a traumatising thought...

inahaze · 17/03/2020 14:30

i found last time that the more carbs i ate, the less morning sickness i had..... never ever get hungry, carb your way thru the first trimester!

burntpinky · 17/03/2020 14:36

@inahaze - has pasta for lunch and now obsessed with bread and butter!

Bumble88 · 17/03/2020 14:38

@TangBloodyFastic I feel the same! How many weeks are you?

Tonicandgin · 17/03/2020 14:39

I'd love to join fb, but I will after we've announced it. My kids and Mum don't yet know.

ohiwishyouwerehere · 17/03/2020 14:41

Is anyone not feeling too bad until mid/late afternoon?! I'm ok in the morning and through lunch but from about 4pm onwards I feel grim 🤢

TangBloodyFastic · 17/03/2020 14:45

Thanks @inahaze that's exactly what feel like is going to happen and I'm going to panic!
@Sakura54 that's kind of what I feel like, I feel cool as a cucumber which is not really like me which is why I think I must be in shock or is this my new attitude to life?!?! If so, I kind of like it 😀

TangBloodyFastic · 17/03/2020 14:52

@bumble88 I'm 4+1 so very early days. What about you?
I only found out a couple of days ago and we have fallen pregnant fairly quickly which, again, i didn't expect as I'm late 30's, thought it would take months!
Said to DH the other day "I didn't expect Christmas just gone to be our last as a couple" next Christmas is going to be a little different 😂 it just doesn't seem real!!!!!

FireflyGirl · 17/03/2020 15:01

I've had to 'fess up so I can work from home every day.

Also told family because I didn't want work knowing before them iyswim.

I'm feeling rough, though. Unless I eat, but I can't eat too much or I feel worse.

LexieBB · 17/03/2020 15:25

@inahaze - It’s funny as carbohydrates are what I crave most now. Went from eating predominantly protein and veggie diet to literally munching on bread whenever I can. All my healthy foods turn my stomach now. 🙃

Bumble88 · 17/03/2020 15:26

@TangBloodyFastic I’m 6 weeks today. I’m 31, but equally didn’t expect to fall pregnant as quickly as I did, just one cycle after an ectopic in December! Is this your first? This would be my first baby.

I was also thinking about Christmas and how exciting that would be, but I’m so nervous I can’t let myself think that far ahead!
