Happy Sunday lovelies! 5+3 today! I'm currently sat watching Harry Potter whilst DH strips wallpaper upstairs.. Think he has gone into panic mode a bit too early 😂😂 as he has been doing lots of chores which is v. rare bless him!!

I am having cramps in my lower region specially on right hand side, but that's it. I don't necessarily 'feel pregnant' apart from when I wake up lots during the night due to being hot and to wee.

In an odd way I am praying for morning sickness to start soon just to feel something more concise as feel as though I should be feeling more??

SqidgeBum · 15/03/2020 13:42

@Natopp I completely understand your desire to have MS as a symptom, but trust me, you DO NOT want this. Wish for any other pregnancy symptom but not this. I know people who didnt have even a small bit of MS when pregnant (I secretly hate them). Pray you are like them.

AnxiousLady1 · 15/03/2020 13:45

To those of you worried about Coronavirus, I am with you. But I am also trying to compartmentalize. I can't worry about that and worry about making it through first trimester all at the same time. One thing that is starting to irk me, however, is that there's seems to be no major action taken in the UK as yet, while neighbouring countries have effectively gone into lockdown in a bid to mitigate the risk and stop the spread. I'm willing for an announcement to come out, so I can work from home and it's taken out of my hands. Reluctant to tell employers about the pregnancy at such an early stage due to previous early loss.

FlashesOfRage · 15/03/2020 13:54

Just having a “morning” sickness rant don’t mind me 😜

I feel sick all day and all night. It’s like when you have food poisoning and you know the vomiting is imminent... except for me there is no vomiting just endlessly feeling like it’s coming any minute.

I got woken up by feeling sick and hunger pangs at the same bastard time. I eat something and then feel even worse 👌 I’m full of gas top to bottom and constantly have awful acid reflux.

It takes so much willpower to get out of bed to get downstairs to the sofa and that’s as far as I manage aside from my once per day 30min walk near my house. Sitting up makes me tired, lying down makes my reflux worse...

Things that aren’t helping at all;
Ginger,
Seabands,
Bland food like crackers,

Things that feel slightly good for a short time;
Being asleep,
Sucking boiled sweets (I bought “queasy pops” which are just very expensive boiled sweets),
Very cold air from an open window,

I’m going to ask for drugs at my GP tomorrow because my mental state is being wrecked by this rather quickly lol x

burntpinky · 15/03/2020 14:01

@FlashesofRage - what you have described is EXACTLY what I am experiencing. Oddly, some Nutella on toast seemed to work at lunchtime but not sure if just a coincidence.

It’s so hard, these babies are very much wanted, but the road to get there is so hard, not just the TTC, but the first trimester particularly. Both the worry and the symptoms. I had a friend who was TTC for 6 years and she said that if she managed to get pregnant she wouldn’t moan (like the rest of us!) about symptoms because she’d be so grateful to be pregnant. I said “you will, trust me”. Guess what: she moaned 😂

These babies take everything from us to grow. That I’m content with, but I need a bit of help from some medicine as I still have to bring home the bacon and help my toddler grow

SqidgeBum · 15/03/2020 14:04

Oh @FlashesOfRage I feel your pain! I am not at that point (yet) but I know it's coming. Last time around I just used to eat, be sick, and then be able to eat a bit more. I also wore anti sickness bands. However, nothing helped much really. I just survived the weeks, somehow. Hopefully your doc will be able to give you something. However my docs attitude was 'unfortunately you are pregnant. This is what happens'. I just used to cry every evening. I was so miserable. My thoughts go to you! Xx

Natopp · 15/03/2020 14:35

Oh yes I have seen friends and co-workers suffering from morning sickness many times beforehand. Maybe a poor choice of words on my behalf. What I'm saying is I just feel like I should and want to be experiencing more symptoms to make this seem more real, seeing as scan is so far away. I don't really feel any different and that's just how I am feeling right now. Just using this platform to get by each day. Obviously I'd love to avoid MS altogether, I just wish I had more signs. I don't mean to offend anyone who is really suffering with it and I wish everyone a healthy pregnancy.

burntpinky · 15/03/2020 14:36

I can confirm that a Creme Egg definitely DOES NOT work as a cure for morning sickness!

Natopp · 15/03/2020 14:37

@SqidgeBum sorry forgot to tag you above! :)

SqidgeBum · 15/03/2020 14:38

Oh no dont worry @Natopp! You definitely didnt offend me. I remember the desperation to feel pregnant and feeling like it wasnt real. Even with MS I am still struggling to get my head around a second child. I hope you get every symptom except MS Grin

FlashesOfRage · 15/03/2020 14:46

Thanks @burntpinky and @squidgebum ❤️

Nutella has me intrigued 😍

And lol @ your friend burntpinky! I’m in utter shock to be pregnant after my diagnosis and very very low expectations during ivf treatment. I’ve spent most of my life knowing I would need ivf and expecting it not to work.
Sadly really really wanting it and going through hell to get preggers doesn’t make it fluffy clouds and rainbows anymore than it is for the average woman lol

It’s bloody horrid and very difficult to visualise that you are actually growing your longed for child (x2) in your belly right now x

ACatCalledLola · 15/03/2020 15:04

@FlashesOfRage that’s exactly how I felt in my first pregnancy. To this day I can’t drink peppermint tea because that was one thing that helped briefly. Another thing that helped briefly was eating bits of fruit. Only a tiny bit at a time because fullness made me feel sick but enough so I wasn’t hungry because that also made me feel sick. You have my sympathy.

bluebell94 · 15/03/2020 15:10

@Natopp I know the feeling, I don't really have symptoms yet either so feel like I don't really believe it! Strange isn't it haha. I did feel a bit queasy on Friday but felt fine since. Also been more hungry but could put that down to me just being greedy Grin
And my DH has also started acting strangely, Friday I came home to loads of bits of wood and tools all over, him trying to 'get things done' ...he's never bothered in the 2 years we've lived in this houseGrin

Natopp · 15/03/2020 15:24

@SqidgeBum
Aw congratulations on this being your 2nd, how lovely!

@bluebell94
It's so strange!! I took 7 pregnancy tests in total and they all had strong lines but I still require more immediate confirmation before I'm due any scans 😂! I am so impatient which doesn't help. I haven't necessarily been more hungry as I'm always constantly eating regardless 😂🙄🙄 but I'm being more careful with what I am eating and I'm trying to consume more nutritious food for the little person growing inside of me! Saying that I just scoffed a whole pack of orange biscuits from M&S and I'm pretty sure they have nothing nutritious in them whatsoever. But sooo yummy. Oops!
Omg how funny that your hubby is 'getting things done' too. We've been in our house for 2 years too and he has done bugger all up until we found out we are expecting! Bless them, it's really sweet to see actually! Makes me emotional that he's starting to sort the house out and is preparing for November already 😭😊

NoseringGirl · 15/03/2020 17:16

@burntpinky I was the same as your friend! I always struggle to get pregnant and the first time I was adamant I wasn't going to moan and didn't want to seem ungrateful but being pregnant it's hard! Eventually, someone said it me that it was the baby I wanted not all the hard parts of pregnancy and it was okay for me not to love every moment. That made me feel less guilty!

I think everyone experiences pregnancy differently but pretty much everyone will have moments that they don't enjoy whether that's the sickness or the anxiety about lack of symptoms. It's just okay to feel a bit shit sometimes basically! It's useful to have groups like this for support when you're in those shit moments.

HarrietM87 · 15/03/2020 19:57

Is anyone else finding that sickness is more like afternoon/evening sickness than morning sickness? I’m fine in the morning but feel increasingly more awful as the day goes on!

ACatCalledLola · 15/03/2020 20:07

@HarrietM87 that’s how every pregnancy has been for me. I definitely think it’s tiredness related.

anon5555 · 15/03/2020 20:12

Hello,

By my calculations I'm 4+3, first pregnancy, due mid-November. I've had 3 positive tests last week on different days.

I called doctors surgery last week, who asked me to call Midwifes directly, which I did and left a message. They don't offer doctors appointment before Midwife "booking appointment" in my area. Anyone else the same as this? So I have to wait until Midwifes reply to my voice message, it takes up to a week. I hope they respond next week so I can an appointment soon :) it does feel a bit strange not having contact/speaking to anyone neither GP or midwife yet - does anyone else feel like that?

I've booked a private scan for 8 weeks, thanks for the advice on that earlier in the thread which I was following! As I'd really like to know whether I am actually pregnant ASAP.

Lovely to meet everyone!

NoseringGirl · 15/03/2020 20:30

@anon5555 it's the same in my area! With my youngest who is 3, I had to have a GP appointment first but they've changed the system now. Weirdly my surgery have booked my 16 week appointment but I'm waiting for the midwives to contact me about my booking in appointment. They like to wait until I'm at least 8 weeks to book in.

uisage · 15/03/2020 20:32

@Natopp I'm not suffering from morning sickness yet, I'm 5+6. Last time round it hit me at 6 weeks, so I'm just waiting for it. I was never sick, just felt constantly queasy up until 13 weeks. Then the indigestion kicked in, right up to when DS was born.

My 8 week scan has been cancelled due to coronavirus Sad. Now I'm going to have to wait until 12 weeks, which is probably the peak and I won't want to go to the hospital. It's going to be an interesting pregnancy.

@anon555 That sounds right. Is there any reason you want to see a doctor in particular? I don't think I saw them at all during my last pregnancy, all your care will be handled by the midwife team unless you're high risk.

anon5555 · 15/03/2020 21:07

@uisage
@NoseringGirl
Thanks for the reassurance - I don't know why I expected a GP appointment! All good then I'll just wait to hear from them.

I'm a little bit worried about MS coming at 6 weeks as everyone is saying the same.... I feel like I've got 10 days left before it becomes difficult to do things! Little bit anxious about it but trying to relax.

I think my private scan might be cancelled to (it's in April) but we'll have to see! I'm glad I've got it booked in for now.

I'm trying to avoid everything about Coronavirus because I'm such an anxious person anyway, and got to try my absolute best not to be anxious during pregnancy but it's going to be hard. What a difficult situation the country is in :/

Pink15 · 15/03/2020 21:42

Anyone else getting lumpy boobs?

I'm gonna ring my GP tomorrow to try and book in the 8 week booking appt - at this rate sounds like it may all be done on the phone!!!

SJ1989 · 16/03/2020 06:20

@Pink15 your booking app is normally at the hospital unit not the GP as its not with the community midwife so should go ahead, and they do bloods at the same time so you'd have to go in for that anyway

GB88 · 16/03/2020 07:50

I sent my self refferal 2 weeks ago but haven't heard anything back, is anyone else still waiting this long, is it normal to wait over 2 weeks? Im 6+5 today

AnxiousLady1 · 16/03/2020 07:57

Anyone else experienced spotting at this stage? I'm 6+3 today.
