Carrying on our discussion and hopefully having less of the nausea, morning sickness and sore boobs as the thread progresses!

So my early scan went really well yesterday. Was a little bit sad that DH had to miss it to look after DD but it was so nice to see a really strong heartbeat flickering away. Measuring slightly behind my dates (6w5 rather than 7w1) But sonographer says that it's not unusual and they may even 'catch back up days' by 12w scan. Overall everything is looking great.

@AnxiousLady1 not great. Measuring fine and strong heartbeat but bleeding inside gestational sac. Apparently bleeding outside it is normal but not inside. Have docs at 9am tomorrow thankfully so hoping they will refer me but I’m not hopeful.

I’m 41.5 - this might be our last chance for number 2. Trying to see the positives but it’s very difficult right now

AnxiousLady1 · 22/03/2020 12:44

@burntpinky I'm sorry to hear that. I have not heard of bleeding inside gestational sac before. Will they be able to do something to stop the bleeding if you are referred? Don't lose hope just yet. Surely the fact that it measured fine and still had a strong heartbeat has to to a good sign.

And I certainly wouldn't assume this is your last chance because of your age. xx

holypoop · 22/03/2020 12:49

Still waiting on the self referral to get back to me, don't know if I can wait till the 10wk point for an appt, I just want to know exactly how far they think I am. Only told my mum and s best friend that doesn't live in the area, don't feel I can tell anyone yet tbh. The father still isn't talking to me but I'm set to doing this alone.
My boobs are so full and I'm constantly going to the toilet which I think my mates will start to think I've got a UTI the amount of times I'm going 😂 Sat round my mates dying for a wee but I've literallyjust been 🤦🏼‍♀️.

Does anyone know how much roughly private scans are? X

burntpinky · 22/03/2020 12:49

@Anxiouslady1 neither have I and can’t really find anything on the internet. Have sent report to my uncle who is a GP to see what he says and just hoping sonographer is wrong

He wasn’t very nice. We went to him when we had a scan for the baby we lost and he’s just bloody miserable. I will never go back there as think that place is a bad omen!

AnxiousLady1 · 22/03/2020 12:58

@burntpinky Yes I had a quick look online too and couldn't find any information on that. I would hold on to the positives for the moment, until you speak with the doctor tomorrow. I would have thought that the fact things are progressing normally otherwise has to be a good sign.

I understand what you mean about the sonographer. I'm not going back to the place I found out about my last MMC. I honestly think it made the whole experience 10 times worse. When booking my scan elsewhere for next week, I explicitly made a point of mentioning it in the booking notes, in the hope they will be more sensitive if worst happens again.

burntpinky · 22/03/2020 13:03

@Anxiouslady1 - I hope so but of course my morning sickness has now stopped!

Good luck with your scan next week, glad you are going somewhere different

burntpinky · 22/03/2020 13:23

I think I’ve found what it could be - a chorionic bump. This article suggests that all the other positives might mean it will be ok, if there is only 1 bump (which I’m not sure about at the moment).

@holypoop mine was £70

Hello ladies!
I hope this isn’t the wrong forum for this but I’ve been searching endlessly for somewhere to talk to someone.

I am due either the 3rd or 13th November. It’s a rough estimate as I have PCOS and am not sure when I ovulated.

I got my positive test result on 4th March saying 2-3 weeks then tested again a few days later with the same result just to be sure.

I had a miscarriage in October 2019 so am extremely apprehensive about this pregnancy. So I went for an early scan last Monday, only for them to tell me I was only measuring at 5 1/2 weeks, not the 7 weeks I thought I was. - this was the first feeling of doom, that something wasn’t quite right, but I looked at my Glow app with the sonographer which showed that conception could have been later than I thought. So we’ve rebooked a scan for the 30th.

After the transvaginal ultrasound, I started to have some slightly pink discharge, which went away for a day then came back as brown discharge. I called my GP who informed me this is quite common. By about 2 days later, the brown discharge had changed to more of a fresh blood, early period looking, still only on wiping but more than before. So I went to my GP and he checked my cervix and confirmed that it was closed.

I was reassured until this morning, the bleeding has increased (happy Mother’s Day to me!) to filling about half a pad an hour.

I am going to contact my GP for a referral to EPU tomorrow, to start HCG blood testing.

I’m very anxious and emotional. But also have to keep face for my 4yo son who I can tell knows something is up.

I’m a bit of a mess. Does anyone have any experience of bleeding early in pregnancy?

Thank you xxxx

BCJPNH · 22/03/2020 15:05

I paid £65 for an early pregnancy scan xx

spence93 · 22/03/2020 16:00

Has anyone else had any very light spotting?, I'm 5+5 and I've had very light brown spotting since I woke up this morning. No cramps and I still have my symptoms

bluebell94 · 22/03/2020 16:17

Well told my DM today - this will be her first grandchild and she said it was the best Mother's Day present ever, in the middle of her tears! Bit weird talking to her from the other end of the room as tried to keep a distance 😂 she is a midwife though so it's great for me and she already put some of my worries to rest. She knows the midwife I am having my booking appt with next week and works at the hospital I hope to deliver at so I know I'm lucky with that. Hope everyone ok today xx

somegoodnewsforonce · 22/03/2020 16:55

Hey!! Can I join?

I'm 32, have a DS 3.5yo and just got my bfp today after ttc for 15 months!

DH and I are over the moon Grin

Jazzeemoo · 22/03/2020 21:32

Super congratulations somegoodnews! :D

wannabebump · 22/03/2020 21:47

Congrats @somegoodnewsforonce x

I have an early scan at EPU on Thursday, I fear it'll be cancelled or DH won't be able to go so going to phone them tomorrow to find out all the info. Anyone else had a scan cancelled or had to go by themselves?

Also...the sickness has well and truly arrived EnvyConfused xx

littlegem84 · 22/03/2020 22:26

@BJCPNH I’m sorry to hear you are going through this.

Are you still bleeding? Could you contact the early pregnancy team? They might be able to scan you again? Unfortunately bleeding could mean something or nothing. I’ve got my fingers crossed for good news xx

somegoodnewsforonce · 23/03/2020 07:21

With DS my sickness didn't start til I was 6 weeks, got really bad around 8 weeks and tapered off about 12 weeks.

I've had a terrible cough / chest infection so I've been self isolating. It's taking me ages to throw off.

ParisInTheSpringtime · 23/03/2020 07:29

I told my mum yesterday, and she was very pleased. Helpfully, she said that she had never had any symptoms of pregnancy either! She never had any sickness or tiredness. So maybe it runs in the family. This makes me feel a lot better.

BCJPNH · 23/03/2020 07:54

@littlegem84 thank you x
I’ve contacted the EPU who say I have to be referred through my GP or come through A&E.
I’ve registered for a call from my GP who will hopefully be able to refer me for testing ASAP.
Really hoping to get checked out today.

wannabebump · 23/03/2020 08:48

@BCJPNH hope you get seen and tests today x

HarrietM87 · 23/03/2020 09:35

That’s good @ParisInTheSpringtime - you’re one of the lucky ones! I had no symptoms with my son and it turned out I had v low hcg (in the normal range but only just). This time I’ve had nausea and tiredness and sore boobs...wondering if it’s a girl this time!

Whoamieven · 23/03/2020 10:22

They've cancelled my private scan :(

BCJPNH · 23/03/2020 10:34

@Whoamieven oh no 😢 I really hope this isn’t going to happen all over. Have you tried any other clinics? Xx

canueve · 23/03/2020 10:47

@Whoamieven I am not sure how good they are, but I am having my first one tomorrow with window to the womb, they have lots everywhere and said they will not be canceling aptts. Hopefully, there is one near you?

Mine is 35 min away, but I am too anxious to wait for the appt next to my house next week ( which I will probably cancel)
