Hi everyone, so glad to hear everyone's scans have been going well! Had mine yesterday too, husband wasn't allowed to come which was sad. But when I got in the hospital I wasn't surprised - it was so busy! The waiting room was packed and there was no way people were keeping 2m away from each other. I waited on my own in a hallway because I didn't feel safe in the waiting room - but then you end up being so close to the lady who does the ultrasound (and she sees so many people) I hope to God I don't have CV. A little paranoid right now but hopefully it is just paranoia.

On to much nicer news, my scan went great! The measurements are all fine and I didn't get a phone call about my blood work which they said means I'm low risk - so just waiting to get my letter. Little Bean was wiggling around a lot so we had to wait for a while before some of the measurements could be done but all good in the end. And I'm measuring ahead again - I'm actually 12w5 today, so I'll be 13w on Saturday! So happy with that 😊 my due date has moved forward to 3rd October - keeps moving forward with every scan. My mum says that was my due date and I was then born mid-september because I was a huge baby (I wasn't classed as premature) so she thinks the same might be on the cards for me.

Morning girls! I’m very concerned about my scan on Tuesday now hearing that waiting room was full for you @MrsD1990. If that’s the case I don’t understand difference husband being there would have made 🤷‍♀️. Glad all your scans went well tho and I’m also feeling crappy @Treaclepie19 with earache and a sore throat on top of constant nausea still 😩 just hope we feel better by the wknd! xx

Morning all! Glad your scan went well, @MrsD1990! It’s really reassuring to hear how many of you are having good experiences. Know a few of us have our scans today so hope we all have the same 🤞🏼

I am a bit nervous about being in a hospital and like Mrs D said, so close to the sonographer, but just going to take every precaution I can. Doesn’t help though that the girl I know who is a midwife at our hospital the other day treated a suspected CV mum-to-be and is now self isolating with symptoms 😬 Also nervous about the scan itself, just praying all is ok 🙏🏼 3.5 hours to go...

bluemoon2468 · 26/03/2020 07:40

Good luck to everyone for your scans today! Can't wait to see pics and hear how they went!

Treacle81 · 26/03/2020 07:47

I second that ❤️xx

Good luck to everyone with scans today and well done to all who had good scans yesterday! I am at the hospital at 9am- who ever would have thought you would feel nervous/scared about going to a hospital!!?

It's just a routine mid wife booking in appointment but even though I'm only 10 weeks, I kinda hope they scan me while I'm there to get it out the way in case I'm 2 weeks they are getting cancelled! But then I know it's better to wait till 12 weeks to spot things on the scan, such a confusing time!

LexiM · 26/03/2020 08:03

Hope everyone has great scans today and amazing news from everyone that has had them. I love hearing about them and makes me excited for next week.

Sorry some of you are feeling unwell, I hope you feel better soon. I am feeling ok at the moment but never take that for granted as whenever I say that the next day I feel rubbish!

It’s my first day on furlough, have no idea what I’m gonna do all day. My husband likes to think im going to get all the chores done 🤣

otterbaby · 26/03/2020 08:36

@LexiM I've been at home for just over a week - the only thing I can recommend is try to have some sort of routine through the day! Otherwise you'll go completely bonkers!

Still undecided when we're telling people about the pregnancy. Part of me just wants to pull a Kylie Jenner and just appear with a baby at the end of this 😂 or when things calm down, have all of our friends over for dinner and surprise, massive baby bump!

Feeling quite sad about all of the things we might miss out on - was really looking forward to my pregnancy yoga classes and antenatal classes. I hope they're back on by the time we're further along. I was excited to make those connections with other mums-to-be.

Good luck to those with appts today ❤️

Spark27 · 26/03/2020 08:51

@otterbaby, that's hilarious. I'd love to have the patience to do that. I kind of wish I hadn't told my colleagues and then rocked in later with a massive bump, but they would probably guess with me being off for 12 weeks.

Good luck to all those who have scans today.

Day 4 of being trapped in with toddler and I swear I'm going to go mad before long. I have no idea how SAHM cope. Although maybe if it's your decision it's a bit different. Although being trapped in the house adds an extra element. Oh, and potty training sucks. Just so you all know for the future.

LexiM · 26/03/2020 08:59

@otterbaby I think that’s good advice as I’m already confused what day it is!
Haha I wish I had the patience to surprise with a bump but feel like we’ve told too many people now not to tell everyone else once we have the scan.

Just heard from our maternity unit that they will allow one person to come with me to the 12 week and 20 week scan. Feeling very lucky when I know how many units are now allowing that. My husband is so relieved. I really hope this has all gone away later in our pregnancies so we can enjoy this time with others!

Treaclepie19 · 26/03/2020 09:02

@Spark27 I'm a SAHM but this is a new level. Not being able to go out is just horrendous 😩

BntTowers · 26/03/2020 09:04

Good luck to all those who have scans today, looking forward to seeing some more photos.

I think I need to change my morning routine to have a bit of a work out involved. For the past 6 years or so I've walked to and from work, I am really missing that time in the morning to think and prepare for my day. It's maybe why I'm struggling to get through the work day. I'm going to move yoga to the morning and maybe have a few minutes out in the garden before starting. On the other hand I have also been enjoying the little sleep ins.

How is everyone feel with being at home or working from home?

Buzz22 · 26/03/2020 09:11

Good luck to everyone with scans today.
I'm feeling a but silly after my breakdown last night. @Zaalfruit maybe I'll try explaining to reception the situation. I cant bare the thought of going to a scan alone in the same place I was told at 20 weeks last November I was going to lose my baby.
I dont want to be a pain in the arse though. I do understand why they are doing this. And I'm sure loads of ladies have been in a similar situation and are having to do the same.
As for busy waiting room, our scans are done in a totally separate building on a different road to the main hospital so I'm hoping it will be fairly quiet. I may wait outside and ask them to ring like someone previously mentioned.

@Treaclepie19 I was also sick last night after a week of feeling much better. I threw up on my foot and the floor suddenly it made me cry! Poor DP had to clean the carpet and my slipper!

We have already told everyone we are expecting. We waited till we saw the consultant and he did early scan at about 7 weeks. I was adamant I was waiting till 20 week scan to tell everyone then partner (who was so excited and is no good at keeping secrets anyway!) pointed out from our past experience why wait at all? We could go on till however long and there is always a chance something could go wrong. It's out of our hands.
It was a relief to tell my mum so early as it meant I had some support from her aswell, just in case anything bad happened.
Crazy to think we could all be sporting bumps by the next time we get to see some people.

SkyBlue20 · 26/03/2020 09:41

I feel so nauseous this morning, I think it might be nerves 😫

Quiffy · 26/03/2020 09:50

@buzz22 I totally understand having a breakdown, I was the same. After a few days I've kind of come to terms with it, but still terrified. It's the idea of walking in and knowing where to go and sitting by myself. That's even before scan nerves. Plus, I need to see consultant alone and that's terrifying me. My GP knows how nervous I get and always lets my husband come in so my appointments as my mind shuts down and I forget everything. It sucks but I get why they are doing it. With your past experience, I totally get why you are nervous so maybe they would make an exception? Can you at least sit him in the car for a little moral support before you go in?

Congratulations on all the scans pics and news! The photos are fab

Buzz22 · 26/03/2020 09:54

@SkyBlue20 best of luck today! Please post us a picture when you can! Really enjoying seeing everyone's scan photos the past few days.

@BntTowers I've been managing to get out for a walk every morning with the dog. We've not ventured far like we usually do. I'm lucky to have a huge park at the end of our road though. People seem to be sensible here...Only spotted a few other dog walkers and a couple of joggers all avoiding each other like the plague!
I've been doing yoga and pilates in the morning too. I think exercising is keeping me relatively sane. I've been thinking of doing yoga in the garden but dont want neighbours thinking I'm a weirdo so I've stuck to doing it inside.

SkyBlue20 · 26/03/2020 10:10

Thanks @buzz22. I want to do yoga in the garden too and although we’re only overlooked on one side by neighbours we know pretty well, I’m still embarrassed to do so!

@Quiffy how strange about your nipples - hopefully it’s a one off!

Currently sitting in the living room, eating crackers and sipping water until we have to leave for the hospital in about 10-15mins 😬

SkyBlue20 · 26/03/2020 10:11

Totally forgot about the full bladder thing and have just had a wee, best get more than sipping my water! 😬

Quiffy · 26/03/2020 10:14

@skyblue eeeee good luck, nerves likely making nausea worse - get that water down you if you can.

bluemoon2468 · 26/03/2020 10:25

@SkyBlue20 I've always completely ignored the full bladder thing as I find it so uncomfortable with them pressing down on me, and they've never mentioned it or had a problem seeing the baby!

Quiffy · 26/03/2020 10:53

I got told off (well she commented on my non-full bladder) for not having a full bladder at my private scan (who is also the same person doing my NHS one), I'd drank LOADS an hour before. Luckily my next is at 9am, so I think I'll set and alarm and go at 4am and then hold from the morning. Another thing to be nervous about...

LexiM · 26/03/2020 11:02

The full bladder makes me nervous too - like how much should we drink! Mine is at 9am too so I won’t have drank much normally by then and will have to make sure I do before the appointment. I will have to wee when I wake up though! I have always drank lots of water throughout the day but I also always need to pee and don’t want to feel uncomfortable. Oh the dilemma 🤣
My SIL said they didn’t even ask her to have a full bladder before her scan, once again everywhere is different.

SkyBlue20 · 26/03/2020 11:30

Not good news from me girls, a MMC with a gestational sack measuring about 9weeks but only the start of a foetal pole. Still at the hospital waiting for all the admin to be processed and next steps and whatnot. I had such a fear of a MMC, I just knew.

Very upsetting and even more so as I can’t be with DH, but we’ll get through it. I’ll be back when I’ve processed. Xxx

Quiffy · 26/03/2020 11:33

@Skyblue20 I am so so sorry, heartbroken for you. We're all here for you if you need a chat. Take care of yourself as much as you can :(

BntTowers · 26/03/2020 11:39
