Carrying on our discussion and hopefully having less of the nausea, morning sickness and sore boobs as the thread progresses!

@cmosh thank you! Scan went well, measuring 6 weeks (I thought 6+6 so close!) and could hear the heartbeat. I asked about my spotting and she said some women just have spotting/odd bleeds in their first trimester and not to worry unless it fills a pad.

Glad to see there is just the one baby in there as last night I had a very vivid dream I gave birth to triplets!!

Hope you’re doing ok 🙂

AnxiousLady1 · 27/03/2020 14:54

@burntpinky I'm same as you with dates and I am constantly hungry. But also sharing your desire for cheese and wotsits. I managed to get a shopping delivery yesterday and felt a bit of shame at the amount of wotsits, dairylea dunkers etc in there...

bluebell94 · 27/03/2020 14:58

Also starving. DH is making a cheesecake later and I'm going to bake some cookies. I could demolish a big bag of salt and vinegar crisps right now but we don't have any 🐷

mrsAndeke · 27/03/2020 15:00

@burntpinky we have same crazing at the moment white break (fresh) with lurpack and I have just eaten two packs of Watson's and having a jacket potato with cheese for lunch!

mrsAndeke · 27/03/2020 15:00

wosits*

MoreGinPlease2020 · 27/03/2020 15:09

Glad it's not just me with the extreme hunger. I think my fiancé thinks I'm being a pig but then he saw the look on my face when I demolished a bag of ready salted crisps. Absolute heaven. @mrsAndeke I'd kill for a potato with cheese but we sadly didn't plan for that when he shopped last.

I had my early scan yesterday. Measuring slightly ahead (8w 5d) so I'm over the emotional date hurdle I had of my last miscarriage. No doubt I'll start stressing again in a few days, but it was so lovely seeing the heartbeat after my last scan where they uttered those awful awful words that there's no heartbeat.

Good luck to all those with scans coming up and sorry to hear about those with bleeds. Thanks

burntpinky · 27/03/2020 15:11

Lol @ACatCalledLola @AnxiousLady1 @mrsAndeke - so weird! I wonder if the craving for cheese is for calcium? Can’t explain the wotsits however!!

I am just one fat biff at the minute.

ACatCalledLola · 27/03/2020 15:13

@AnxiousLady1 I need dairylea dunkers now!
@MoreGinPlease2020 that’s fantastic news.

ACatCalledLola · 27/03/2020 15:17

@burntpinky I bet it is the calcium. I’m craving cheese and fruit so there are probably some other vitamins that my body needs. After my scan on Tuesday I went straight to the M&S food shop at the hospital and bought some cheesy puffs. I never eat them normally! You lot are making me so hungry!

burntpinky · 27/03/2020 15:18

Another one which is good - ready salted crisps and pour a load of Worcestershire sauce on them - heaven in a bowl

BG1234 · 27/03/2020 15:22

Ready salted crisps with grated cheese. You’re welcome Grin

ACatCalledLola · 27/03/2020 15:40

@BG1234 I think the only crisps we have in the house are Pom bears. Pretty sure they would work though.....

cmosh · 27/03/2020 15:45

@Wise0wl so happy for you that the scan went well. I'm going to just hang in there and see what happens over the next few days.

This is exactly when my period would've been due so I'm just praying I'm one of those that just has breakthrough bleeds. Even with the coil, implant, constantly taking the pill I always had breakthrough bleeding so maybe it's something to do with that. OH is just saying don't worry, it'll be ok, he just doesn't get the anxiety!!!

Pink15 · 27/03/2020 15:46

Loving all these food suggestions 😂😂 I'm soooo hungry too but having to also eat cautiously Cos of nausea. Think it's getting to the point where DH and I will be having different meals for dinner!

Also totally random but has anyone else noticed their finger print not unlocking their phone anymore?! Is this pregnant related hahaha have my fingers swollen or something?? So confused don't know what else it can be 😂

Hancock2020 · 27/03/2020 15:56

@Pink15 OMG! Yes my phone isn't taking my fingerprint!

Wise0wl · 27/03/2020 16:00

@cmosh thank you so much, and yes - it sounds timing wise like it may well be a breakthrough bleed for you! I have everything crossed it stops and you have a more relaxed weekend. It’s so easy to stress (especially in the early days, but even more so with coronavirus!)

MysteriousSheep · 27/03/2020 16:18

@Bluebell2020 www.rcm.org.uk/media-releases/2020/march/updated-advice-for-pregnant-women-who-are-working-in-the-nhs-and-other-work-settings-during-the-coronavirus-outbreak/ here’s a link to the updated advice from the RCM - it definitely says pregnant women of ANY gestation should be given the choice whether to work in patient facing roles and that this choice must be supported by their employer. I would talk to your union if they are still insisting you go back to work on the wards. This guidance has been changed almost daily, and was more wishy-washy before so it could be that they aren’t aware of the most recent?
I would request an over the phone risk assessment and maybe forward them the latest info.
Best of luck!

FlashesOfRage · 27/03/2020 16:32

@burntpinky

am just one fat biff at the minute.

😂😂😂😂😂

Describes me to a T as well xxxx

burntpinky · 27/03/2020 16:41

@FlashesOfRage 😂😂😂😂😂

I’ve just found a stash of haribo I’d hidden for isolation. I think as having a “lie down” and DH came upstairs and caught me shovelling in almost the whole bag!

tabbycat985 · 27/03/2020 16:48

Does anyone know if you're taking pregnacare vitamins, are you also allowed to take calcium tablets alongside? There doesn't seem to be anything about calcium on the packet

Addler · 27/03/2020 16:58

@tabbycat985 My pregnacare tablets have calcium, I think it depends which one you have?

HarrietM87 · 27/03/2020 16:59

Checked with my hospital and they say they aim to get back within 2 weeks of self-referral, which is next weds for me, and that for second babies the booking appt will be by phone at 10-12 weeks. I assume they’ll give me a scan appointment at the same time. They’ve said women have to come alone to scans, which is fine as no one to look after our son anyway!

Pink15 · 27/03/2020 17:14

@bluebell94 yes I agree discuss with your union. In the first trimester there is no evidence of increased risk of miscarriage BUT there is proven evidence that prolonged high fever can cause birth defects - so with that evidence and the RCOG guidelines your work can't make you be on the front line?

Anon87 · 27/03/2020 17:58

A this food talk 😍😍😍

I was thinking that I've not had a certain craving but I am managing to shovel 2 rounds of really really buttery toast into my face everyday at 11'ses and tonight I can't wait for the mash with our tea because it's going to be really buttery....

bluebell94 · 27/03/2020 20:04

I am soooo bloated on an evening!
