I just found out I'm pregnant & couldn't be more excited, I think about 5 weeks.
Still breastfeeding my toddler so if anyone has tips to ease my sore boobs, please send them this way😅😂
@Hancock2020 I've put on 5lbs this week because I cannot stop myself eating😳 Last pregnancy was the complete opposite as I had HG so I'm taking advantage of this!

wannabebump · 24/03/2020 09:11

My nhs early scan has been cancelled, I am trying to be ok with it... local providers of private scans all have messages on their website saying clinics closed Confused

holypoop · 24/03/2020 09:33

@wannabebump do you have a window to the womb clinic near you? They haven't cancelled mine as of yet. X

ACatCalledLola · 24/03/2020 09:34

Oh no @wannabebump. I have one this morning. I haven’t heard anything yet so I’m assuming it hasn’t been cancelled.

Hancock2020 · 24/03/2020 09:36

Should I be worried that I'm 5 weeks and have no sickness? Or is it just a bit too early?

HarrietM87 · 24/03/2020 09:41

My sickness has actually eased up over the last couple of days, so obviously now really panicking about that. I’m 6+6 today. I’ve got an appointment with my private doctor for next Thursday but it’s really far away and I don’t drive...will look into booking a taxi but think it’ll cost like £200 and I’m also worried about picking up the virus from it 😢

canueve · 24/03/2020 09:46

I hope not @Hancock2020 I am 7+4 and haven't had any.

2019Mama · 24/03/2020 09:57

@Hancock2020 I wouldn’t worry if I was you.. not all ladies have sickness. I never did with my first

LozEliza · 24/03/2020 10:08

@Hancock2020 my nausea didn't kick in until about 5+5 started v slightly in the evenings. Then came in with a bang from 6 weeks.

@wannabebump sorry to hear about your early scan that's rubbish! Worried about mine for Thursday.

wannabebump · 24/03/2020 10:18

@LozEliza mine was for Thursday morning x hope yours goes ahead xx

holypoop · 24/03/2020 10:22

@Hancock2020 I don't have any sickness either yet, I'm around 6 weeks but should know how far I am on Sunday when I've been to my private scan. X

ACatCalledLola · 24/03/2020 10:54

@Hancock2020 my sickness didn’t properly kick in until about 6+2. There’s plenty of time. You might be one of the lucky ones who doesn’t get it though.
@HarrietM87 can you do a telephone appointment with your doctor and book a private scan closer to home? My sickness was very on and off with dd2. One day I was worrying and the next I was feeling awful again. It’s perfectly normal for symptoms to come and go so hopefully this is the case for you.

holypoop · 24/03/2020 11:05

I've just received an email from window to the womb and they aren't cancelling appts, you can also take up to 4 people with you. X

bluebell94 · 24/03/2020 11:14

My local window to the womb are also staying open for diagnostic tests only so just no gender or 4d scans but only allowed 1 guest x

wafflewafflewaffle · 24/03/2020 11:17

Hey all, sympathy to those struggling with nausea/sickness. I am feeling constantly sick and can’t stand the thought of eating pretty much anything. I’ve also started being sick a few times the last couple of days, or dry heaving a lot when there’s nothing in my stomach. I wasn’t really sick at all with my first, just some mild nausea, so this has totally floored me and I feel the timing couldn’t be worse as it’s not like I can just take time off work sick to rest while we’ve got our 2 year old home now the nurseries are shut! Anyway, I know it will all be worth it in the end Smile.

Our private scan we had booked for the 28th has been cancelled and in our area they’re not allowing partners in for the NHS scans...I guess if that’s still in place by our 20 week scan then DH might not even see baby at all before it’s born - bit of a strange thought, although I suppose that was the case for everyone before scans became normal!

MrsAJKA · 24/03/2020 11:23

Hi all,
Have been lurking for a week now but I really need some advice from you lovely ladies.
I'm 6+4 today and booked my first appointment for when I will be approx 8 weeks with the GP a couple weeks ago but now they have said the doctors are not seeing anyone. They have advised me to do the self-referral online which I've tried to do but I don't know my NHS number so it will not let me proceed further, as I really have had no prescriptions/hospital appointment/letters over the years so don't know it.

Also, hard to contact the GP atm as the line is jammed with other callers.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated or anyone went through something similar. Thank you!

canueve · 24/03/2020 11:34

@MrsAJKA mine will now be a phone appt, you can try and book the same? I am hoping though they will take blood tests and allow me to have the 2 scans, even if my husband can't come with.

An idea would be that if you don't manage to get through them all week I'd go with a letter and drop it there and ask to be contacted.

MrsAJKA · 24/03/2020 11:39

@canueve I'm so new to all this that I didn't even know what a self-referral meant until this morning! I have made a NHS account on the app as I've read online you can find your NHS number on there. However, it take a couple of hours for your identification to be verified and in busy times like now, even longer! If that doesn't work I'll try the phone again and see if I can get through.

FireflyGirl · 24/03/2020 11:46

Our local hospital is still doing routine scans, but no partners are allowed. Some of the responses to the notice on Facebook are appalling! Apparently the nurses need to 'sort it out' before their scan next week, as they will be attending with their partners Hmm

I've not heard anything about my booking appointment next week, but I wouldn't be surprised if it's changed to be by telephone.

bluebell94 · 24/03/2020 11:51

My booking appointment is tomorrow morning and so far not heard anything different, I was expecting them to say they'd do what they could over a telephone appointment but so far still looks like I'll be going to the surgery for it all x

holypoop · 24/03/2020 13:05

Well I think I've jinx myself this morning saying I had no sickness..... the last half hour I've suddenly felt so nauseous 🤢 dam it 🤐x

Pink15 · 24/03/2020 13:16

I'm 5 + 2 and hungriness has been bad for about a week now but last couple of days it's associated with nausea too :( it's just a horrible feeling no matter what I eat I can't feel full!! Gonna try order some travel sickness bands and also heard sipping fizzy water can help so will try that.... any other tips?? Xx

SqidgeBum · 24/03/2020 14:24

@Pink15 ginger biscuits, sucking on hard boiled sweets, and just eating little often. Try to keep hydrated too.

AnxiousLady1 · 24/03/2020 15:15

@Pink15 I'm drinking fizzy water all day and have an assortment of mints to suck on. The hunger is still strong, but find after eating I feel nausea again. That's when the mints seem to come in handy.

Pink15 · 24/03/2020 15:45

@AnxiousLady1 @SqidgeBum thankyou will send my husband out to get some hard sweets soon! Hope you're both managing okay xx
