@Whoamieven and @canueve I am also booked in with Window to the Womb. I called them Friday and they were very confident all scans going ahead, and extra measures have been put in place to allow time for further cleaning between appointments.

bluebell94 · 23/03/2020 11:27

Mine is with window to the womb next week too. They keep posting updates saying as they're a diagnostic clinic they will remain open but have extra precautions eg less people allowed in with you x

Whoamieven · 23/03/2020 11:47

I would have to travel to a city for window to the womb one and I don't feel that's responsible given the current 'no unnecessary travel' advice. Mine would have been on my doorstep :(

Emmagen · 23/03/2020 12:08

Ah ha! Found you all again!

I managed to be in Cornwall last Monday with my 3yr old and my 79yr old Nan who doesn't know I'm pregnant. We came home early!

My booking appointment won't be until I'm 10 weeks as apparently our local midwife is off for an operation. So hoping my scan won't be delayed by that. I'm not having a private scan this time, we live semi rurally and don't want to travel right now. Plus I'm weirdly calmer second time around.

Not had many symptoms this time either although I can't remember exactly when my sickness started last time so that could start any day I guess!

I'm craving ramen though, like the cheap packets rather than the nice plain noodles I actually have. Pretty sure there are none to be had in the local shops though 😭

SqidgeBum · 23/03/2020 12:32

I am 7+2. I havent heard anything back from my GP or midwife. Anyone else in the same position?

holypoop · 23/03/2020 12:37

@SqidgeBum I'm around 6 weeks give or take a day or so, I sent my self referral off last week and still not heard anything either. I've booked a private scan this morning for this coming Sunday so at least I'll get to know something.

somegoodnewsforonce · 23/03/2020 12:42

I called the self referral number this morning and got an appointment for the end of April when I'll be 10 weeks

bluebell94 · 23/03/2020 12:46

My area have been really good, my GP surgery referred me on Monday and I got my appointment on Friday, for Wednesday this week. I will be 8+2 going off LMP but think I am slightly earlier than that due to irregular cycles x

Sakura54 · 23/03/2020 12:51

My GP tried to refer me, but it turns out I’m the only person who’s ever asked for a different hospital apparently, so who knows who they sent the referral to! After pointlessly waiting for one week, I referred myself in the end and got a letter a few days after for both the booking appt and scan.

SqidgeBum · 23/03/2020 12:54

I have just looked and my local hospital isnt on the self referral list. Not sure what to do. I sent in my form 2 weeks ago. I understand they are busy. I dont want to bug them.

HarrietM87 · 23/03/2020 13:39

I haven’t heard from my hospital yet either, but I only submitted the form on Wednesday. In the past I’ve had letters through within the week, but guess it could be a bit slower at the moment 🤷🏼‍♀️

canueve · 23/03/2020 13:40

hi @sqidgebum as you are getting to 8 weeks I'd go to the GP if you can, because if they are busy they might be able to only squeeze you in two weeks time by then you'll be at the time to do the blood tests for the syndromes and as the scan is between 10-12 weeks if that has to be booked at a later date it might take some time too?
I am sure they are busy, but surely being pregnant and being place as a risk case for the virus puts you in a different position?

SqidgeBum · 23/03/2020 13:43

Ye @canueve I have decided to just try to ring them. On their answer phone they have said they are refusing entry to anyone into the GP who hasn't got an appointment. I think all I can do is call.

SqidgeBum · 23/03/2020 13:51

They seem to have just turned off/not answering their phones. The number is not available one minute, and then the next minute just ringing forever Confused I can imagine they are just ignoring calls at this point

GB88 · 23/03/2020 14:13

@Sqidgebum i rang last week after not hearing back after 2 weeks of submitting my self referral aswell, it rang for ages and the other number provided was not connecting, i finally got through and the girl on the phone checked for me, my 12 weeks appointment date and time was booked in but she said i wouldnt receive the letter until 2 weeks before the appointment. So hopefully that's the same for you its booked in but you just haven't received confirmation yet, if you get through they might be able to confirm

NS34 · 23/03/2020 14:14

Hi all, can I join?

I think I am 6+3 with first baby but had a miscarriage in November at 8 weeks. Before my miscarriage I had 3 weeks of spotting and 2 scans both of which showed a heartbeat so I am struggling a little this time to believe that everything will be OK.

Wise0wl · 23/03/2020 14:14

@SquidgeBum could you call the maternity department at the hospital you want to be referred to and explain the situation? Good luck!

@HarrietM87 mine took just over a week for them to tell me my appointment time from when I self referred so it does seem slow at the moment (which is entirely understandable!)

NS34 · 23/03/2020 14:17

Oops clicked post before I meant too.

I was eligible for an early scan this time but have found out today that my local hospital are no longer seeing anyone unless it's an emergency given the current situation which I completely understand but it has made me a little more anxious. Going to try and book a private scan if they are still available

SqidgeBum · 23/03/2020 14:35

I got through to them. I was basically told to wait for a call. It could be as late as 10 weeks before I hear from the midwife, let alone get a date for an appointment. Not good, but not much I can do from the sounds of it. I am not a high risk pregnancy or anything. I am 29, healthy, no issues with my previous pregnancy. I guess I am bottom of the list.

AnxiousLady1 · 23/03/2020 14:43

@NS34 Many of us have been able to book private scans without issue, depending on where you are. If you are in London, Window to the Womb are definitely still taking bookings. x

BCJPNH · 23/03/2020 15:17

@NS34
Stay positive and strong! I’ve you are getting anxious about it, try and get a private scan. I have one on Monday that hasn’t cancelled yet. But also am booked in for one at EPU on Wednesday as have been spotting for 5 days now.
Good luck to you xx

TangBloodyFastic · 23/03/2020 15:54

Hi all,
Hope everyone is staying calm and trying to enjoy the beginnings of our pregnancy!

I took another first response test yesterday to check that HCG is increasing as it should and yes the line was very dark but the control line was barely there.
The test line came up immediately but the control line came up after a few mins.. it was like the test was working backwards as such - I was stood waiting for the control line to appear???? and then when it did it was really faint. Hmm
Has anyone else had this before? Was it faulty?

NoseringGirl · 23/03/2020 16:21

@TangBloodyFastic that's what is sometimes called a dye stealer! Just means you have a lot of hCG in your system! I'd take it as a good sign!

My midwife referral went in 2 weeks ago and I'm yet to hear anything. Will call if I've not heard by the end of the week.

TangBloodyFastic · 23/03/2020 16:31

A dye stealer?? 😂 well you learn something new everyday!

I haven't even spoken to my docs... should I be making an appt well in advance with the midwife? I'm also going for an NIPT so maybe I should think about booking in with them too? It all seems a little premature but I guess given the situation at the moment it's all a little crazy and I should maybe be a little bit more on the ball?

mrsAndeke · 23/03/2020 16:48

Does anyone feel like it's ages until 12 weeks so you can tell everyone, I'm 5+3, I feel like anything can happen between now and then and I am an anxious wreck!
