Carrying on our discussion and hopefully having less of the nausea, morning sickness and sore boobs as the thread progresses!

I’m not keen on a fb group personally - I joined Mumsnet because I like the anonymity. I hope the thread doesn’t die because of it!

canueve · 17/03/2020 09:45

Same...early days for me. I just want to get to 12 weeks soon, but I'll still be here on this thread.

MissSparkles81 · 17/03/2020 09:50

@anon5555 just reaching out as we are at the same stage! Ive been following the thread but been a bit reluctant to post as people seem that bit further along than me.

Also hyper anxious due to a mc in November.

MissSparkles81 · 17/03/2020 09:57

I would love to join a facebook group but not till after my 12 week scan. I threw myself into all the social media stuff last time and it was heartbreaking when I had to leave it all due to the mc.

Tbh I think I am still in denial about it all ... have to keep looking at the tests to remind myself its real 😂

ohiwishyouwerehere · 17/03/2020 10:00

@Caldey11 I'm not currently in the UK and we have private health care only here...just seems to be standard practice from what I can gather. On the downside, it is all doctor led delivery (no midwives in most hospitals), few antenatal type classes and only 40-45 days of maternity leave.

littlegem84 · 17/03/2020 10:03

Totally understand those who don’t want to join for anonymity reasons or before first scan. Personally I’ve joined this group because good or bad this time round, it’d drive me nuts not to be able to talk to anyone about it and no one knows IRL yet. We’ll all still get thread alerts so we can check in but the MN format drives me bonkers!

SecondSecret · 17/03/2020 10:09

@littlegem84 - just sent a friend request on FB :-)

AnxiousLady1 · 17/03/2020 10:28

Going to stay on Mumsnet for now. As others have said I like the anonymity at this stage, and I'm not actually on Facebook or other social media. Also have that fear of putting myself out there until I've passed that 12 week mark, due to previous loss. Happy to stay on here and converse with anyone else, but understand the need for a different format to keep up! Fingers crossed I will join you on FB in 5 weeks....

Fearne18 · 17/03/2020 10:38

Hi- I have been silently reading the thread for a few weeks and have found it so helpful. Nervously joining now. I am 6+2 and had a misscarriage in October so I am very anxious. I have had sickness and sore boobs which I didn’t have last pregnancy so hoping that is a good sign?
I am a mental health nurse and very lucky that I can work from home until further guidance about pregnant women from government.
Congratulations to everyone else due in November. Grin

Survivingmy3yearold · 17/03/2020 10:42

I've opted to stay at home. I work with special needs children who are not only vulnerable themselves but who like to lick and spit and can't cough and sneeze into elbows etc. I rang work this morning but had to leave a message as the phone lines were busy. I'm guessing quite a few of our parents will be keeping their children off school. They know I'm pregnant and have had risk assessments and initial paperwork so hopefully they'll be supportive

anon5555 · 17/03/2020 10:44

@MissSparkles81 great to e-meet you! Let me know when you get first appointment, I haven't had one yet nor any comms about one.
@Fearne18 glad you joined I felt the same when I did. Nice to have people to speak to going through the same thing :)

AnxiousLady1 · 17/03/2020 10:47

@Fearne18 - Congratulations and welcome! Many in this group have had similar experiences on last pregnancy and are equally anxious so you are in good company. Being able to talk on here definitely helps! My husband is jokingly telling me I need to limit my daily Mumsnet time Wink

inahaze · 17/03/2020 11:10

Can I join please?! Just got a BFP this morning which means my due date is end of November!!

Caldey11 · 17/03/2020 11:12

@inahaze huge congratulations to you!

inahaze · 17/03/2020 11:18

@caldey11 thanks, feels a bit surreal whilst all this coronavirus stuff is going on, it's not going to be a "normal" pregnancy is it?! When is your due date?

Bumble88 · 17/03/2020 11:32

Welcome to all the new joiners 😊 6 weeks today. Anyone else worried that they’re just not “feeling pregnant”...!?

ParisInTheSpringtime · 17/03/2020 11:36

Hi @bumble88 I still don’t feel pregnant (have posted before about my complete lack of symptoms). Had a scan yesterday and all fine though.

Caldey11 · 17/03/2020 11:36

@inahaze I think mine is 16 November but I'm not 100% sure. Mine is an IVF pregnancy (6 years TTC), to say that puts added pressure on things is an understatement. I know clinics aren't doing IVF cycles now so I pray this little bean stays with us.

Bumble88 · 17/03/2020 11:40

Thanks @ParisInTheSpringtime - I did see your earlier posts. I do have real fatigue and sore boobs, so at least there is something.

But you tend to think you “ought” to feel something when you measure yourself against other ladies! Lots of ladies say MS hit them at 6 weeks, when I woke up this morning and didn’t feel sick, I was worried!

I know we’re all different but I can’t help but worry. I’ll keep your story as a good reminder that things can be ok even without symptoms!

LexieBB · 17/03/2020 11:59

Hello ladies! 6 pages in to the new thread already! I have so much to catch up on.

@FlashesOfRage & @burntpinky - how are the meds working out for you? My first scan isn’t until next week and I plan to ask my ob about them then.

I have found that popsicles provide temporary relief. I found some low cal/low carb ones that do the trick since I go through so many a day.

60sPony · 17/03/2020 12:22

Hello, just placemarking on this new thread. Have to say I’m feeling very down about being pregnant whilst this virus is causing so much damage around the world and so much is so unknown. Really feeling like it’s the worst possible timing.

Pink15 · 17/03/2020 12:29

I'm also anxious about this virus like everyone else. But it'd be good if we focus on some positives too like a lot of people working from home or self isolating which means easier to deal with tiredness and sickness and having to make less excuses to friends and family as we probably won't see them as often! :)

Wise0wl · 17/03/2020 12:33

Hello all, just marking my place. Congrats on the recent BFPs!

I self-referred to the local midwife team last week and hadn't heard anything so called them yesterday and they said someone would call me either yesterday or today but I haven't heard anything yet... if I don't hear this afternoon is it fair to call them again tomorrow?! I don't want to seem pushy but I'd really like to get appointments in the diary!

AnxiousLady1 · 17/03/2020 12:41

@Pink15 Like you I am trying to take the positive from it. I'm WFH now, and the rest of my company is. I feel very lucky to have that option, as it not only stops some of my fears about travelling on London underground at the moment, but also means I haven't been forced into a position of having to tell my employers just yet.

On a separate pregnancy symptoms related note - anyone else suffering form the worst skin?! At which point do we push passed that and get to some sort of glowing stage?! Wink

Caldey11 · 17/03/2020 12:41

We are all anxious I know, I've just started listening to an album on Amazon music called "Zen Garden (Music for deep sleep, meditation, spa, healing, relaxation)" it is helping me to calm right down, I highly recommend it!
