@AnxiousLady1 oh I would be exactly the same! I feel more reassured at the guidance that came out saying that we are no more at risk than others and there are so far no proven links to any affects on baby but i still feel more on edge because of it. I was absolutely fine before this, wash hands lots blah blah but now I'm hyper aware of anyone coughing/sneezing near me...

AnxiousLady1 · 11/03/2020 09:21

@bluebell94 Yes, I am trying to be rational about it, but I think all rational thought goes out the window at this time. Have enough worry that the early stage of the preganancy will go okay, and waiting forever for those initial scans for reassurance. And then we have to lump coronavirus into the mix! Smile

canueve · 11/03/2020 09:52

Hi ladies, one more addition to the thread.
I got my bfp a couple of days ago and still trying to believe it's real.

We have been TTC for almost 2 years and literally just had our IVF clinic first appointment 2 days before I found out I am pregnant.

I had just done the HSG test and was doing acupuncture at the same time so I am giving credits to that.

My due date is November, 6 - it feels so surreal that all going well I'll have a baby still this year! Just a bit anxious to get to 12-16 weeks to make sure all ok.

Has anyone been to the doctors yet?

SMcG1 · 11/03/2020 09:58

Hi everyone, got my BFP last week and I’m due 3rd November. Was really shocked as it was our first month of TTC but I’m really excited now that the shock has worn off Grin. The last week I had been feeling really nauseous and barely sleeping but that all seems to have passed which is worrying me a bit but I’m trying to stay positive. I was worrying last week because of how bad I felt so I think regardless of how I feel I’m going to worry about it! Reading everyone else’s experiences on here is helping me stay calm though.

Pumpkin108 · 11/03/2020 09:59

Can I join too? I found out yesterday and think I'm due towards end of November but not 100% sure of exact date.

Emmagen · 11/03/2020 10:05

Hi everyone. Can I join? I'm expecting my 2nd around the 15th of Nov. Bit of a shock as it took about 2 years of trying on and off to conceive DS and this time it happened on the 3rd month! I think I'm just a lot more aware of my cycle now than I was!

Haven't phoned the doctors yet as I'm away next week so will get my booking appointment sorted the week after.

Rather more scared this time around, I had pretty bad morning sickness last time and ended up on anti emetics after tearing my throat up and vomiting (a tiny bit of) blood... fun fact doctor's receptionists get you seen VERY quickly when you phone with that. Luckily I work from home and was able to take it easy and I still struggled. This time I have a 3yr old...

canueve · 11/03/2020 10:08

@Pumpkin108 Do you remember when it was the first day of your last period?

JJxo · 11/03/2020 10:13

Morning all, having a bit of a tough one. 6 weeks today. Had some sharp pains in stomach after work last night and have noticed one side of my stomach is lopsided with corresponding back pain on that side too. I’ve also developed a strange big lump beneath my belly button. We went to A&E last night but there was a 5 hour wait for scan. We left at 1am after managing to secure an appointment for an ultrasound with EPU today. I’m worried sick.

Tonicandgin · 11/03/2020 10:19

Oh best of luck @JJxo

Thinking of you. Xx

Pumpkin108 · 11/03/2020 10:21

@canueve so I didn't have a last period because I only came off the pill 5 weeks ago! Shock came off pill 2nd Feb. Had withdrawal bleed few days after that and clear blue said 2-3 weeks yesterday

AnxiousLady1 · 11/03/2020 10:30

@JJxo - best of luck with the scan today. x

bluebell94 · 11/03/2020 10:31

@canueve that's amazing, congratulations you must be over the moon!
@JJxo good luck - what time is your scan? Will be thinking of you x

wannabebump · 11/03/2020 10:33

@JJxo good luck hope you're ok x

JJxo · 11/03/2020 10:33

Thanks ladies, that means a lot. My scan is just after 12pm x

ACatCalledLola · 11/03/2020 10:39

I hope it goes well today @LJxo.
I’m feeling doomed today. My latest thyroid results have come in and they’re way out. When I googled it says that the levels I have are associated with a very high risk of miscarriage. So I’m probably screwed. I need to see a specialist but I spent an hour on hold this morning before giving up. I don’t have particularly strong symptoms either and I definitely felt very ill by this stage with my successful pregnancies.

HarrietM87 · 11/03/2020 11:09

Oh no I’m sorry to hear about your results @ACatCalledLola. Don’t despair yet. I’m hypothyroid and upped my dose as soon as I got my bfp; had levels tested again on Mon so expecting my results today. Pregnancy always sends my TSH totally mad so hoping it’s under control at the moment.

Feel like my boobs are less sore today and generally feeling pessimistic. My scan is 1 week today and time is passing so slowly.

Tonicandgin · 11/03/2020 11:38

First time with an under active thyroid. What do I need to do?

I wasn't bothering doing anything - including midwife apt as im only 4 weeks, as yet but wondering if I should?

Emelene · 11/03/2020 11:49

@Tonicandgin - I think it depends locally for the antenatal referral. I have to do an online referral to the midwife at my local hospital, but only after I'm 6 weeks. I'm 6+1 today, does that count? Grin I think they mean 7 weeks +.
If you're not sure I think the GP receptionists will know.

Regarding the thyroid I think it might be worth speaking to the GP as previous posters said below pregnancy can really affect the thyroid function?

EssentialHummus · 11/03/2020 11:49

First time with an under active thyroid. What do I need to do?

I’m also hypo. Look up the NICE guidelines for hypo in pregnancy - need to increase your normal dose of Levothyroxine (if that’s what you’re on) by 25-30%, and get your thyroid levels retested if not tested recently to make sure you’re on the right dose.

HarrietM87 · 11/03/2020 11:57

Yes @Tonicandgin you need to increase your dose now by 25mcg (you can take 50mcg alternate days if you don’t have smaller tablets) and get a blood test booked in ASAP. For reference, just before conception my TSH was 1.12. At bfp I upped my dose by 25mcg (from 150 to 175mcg) and got my levels checked again on Monday. My TSH has gone up to 3.4 even on the increased dose and it needs to be under 2.5 in the first trimester so I need to go up to 200mcg now. It’s really important to be proactive with this as GPs are rubbish in my experience. When I called my surgery just now they said my results were “normal, no action” (because the normal range outside of pregnancy is under 4), and I had to really push for the actual numbers which confirmed that they’re not in fact normal! You are at increased risk of mc if they’re not right so you need to push for this.

ACatCalledLola · 11/03/2020 12:01

Thanks @HarrietM87. I was being treated for Graves Disease (TSH 0.02 at last test) but my results now show under active with TSH levels over 9. I know how bad that is for miscarriage risk Sad I have been told to stop my propylthiouracil right away but my GP didn’t know if I should be taking Levothyroxine. I’ve given up on the NHS and booked to see a private endocrinologist next week. I hope that’s not too late. I will be over 6 weeks by then so it might be.
My boobs still feel sore but I think only because I’m prodding them every 5 minutes Grin
@Tonicandgin definitely worth seeing your GP and getting your bloods done ASAP.

Natopp · 11/03/2020 12:45

Hello everyone
Thought I'd join this thread if that's ok? Congratulations to all the bfp's out there!!

My husband and I just got ours a few days ago and we still can't believe it. This was our second month trying. We started trying in January when we came back from honeymoon and just weren't expecting it to happen so quickly! We missed the Jan window as it turns out I ovulate later than I thought. Feb we hit the nail on the head so to speak ☺️
It's hard to imagine that this is happening!!
I guess it won't feel real until the first scan? !

Natopp · 11/03/2020 12:48

Is anyone else having trouble sleeping? I have started waking up at around 3am each night sweating and hot and needing a wee! I never wake up during the night!
Forgot to mention in my last post, all being well, I'll be due 12th Nov. Ahh!!

canueve · 11/03/2020 13:06

@natopp Congrats on the bfp and for being so quick conceiving. Welcome on board!

I have no problem sleeping as I am feeling very exhausted lately, but I wake up at 5am and cannot fall back asleep Hmm

MummyMilla · 11/03/2020 17:20

Thanks @ParisInTheSpringtime @ohiwishyouwerehere.

My boobs have actually felt like I've got needles being inserted in them today, which along with the nausea have been weirdly reassuring! Ha.

God, this pregnancy malarky is hard, isn't it?
