Hi! Im about 4 weeks pregnant and have similar pain...I asked my OB for early scan, but she said that if the pain is not severe that it should be fine :(

Aiya18 · 25/03/2020 23:40

Hi everyone! I’m a new joiner (haven’t figured out how to answer to specific comment)
How normal is constant mild pain below abdomen? It goes away for 1-2 hours, but is present most of the day. I’m about 4 weeks pregnant. Thank you for your time and support.

canueve · 26/03/2020 08:08

Hi @Aiya18 just use @ and it will give a list of the people on the thread and you can tag who you want to reply.

For me it is normal to feel that, in the first 2 weeks I felt something in my tummy 24/7. I still feel something every day, sometimes for a few hours, sometimes the whole day. If it is more like an ache and something you can deal with, it's nothing to worry about.

2020f · 26/03/2020 08:10

Hi ladies, i got my bfp 17/03. This will be our first baby.

The only symptoms I've had so far is being really hot in the face. My face feels like its burning up, no temp though so hoping it's nothing to worry about. Anyone else experienced this?

Aiya18 · 26/03/2020 08:43

@canueve hi! thanks a lot for your reply.

Pink15 · 26/03/2020 08:58

@Audio30 yes I agree - my midwife said scan can be between 12-14 weeks!! But my booking appt is later than she said so I guess could even be beyond 14 weeks! I think if that's the case I'd go for a private scan!

@Hancock2020 I'd be more than happy for this nausea to be replaced by any other symptom!! For me nausea is the worst 🤢

HarrietM87 · 26/03/2020 09:17

I’ve still not heard from the hospital re my booking in appt...wonder if they are just really overwhelmed at the moment. I’m 7+1 today. Anyone else due 11 Nov?

Tonicandgin · 26/03/2020 10:05

My maternity unit has closed. For 6 months initially. They need the anaesthetists for work in ICU SadAll home births are cancelled too.

I gave birth there first time round and home birth with my second. Would prefer a home birth third time round but will see what happens.

My worry is my births are so fast, and I don't get regular contractions - it's sporadic and then baby arrives so how they expect me to do 45 mins travel and then find a maternity unit is beyond me. My second was a planned home birth, but tbh he would have been anyway!

Trying to stay calm...

BG1234 · 26/03/2020 10:23

Thanks for your reply @canueve
I think I need to have a little think and see how things pan out in the next few days. I do really want the reassurance after what happened last time...

SqidgeBum · 26/03/2020 10:29

@Tonicandgin that is quite scary I have to say. I am shocked at them just closing a birthing unit, and for such a long time too. Babies arent just going to stop being born. As someone who needed medical intervention with my last birth, that scares me big time.

LozEliza · 26/03/2020 14:42

I went for my early reassurance scan at the hospital today. All was well :) measured a few different sizes a bit smaller than I'd expected at first but then she got a 7+2 measurement which is exactly what I thought I was :). Partners were not allowed in the waiting room but were allowed to come in when you actually went for the scan which was a nice surprise. My appointment was over an hour late which they said was due to less staff on more cleaning etc. The sonographer did think that 12 week scans could be cancelled but she said I'd definitely have a 20 week scan!

SqidgeBum · 26/03/2020 15:03

Wow @LozEliza. 12 week scans cancelled Confused I think we all need to try keep calm and try to think of what we need. For me, I feel we medically need those tests for downs and FFA. The 12 week scan is amazing and lovely, and it does tell you that everything is ok or not ok, but it's just information. The pregnancy will go the way it goes irregardless of the scan. I know that's awful to think, but maybe we will all need to prepare for just sitting back and letting things take their course and hoping for the best. They didnt scan women (in my country at least) when my mother was pregnant on me unless something worrying happened. Its rubbish, and I want a 12 week scan, but I think, especially those of us who are low risk, we may need to mentally prepare to be put a little to one side medically. I am sure they will look after us if we need looking after, but reassurance just may not be something they are able to facilitate in the NHS at the minute.

LozEliza · 26/03/2020 15:28

Also just had a call from my midwife to say that my booking in appointment for the 9th will be telephone only - then I'll go separately for tests a few weeks later - then be invited for a scan. So she seemed to think scans were still going ahead. I guess no one really knows at the moment just have to see how it pans out.

burntpinky · 26/03/2020 16:32

Been told today my scan should be 6 April so not too ling away. My booking was meant to be 2 April and midwife rang yesterday to see if I’d be happy to do it over phone as it was “all straightforward” so I explained current situation and she emailed the consultant to find out when scan would be (which I thibk is what resulted in call from his sec today) so thibk they want to do the booking after that (which is fine by me as makes sense, particularly if they’re stretched) but then I’m not that bothered about booking appointment as been through one before and have filled in my own notes this time. But hoping (if all ok) to still be able to book Iona (privately) then have 12 week scan

Hancock2020 · 26/03/2020 17:03

Reading a lot of these posts I'm starting to wonder if maybe it might be worth me booking a private scan? I'll be 6 weeks on Monday, so would probably manage to get in at 8 weeks.
Any advice on whether this would be a good idea given current nhs situation Confused

holypoop · 26/03/2020 17:26

Panicking, I'm bleeding a little red blood so think I'm miscarrying 😭

Addler · 26/03/2020 17:33

@Hancock2020 I've been thinking the same thing, I'm 6 weeks on Tuesday and after a MC at 8 + 6 in January I'm worried enough without all the uneasiness of CV

Addler · 26/03/2020 17:35

@holypoop I hope that's not the case, Thanks

How much is it?

ParisInTheSpringtime · 26/03/2020 17:43

@holypoop I hope not xx

Hancock2020 · 26/03/2020 17:43

@Addler I'm just worried because I'm an "older" mum (even though I'm 35, that to me isn't old lol Grin) and my 1st pregnancy back in 2005 I had a miscarriage, but then I had 2 babies after. Maybe I'm just flapping for no reason? Hmm

ACatCalledLola · 26/03/2020 17:50

@Hancock2020 you are NOT old Grin
@holypoop some bleeding can be perfectly normal so fingers crossed it is in your case.

holypoop · 26/03/2020 17:54

It was red which I believe is the bad kind? Only a little seems to of stopped but maybe start again later? I've got no cramping, same kind of pressure I've always had. X

mrsAndeke · 26/03/2020 18:12

@holypoop I would definitely call your EPU or 111, better to be safe than sorry my love x

littlegem84 · 26/03/2020 19:02

@Hancock2020 for some reason, even though I’ve had no symptoms of miscarriage, I feel it is inevitable. I cannot shake the feeling. I’ll be 36 when/if baby arrives.

Luckyhuman2020 · 26/03/2020 19:04

I was bleeding a bit today, went to EPU coz was really worried after my last bleeding, the gynaecologist said he couldn’t see any pregnancy in the scan, am now 5+5, he said it could be a miscarriage 😭 the nurse took my blood and will have result tomorrow. Is it possible that there is nothing to see, not even the gestational sac, at this time?
