@Whoamieven I am a teacher and have been told to stay at home. However I already have a cough, so I am distancing myself from people for their sake rather than mine. We are still going for walks every day, but we are keeping it rural. Friends have been to the shops for me. I dont think I can stay in for 12 weeks (my 15 month old is driving me insane already. She is incapable of entertaining herself) but I probably will keep myself away from crowds for a good while.

burntpinky · 18/03/2020 12:58

I’ve been told to WFH for the foreseeable but am not actually doing a whole lot this week due to the morning sickness (and been signed off for a week anyway - unless I feel up to working - so am checking emails when feel ok enough).

I also feel like why on earth did I get pregnant in the middle of this but am 41 (42 in sept) so feel like this HAS to work out.

Mother in law normally has little one when we’re at work but we want to cut down his time with her to protect her (and us). Husband is working 9-1 at home until further notice (on orders of his work) so plan is (when I’m up to working), I will be up with DC and look after him from 6-8 whilst DH works. Then DH will take him off to park or in garden etc from 8-9 (I start work at 8) so I can work. Then DC normally has 2 hour nap so we can both work. Then once we asked we roll stick tv on for him so we can work. Then DH will take him to MIL and he will then go to work and I’ll then work and then MIL drops DC off when I finish (330 or 4). Hoping this will at least mean we can both do most of our core hours (when o stop feeling sick!!)

@Oldermum80 I'm so sorry to hear what you're going through. Sending you lots of love and thinking of you. X

ACatCalledLola · 18/03/2020 14:08

I can’t really isolate myself properly while the schools are open as dd could easily bring it home. It’s looking more and more likely that they will close this week which will make things easier. Being stuck in isolation with a 5 year old and a 3 year old whilst feeling sick isn’t going to be much fun though!

Whoamieven · 18/03/2020 14:24

Went to my GP today for something unrelated and mentioned I was worried about hyperemesis again this time, she wrote me a prescription straight away and said take it "you absolutely do not want to go to hospital at the moment", she was really adamant and said we are defo at risk and a hospital environment is not the place to end up Confused

FireflyGirl · 18/03/2020 14:27

DH and I are both working from home now, so we've made the decision to pull DS out of school. He's only just 5, so not going to miss out on a lot education wise.

We are also tag teaming to get work done while entertaining him. I think more people will be in this position next week.

FireflyGirl · 18/03/2020 14:28

I've just seen on BBC website, schools in Scotland and Wales will close by the end of the week.

HarrietM87 · 18/03/2020 14:47

Just had my 6 week scan and thank god all is ok - measured 6 weeks exactly (which I am today) and saw the heartbeat flickering away. So relieved!

burntpinky · 18/03/2020 14:49

@HarrietM87 that’s great news

SMcG1 · 18/03/2020 15:01

@Whoamieven I told my work today and was immediately sent home. I’m really glad about it because I work in a hospital and have to get public transport everyday so I was quite worried about it. I know there’s currently no evidence that it affects babies in the womb but with it being so new they can’t really say for certain if it does or does not. I’ll be limiting my contact with other people as much as possible for the time being.

Bumble88 · 18/03/2020 15:15

@HarrietM87 so pleased for you!! I have my 6 weeks scan ok Friday, I think I’ll be 6+3. I’m so nervous as I’ve read mixed things as to whether or not you’re likely to see a heart beat 😭

inahaze · 18/03/2020 15:25

exciting about all these 6 week scans! is that done privately?

like others i'm feeling reckless for getting pregnant, people keep saying there is going to be a baby boom?! surely not

HarrietM87 · 18/03/2020 15:30

@inahaze mine was done at my local hospital because I’ve had recurrent miscarriages. If you’re thinking about a private one I’d recommend waiting until 7/8 weeks as you’d be sure of seeing a heartbeat then. My losses were all pre 6 weeks which is why I’ve had one so early.

inahaze · 18/03/2020 15:33

thanks Harriet .... i haven't even done my booking in yet! oops!!

HarrietM87 · 18/03/2020 16:43

No I haven’t done my booking in either - was waiting for this scan as it’s heartbreaking having to cancel the booking appt! The scan was done at the early pregnancy unit via a GP referral; completely separate from the maternity unit where I’ll see midwives/have 12 week scan etc.

Natopp · 18/03/2020 17:30

So I'm 5+6 today.... At 17:00, morning sickness struck!! Or rather 'anytime of the day' sickness as it shall now be known! All I can say is it felt like I was in a very fast moving vehicle and I had to perform deep breaths in order for it to subside. I look after 2 small children and the eldest has just been told she's being kept off school from tomorrow .. This is going to be an interesting few months 😂😂 hope you're all doing OK and hanging on in there. Xxx

ACatCalledLola · 18/03/2020 19:28

Fantastic news @HarrietM87!

uisage · 18/03/2020 20:57

I don't want to be stuck at home with a toddler all day. The only way I got through maternity leave was by lots of classes and coffee dates. My DH won't be able to work from home, I'm maybe going to have to work while DS naps. Not the way I wanted to spend my pregnancy, I have been enjoying napping while DS naps.

Still no morning sickness. I'm hoping to book a scan in 2 weeks time.

Workingmama1 · 18/03/2020 21:31

I have a dry cough...started this morning but so far no other symptoms.
I know the evidence isn't currently showing any increased risk but I am worried. I think getting a fever in the first trimester is what is worrying me (if it even is coronavirus which I won't as they aren't testing!). Hoping it will just be like a mild cold for me.

NoseringGirl · 18/03/2020 21:44

@Workingmama1 I hope you're feeling better soon!

My DH found out today that someone who works for him has a fever and a cough (his daughter does too) so DH has potentially caught it. I'm trying not to panic.

Workingmama1 · 18/03/2020 21:53

@noseringGirl fingers crossed he's not passed it to you. Similar here, someone who works for DH had a cough and fever last week. He was sent home from work but then DH had a bit of a cough but no other symptoms...

NoseringGirl · 18/03/2020 21:56

@Workingmama1 hopefully you're both just people who get very mild symptoms! They've been saying on the daily briefings that some people might even be asymptotic with it!

Luckyhuman2020 · 18/03/2020 22:47

Hi ladies, I am new here, would love to join!

I am about 4+4 now, and due on 21 Nov. I got 2 failed IVFs and 2 MCs last year. TTC for more than 2 years and this time is a FET. So having a mixture of happiness and anxiousness. Feeling scared all the time that something gonna go wrong. Luckily I am working from home now, so trying not to actually get out now. But two days ago I started having some sore throat, and today I started coughing. Not a good sign now with the current situation...

@Fingersxtoescrossed we've got very close due day Smile. Same here, I dont really have any symptom, except I always feel hungry and having stomachache everyday, and I am not sleeping well, probably due to the worries I have.

I will have my first scan with the fertility centre on 3 Apr, same as you @canueve Smile

@AnxiousLady1, I am using Medisafe App to track my medications. Find it quite useful to remind myself not to forget anything.

Whoamieven · 19/03/2020 00:23

Hi @Luckyhuman2020 wow what a road you've been on. Best of luck with this bean!

BabyKnighty1 · 19/03/2020 00:41

No sickness for me yet, sitting at 6 weeks today 🤗. I feel like it will happen any day now haha
